The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FAT SAM looked to be coming back to form with a two-length second over C&D earlier in the month. Although not expected to recapture past glories at the age of 11, he has won four times over fences, all of them off higher marks. Isocrate failed to build on his Warwick victory when a distant fourth at Uttoxeter, but a drop in class and first-time cheekpieces may see him get back to his best, leaving Dexter as another to consider upped in trip after his Uttoxeter second.

After going close this month, DEXTER (nap) can come good for his much respected new stable at the second attempt.

|PU| (7) (22/1 -22%)Scarlet O'tara |
22/1(-22%) | (7) Scarlet O'tara 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Uttoxeter latest; yet to take to chasing; fair mark on best hurdle form; risky Pulled up in his first two chases; big leap of faith required to support her. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

An interesting renewal and one where Heroique De Maulde may prove popular after winning by two and a quarter lengths at Bangor after coming late from off the pace. An added 5lb makes his life tougher against in-form opposition, a comment that also applies to Fever Dream, upped 4lb for a recent C&D success. TIGER ORCHID could go close as a triple course and distance winner, the latest off 5lb higher in June 2024, and with first-time blinkers added. Sam Twiston-Davies rides for the Newland/Insole team and he looks the stable pick ahead of Scarlet O'Tara.

The suggestion is chasing debutant DEEP PURPLE, who won a point in spring 2024 and didn't hang about over hurdles for long.

150/1(-355%) | (9) Lizzielooe 150/1, Dartmouth filly; half-sister to Getmetothemoon, fair at 15f; hood first time; watching brief advised Half-sister to a low-grade hurdle winner; hooded on debut; probably best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dontcontradictme caught the eye when third at Market Rasen on his only start after weakening late on to miss out on second behind an odds-on winner. Frammy wasn't beaten far when fourth at Bangor in June and the fact that he has had wind surgery since makes him of interest, but MIDNIGHT PASS could be the one. A two-length second on debut over C&D to a Gordon Elliott-trained favourite who was landing her hat-trick, that form looks the best on offer in this field.

Top of the list is Market Rasen third DONTCONTRADICTME, who arguably has the most compelling form.

5th (5) (11/2 +39%)Zucayan |
11/2(+39%) | (5) Zucayan 11/2, Likes it here, improved on recent form scored by 3 1/2l off 99 at Ludlow penultimate start; made a noise in running fifth beaten 24l off 104 last time; off a short-break; bit to find Gained all three wins at Ludlow; well held off this career-high mark at Southwell in June. |

|F| (6) (20/1 -186%)Chelsea Annie |
20/1(-186%) | (6) Chelsea Annie 20/1, Travelled, improved benefitting from patient ride off strong pace won a novice hurdle here by 3l last time; could progress again now handicapping but must do to defy this mark Shock winner of C&D novice last month; probably needs to improve again in this handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having got the better of an easy subsequent winner over C&D earlier this month, SCINTILLANTE is likely to prove a warm order to follow up. The pair were 28 lengths clear of the third and an 8lb rise for Alastair Ralph's charge looks workable. The biggest threat may emerge from Spot On Soph, who has posted three creditable efforts in defeat this season, while Bannister could also feature if settling better.

Alastair Ralph's SCINTILLANTE won fairly comfortably over C&D three weeks ago, and the runner-up easily went one better here recently.

|PU| (3) (200/1 +20%)Sir Rodney |
200/1(+20%) | (3) Sir Rodney 200/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability in bumpers; absent for very lengthy period; all to do Completely tailed off in bumpers at Newbury and at Warwick (soft both times). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Cephalus has proved a useful servant on the Flat and he could go close if transferring his ability on this hurdles bow. However, all 10 of the six-year-old's career victories have been recorded on the all-weather and he has yet to score beyond 1m. With that in mind, WHATYOUWAITINGFOR rates as the most solid proposition after filling the runner-up spot twice at Stratford this month. Aslukgoes may give the selection most to think about if building on his second-placed reappearance over C&D.

It remains to be seen whether ASLUKGOES will return to the smart level he showed in bumpers but he could still be the answer to this.

200/1(0%) | (10) Molly's Angel 200/1, Poor effort well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m4f here latest; generally out of form; all to do Well beaten at big odds here (2m4f) this month, after a long absence.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Katana's latest second-placed stable bow over C&D took a knock when the winner proved uncompetitive off an opening mark of 105 at Uttoxeter recently. Robert Stephens' inmate cannot be ruled out in this open affair, but he could be worth taking on with TILEHURST. The four-year-old found only a subsequent winner too strong on his hurdles debut over track and trip last month and a repeat may prove sufficient. Stable debutant Rock On Pedro would make more appeal over further, but he cannot be dismissed under the tutelage of Olly Murphy.

The suggestion is TILEHURST, who went down fighting over C&D on last month's hurdling debut and probably still has potential.

PRIVILEGE has taken the silver medal home at Newton Abbot the last twice and remains on a workable mark. The seven-year-old looks well placed to go one better. Independent Jimmy has undergone a wind operation since finishing second at Bangor last month and has to be respected off an unchanged rating. Of the remainder, Jager Time makes the most appeal.

Sixty Plus is 8lb well in under a penalty but a chance is taken on handicap debutant JAGER TIME who is ready for this longer trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FINE BY ME occupied the runner-up berth over track and trip earlier in the month and is just 1lb higher. The eight-year-old will need to produce a career-best effort to win this but he might be capable of doing so. Star Legend made the frame in this grade at Stratford on his latest effort over hurdles and should remain competitive off the same mark, while Jack The Savage is another to note.

Another chance is readily given to LYNESS DANCER, who was a very convincing winner on her stable debut and had excuses last time.
Ths is the racecard key.
