MOON TARGET justified strong market support to make a striking debut at Newmarket last month and the daughter of Cracksman looks an exciting prospect. With any amount of improvement to come, she looks tough to oppose. Space Bear was a two-length victor on her introduction at Wolverhampton and provided she is as effective on turf, she could have a say. Any market confidence behind newcomer What A Racket would be interesting.

Winning newcomers from the Prescott yard usually turn out to be smart and MOON TARGET looked good at Newmarket.

1st (1) (3/1 -71%)B Associates |
3/1(-71%) | (1) B Associates 3/1, Well backed but poor again beaten 7l in a classified race over 6f at Leicester last time; effective 6/7f, acts on any; out of form Not firing of late and disappointed at Leicester last month; needs to turn things around. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (4/1 +0%)Rock Master |
4/1(+0%) | (9) Rock Master 4/1, Would probably have run to form with a clear passage 4 1/2l third in a classified race over 6f at Leicester most recent start; effective 6/7f on a sound surface; consistent 0-11; possibilities on form, though this trip seems to stretch him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (4/1 +60%)Saved Lizzie |
4/1(+60%) | (5) Saved Lizzie 4/1, Ran roughly to form beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Newmarket (July) last time; suited by 7/8f and a sound surface; running ok of late 0-17 but did show ability on the AW late last year; a player down at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (40/1 -21%)Fast Flo |
40/1(-21%) | (2) Fast Flo 40/1, Ran about to balance of current poor form beaten 7l in a handicap over 6f here last time; effective 6/7f, acts on any; very moderate 0-42 and looks up against it, even at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/4 +68%)The Cola Brasil |
9/4(+68%) | (6) The Cola Brasil 9/4, Yard won this last year; not the most willing under pressure and eased 2l late beaten 5l in a handicap at Salisbury last time; effective 6/7f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; somewhat irresolute Not the easiest but knows how to win; stable took this last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -20%)Willow's Kiss |
12/1(-20%) | (7) Willow's Kiss 12/1, Too free up in trip on soft and didn't see it out when comfortably held in a handicap over 8f at Chepstow last time; off a short-break; suited by 7f and a sound surface; should return to form Unplaced in six starts, but still being unexposed and the drop in grade are the positives. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (33/1 +0%)Magic Fluke |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Magic Fluke 33/1, Poor again tried in cheekpiece beaten 7 1/2l in a classified race over 6f at Leicester last time; effective 6/7f on a sound surface; out of form 1-22; has regressed since finishing third at Southwell in January; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (25/1 -25%)Primrose Maid |
25/1(-25%) | (4) Primrose Maid 25/1, Very poor again well beaten in a handicap over 8f here latest; blinkers first time; effective 7/8f, acts on any; in terrible form 1-33 and poor in last three starts; blinkers on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ROCK MASTER has been thereabouts in this grade the last twice, most recently finishing third at Leicester, and this may be a solid opportunity for him to strike. C&D winner Primrose Maid reaches for first-time blinkers in the hope of bringing out improvement, so she is one to keep an eye on. Desert Beauty is the pick of the remainder based on her victory at Leicester two starts ago.

Not many of these are solid, but DESERT BEAUTY makes plenty of appeal as the only one with recent winning form to her name.

1st (1) (11/10 +0%)Shabu Shabu |
11/10(+0%) | (1) Shabu Shabu 11/10, Suited by the step-up in trip and game effort beaten a neck off 52 over 12f at Salisbury last time; significant jockey booking; suited by 12f and fast ground; consistent Narrowly beaten by a last-time-out winner at Salisbury 22 days ago (1m4f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 -13%)Kilima |
9/4(-13%) | (4) Kilima 9/4, Looked game and improved in first-time cheekpieces when winning a classified race here by a neck last time; suited by 11/12f and a sound surface; should repeat form given head gear C&D classified winner only recently and this mark looks very manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 +39%)Argentum |
11/4(+39%) | (2) Argentum 11/4, Lacked a bit of pace again beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Windsor last time; in good form prior; form is at 11.5f on good ground; consistent, but ultimately may need further With Jack Callan booked and her penultimate run fresh in the memory, she's considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -25%)Filligris |
20/1(-25%) | (3) Filligris 20/1, Poor effort down the field in a maiden over 8f at Kempton most recent start; yet to show really measurable form Modest maiden runs but pedigree does at least bode well for this longer trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Kilima secured his first career victory in a classified stakes over track and trip on his latest outing and is an interesting contender back in a handicap. However, SHABU SHABU was just touched off into second in this class at Salisbury last month and goes off the same rating. James Ferguson's charge may only need to reproduce that level of form in order to go one better. Argentum is another to keep an eye on.

Kilima should be fine in a handicap off this low a mark but preference is for SHABU SHABU whose Salisbury form looks stronger.

1st (4) (14/1 -133%)Alive Again |
14/1(-133%) | (4) Alive Again 14/1, May have pulled chance away, but disappointing when well beaten in a maiden over 7f here latest; significant jockey booking; seems best in a hood Possible improver now handicapping over a longer trip that should suit given pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/8 +8%)Arundel |
11/8(+8%) | (3) Arundel 11/8, Ran to form after a short-break when second beaten 2l off 62 last time; cheekpieces first time; suited by 10f, may get 12f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; staying type Has improved for stepping up to 1m2f in handicaps, posting form figures of 212. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (13/2 +46%)Telecommunication |
13/2(+46%) | (2) Telecommunication 13/2, Not knocked about once held when fourth beaten 11l in a handicap at Doncaster latest; visor first time; 10f and fast ground suits; should recapture form C&D winner in May but has performed moderately since then; now visored. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +45%)Pay Attention |
11/2(+45%) | (5) Pay Attention 11/2, Made too much use of on unsuitably soft ground when well beaten latest; better judged on 3 3/4l win off 63 in June; wants 8-10f on a sound surface ideally; generally consistent Running well until reportedly unsuited by the good to soft ground at Newmarket. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (4/1 +20%)Glitter Code |
4/1(+20%) | (7) Glitter Code 4/1, Well backed, touch disappointing and may not have stayed beaten 7l in a handicap at Windsor over 1m2f last time; suited by 8/9f, acts on any; has stamina to prove Beaten favourite at Windsor but didn't get clearest of runs and he's usually consistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6/1 -80%)Silent Affair |
6/1(-80%) | (6) Silent Affair 6/1, Roughly to form made plenty of use of at a trip that stretches stamina when beaten 3l off 64 at Newmarket (July) last time; cheekpieces first time; stays 9.5f, acts on a sound surface; stamina to prove at 1m2f Does look on the right sort of mark but cheekpieces are now added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ARUNDEL continued his progression with a good second at Newmarket last month and this looks a suitable opportunity for him to regain the winning thread. A 3lb rise for Ed Dunlop's charge looks workable and he's preferred to Silent Affair. The daughter of Saxon Warrior has dropped to an attractive mark and shouldn't be underestimated in first-time cheekpieces. Pay Attention may fare best of the remainder.

Arundel is solid but a chance is taken on handicap newcomer ALIVE AGAIN who could be a different proposition over this longer trip.

1st (6) (10/1 -233%)Smooth Silesie |
10/1(-233%) | (6) Smooth Silesie 10/1, Probably ran to current level of form beaten 1 1/2l off 56 at Ffos Las last time; suited by 5f, acts on any; has regressed, but mark reflects that Looks ready to exploit her reduced mark after finishing well for second at Ffos Las. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +33%)Fletcher's Flight |
3/1(+33%) | (2) Fletcher's Flight 3/1, Well backed, good effort beaten a length off 66 at Doncaster last time; trainer in form; effective 5/6f, acts on any except soft; little bit erratic Well-handicapped dual course winner and rediscovered some form last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 -44%)Court Of Session |
13/2(-44%) | (4) Court Of Session 13/2, Every chance, ran to current level beaten 2 1/4l off 60 over 6f at Newmarket (July) last time; blinkers first time; effective 6-8f on a sound surface; mark a bit stiff based on recent efforts Ran okay at Newmarket on Friday but blinkers are tried here on his first attempt at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +60%)Last Outlaw |
2/1(+60%) | (1) Last Outlaw 2/1, Got no run and would have been closer and to form when beaten 3l off 68 at Musselburgh last time; effective 5/6f, acts on any; should return to form Dual winner who is well handicapped and latest effort was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -150%)Hint Of The Jungle |
25/1(-150%) | (5) Hint Of The Jungle 25/1, Below par after poor start off a break beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Chepstow last time; suited by 5f and a sound surface; not won since 2yo, but mark falling His one promising effort for this yard is flanked by two lesser ones; others safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 +0%)World Of Darcy |
12/1(+0%) | (3) World Of Darcy 12/1, Bit better given trip inadequate when fourth beaten 7l in a handicap at Lingfield latest; suited by 6f, all best efforts with cut; in relatively poor form Last year's wins were at 6f and he could do with any showers turning heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (7) (13/2 -8%)It's Showtime |
13/2(-8%) | (7) It's Showtime 13/2, Back to form beaten 1 1/2l off 54 here last time; suited by 5f, acts on good to soft and good to firm; mark seems fair Strike-rate of 1-25 but was only 1.5l away over C&D last time despite fluffing the start. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having returned to form with a solid second at Ffos Las recently, Smooth Silesie should give another bold account. However, this represents a rise in class for the four-year-old and preference is for LAST OUTLAW. Michael Keady's gelding didn't enjoy the best of passages when coming home in fifth at Musselburgh last month and, granted better luck, a third career victory may beckon. Fletcher's Flight is also of interest.

The 5yo FLETCHER'S FLIGHT (nap) runs this track well and his last run suggests he's ready to exploit a reduced mark.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7/2 +0%)Makes Me Wonder |
7/2(+0%) | (8) Makes Me Wonder 7/2, Would have won but for hanging beaten 3/4l off 57 over 10f at Chepstow last time; effective 1m, suited by 10f, may want a sound surface; can rate more highly Has mostly been running with credit since winning over C&D in April; a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/2 +0%)Blue Train |
9/2(+0%) | (6) Blue Train 9/2, Good trip on inner, but very game and ran to best scored by a neck off 60 over 9f at Wolverhampton penultimate start; didn't look all that willing last time though and visor on; 8/9f suits, probably wants a sound surface; attitude questionable Below form on Wednesday after his Wolverhampton win, but could bounce back; visor on. |

4th (4) (15/2 -7%)Ventura Dream |
15/2(-7%) | (4) Ventura Dream 15/2, Ran to form beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time; suited by 1m, acts on good (poor only start on good to firm); in fair form, mark stiff Just 1lb higher than when winning on the AW in February; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 -33%)Astral Sea |
12/1(-33%) | (9) Astral Sea 12/1, Seemed not to stay a mile when comfortably held in a novice at Southwell last time; trainer in form; probably flattered by debut and fairly poor on the whole Makes her turf/handicap debut after six months off; bred to be better than she has shown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (50/1 -100%)Kazakh |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Kazakh 50/1, Below par up in trip and first time on fast ground beaten 8l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; visor first time; effective 7f, acts on AW, unproven turf; has it to prove at a mile on grass Has beaten just one rival in his last two starts; visor on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (20/1 -67%)Callout |
20/1(-67%) | (3) Callout 20/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 60 over 7f at Brighton in May, but had another off day beaten 30l off 65 last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good to soft and good to firm, but not soft; erratic without being irresolute Has suffered heavy defeats in two of his three starts since winning at Brighton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/4 +59%)Warrnambool |
9/4(+59%) | (1) Warrnambool 9/4, Finished well after still green when ridden beaten 3l off 67 at Newbury last time; significant jockey booking; effective 7/8f, probably wants sound surface; nice type, on a good mark 0-7 but drops slightly in grade and not discounted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Although he finished fourth of five runners over 1m2f at Chepstow last month, MAKES ME WONDER was beaten just under a length. David Simcock's gelding wasn't seen to best effect held up in the rear off a sedate gallop and reverting to 1m may prove fruitful. Suzuka has failed to live up to expectations, but she is a potential improver stepping up in trip. The daughter of Bated Breath is feared most, ahead of the down-in-class Warrnambool.

The choice is SUZUKA who is bred to be much better than she has shown so far and should appreciate the step up in trip on breeding.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
