1st (1) (5/4 +0%)Jubilant |
5/4(+0%) | (1) Jubilant 5/4, Outpaced, rallied, improved up in trip on chase debut aided by race developing early scored by 1/2l off 115 over 3m2f at Southwell penultimate start; well treated up 3lb, ran to form third beaten 4 1/2l off 118 last time; potential threat First and third in his two chases and looks sure to give his running once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/4 +18%)Davidoc |
9/4(+18%) | (3) Davidoc 9/4, Ran to form but never threatened ridden to see out the trip fourth beaten 6l in a handicap chase at Stratford latest; usually held up; minor chance if stamina holds up but that is a concern Winning hurdler who is 0-7 over fences but has been running well in defeat at up to 2m6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (2/1 -7%)Paddy De Pole |
2/1(-7%) | (2) Paddy De Pole 2/1, Needed run, big drifter comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot last time; trainer in form; longer trip a plus on chase debut; strong claims Three-time hurdle winner and, given his yard, he may well do better over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A creditable third over C&D last time after scoring over further at Southwell on his penultimate start, JUBILANT sets the standard on form, with champion jockey Sean Bowen getting back on board another positive. Runner-up on two of his last three starts, Davidoc has the potential to improve for going up in trip and can have a say, along with chasing newcomer Paddy De Pole, who is better than what he showed over hurdles at Newton Abbot in May.

Any of the three could win. PADDY DE POLE is the one who lacks chasing experience but these Nicholls novices are always well schooled.

1st (4) (2/1 -23%)King Of The Story |
2/1(-23%) | (4) King Of The Story 2/1, Travelled, readily, returned to form landing a handicap by 5 1/2l off 71 here last time; remains well treated on best form; can follow up Belatedly doubled his tally when readily coming clear of Henry Box Brown over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 +20%)Henry Box Brown |
2/1(+20%) | (2) Henry Box Brown 2/1, Returned to form jumping much better second beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap chase here latest; generally consistent; may contend Chased home King Of The Story here recently and he has a 6lb pull on the winner. |

9/2(-100%) | (6) Deal Em High 9/2, Travelled, improved up in trip landing a handicap by 2l off 70 here last time; sound surface suits; contender Out of the weights when winning here recently so 1lb lower with a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +55%)Rathmacknee |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Rathmacknee 9/2, Ran to form just flattening out late back from break fourth beaten 7l in a handicap chase over 2m1f here latest; should come on for that; has dropped a long way in weights; stamina concerns There was enough in his latest race here to believe he might yet come good again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (100/1 +0%)Wee Willie Nail |
100/1(+0%) | (3) Wee Willie Nail 100/1, Mistakes, yet to take to chasing comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Stratford last time; difficult to fancy Disappointing since winning an Irish maiden hurdle in 2022; hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (7) (11/1 +50%)Forget You Not |
11/1(+50%) | (7) Forget You Not 11/1, Below form, made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m at Warwick last time; generally out of form; off a short-break; opposed Didn't run badly from the front at Warwick (2m, good) but that was three months ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KING OF THE STORY could not have done it much easier when seeing off the reopposing Henry Box Brown (second) over C&D last time out, and a 1lb pull at the weights for the latter should not be enough to overturn that form. A taking winner himself over track and trip last week, Deal Em High is entitled to be thereabouts again off 4lb higher.

King Of The Story won well here last time but HENRY BOX BROWN got going all too late and he has a 6lb pull on the winner.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (5/1 +44%)Noble Cave |
5/1(+44%) | (7) Noble Cave 5/1, Bit below form, taken on up front and did much too soon comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; inconsistent in short career; bit to find Fading third on comeback run at Warwick and again a weakener when beaten 16l here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (7/1 -17%)Prince Cleni |
7/1(-17%) | (5) Prince Cleni 7/1, Fell in a handicap chase here latest when would've placed; sound surface suits; contender in tight contest All chase wins at Southwell; beaten but running well when falling two out here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (33/1 -560%)Presenting Belle |
33/1(-560%) | (2) Presenting Belle 33/1, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 92 over 3m at Uttoxeter last time; blinkers first time; absent for very lengthy period; significant jockey booking; more to come over fences but likely to need this 3m chase winner for Lucy Wadham two years ago but later departed that yard for 1,000gns. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tentative vote goes to GRILLON DE MONTY, who was not suited to dropping back to near the minimum trip here last time and is much better judged on his penultimate second over 3m at Warwick in May. That form may be enough to land this contest, with To Be Sure looking best placed to chase him home. Not in action since scoring at Uttoxeter in June 2023, Presenting Belle is one to note on her return for new connections, as well as Radharc Na Slaine, who drops in trip.

Off bottom weight there could be a big run in RADHARC NA SLAINE who was in fair form until last time.

1st (4) (7/2 +56%)Play Pretend |
7/2(+56%) | (4) Play Pretend 7/2, Unseated in a handicap hurdle here latest; in good form prior; sound surface suits; may contend in tight contest Ran okay last month, after a break, but is yet to build upon last spring's fortunate win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 +33%)Mix Of Clover |
5/1(+33%) | (1) Mix Of Clover 5/1, Every chance, returned to form back down in trip just caught late by race fit rivals beaten 3 1/4l off 108 over 2m1f here last time; should come on for latest run; good mark on chase form; strong claims Not very reliable but ran quite well in recent chase here; back hurdling on workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (1/2 +67%)Kopa Kilana |
1/2(+67%) | (5) Kopa Kilana 1/2, Ran to form, struck into 4l third in a selling hurdle at Hexham most recent run; steadily progressive; significant jockey booking; off a short-break; well treated back in a handicap; every chance Claimed by Olly Murphy after finishing third in Hexham seller in May; interesting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Kopa Kilana remains a maiden over hurdles, but he wasn't beaten far when third at Hexham and could mount a challenge on stable debut for Olly Murphy. Mix Of Clover returns to the smaller obstacles after a creditable third over fences here last month and he warrants respect, but EZ TIGER is preferred. An unchallenged two-length C&D winner off 4lb lower last month, when he made all the running, he is entitled to do even better after that first start in seven months.

The most interesting runner is KOPA KILANA (nap), who is 0-21 over hurdles but has a workable mark for this stable debut.

125/1(-213%) | (4) Mount Rinjani 125/1, Fourth beaten 39l in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Market Rasen latest where went too fast; longer trip could suit; difficult to fancy 150-1 and well beaten when fourth on recent stable/hurdle debut at Market Rasen (2m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (100/1 0%)He'sgotsometoe |
100/1(0%) | (2) He'sgotsometoe 100/1, Poor hurdle debut comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m4f here last time; hard to recommend A long way behind Betty's Tiara when 50-1 for recent hurdling debut here (2m4f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With plenty of in-form options to work with it is Emma Lavelle's CALL TO DUTY who appears the likeliest winner after his two and a half length second over C&D in May. He did well in the circumstances that day after pulling too hard and if he learns to settle, he could go one better. Dual point-to-point winner Jullou De Grissay appears a huge danger after only being beaten a head at Market Rasen in June, followed by Betty's Tiara, who has come home second five times since winning her bumper.

Ben Pauling's BETTY'S TIARA did little wrong when second on her last two 2m4f starts and has a good chance if this longer trip suits.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (9/1 -50%)Getaways Gift |
9/1(-50%) | (9) Getaways Gift 9/1, Keen, outpaced fourth beaten 48l in a novice hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell latest; blinkers first time; off a short-break; step up in trip a big plus; good mark on bumper form; very interesting on handicap debut No significant promise in her qualifying runs but is hiked up in trip for handicap debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/1 -120%)Shandancer |
11/1(-120%) | (4) Shandancer 11/1, Suited by the ground, ran to form beaten 2l off 99 over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time; off a long absence; top jockey booked; good mark but needs to prove ability remains In good form when last seen last spring and Harry Cobden is an interesting booking. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Shandancer boosts solid form after a second at Bangor to Regal And Royal, who has won since, but he has been off for over a year and may have to settle for a place here. Indian Sunbird may have idled in front before holding on to win by a head at Southwell in May, but an added 5lb from the handicapper seems harsh enough, and HAMMER DAN is preferred. Two victories last year have been followed by two seconds in 2025 and he could get back to winning ways, despite a further 3lb rise.

Top of the list is THE FLYING POET, who bumped into a resurgent rival when second on his handicap debut and had excuses last time.

7th (8) (40/1 +0%)Jackie Diamond |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Jackie Diamond 40/1, Dwelt, outpaced, may have found ground a bit quick well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; generally out of form; lot to find The odd glimmer of promise but any case to be made is not a solid one. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

More aggressive tactics saw Orange Diamond posting his best effort on these shores when finishing second over C&D in May. The seven-year-old warrants respect on his stable bow for Tom Ellis, but there is a sneaking suspicion that NACHTGEIST could leave his fifth-placed yard debut at Market Rasen behind. An extended 2m looked too sharp for the son of Highland Reel and moving up to 2m4f may prove fruitful. Boskill Borden is also noted.

A chance is taken on ORANGE DIAMOND who lost his way completely after arriving from France but ran much better here last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The application of a first-time visor enabled SIXTY PLUS to produce his best hurdles performance to date when filling the runner-up spot over 2m here earlier this month. A 1lb nudge from the assessor may prove inconsequential now faced with a greater emphasis on stamina and the five-year-old could be poised to open his account.
