Dark Kestrel was back in the winning groove at Newcastle earlier this month, having been successful over the same C&D in February. A 5lb rise looks manageable, but it might pay to side with TOOLATETONEGOTIATE. The four-year-old won at Lingfield before twice running well in a couple of class 4 events. Daisy Hitchins' filly receives a welcome drop in grade while being afforded a 1lb ease in the handicap, and both of those factors could prove crucial. Others to note include Buraback and Brazilian Belle.

This looks the time to catch CHARLIE MASON, reverting in trip with Rossa Ryan back on board. Brazilian Belle is second pick.

With a few of these arriving with a little to prove, a confident vote goes to ADDARELLA. The daughter of Earthlight defeated a subsequent winner on her final start for Marco Botti before posting an excellent second at odds of 66/1 in a warm class 3 on stable debut. A drop to the minimum trip could suit on that evidence but, perhaps crucially, she is afforded an ease in class. Gustav Graves and Hint Of Humour have both been knocking at the door and are unlikely to go down without a fight.

The three runners at the top of the card seem likely to ensure a strong pace. Solid HINT OF HUMOUR is taken to pick up the pieces.

ONE COOL DREAMER was a bit of a mixed bag last year, but he took a step back in the right direction when a narrow second over 1m6f here. It is hard to say he didn't see out the trip given that he was only headed in the dying strides, but he might have a bigger finishing effort in him over this distance and he is preferred to surprise Lingfield scorer Sea Of Charm. John Galt displayed promise in maiden/novice events and is worth considering now switched to handicaps.

Competitive. Last-time-out winner SEA OF CHARM should go well but there are several lurking dangers.

Marry The Night has won four times at Southwell since November. He could be thereabouts at the finish once again, but AMERICAN STATE is taken to edge affairs. The son of Arizona bounced back on his first start after a wind operation when beating a couple of subsequent winners over C&D and Ivan Furtado's charge looks worth sticking with now raised only 2lb. Antiquity arrives in fine fettle and remains of interest off his current mark.

Marry The Night is feared in his current vein of form but AMERICAN STATE could have more in the tank following his wind surgery.

The veteran won over C&D prior to finishing runner-up over 7f at Lingfield and Olivia Tubb's 5lb allowance further helps his cause. Fire Eyes won three times on turf last term, but has also gone close on the Tapeta before. She looks on a fair mark and is preferred to stablemate Coloane and Ernie's Valentine of the rest.

Ernie's Valentine should make a bold bid but EAGLE DAY is on a lowly mark and Rossa Ryan's booking points to a revival.

Worn down in the closing stages, William Haggas' charge will be sharper for that outing and remains on an attractive mark as he bids to go one better. Advancing won nicely at Kempton and cannot be ruled out in this higher grade. He makes more appeal than City Of Poets and Dosman, who are closely matched on collateral form.

This looks a strong field but there is still mileage in DOSMAN's revised mark. City Of Poets is feared most.
