1st (5) (7/4 +65%)Catchabird |
7/4(+65%) | (5) Catchabird 7/4, Ran to form down in trip, did plenty early but another tame finish when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle at Leopardstown latest; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts with cut; consistent, drop in trip a plus but vulnerable in this grade. Experienced mare gets weight from several of these so that brings her into contention. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 -14%)Jumbos Jet |
8/1(-14%) | (6) Jumbos Jet 8/1, Travelled, went clear, improved for debut experience but kicked on too soon 26l third in a maiden hurdle at Limerick most recent run; hood first time; effective 2m, acts on heavy; could build on latest if ridden bit more conservatively. Beaten 26l last time; raced keenly then so a hood is added; can get closer if settling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (15/8 -50%)Shadys Lady |
15/8(-50%) | (3) Shadys Lady 15/8, Ran to form 16l third in a maiden hurdle at Navan most recent run; effective at 2m-2m3f, acts with cut; bumper winner progressing over hurdles, should go well again. Beaten 15l into third at Navan last time; handles ground so a player despite 8lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (80/1 -60%)Lucy Jordan |
80/1(-60%) | (8) Lucy Jordan 80/1, Below form up in grade when fourth beaten 54l in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown latest; effective at 3m in points; improvement needed and likely one for handicaps. Well beaten in a pair of maiden hurdles lately at big prices and has to improve loads. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (200/1 0%)Grace's Legacy |
200/1(0%) | (11) Grace's Legacy 200/1, Mistakes, green, never threatened down the field in a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe most recent; lot to prove. Well beaten in two juvenile hurdles and isn't easy to fancy after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (6/1 -50%)Lady Fromentro |
6/1(-50%) | (7) Lady Fromentro 6/1, 17,000 euros Bande mare; top trainer who gets plenty of first time out winners; half brother a hurdles and chase winner in France; of interest. Made Eur17,000 as a 3yo; worth a market check for a leading yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (200/1 +0%)Arizona Robbins |
200/1(+0%) | (9) Arizona Robbins 200/1, May not have stayed on hurdle debut well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Limerick latest; hood first time; off a short-break; stamina to prove now hurdling. Modest Flat maiden was beaten a long way on hurdling debut and can't be fancied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (100/1 -257%)Questionable |
100/1(-257%) | (2) Questionable 100/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 5l in a handicap at Epsom latest; hood first time; 10f Flat winner in UK; stamina to prove on hurdle debut. Flat winner isn't bred for jumping and a hood is added for hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (9/2 +18%)Brosna Queen |
9/2(+18%) | (1) Brosna Queen 9/2, Outclassed comfortably held in Listed Mares Flat Race at Navan last time; returning from a break; effective 2m on yielding, good; bumper win franked but more needed to figure in hot contest over hurdles. Bumper winner wasn't at her best in two Listed events after; a big player on hurdles bow. |

SHADYS LADY has been well held in her three efforts over hurdles but she had shown ability in bumpers previously. The selection defeated a subsequent winner by 10 lengths when scoring at Naas in November and whilst hurdling hasn't gone to plan so far, her recent third can be built upon. Brosna Queen won a bumper last June and while not as good at Listed level subsequently, can do better for the switch to an obstacle. Catchabird is rated just 96 but receives weight from the previous winners. Lady Fromentro is also noted.

Despite being penalised 8lb for her bumper win, SHADYS LADY can make light of that and build on her third at Navan last time.

1st (12) (14/1 -27%)Zam Bobbler |
14/1(-27%) | (12) Zam Bobbler 14/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown last time; effective 2m; in fair form, bit more to come. Like a few of these, he's shown some ability without remotely threatening to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/4 +44%)Mart Lane |
9/4(+44%) | (9) Mart Lane 9/4, Ran to form comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Thurles last time; effective 2m, acts on heavy; in good form, should be competitive in weaker contest. Remote fifth at Thurles but 17 ran and the winner is useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (14/1 +13%)Let's Go La Fichad |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Let's Go La Fichad 14/1, Far too free comfortably held in a bumper at Navan last time; hood first time; well fancied on debut in bumpers but showed nothing in that sphere. Too keen and tailed off in bumpers at Fairyhouse and Navan; headgear is now turned to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (17/2 +6%)King Of Westeros |
17/2(+6%) | (4) King Of Westeros 17/2, Bit free but improved well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown latest; effective over 2 1/2m, acts on heavy; from good yard, type to do better handicapping. Hasn't offered much so far under rules and might be one for handicaps at some stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (100/1 +0%)Powerful Rosie |
100/1(+0%) | (14) Powerful Rosie 100/1, Never threatened beaten 8l in a handicap at Dundalk last time; pedigree mix of speed and stamina; hard to fancy on Flat debut. Tailed off over hurdles in the autumn and has since looked very limited on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (25/1 -233%)Brother Hollie |
25/1(-233%) | (13) Brother Hollie 25/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Navan last time; hood first time; returning from a break; flat-bred, effective 2m; probably one for handicaps after this. Beaten a shade under 20l in maidens at Cork (good) and Navan (heavy); now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (40/1 +60%)Le Midnightdancer |
40/1(+60%) | (6) Le Midnightdancer 40/1, Below form well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse latest; off a short-break; likely to need more time. No show at all in maidens won by smart types Ballyfad and Mighty Park. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (100/1 -52%)Marian Avenue |
100/1(-52%) | (8) Marian Avenue 100/1, Mistakes, green, continued in poor form down the field in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel most recent; effective 2m, acts on soft; yet to show anything. Huge odds for all his runs and has performed accordingly; will probably need handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 +0%)Elbow Lane |
150/1(+0%) | (2) Elbow Lane 150/1, Badly hampered, improved from debut down the field in a maiden hurdle at Naas most recent; effective 2m; point form had knocks, may need more time over hurdles. Third in a point but tailed off in his two maiden hurdles and best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (16/5 +42%)Blazing Duke |
16/5(+42%) | (1) Blazing Duke 16/5, Yard won this last year; bit below form but did see out the longer trip well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Naas latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on heavy; from good yard which does well here, should have more to offer over hurdles. Encouraging fifth at Gowran and didn't appear to stay the 2m3f last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (50/1 -150%)Large Steps |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Large Steps 50/1, Failed to build on debut down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown most recent; off a short-break; acts on yielding; debut form here franked, must bounce back. Showed a bit on his debut (beaten 20l) but Punchestown was disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (250/1 -25%)Sonny Koufax |
250/1(-25%) | (10) Sonny Koufax 250/1, Too green to show anything well beaten in a bumper here latest; returning from a break; showed little in points or so far under rules. Tailed off in only completed point and has beaten one rival in two bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (18/1 +91%)True Harmony |
18/1(+91%) | (11) True Harmony 18/1, Never threatened well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel latest; point winner could have more to offer under rules but may need more time. Won a point but it's been a struggle in his two maiden hurdles, both on heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (9/4 -50%)Eliodam |
9/4(-50%) | (3) Eliodam 9/4, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Thurles latest; from top yard but yet to deliver on market expecations; should be capable of much better. Twice a beaten favourite so comes with risks but he's surely capable of better. |

MART LANE has shown just mild promise so far but this is a weak maiden and he can progress. From a useful Flat family, the selection has yet to trouble the judge but he was beaten by capable rivals at Thurles last month, with the well-beaten third-placed horse scoring subsequently. Eliodam has started at short-odds on each of his three runs and while yet to show much, he should be competitive. King Of Westeros has been well held in a trio of hurdling efforts since finishing second in a point-to-point last November but drops in grade today.

It's hard to make a solid case for any of these but the chances are that ELIODAM is capable of considerably better than he's shown.

1st (5) (9/2 -29%)Westoftignes |
9/2(-29%) | (5) Westoftignes 9/2, Hampered last, just failed, ran to best, touch unlucky beaten a neck off a 4lb lower mark at Gowran Park last time; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-2m6f, acts on heavy, good; in form, may do better over slightly further. Just denied in a Gowran handicap last time; should run well off 4lb higher for a new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (14/1 +44%)Poppycon |
14/1(+44%) | (9) Poppycon 14/1, Outpaced, never threatened well beaten in a graduation hurdle at Punchestown latest; effective 2m1f with cut; could improve now handicapping. Well beaten in three maiden hurdles; do better in this grade though others still preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 -67%)Harty Cup |
5/2(-67%) | (4) Harty Cup 5/2, Did it easily and improved outclassing rivals landing a handicap by 6l off a 10lb lower mark at Clonmel last time; effective 2m, acts on heavy; progressing in handicaps, likely more to come over a bit further. Clonmel winner was raised 10lb but could well be progressing enough to defy that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (13/2 +54%)Good Deal |
13/2(+54%) | (1) Good Deal 13/2, Ran to form 25l third in a maiden hurdle at Navan most recent run; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts with cut; spring form had knocks, recent efforts look level. Capable of running well on handicap debut but could be vulnerable too off top-weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 +54%)You Done Well |
13/2(+54%) | (3) You Done Well 13/2, Needed run beaten 9l in a claiming hurdle at Clonmel last time; effective 2 1/2m on soft, good; inconsistent but well treated back in a handicap. Not a bad debut for this stable in a Clonmel claimer and one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/3 +58%)The Dancen Kid |
10/3(+58%) | (6) The Dancen Kid 10/3, Travelled, probably challenged a bit too early, improved down in trip beaten 3l off a 3lb lower mark at Leopardstown last time; effective 2m-2m2f with cut; needs to build on latest. Third in a Leopardstown handicap over 2m2f; raised 3lb and this trip should be fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -177%)Comanche Moon |
18/1(-177%) | (7) Comanche Moon 18/1, Travelled strongly but found little looking in need of the outing when fourth beaten 11l in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel latest; usually held up; effective 2m, acts with cut; likely capable of better this term. Beaten 11l by Harty Cup at Clonmel last time on first run for 343 days; fitter now; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (15/2 0%)Harry's Dream |
15/2(0%) | (2) Harry's Dream 15/2, Yard won this last year; ran to form when second beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Limerick latest; effective 2m, wants some give; back in form and go well again. Running well in defeat lately and can go well but is vulnerable off this mark too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (100/1 -203%)Native Policy |
100/1(-203%) | (8) Native Policy 100/1, Improved a little on final qualifying run down the field in a maiden hurdle at Naas most recent; effective 2m3f; needs more again to figure now handicapping. Beaten 33l at Naas last time; can do better in this grade but still best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (200/1 -203%)Real Petite |
200/1(-203%) | (11) Real Petite 200/1, No obvious excuse down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown most recent; off a short-break; effective 8-12f, yet to match winter AW maiden efforts on flat; bit to prove over hurdles. Well beaten in four juvenile hurdles; has to do much better and 4lb out of the handicap. |

HARTY CUP won well last month and although he is 10lb higher now, he remains open to improvement. Placed third on point-to-point debut last March, the selection finished behind the reopposing Westoftignes at Gowran in January but stepped forward from that showing when scoring at Clonmel (where Commanche Moon finished fourth). Westoftignes comes here fresher than the selection and has changed yards since that latest performance. The Dancen Kid showed improvement when finishing third in a big-field handicap at Leopardstown recently.

HARTY CUP (nap) improved plenty to score easily at Clonmel and can defy a 10lb rise to win again.

1st (7) (5/1 +58%)Dont Go Yet |
5/1(+58%) | (7) Dont Go Yet 5/1, Unsuited by step up in trip well beaten in a handicap chase at Gowran Park latest; effective 2m, acts with cut; generally consistent but often out-battled. Rated lower in this discipline but has been below his best over fences the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/1 -100%)Becasse |
11/1(-100%) | (3) Becasse 11/1, Improved when winning a juvenile hurdle at Fontainebleau by 5l last time; absent for very lengthy period; effective at around 2m, acts on soft; winner in France, more to come for new yard and mark looks fair. French winner; long-time absent; market useful on handicap/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 +55%)Tir Og |
9/2(+55%) | (5) Tir Og 9/2, Made too much use of down the field in Paddy And Maureen Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle (Listed) at Leopardstown most recent; effective at 2m1f-2m4f, acts on any but may be best on sound surface; progressive filly until latest, could bounce back down in class. Tough task last time at Leopardstown but perhaps a shade high in the weights now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 +0%)Jabbar |
8/1(+0%) | (1) Jabbar 8/1, Ran to form coping with the testing ground 4l third in the Conditions Hurdle at Punchestown most recent run; off a short-break; effective 2-3m, acts on any; consistent in both codes; more to come in handicaps. Good Flat horse and now tackling his first handicap over jumps; has won a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/3 -67%)One Big Boum |
10/3(-67%) | (2) One Big Boum 10/3, Did it easily and improved again landing a handicap by 24l off a 11lb lower mark at Fairyhouse last time; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by cut; back in form of late, may yet get even further, threat in hat trick bid. Shooting up the weights but now 2-2 in blinkers and something has clicked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (13/2 +68%)Must Meet Cecil |
13/2(+68%) | (8) Must Meet Cecil 13/2, Far too keen, didn't handle the ground down the field in a handicap hurdle at Navan most recent; returning from a break; effective 2m, wants decent ground; good mark on claiming form but conditions a concern. Thoroughly exposed five-time winner but has placed form this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|S| (6) (10/3 -33%)Give Him A Chance |
10/3(-33%) | (6) Give Him A Chance 10/3, Improved appreciating stiff track back down in trip landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Naas last time; effective 2 1/4m, ideally wants 2 1/2m; progressive. Not had much racing so a 6lb higher mark than at Naas could still be workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (25/1 -39%)Digby |
25/1(-39%) | (4) Digby 25/1, Made move too soon and finished tired down the field in QuinnBet Handicap Chase (Listed) at Leopardstown most recent; effective 3m, good ground key; stiff mark. Exposed 11yo who is back hurdling over what looks an inadequate trip. |

GIVE HIM A CHANCE is an able handicapper and should be competitive from a career-high rating of 116. Ground-versatile, the selection finished second at Cheltenham in November and whilst he disappointed twice the following month, he bounced back to land a big-field handicap at Naas. One Big Boum relishes testing ground and won easily at Fairyhouse last month but he is not certain to benefit from a drop in trip. Becasse hasn't been seen since landing an ordinary hurdles race at Fontainebleau in October 2024 and Tir Og would have claims if reproducing the form that she produced earlier this season.

He's got another hefty rise in the weights to deal with but ONE BIG BOUM has looked a different horse in blinkers.

(4) (13/8 -225%)Yoradreamer |
13/8(-225%) | (4) Yoradreamer 13/8, Improved on final qualifying run but conceded first run when second beaten 3l in a beginners chase chase at Gowran Park latest; effective 2-2 1/2m, suited by sound surface, acts on yielding; could build on latest improvement if ridden more positively. Runner-up at Gowran over 2m3f; similar ground today; the one to beat if staying this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (10/3 +5%)Great Attitude |
10/3(+5%) | (1) Great Attitude 10/3, Ran to form on chase debut just tiring late back from break comfortably held in a beginners chase chase at Galway last time; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on soft and good; more to come over fences. Not a bad chasing debut at Galway (2m2f) in July; has the ability to run well if staying. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 +53%)Kevin's Pride |
7/2(+53%) | (2) Kevin's Pride 7/2, Ran to form when winning an auction hurdle at Cork by 3/4l last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on soft, good; consistent hurdler, more to come over fences. Handles soft ground and can be a player on chasing debut if staying the trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (13/2 +84%)Waittillitellyou |
13/2(+84%) | (3) Waittillitellyou 13/2, Outpaced, unsuited by drop in trip on chase debut comfortably held in a beginners chase chase at Naas last time; effective at around 3m; likely one for handicaps over fences but longer trip should suit. Tailed-off on chasing debut at Naas recently so will have to improve hugely on that. |

YORADREAMER has nice recent form and can put his race fitness to good use. Winner of a Downpatrick maiden hurdle last June, the selection stepped forward when finishing second at Gowran last month. That race's winner finished fourth in a Cheltenham handicap last week, while other useful rivals were in behind. Kevin's Pride defeated a dual subsequent winner over hurdles last October but the testing going here is a concern. Great Attitude landed a touch at Fairyhouse last year and while better than his Galway effort in July, would also prefer a sounder surface.

This trip is a question for YORADREAMER but he has the best chase form, courtesy of his Gowran second last time, and can take this.

13/2(+13%) | (14) Connemara Shore 13/2, Improved in first time cheekpieces 11l third in a handicap hurdle at Naas most recent run; blinkers first time; effective 2 1/2m; point winner needs to build on latest. Fences remain a grey area, as are the new blinkers, and there are trip concerns as well. |

7/1(+7%) | (12) Long Road 7/1, Improved but probably ridden bit too aggressively 15l third in a handicap chase at Thurles most recent run; effective 2 1/2m, suited by cut; point winner could build on latest. Beaten 15l in a Thurles handicap but was placed and good to see him get round. |

(5) (17/2 +15%)Tsavo Park |
17/2(+15%) | (5) Tsavo Park 17/2, Fell in a handicap chase at Thurles latest when staying on, would've placed at least that day; effective 2m-2m6f, acts on any; on good mark, unexposed over fences and the one to beat off unchanged mark. Only 4l down when falling at the last on chase debut at Thurles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 -122%)Lake Chad |
10/1(-122%) | (6) Lake Chad 10/1, Ran to form up in trip at favoured venue just beaten by well handicapped unexposed rival when second beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Thurles latest; effective 2-2 3/4m; good mark if building on recent revival, goes well at Tramore. 14/1(+65%) | (8) Knockbrack Rambler 14/1, Outpaced, unsuited by drop in trip well beaten in a handicap chase at Clonmel latest; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2m, acts on testing ground; yet to take to chasing, needs step up in trip. Dual winner over hurdles but hasn't produced an effort of note since late 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (18/1 -50%)Butty O Brien |
18/1(-50%) | (10) Butty O Brien 18/1, Below form up in class when fourth beaten 19l in a handicap chase at Navan latest; effective 2 1/2m, suited by cut; yet to match hurdle form, struggling since lay off. Dual hurdle winner; 0-4 over fences and will need to step up on her 19l defeat last time. |

20/1(+20%) | (4) Tell Me This 20/1, Found nil down the field in a handicap at Dundalk most recent; off a short-break; sure to want middle-distances on the Flat; in poor form in both codes; all to prove back over fences. Struggled over fences last year and again on the Flat since moving yards. |

(15) (28/1 +15%)Just For Yuse |
28/1(+15%) | (15) Just For Yuse 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Thurles latest; effective 2m-2m3f; in poor form in both codes. Sole placing in eight chases was a very remote second at Punchestown in January. |

First-time blinkered CONNEMARA SHORE remains unexposed and ran nicely over hurdles at Naas 13 days ago. The selection didn't show much on her initial attempts but won a point-to-point last November. She was well supported before exiting at halfway at Navan in January and can win from her current rating. Five-time winner and veteran Lake Chad has been running well and has obvious claims, while Long Road made the frame at Thurles earlier this month.

Difficult. The veteran LAKE CHAD has at least produced three solid efforts on the bounce and he rates the safest proposition.

(7) (40/1 +50%)Tazman Dan |
40/1(+50%) | (7) Tazman Dan 40/1, Modest debut well beaten in a bumper at Limerick only start; off a short-break; likely to need more time. Beaten 32l on debut at Limerick over Christmas and has to improve hugely on that. |

(8) (125/1 -25%)Dlightofdsun |
125/1(-25%) | (8) Dlightofdsun 125/1, Stopped quickly comfortably held in a Mares bumper at Thurles last time; effective 2m, acts on soft; needs plenty more to win a bumper. Some ability on first three bumper starts but was tailed-off last time so others preferred. |

MINELLA MACHINE has already proven himself as a smart performer and his Christmas fourth behind The Mourne Rambler reads very well. Bought for 350,000 euros following his point-to-point success, the selection is a half-brother to two smart winners and could be hard to beat. Willie Mullins' Fitzroy is a sibling to two black-type performers and is likely to be smart, while Coq Noir was purchased for 200,000 euros following a pointing success but is long absent.

Beaten 8l on debut by last week's Cheltenham bumper winner The Mourne Rambler makes a compelling case for MINELLA MACHINE
Ths is the racecard key.
