40/1(-43%) | (2) Awraad 40/1, Well placed when a head winner in a novice at Pontefract on debut; showed a good attitude to hold on; more needed Sole filly when winning at Pontefract; mixed messages from form; needs a big step forward. |

8th (1) (22/1 -100%)Alaskan Light |
22/1(-100%) | (1) Alaskan Light 22/1, Yard has won 2 of last 3 runnings of race; made a promising debut just last week when runner-up beaten 2l in a maiden at Ripon only start; could contend Runner-up at Ripon; Love Olivia looks the yard's chief hope, but not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (40/1 -100%)Guernsey Lady |
40/1(-100%) | (4) Guernsey Lady 40/1, Followed up solid debut with 3l third in a novice at Goodwood most recent run; should show further improvement but this a good bit tougher; hard to recommend Has made the frame on both runs; trainer won this in 2014 and 2019 but improvement needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A whole host of potential improvers with bright futures ahead of them, but the vote goes to LOVE OLIVIA. Karl Burke's filly made light work of her opposition on her introduction at Wolverhampton last month and she is clearly held in high regard at Spigot Lodge. The biggest threat may emerge from Harry's Girl, who displayed a willing attitude to score at Newmarket. Fellow debut winners Eternal Solace and Awraad add further spice to the mix.

Karl Burke won this in 2022 and 2023, and saddled last year's second, and LOVE OLIVIA earns the vote having bolted up at Wolverhampton.

1st (1) (5/1 +23%)Thunder Run |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Thunder Run 5/1, Probably needed race beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Doncaster last time; progressed well last term winning three times, including here; up in trip; threat Fair chance on pedigree to get new trip; hadn't made debut a year ago, so could improve. |

16/1(+0%) | (11) Zain Blue 16/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 8f at Newmarket most recent; up in trip for the first time; cheekpieces back on (winner here with them in September); more needed Won here sole go in cheekpieces; new trip now but there is some stamina on the dam's side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (25/1 +0%)Westerton |
25/1(+0%) | (6) Westerton 25/1, Probably needed race beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Goodwood last time; top course jockey; probably bit to come, but just the 1 win from 15 starts on flat Sole win (18 races) remains a maiden in 2023; reappearance suggests all hope is not lost. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (5/1 +50%)Austrian Theory |
5/1(+50%) | (10) Austrian Theory 5/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 1/2l off 85 at Chester last time, forced wide running on well; mark unchanged; chance on that form, but vulnerable to improvers Rallied strongly when second at Redcar (1m) and Chester (1m2f) in his two runs this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (10/1 -25%)Brioni |
10/1(-25%) | (5) Brioni 10/1, Probably needed race well beaten in a handicap over 8f at Newmarket latest; last two starts over 1m2f are first and second; back up in trip; could contend May have needed his reappearance outing (weak 11-1) and his stable is among the winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (8/1 +27%)Flying Frontier |
8/1(+27%) | (4) Flying Frontier 8/1, Game when landing a handicap by a neck off 93 over at Sandown last time; returning from long layoff; unproven on fast ground; in the mix Very solid on good/AW, below form on his only start on good to firm; won in August latest. |

10th (9) (20/1 +39%)Debora's Dream |
20/1(+39%) | (9) Debora's Dream 20/1, Ran to form beaten 3 1/4l off 86 at Chester last time; all wins have come over shorter; bit to find at this level Ran on nicely from a poor position when sixth of 14 at Chester (1m2f, good) eight days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (14/1 +13%)Bint Al Daar |
14/1(+13%) | (8) Bint Al Daar 14/1, Raced freely beaten 2l off 86 over 8f at Nottingham last time; trainer in form; up in trip; didn't run well here last term; outside chance Second of 15 over C&D (good to firm) last August off 3lb lower was one of her peak efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (25/1 +11%)Man Of Desert |
25/1(+11%) | (12) Man Of Desert 25/1, Suited by fast ground a length third in a maiden over 8f at Yarmouth most recent run; up in trip for the first time over 1m2f; bit to prove In warm race for handicap debut but he has potential, for sure, and 1m2f is likely to help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (18/1 -13%)Financer |
18/1(-13%) | (13) Financer 18/1, Ran to form second beaten 5l in a handicap at Ripon latest; all three wins at double figure odds last term; tough ask back up in grade and looks yards 2nd strong on jockey bookings Three 1m2f wins on good/good to firm last season and respectable second on reappearance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Having signed off his last campaign with a triumph at Sandown, Flying Frontier likely has more to offer this year. However, the lack of a recent run and 2lb nudge up the ratings does demand more from James Tate's charge and TONY MONTANA ticks more of the right boxes. The son of Kingman arrives on the back of a good second at Goodwood and a 2lb higher mark looks workable on this second outing of the season. Have Secret and Austrian Theory are others to consider.

Extremely competitive but BINT AL DAAR gets the vote ahead of Debora's Dream and Tony Montana. Man Of Desert is fascinating.

11/2(-57%) | (6) Kon Tiki 11/2, Unbeaten filly improved from debut when winning a competitive novice at Kempton by 1 1/4l last time; should show some improvement; in the mix 2-2; others have achieved more but this well-bred filly could have more left in the tank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (16/1 -60%)Bermuda Longtail |
16/1(-60%) | (1) Bermuda Longtail 16/1, Well backed second beaten a length by Glittering Surf in a Fillies & Mares race at Kempton latest; top course trainer; makes turf debut; interesting 1l 2nd to Glittering Surf at Kempton; in good hands to continue to progress; not ruled out. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/4 +68%)Consecrated |
7/4(+68%) | (2) Consecrated 7/4, Made a very promising debut when 3l winner in a maiden over 7f at Newbury; form franked from that race; top course jockey; up in trip; player Impressive on debut; this half-sister to connections' Sacred could have lots more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 -100%)Glittering Surf |
11/2(-100%) | (4) Glittering Surf 11/2, Unbeaten in opening two starts, including a Fillies & Mares race at Kempton by a length last time; with Bermuda Longtail in behind; leading claims Didn't look the finished article at Kempton when making it 2-2 and has star potential. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (3/1 +14%)Gulya |
3/1(+14%) | (5) Gulya 3/1, Well backed second beaten a short-head in a competitive novice at Ascot latest; would have won had gap come earlier; big chance Coronation Stakes entry who was unlucky at Ascot recently; no surprise if she makes amends. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Unbeaten duo Glittering Surf and Kon Tiki share similar profiles stepping up in class and neither can be dismissed in an open affair. However, there is a sneaking suspicion that we've yet to see GULYA fulfil her potential and she could be worth chancing. Roger Varian's filly endured a luckless passage when denied by a short head at Ascot last month and, granted better luck, compensation could be on the cards.

The unbeaten GLITTERING SURF looks a very smart prospect and she can take the rise in grade in her stride. Consecrated is feared.

1st (1) (5/4 +9%)Rebel's Romance |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (14/1 +30%)Alsakib |
14/1(+30%) | (3) Alsakib 14/1, Below par well beaten in British Champions Long Distance Cup (Group 2) over 2m at Ascot latest; John Smith's Silver Cup (Group 3) winner here last term; top course trainer; more needed Won C&D Group 3 last July; disappointed after and was gelded; probably needs a career best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 +25%)Continuous |
9/2(+25%) | (4) Continuous 9/2, St Leger winner; beaten 8 1/4l in Dubai Gold Cup (Group 2) over 2m at Meydan last time; blinkers first time; trainer in form; could contend 2023 was his heyday and he now sports first-time headgear; still smart though. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

The globetrotting Rebel's Romance has only tasted defeat once on these shores - in last year's King George - and he ought to go very close if seeing out the trip. With stamina proven, though, SWEET WILLIAM is taken to come out on top. Last seen chasing home outstanding stayer Kyprios in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot on Champions Day, the Gosdens' gelding can pick up where he left off to set up a tilt at the Gold Cup. Continuous is a class act on his day and first-time blinkers could give him an added boost.

There are major tactical imponderables but the back-to-form EPIC POET put up a bold show in a very tactical race for the Dubai Gold Cup.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This is fiercely competitive and only a tentative vote can go to AGAINST THE WIND. Fifth in a valuable sales race here as a juvenile, it didn't work out in the Harry Rosebery at Ayr next time, but he returned with a convincing handicap triumph at Thirsk last month. Now 6lb higher but well drawn, there is plenty in his favour and he can go close. Mearall appears to be on a competitive mark so must be of interest along with The Quiet Gent, who might appreciate dropping to the minimum trip. Loom is also noted.

Loom can go well back at 5f but AGAINST THE WIND (nap) looked one to keep on the right side of when winning at Thirsk last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

John and Thady Gosden can complete a hat-trick of wins in this race with BOWMARK. Impressive at Kempton on debut, the son of Kingman sets a good standard after a neck defeat to a progressive rival in a Listed race at Newcastle. He should be very hard to beat back in novice company. Point Of Contact, who had a luckless Crown Of Oaks back in third at Newbury, is feared most, although nicely-bred filly Sea The Wonder, is a must for a betting check.

Having gone close in a Listed race at Newcastle last month, BOWMARK is taken to go one better. Crown Of Oaks is a big danger.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Only one of the last 10 favourite has emerged successful in this race and, with a maximum field of 22 competing, this year's edition is naturally competitive. Feel The Need won this off 4lb lower in 2024 and is respected with his repeat bid, while cases can obviously be made for penalised runners Eldrickjones and Delicacy based on recent from. However, it could be worth taking a chance on AL MUQDAD, who is a specialist over this trip and has proven to be effective from his current mark. From opposite sides of the draw, Yaaser and Sword are just two others with solid credentials.

The step up in trip may well be a positive for the unexposed 4yo MUSICAL TOUCH, who has won 6f handicaps the last twice.
Ths is the racecard key.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance.
