1st (4) (13/2 +13%)Makes Me Wonder |
13/2(+13%) | (4) Makes Me Wonder 13/2, Only beaten about 3l off 57 penultimate start in a handicap, but below that last time when 7th of 8 at Southwell last time; not proven trip; off a short-break Out of the frame in all six starts on the AW; bred to be better than he has shown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (11/2 +45%)Zappata |
11/2(+45%) | (9) Zappata 11/2, Well held all starts and never a factor in first-time tongue-tie in a novice over 7f at Kempton last time; cheekpieces first time may help a bit The longer trip should suit on handicap debut and worth a market check; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2/1 +0%)Me Tarzan |
2/1(+0%) | (3) Me Tarzan 2/1, Ran to form beaten 1 1/4l off 52 over 7f at Kempton last time; up in trip; as good on turf and looks nicely weighted Steadily progressing at a modest level; has shaped as though 1m will suit; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 +22%)Latona |
7/1(+22%) | (1) Latona 7/1, Well beaten back on turf 5 1/4l 6th in a handicap here last time; fair effort on AW previous start and not badly handicapped on that 0-6 but ran better than it may have looked over C&D last time and this is a drop in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (28/1 -40%)No Gain |
28/1(-40%) | (10) No Gain 28/1, Only beaten 3/4l off 45 at Wolverhampton penultimate start and did not get a clear run beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Chelmsford last time; tongue-tie first time; could figure, but needs to settle Close fourth on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in February but not so good last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -9%)Amber Honey |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Amber Honey 12/1, Raced freely beaten 3 1/2l off 53 at Redcar last time; generally progressive though mark is not that generous based on achievements so far Ran better when fifth on handicap/turf debut at Redcar 15 days go; may progress a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (7/1 -56%)All Cost |
7/1(-56%) | (5) All Cost 7/1, Consistent at a low level on the AW; not proven in turf, but can contend places if handles it Narrowly failed to land a gamble on handicap debut at Kempton but held three times since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (33/1 +34%)Tiana Rose |
33/1(+34%) | (8) Tiana Rose 33/1, Beaten 2 3/4l in a nursery off 56 in September; nicely weighted on that, but very poor since, twice recently; hard to fancy Third on nursery debut at Brighton in September but well held in three starts on AW since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (12/1 +14%)Sir Kenny |
12/1(+14%) | (7) Sir Kenny 12/1, Pretty well beaten all starts; trainer in form; tongue-tie tried having had wind operation; lots to prove Probably of interest only if attracting support on handicap debut; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (150/1 -127%)Runnindown A Dream |
150/1(-127%) | (11) Runnindown A Dream 150/1, Well beaten all starts, largely in very low grade events; can't be considered until showing some ability Has beaten just one rival in four starts over 5f-7f on the AW; best to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (40/1 -60%)Late Star |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Late Star 40/1, No worthwhile form; up in trip; plenty more needed Beat a total of one rival in three starts over 7f last year; major improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (11/1 +56%)In The Sunshine |
11/1(+56%) | (6) In The Sunshine 11/1, Poor form in novices; probably fair mark for handicap debut, but plenty to prove off a break Improvement needed on handicap debut after six months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ME TARZAN returned from a 183-day break to make the frame at Kempton earlier in the month and competes off the same mark here. James Fanshawe's gelding looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark. Amber Honey showed more when fifth on her first start in a handicap at Redcar last time and may get into contention off a 1lb lower rating. Latona is the pick of the remainder.

The vote goes to LATONA whose latest effort here could be forgiven. She travelled well into that race and this is a drop in class.

1st (1) (5/1 -11%)Alkuwarrior |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Alkuwarrior 5/1, Three fair efforts and probably made too much use of fourth beaten 2l in a maiden at Brighton latest; light-framed, fast action and has shown plenty of speed; behind Justice Twice in the Brocklesby Has shown ability the last twice but also his limitations; vulnerable to a newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 -13%)Justice Twice |
9/2(-13%) | (5) Justice Twice 9/2, Finished 9th of the 17 in the Brocklesb, but was only beaten 3 1/2l; should improve for that run and down in class here; opportunity Midfield in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last month; open to improvement but needs it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 +41%)Moretons |
13/8(+41%) | (4) Moretons 13/8, 11 Mar; 100,000gns Cotai Glory colt; half-brother to Rescue Mission, useful at 7f; dam half-sister to 5f Group 2 winner; not cheap by any means and one to watch in the market Something to like on breeding; stable does have 2yo winners first time out; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8/1 +20%)Booziebrunch |
8/1(+20%) | (2) Booziebrunch 8/1, 27 Mar; 40,000gns Coulsty colt; dam smart (Listed-placed) at 6f at 2yo and half-sister to a couple of winners; worth a look in the market Enough to like on breeding and stable can get them ready first time; market informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (16/1 -60%)Greek Gold |
16/1(-60%) | (3) Greek Gold 16/1, 6 May; Magna Grecia colt; first foal; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo, half-sister to top-class 10f mare Arabian Queen; probably need further and time Stable has few go in first time and being such a late foal he may be one for later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/2 -40%)Magic Box |
7/2(-40%) | (6) Magic Box 7/2, 4 Apr; £34,000 Showcasing filly; half-sister to Boy Browning, very useful at 6f; dam fair at 7f at 2yo; top course trainer; one to consider, but looks a lesser light of yard on pedigree and price Top stable has a good record with 2yo newcomers; market will be revealing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MAGIC BOX cost 34,000 pounds as a yearling and is a half-sister to Boy Browning, who was a winner over 6f as a juvenile. With William Haggas' string starting the season in fine order, it would be no surprise to see her make an instant impression in a winnable contest. Greek Gold's dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Arabian Queen, so he may be seen in a better light as he takes a step up in trip. Alkuwarrior brings the most experience to the table and will be looking to put that to good use.

This may go to MORETONS who cost a bit as a yearling and has more than enough in his pedigree to make him of interest.

1st (4) (5/6 -25%)Queen Of Thieves |
5/6(-25%) | (4) Queen Of Thieves 5/6, Promise debut at 2yo and beaten favourite in what was probably quite a good fillies' maiden over 10f at Newbury second start; trainer in form; should stay up in trip; the one to beat Sister to top-class Cracksman; entitled to improve and should appreciate the stiffer test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/10 +12%)Miss Wong |
11/10(+12%) | (3) Miss Wong 11/10, Staying on when 2 1/2l third in a maiden over 8f at Nottingham in heavy second start; longer trip could suit, but may need run off a break Dam was a 1m4f Listed winner for the yard; step up in trip looks sure to suit this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (200/1 -33%)Bovey Belle |
200/1(-33%) | (1) Bovey Belle 200/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability; blinkers first time; all to do Started massive prices for two AW starts, finishing a tailed-off last on each occasion. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (25/1 -14%)Highland Midge |
25/1(-14%) | (2) Highland Midge 25/1, Golden Horn filly; first foal; dam very useful at 10f; trip should suit, may need a bit of time First foal of trainer's 1m2f winner The Jean Genie; yard still to get rolling for the year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

QUEEN OF THIEVES finished a fair third on her return to action at Newbury earlier in the month and it would be no surprise to see her take a big step forward from that effort. This step up in trip could unlock further improvement and she looks the one to beat. Miss Wong showed ability on both of her starts as a juvenile and needs to be taken seriously, while Highland Midge faces a tough task on debut.

The step up to middle distances can only suit MISS WONG this year and she's preferred to Queen Of Thieves in what looks a match.

4/1(-14%) | (6) Keble Spirit 4/1, Probably needed race well beaten in a maiden over 8f at Kempton latest; trainer in form; up in trip; chance on best maiden/novice form Bred to be better than he has shown and stepping up in trip on handicap debut should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/1 -9%)Babylon |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Babylon 6/1, Well backed beaten 2l in a novice over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; consistent; up in trip; off a short-break; not out of it The longer trip should suit on breeding and he's worth a second look on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (28/1 +15%)Squires Treaty |
28/1(+15%) | (11) Squires Treaty 28/1, Below par down the field in a handicap over 8f here most recent run and form has been going the wrong way; up in trip; bit to prove Placed over 1m in his first three AW handicaps but has regressed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (33/1 -175%)Georginio |
33/1(-175%) | (3) Georginio 33/1, Weak in the market beaten 4l off 68 over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; returning from a break; generally reliable and could figure In frame in four of five starts in AW handicaps; bit to prove on turf after 122 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (10/3 +17%)Something Splendid |
10/3(+17%) | (8) Something Splendid 10/3, Did not get a clear run beaten 2l off 66 over 8f at Nottingham last time; up in trip; one good run as a novice and would contend if finding that form Looked unfortunate not to go even closer when third on his seasonal/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (40/1 -82%)Hamdani Cruiser |
40/1(-82%) | (9) Hamdani Cruiser 40/1, Made too much use of down the field in a maiden over 8f at Lingfield most recent run; returning from a break; squeak on form of penultimate start, but up in trip Some ability on AW; needs a market watch on handicap/turf debut after 140 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (2/1 +56%)Requiem |
2/1(+56%) | (7) Requiem 2/1, Wide trip beaten 9l in a novice over 7f at Chelmsford last time, but well beaten all starts and plenty to find Makes handicap/turf debut after six months off; no surprise if he takes a big step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (15/2 +25%)Divot |
15/2(+25%) | (5) Divot 15/2, Raced freely fourth beaten 6l in a novice over 7f at Southwell latest; steadily progressive; up in trip; not without claims Makes his handicap debut after 196 days off; bred to appreciate the longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (25/1 -257%)Sonic Pioneer |
25/1(-257%) | (2) Sonic Pioneer 25/1, Suited by step-up to 9f when scored by a length off 60 over at Wolverhampton penultimate start and got 10f last time; not the easiest mark, but in good form and contender First and second in two handicaps on the AW; respected if transferring that form to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (50/1 -52%)Beachborough Girl |
50/1(-52%) | (10) Beachborough Girl 50/1, Did not get a clear run well beaten in a novice over 9f at Wolverhampton latest; up in trip; bit to find, but open to improvement Out of frame in three starts; makes handicap debut; bred to be better than she has shown. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sonic Pioneer arrives in good form and if he takes to the turf at the first attempt he could go well. Divot looks interesting ahead of his handicap debut with the step up in trip expected to bring improvement, but SOMETHING SPLENDID might be the one. Third on his first start for Peter Chapple-Hyam over shorter at Nottingham last month, he was repeatedly denied a clear run that day but was still beaten less than two lengths.

It may be worth siding with handicap debutant REQUIEM, whose seven winning siblings include three with triple-figure RPRs.

1st (6) (5/2 -100%)Rebel Star |
5/2(-100%) | (6) Rebel Star 5/2, Well backed beaten a head off 54 at Chelmsford last time and has been knocking on the door; looks well handicapped based on last two starts; the one to beat if takes to turf (only one inconclusive run on debut) 2nd on last three starts; the visor has helped and she's on the shortlist up a fair 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (6/1 -33%)Coolagh Magic |
6/1(-33%) | (4) Coolagh Magic 6/1, Game when scored by 1 1/4l off 60 at Lingfield in February; bit below that form since though running fairly consistently; hasn't raced on turf since 2022 and that is a worry Hasn't run on turf since 2022; in fair form of late and has a 5lb lower mark on grass. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/1 +36%)Banana |
9/1(+36%) | (8) Banana 9/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap over 6f at Wolverhampton last time; better judged on 2 3/4l defeat off 46 previous start; bit to find at the weights based on that Longstanding, low-level maiden who hasn't run on turf in almost three years; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (17/2 +58%)Hint Of The Jungle |
17/2(+58%) | (3) Hint Of The Jungle 17/2, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap at Southwell on reappearance; has regressed badly since September 2023 and very hard to fancy until showing signs of return to form Pulled hard when a well-beaten last for his new yard (AW) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (13/2 +35%)It's Showtime |
13/2(+35%) | (5) It's Showtime 13/2, Below par beaten 3 1/4l off 58 at Southwell last time and tongue-tie first time here; chance based on 1/2l defeat off 57 previous start and level of form similar on turf Well treated back on turf; the return of the usual headgear/tongue-tie is a positive too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/1 +50%)Cabeza De Llave |
7/1(+50%) | (2) Cabeza De Llave 7/1, Probably needed race beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton on seasonal debut; in good form prior on AW and turf last year; only fair mark, but likely to run race and be thereabouts Hasn't shone in his two starts here; didn't offer any immediate promise on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (14/1 -56%)Sir Rodneyredblood |
14/1(-56%) | (7) Sir Rodneyredblood 14/1, Very well treated on recent narrow Chelmsford win off 57, but didn't look nearly as good on turf last term; chance, but clearly very risky Doesn't run often on turf but likes it here and is better treated than on the AW; chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Rebel Star is an obvious contender after coming home second on her last three starts, going down by half a length, a short head and a head, but a chance is taken on IT'S SHOWTIME. Conrad Allen does well with his small string and, with Taryn Langley claiming 7lb off the four-year-old's back, she can go close back in this class on her return to grass. Although last of 10 on his return at Wolverhampton, Cabeza De Llave missed the break and is easily forgiven.

Rebel Star remains open to improvement but IT'S SHOWTIME returns to grass on a handy mark and gets the nod back in headgear.

6/5(+64%) | (1) Maelstrom 6/5, Consistent in maiden and novices and ran to form 8l third in a novice at Redcar most recent run back in October; top trainer; open to progress Looks to be starting handicap life at sensible level for his powerful yard; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (13/2 +28%)Cooramook |
13/2(+28%) | (8) Cooramook 13/2, Ran to form 5l third in a maiden at Chelmsford on seasonal debut; could come on for that and would not be out of it if did Looks to go handicapping off a workable mark and remains open to improvement; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (16/1 -113%)The Feminine Urge |
16/1(-113%) | (7) The Feminine Urge 16/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 1/2l off 65 over 5f at Catterick last time; up in trip; in the mix if reproducing that return to form Will be suited by this extra 1f if able to reproduce her latest effort off the same mark. |

10/1(-150%) | (2) Blue Empress 10/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 68 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; down in trip; consistent and the pick on balance of form Exposed maiden; has been fine with 7f and needs more for the return to sprinting/turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (15/2 +6%)Gorgeous Mr George |
15/2(+6%) | (9) Gorgeous Mr George 15/2, Slowly away fourth beaten 6l in a maiden over 5f at Chelmsford latest; up in trip; chance based on form of good second penultimate start, but could be flattered Again looked ready for another crack at this trip last time; has improvement in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/1 -150%)Maids Head |
10/1(-150%) | (3) Maids Head 10/1, Well backed beaten 1 1/2l off 68 over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; down in trip; reliable and threat Consistent since entering 7f handicaps on the AW; needs more over an easy 6f back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -106%)Rokuni |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Rokuni 33/1, Well backed fourth beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Wolverhampton latest and generally consistent; mark easing; in the mix Held off a sliding mark for this yard, including back down to 6f in a visor last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (22/1 -38%)Up The Monk |
22/1(-38%) | (5) Up The Monk 22/1, Weak in the market 9 1/2l third in a novice over 7f at Wolverhampton most recent run; down in trip; bit to find, but still unexposed Showed enough in three AW runs this year to suggest he can make an impact now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (7/1 +42%)Sands Of Havana |
7/1(+42%) | (4) Sands Of Havana 7/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 5l in a novice over 7f at Chelmsford last time; cheekpieces first time; drop in trip could help Will find life easier now handicapping but needs to improve for first-time headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

COORAMOOK was weak in the betting ahead of her Chelmsford return, but she finished a pleasing third. The Harry Eustace-trained daughter of Mehmas goes handicapping from a potentially lenient mark and given that she's a half-sister to useful sprinter Eminny, she could find progress back on turf. Maelstrom flattered to deceive at times last year, but he is in good hands and much better is expected. Others to note include Blue Empress and Maids Head.

Cooramook is worth a look but this can go to MAELSTROM, who's evidently thought capable of better.

7/2(+22%) | (4) Berry Clever 7/2, Probably needed race 6 1/2l third in a handicap over 7f at Kempton on reappearance; two wins at Kempton prior, latter by 3/4l off 68; up in trip; could strip fitter and go well 7lb higher than when going close over C&D this time last year but should go well again. |

3rd (1) (10/11 +34%)Gincident |
10/11(+34%) | (1) Gincident 10/11, Well backed when scored by a neck off 72 over 7f at Leicester penultimate start; backed that up third beaten 3/4l off 75 last time; should go close again Yet another to bounce back for the switch to this yard; holds leading claims once more. |

9/2(+10%) | (2) Corundum 9/2, Good form in novices last term; looks on fair opening mark; trainer in form; down in trip and may just need the run Closing novice second on the AW (9.5f) didn't amount to much; needs more on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 +29%)La Fleur Petrus |
10/1(+29%) | (5) La Fleur Petrus 10/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 7f at Kempton on reappearance; in good form prior at the end of 2024; tongue-tie first time; up in trip; bit to prove Needs to settle better, going without the hood this time and upped in trip; bit to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A slow start might have made the difference to GINCIDENT's finishing position because he was beaten just three-quarters of a length into third at Wolverhampton on Saturday. James Owen's charge tackles an extra furlong, which should suit, and provided he can break on terms, he ought to go very close. Zariela wasn't disgraced on her reappearance at Lingfield and could step forward with a visor applied for the first time. Corundum heads the remainder.

A slow start over an easier 7f did for GINCIDENT (nap) on the AW at the weekend and he's selected to bounce back.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance.
