|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (33/1 -288%)Tribesmans Glory |
33/1(-288%) | (6) Tribesmans Glory 33/1, Raced freely when fourth beaten by 62 lengths in a handicap chase at Warwick last time; back on the same mark as his previous win; significant jockey booking; could be a decent each way chance Only effort of note this year was his third at Chepstow in March; others safer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SPECIAL DRAGON is gradually getting the hang of chasing and followed home an improving gelding at Uttoxeter. Off the same mark, she may be able to go one better, although Greenrock Abbey has joined James Owen since his Bangor fourth and might improve enough for it to make a nuisance of himself. Two miles around Ffos Las was probably too sharp for Calli Black on her fencing bow and she will be happier at this trip.

James Owen's new recruit GREENROCK ABBEY is very well handicapped if he can turn a corner.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 -48%)Mermaids Cave |
10/3(-48%) | (1) Mermaids Cave 10/3, Travelled really well when winning by 4 lengths at Huntingdon on penultimate start; she then finished second only beaten 2 lengths last time; her 2nd ever chase start; back over fences here; she's in-form and could go well A much better mare now than when she last tried fences; competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (5/2 +25%)Somespring Special |
5/2(+25%) | (3) Somespring Special 5/2, The most experienced chaser with three wins in ten runs; well backed when winning by 7 lengths at Wincanton three starts back; second beaten 6 lengths last time; has been in good form in her three runs since changing yards; may contend Might be at her best over a bit shorter but arrives here in form and has clear claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ile De Jersey warmed up for another crack at fences with a determined defeat of Masked Dance at Aintree, and that runner-up chased home Mermaids Cave at Huntingdon a week previously. The latter is also restarting her chasing career and does so on the back of a Cartmel second, but SOMESPRING SPECIAL is actually proven in this sphere. The seven-year-old has hit the crossbar twice since a good Wincanton triumph and seems the most reliable. Isabella Bee can't be ruled out either.

The 7yo SOMESPRING SPECIAL might be better over shorter but she stays this far, is in form and has an edge in chasing experience.

|F| (3) (8/13 -146%)Leading Force |
8/13(-146%) | (3) Leading Force 8/13, Form figures of 21 since joining James Owen's yard; well backed when landing a handicap by 6 and a 1/2 lengths over 3m at Uttoxeter last time; visor on for the first time; the pick on balance of form Yet another horse to turn a corner for James Owen; could easily follow up Uttoxeter win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/1 -25%)Micronormous |
5/1(-25%) | (4) Micronormous 5/1, Pulled up in first run after wind operation last time over 3m at Southwell; top jockey booked; on same mark as last time she won; value selection based on balance of form Modest run after wind op but has the form to feature and is a winning chaser. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LEADING FORCE successfully reverted to the bigger obstacles when justifying odds-on favouritism at Uttoxeter. Those who took the short price would have been forgiven for throwing their tickets away early in the straight, but he knuckled down and the application of a visor may help him. Masterdream was last of four on that occasion but might close the gap a bit, and Micronormous should do better now back over fences.

It's probably best to rely on LEADING FORCE who is yet another success story for James Owen.

Related to Champion Hurdle winner Rooster Booster, NANA NOODLEMAN has the pedigree to excel in this sphere, while connections have a particularly good record at this track. Narrowly denied in a point-to-point last month, Son Of Tyran could be a decent recruit to this sphere for the Skeltons, while Lovis De Sceaux looks best of those with experience, having run with credit when second at Hereford for previous connections.

Son Of Tyran and Nana Noodleman are likely contenders but LOVIS DE SCEAUX got to within 2l of a fairly useful horse at Hereford.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Now in the hands of trainer Ben Case after getting off the mark over hurdles at Killarney last month, ROMANY BROWN may have plenty more improvement forthcoming and can go in again. Another one switching stables after a promising start in bumpers, Noble Miss is a key player, along with Dynamite Defense, who looks an intriguing recruit to the Olly Murphy yard.

Romany Brown is solid but it's not hard to give another chance to SQUIRE DANAGHER was pretty smart on the Flat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dan Skelton's string have been going well of late and this appeals as an ideal opportunity for MADAJOVY to get off the mark on his hurdles bow following a pair of promising efforts in bumpers. A well-bred sort by Affinisea, Three Figs may be the pick of the newcomers for powerful connections, while Never Told Me could find improvement for joining the Fergal O'Brien stable.

Preference is for NEVER TOLD ME who ran quite well in the Cheltenham bumper won by the promising Poetisa.

I'M A STARMAN struck by over two lengths over track and trip last time and may have been let off lightly with just a 6lb rise. The 12-year-old is in the form of his life at present and looks the one to beat again. Tropical Speed failed to justify favouritism when third at Ffos Las last month, but he might be worth another chance. Last-time-out Southwell scorer Faded Fantasy is another to note.

If a highest mark since March 2022 finds I'm A Starman out, it may be TROPICAL SPEED (nap) who proves best placed to capitalise.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (9/4 -147%)Dollymount |
9/4(-147%) | (6) Dollymount 9/4, Yet to win a race under rules; stable debut for James Owen; top jockey booked; yard do very well with their new recruits; wearing hood for first time today; could be the improver Work to do on previous Irish form, but new yard continues in fine form; interesting.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LEAVE HER TO ME successfully completed a double at Warwick on her most recent outing and she now has a 6lb higher mark to contend with. The daughter of Kayf Tara could take this step up in class in her stride, with her main threat possibly being Rockola after her runner-up effort at Fontwell last time. Lahinch Wave makes only her second start in a handicap and is another to watch out for.

Irish import DOLLYMOUNT may appreciate this galloping 2m4f and can make a winning British debut, ahead of Lahinch Wave.
Ths is the racecard key.
