|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (5/1 +44%)Running Cool |
5/1(+44%) | (6) Running Cool 5/1, Ran to form back from a break beaten 3/4l off a 2lb lower mark here last time; effective 5/6f on sound surface; chance if building on latest. Down in weights and returned to form on stable debut last September; well treated; claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A wide draw coupled with a 5lb penalty could scupper the chances of Woodhay Whisper and although that won't be the case for hat-trick seeker Midnight Call, more is required back in a handicap. Both merit respect nonetheless, as does Running Cool, but ALBERT CEE is preferred. The son of Aclaim found only a subsequent winner too strong over C&D last time out and makes considerable appeal from an unchanged mark.

Bint Havana Gold should fare better back at 6f but RUNNING COOL returns from a break off an appealing mark.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/4 +23%)Lara Antipova |
5/4(+23%) | (5) Lara Antipova 5/4, Ran green but did her best work late and showed speed when runner-up beaten 1/2l in a maiden at Wetherby on her only start. Returning from a long layoff and drawn wide; good chance if ready to roll. Close second on Wetherby debut last June and sets the standard on that form; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (10/3 -11%)Tenzi |
10/3(-11%) | (10) Tenzi 10/3, Sent off favourite but below form up in trip when beaten 4l in a novice at Ffos Las most recently; top course jockey and wide draw. Chance down in trip. Finished third in both runs last summer and she's respected back in trip on her return. |

4th (6) (15/2 +6%)Safe Zone |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Safe Zone 15/2, Fair debut when beaten 3 1/2l in a novice here; shaped as though wanting further. May prefer 7f, acts on AW and typically shows the good attitude of her sire's progeny. Made low-key start over C&D last month and she needs major improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (9/1 -13%)Angela's Baar |
9/1(-13%) | (2) Angela's Baar 9/1, Back to debut level when fourth beaten 3 1/4l in a novice at Thirsk latest; effective at 5/6f. Needs to improve. Went close over 6f in first of her three runs last summer; could be dangerous on return. |

6th (9) (18/1 -80%)Ring Of Diamonds |
18/1(-80%) | (9) Ring Of Diamonds 18/1, 33,000gns Territories filly; dam useful at around 7f; good yard can get one ready and this one could play a part on debut. 33,000gns yearling; yard 24% in maidens last year and she needs a close look on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (80/1 -220%)In Denial |
80/1(-220%) | (7) In Denial 80/1, Outpaced down in trip but improved from debut when beaten 4 1/4l in a novice here last time; wide draw and off a short break. Effective at 5f and a stiff track or 6f may suit better; open to further improvement. Down the field in two runs in December and minor handicaps will be more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (100/1 -300%)Nautical Sky |
100/1(-300%) | (8) Nautical Sky 100/1, Minor late headway when fourth beaten 9l in a maiden here latest; may want 7f and acts on AW. Possibly something to come. Well held at big prices in two runs this year, the latest over C&D. |

150/1(-200%) | (11) Follow My Heart 150/1, Bit slow away but similar form to debut when comfortably held in a maiden here last time; bred to sprint. Workmanlike sort with plenty to prove after two modest runs. Big prices and she's been beaten around 12l in two runs this year, including over C&D. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The form of Tenzi's debut third at Goodwood reads well now and although she disappointed at Ffos Las next time, soft ground might have counted against her. Lara Antipova, Calling A Star and Angela's Baar have each achieved a decent level so far too and can be expected to be on the premises, but a chance is taken on RING OF DIAMONDS. The Territories filly fetched 33,000gns as a yearling and given that the James Tate outfit know how to ready one, a big run would come as no surprise.

Preference is for LARA ANTIPOVA who sets the standard on her second at Wetherby and is open to progress upped in trip on her return.

5th (8) (16/1 +43%)Regatta |
16/1(+43%) | (8) Regatta 16/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a maiden at Newbury on her only start; tongue-tie first time and can surely leave that debut run behind up in trip. Promise amidst inexperience on Newbury debut (7f); tongue tied for return; can do better. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CITY QUEEN was seemingly the stable's second string when making her debut at Newmarket in August, but she did at least make an encouraging start. The daughter of Dubawi already looked in need of a step up in trip on that occasion and now afforded just that, she can take the necessary step forward. Summer Heat is capable but will need a little more to claim gold, whilst Pendella appeals most of the remainder.

It was a useful Newmarket maiden in which CITY QUEEN finished fifth on her debut last summer and she is open to plenty of improvement.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

VON KROLOCK resumed winning ways when sent off favourite for a classified event here recently. James Owen's charge landed a handicap over C&D back in November and, with Ashley Lewis claiming 5lb to aid his cause, he could be the one to side with. River Wharfe is another to consider returning to 7f, while Bad Habits scored here in December and has held his form well since.

A few possibles in an open handicap but PORFIN could be the answer back up in distance. Bad Habits may emerge as the main danger.

BELIEVE IN LIES has yet to add to August's Carlisle success, but gave the impression she would be doing so sooner rather than later when third over C&D a fortnight ago. Beaten less than a length on that occasion, another strong challenge is expected from the daughter of Make Believe. Faster Bee finally opened his account with a recent victory here, but King of The Dance makes more appeal off his current mark.

Top of the list is FASTER BEE (nap), who came good with a dominant display over C&D last Monday and is only 4lb higher under a penalty.

WATERFORD CASTLE was thought good enough to compete in the Listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot last summer. The son of Sea The Stars was switched to George Boughey's yard recently and could be worth chancing on his return to action having also been gelded. Several of the newcomers are worth a second look, notably Spangled Impact, who is a half-brother to a Group 3 winner. He is preferred to both Crown Relic and Street Dancer.

Crown Relic is an interesting newcomer but WATERFORD CASTLE can make a winning start for his new stable.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 -60%)Frontpagemoos |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Frontpagemoos 40/1, Well held but closer up when stepped up in trip on handicap debut, beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Effective up to 10f; up against it returning from an absence. Struggled in her four runs in 2024 and can only be watched back from a long absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This won't take much winning and the vote goes to DESIDERATA, who chased home an in-form rival in a similar C&D event earlier this month. Many of these arrive with something to prove, so Thomas Faulkner's charge must hold every chance of going one place better. Man Is King disappointed at Lingfield but did win at Chelmsford on his penultimate start. Change Of Fortune is next best.

The vote goes to DESIDERATA, who has form figures 14232 in classified events and that latest second was a close call over C&D.

20/1(-150%) | (6) Millbuie 20/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Newcastle last time. Effective over 8-12f and acts on AW, but remains an unreliable maiden. 21-race maiden who has been well held in last five runs; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (12/1 -41%)Grand Harbour |
12/1(-41%) | (4) Grand Harbour 12/1, Took a step back in the right direction when fourth, beaten 3 1/2l in a handicap at Lingfield last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (3/1 -20%)Dash Power |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 -213%)Scarfo |
50/1(-213%) | (9) Scarfo 50/1, Below form when beaten 4l in a classified race here last time. Effective over 7/8f but needs more to be competitive. Sole win was in 2024 and this looks a tough task at the weights; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Just as was the case in the first division of this contest, there are a few that will need to step forward on what they have shown recently. GRAND HARBOUR put a string of lacklustre efforts behind him to finish a creditable fourth at Lingfield latest, though, and whilst favoured at the weights a replication might suffice. Chourmo and Dash Power are feared most.

This looks tricky but it might be worth siding with CHOURMO who had a wider trip than ideal when a good fourth over C&D last time.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/1 -43%)Montu |
5/1(-43%) | (7) Montu 5/1, Ran to form, looking like needing further, when beaten 3 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark at Kempton last time. Wants middle-distances ideally and the step up in trip is a plus. Kept on well on handicap debut over 1m; bred to improve for new trip; of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/4 +58%)Darn Hot Dame |
11/4(+58%) | (5) Darn Hot Dame 11/4, Ran to form, albeit comfortably held, in a novice at Kempton last time. Effective at 8f and middle-distance bred; a big filly who is probably more to come now upped in distance. Some promise at 1m on Tapeta; bred to improve for new trip now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4/1 +11%)Akrivos |
4/1(+11%) | (6) Akrivos 4/1, Sat too far off the pace and finished best when beaten 3 1/2l off this mark here last time. Effective at 7/8f and could improve if getting tactics right up in trip. Came from way back over 1m here latest; well worth a go over new trip; can be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (28/1 -56%)Shes Got The Blues |
28/1(-56%) | (8) Shes Got The Blues 28/1, Ran to her current level off a stiff mark when comfortably held in a handicap at Southwell last time. Top course trainer; effective up to 8f and may have regressed. Close up on final 2yo start (turf) but yet to shine on AW for new yard; new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (8/1 -45%)Sweet Love |
8/1(-45%) | (3) Sweet Love 8/1, Below form and did not get home when upped in trip, beaten 6l in a novice at Kempton last time. Top course jockey booked; returning from a break and effective at 7/8f; mark looks about right but could improve for a longer trip. Well held in sole handicap as 2yo; seems to act on Polytrack; Tapeta debut after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +33%)Attention Seeker |
6/1(+33%) | (1) Attention Seeker 6/1, Raced too freely when held up off a slow pace on his first run after a wind operation, beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap at Newcastle last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (18/1 -80%)Lope Harswell |
18/1(-80%) | (9) Lope Harswell 18/1, Probably did not stay when sixth, beaten 12l off 46 last time, and runs off the same mark here. Cheekpieces on first time; effective at 7/8f, perhaps better at the latter, but stamina to prove. Dead-heated over 7f in December; way back upped to 1m2f since; trip query; headgear on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BERKSHIRE SCHMOKIN ran fresh on his first start since September when finishing only fourth at Chelmsford. He should settle better with that pipe-opener under his belt and looks one to keep on the right side of with Andrew Balding's yard firing on all cylinders. Attention Seeker is another likely improver based on last year's best efforts, while Montu is an unexposed type worthy of a second glance.

Perhaps DARN HOT DAME, who made her debut only in December, can make the most of this first handicap run over a trip that should suit.
Ths is the racecard key.
