LTO Selection:

13:20 Bellewstown Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FAST TARA beat Love Mocha last October and might confirm placings and win. Both the selection and barrier-trialled Love Mocha had previous experience going into Dundalk and while Love Mocha is 4lb better off, Fast Tara has a slight edge. Both are by soft ground-liking stallions. Gunsight ran well on soft at Killarney but disappointed on his latest run in October. Similarly 75-rated Hokusai was keen last year but also showed ability while Vikki Wall, which showed ability on debut, is best watched stepping up to a mile on testing ground. Newcomers are at a disadvantage here although Hotton Glen, already gelded, is out of an Ascot Stakes-winning mare and is by a sprinting stallion. Grey Leader is a half-brother to two capable winners.

This stiffer test of stamina will suit FAST TARA on her return and she showed enough in a brace of juvenile runs to think she can win a maiden. Love Mocha is feared, while some of the newcomers may come to the fore, with Grey Leader and Hutton Glen a couple of likely-looking sorts.

There wasn't much to separate Love Mocha and FAST TARA at Dundalk in the autumn. The latter may be able to confirm the form.

6th (3) Gold Clermont (3/1 -71%)
Gold Clermont

3/1(-71%)
(3) Gold Clermont 3/1, Well suited by the return to fences when scoring twice at Plumpton last month. Won easily on the second occasion and an 8 lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent her completing a hat-trick.
LTO Selection:

13:50 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOLD CLERMONT is in the form of her life at present and there is no reason to suggest why she can't complete the hat-trick off an 8lb higher mark than last time at Plumpton. Prince Des Fichaux has shown a decent level of form over hurdles and is interesting on his debut in this sphere, while Duc De Beauchene remains very well handicapped.

The thriving GOLD CLERMONT is taken to defy the handicapper and complete a quick chase hat-trick. Duc de Beauchene is down to a mark he can be very competitive from and is feared most ahead of Sam Thomas chase newcomer Prince des Fichaux.

It is hard to escape the claims of GOLD CLERMONT, now that she has found her form.

LTO Selection:

13:55 Bellewstown Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GIVEMEFIVE debuts in handicaps. A half-brother to Sandringham Stakes-winning stablemate Create Belief and smart Star Girls Aamaal, he contested hot maidens last year and while well held, nonetheless showed ability, has been gelded since, has a soft-ground pedigree and handicaps should see him in a better light. Rhythm King has useful soft-ground handicap form and ran well enough in the Birdcatcher in November but is vulnerable to an unexposed type. The Snapper defeated the selection in a maiden but was behind Rhythm King last October and reappears in a first-time tongue-tie. Master Garvey has testing-ground form and has place claims. Knockmore Prince has been running well on the all-weather (beating Indian Outlaw last month) but reverts to testing conditions and runs in first-time blinkers.

KNOCKMORE PRINCE has only just failed at Dundalk on his last 2 starts so is ready to strike in a change of headgear. Master Garvey made a positive start for this yard when third at Naas and will appreciate the return to further, so is next best ahead of The Snapper.

Knockmore Prince has been running well at Dundalk but preference is for MASTER GARVEY who is proven in these conditions.

Batman For Ever

80/1(-100%)
(8) Batman For Ever 80/1, Fairly useful winning hurdler/chaser at up to 2½m in France in 2021 but has offered little in 4 starts for current yard. Best avoided unless market speaks favourably.
LTO Selection:

14:00 Wetherby Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BUTCH shed the maiden tag at the fourth time of asking last month and it would be no surprise were the son of Kayf Tara to kick on now. Hurlerontheditch finished a creditable third at Haydock 15 days ago and he remains capable of better eased 1lb in the handicap, while market support must be noted for Finnthemagician, who makes his stable debut for the Nicky Richards team.

BUTCH looks to have been let in fairly leniently on his handicap debut and he's taken to follow up from his likeable Uttoxeter success. Hasty Brook sprang back to form at Haydock last time and heads the list of dangers, with the lightly-raced Hurlerontheditch another player.

Harry Derham is very much among the winners and MONTYS MEDOC is taken to defy a long absence on his stable debut.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SIMPLY GORGEOUS was beaten by a pair of subsequent winners when finishing third of four in a 0-70 handicap at Lingfield last month. Eased 1lb in the ratings and down in class, it might be worth taking a chance on Phil McEntee's charge, whose sole success to date came over C&D. Recent Wolverhampton scorer Eagle Eyed Freddie must feature prominently in calculations, along with Calin's Lad, who has to carry a 4lb penalty for his win in selling company one week ago.

CALIN'S LAD might be good to land a second win in quick succession. Galileo Glass has been knocking at the door lately and is feared most ahead of Mick Appleby's Eagle Eyed Freddie.

The recent winners Calin's Lad and Eagle Eyed Freddie are respected but this could be the day for GALILEO GLASS to shine.

This can go the way of EVERYONESGAME, who may have been beaten a long way at Newbury when last seen but the form of that race has worked out a treat. Wind surgery in the interim may also aid his cause and the six-year-old gets the vote ahead of the capable Max's Champ and Another Day Out, who ran a promising race on her Rules debut at Southwell last month.

ANOTHER DAY OUT shaped well with a view to stepping up in trip when runner-up on her Southwell debut 17 days ago, so she gets the nod to go one better. Everyonesgame wasn't disgraced in a warm race at Newbury on his most recent outing in November and is an obvious threat returning from a break having also had a breathing operation since last seen. Max's Champ isn't without hope if responding well to headgear.

Although soft ground may be an issue, EVERYONESGAME has the form to win.

LTO Selection:

14:30 Bellewstown Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ELMOS FIRE was well held on his last runs of 2022 but won in June and likes testing ground. He won his maiden over this distance in June and while he failed to build on that, has slipped down the ratings and contests a winnable handicap. Skontonovski's form figures are also uninspiring but has all-weather form this winter and notably won a soft-ground handicap last October, so should get involved. Both Above It All and My Little Tip's form is over seven furlongs on faster surfaces, while Ten To Ten debuts in handicaps from a poor draw. Scarlet Dancer has won just once and would prefer better ground but has slipped to a career low mark.

SCARLET DANCER has won just one of his 25 starts but he's pretty consistent on the whole and should be in the mix if at least matching the level of form he's shown on the AW in recent months now back on turf. James Henry will be a threat if ready to roll on debut for new yard, while Secret Road and Skontonovski are both capable of going well if on-song.

It might be worth taking a chance on TEN TO TEN who showed more on the AW last time. He may come on for that first run in 10 months.

LTO Selection:

14:35 Wetherby Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Resplendent Grey wasn't disgraced at Huntingdon last month, having won on his debut at Market Rasen in December, and Olly Murphy's gelding appeals as the type to progress now switched from bumpers to hurdles. However, preference is for the Stuart Crawford-trained debutant JOKER DU CHENET. The son of Doctor Dino is related to some smart types and he ought to posses the ability to land a race of this nature. Stablemate Sunshine Girl heads the remainder.

RESPLENDENT GREY created a good impression when landing a Market Rasen bumper on his debut before not being seen to best effect under a penalty at Huntingdon, so he's very much of interest now switching to hurdles in what looks a winnable contest. Newcomer Joker du Chenet makes plenty of appeal on paper and strong market support for him would put a slightly different slant on matters. Super Stars may prove best of the rest.

Those with hurdles experience set a modest standard and this could go to the newcomer JOKER DU CHENET, who has a useful French pedigree

14:45 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

AMERICAN BELLE was no match for a progressive rival (now rated 101) when filling the runner-up spot over C&D in November but a similar performance could see her shed the maiden tag at the sixth time of asking. Archie Watson often excels in these types of contests and he boasts a strong hand with Concon Candy, who looks likely to improve on her debut third, and newcomer Hildegard. Any market support for her would be interesting.

CONCON CANDY showed some ability when third at Wolverhampton on debut and she's preferred by Hollie Doyle (stable also has an interesting newcomer), so she's worth chancing despite the fact that she has something to find with the more experienced Puntarelle and American Belle.

Concon Candy and Puntarelle both have chances but preference is for AMERICAN BELLE.

LTO Selection:

15:00 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A fairly weak contest, in which preference is for YELLOW JACKET, who arrives following a fair second on his chase debut at Ffos Las last month. He loses Peter Kavanagh's 5lb claim here but should not be taken lightly in the hands of Theo Gillard. Lonimoss Bareliere has proven to be capable of better than his latest showing and can bounce back, while Ardmayle is another to note.

YELLOW JACKET made a promising start in this sphere when runner-up at Ffos Las and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to go one better here off just a 1 lb higher mark. Both Ardmayle (second choice) and Lonimoss Bareliere were not at their best last time out but are weighted to have a say if back on their A-games in a handicap where lots have a question mark against them.

After his encouraging chase debut at Ffos Las there should be a big run in YELLOW JACKET, who has the lowest mileage of these.

15:05 Bellewstown Stakes 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LOVEJOY won a big-field maiden on debut and returns to a suitable surface. The form of her maiden win has worked out nicely (fourth was runner-up recently, fifth-placed won twice subsequently) and while probably unsuited by the all-weather subsequently, has has a break and remains unexposed. Course and distance winner Escaping Thejungle finished second in that Dundalk race and has strong claims but her best form is on a sounder surface. She defeated Polar Bear to win here in September although is now 9lb worse off and Polar Bear has winning soft-ground form, albeit over six-furlongs. Sam's Xpress won two recent all-weather handicaps but reverts to contrasting ground conditions, which is a concern. CD maiden winner Charming Lady was well held on her last handicap run although has form on testing ground. Thunderbear's form is on good ground and runs in first-time blinkers.

SAM'S XPRESS arrives firmly on the up so is strongly fancied to complete a quick hat-trick at the chief expense of C&D winner Escaping Thejungle. Charming Lady didn't enjoy the rub of the green at Dundalk when last seen and appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

ESCAPING THEJUNGLE was last seen finishing runner-up in a Dundalk handicap that's worked out well and her course form is appealing.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

NO REMATCH has been disappointing since landing a claimer at Leicester in February, but he's favoured at the weights this time around and could get back to winning ways down in grade. First-time cheekpieces could see On The Wild Side improve on recent efforts, while Captain Jack, who hit the crossbar in a similar event five days ago, is another to be interested in.

MARAJMAN has been better than the result on his last two outings and, returned to hurdling with Brian Hughes booked, he could be the answer to a tricky race. Captain Jack looks a solid alternative and On The Wild Side would be a major player if back in form.

It's hard to trust any of these and preference is for the 10yo maiden CAPTAIN JACK who is at least in some sort of form.

Things appear to have clicked into place for LETMELIVEMYLIFE, who is 2-3 since joining the Sean Curran yard. He must saddle a 5lb penalty in a deeper race than those successes, but he's less exposed than most and could yet have more to offer. Barging Thru left it late to land a similar C&D event 26 days ago and a first-time visor could unlock further improvement. Revolutionise is fancied to chase them home.

Sean Curran has very quickly found the key to LETMELIVEMYLIFE who is taken to make light of a 5 lb penalty and complete a hat-trick. Secret Strength is more than capable off his current mark and is second choice ahead of Revolutionise.

The in-form LETMELIVEMYLIFE (nap) is beginning to deliver on his 3yo promise and is taken to complete a hat-trick.

15:35 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A 5lb raised mark following a game success over 2m at this track last month looks unlikely to stop I Giorni having a say in proceedings, but it could be worth siding with the reopposing CHANTILLY HAZE. She was only denied by half a length in the aforementioned contest and can reverse that form now 2lb better off with Anthony Honeyball's charge. Treyarnon Bay is another to bear in mind.

I GIORNI impressed with the way she travelled when making a successful handicap debut here and, with the scope for better still, she's fancied to go in again. Treyarnon Bay looks an interesting handicap debutante for a top yard and Mrs Kinsella is interesting starting out for a new yard.

The unexposed I GIORNI (nap) won here recently and can defy top weight over this longer trip.

LTO Selection:

15:40 Bellewstown Handicap 5f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TAWAAZON has yet to win on turf but has recent heavy-ground form and is suited by five furlongs. He has been in fine form this winter and was beaten by a 4lb-well-in rival at Navan eight days ago (Ecclesiastical finished sixth, It'll Do My Day seventh) so should comfortably cope with a 3lb hike. Iva Batt is suited by testing conditions and while well held on recent runs, has had a winter's break and drops to a career low rating. Tai Sing Yeh is better over six furlongs and would prefer better ground while Distillate should find the distance too sharp. That's Mad returns from a long layoff.

TAWAAZON travelled fluently for a long way when runner-up at Navan and is weighted to resume winning ways here. Iva Batt is feared most now starting out with Adrian McGuinness, with It'll Do My Day another to consider.

TAWAAZON (nap) is in the form of his life of late and was only narrowly denied at Navan on Wednesday. He gets similar conditions here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GREENROCK ABBEY may have disappointed at Stratford last time but he had been in excellent form before that and his record since beginning over fences speaks for itself. The seven-year-old can bounce back to winning ways, with the capable Oscars Leader and last month's Southwell winner Onesoc looking best placed to chase him home. First Revolution and Sao are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

OSCARS LEADER is 9 lb below his last winning mark and turned in his best effort of the season at Bangor last month. He can land the spoils. Sao and Greenrock Abbey head the list of dangers.

This may go to GREENROCK ABBEY who has made a solid start to his chasing career and he made a mistake at the wrong time at Stratford.

LTO Selection:

15:55 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Several hold chances including Winklevi, who is 1lb well-in and appeals on these terms, whereas Later Darling is respected under top-weight but has to prove his stamina over this new trip. Crescent Lake could also be a factor now he has had a couple of spins for his new yard. However, preference is for dual C&D winner MURHIB, who is still well handicapped despite a 3lb rise after a 2m success last time .

WINKLEVI was back on song when second at Wolverhampton last week and might be able to land a second course win of the year. Veteran Murhib got his head back in front at Lingfield last month and is feared most ahead of Amanda Perrett's Later Darling.

It could be worth chancing CRESCENT LAKE, who has his third start for Gary Moore, is on a handy mark again and this trip could suit.

LTO Selection:

16:00 Clonmel Maiden Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BUTTERFLYVESPIERE is joint-top-rated hurdler at 116 and receives 7lb. She returned from 529 days off when jumping well on chase debut and while she tired, that was a better race and looks sure to improve, albeit she might prefer slightly better ground. Old Soul failed to concede 7lb to a now-128 rated mare over course and distance in February and had previously run well at Punchestown (the runner-up won subsequently). He has strong claims but might prefer further. Rolly Bowley Boy held every chance when exiting on chase debut here last month. He should be more suited by today's distance so can get involved. Gali Flight showed improvement on recent chase debut but is a 21-race maiden. Teescomponentsyess notably ran out over today's same course and distance in February 2022 while Takarengo, third in the 2020 English Cesarewitch, isn't a natural jumper and debuts over fences. Reappearing Magheralin Mick debuts over fences and might prefer summer ground.

Cases can be made for several, but ROLLY BOWLEY BOY was still in front before departing late at this track last month on chasing bow so, provided he's none the worse from that spill, Ciaran Murphy's charge can make amends. Gali Flight went as close to winning as he ever has when finishing runner-up on chase debut last month, so he heads up the dangers, ahead of Teescomponentsyess and Old Soul.

ROLLY BOWLEY BOY was running a big race on chasing debut here last time before falling and is preferred.

LTO Selection:

16:10 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Only narrowly denied over 2m7f at Taunton in December, LAYERTHORPE could benefit from a shorter stamina test having been headed up the run-in that day and should not be taken lightly off a short break. Just Go For It reverts back to fences following a comfortable success over timber last month and is feared most, ahead of the Sheila Lewis-trained Family Pot.

A few in with chances but LESKINFERE seemed to excel himself from well out of the weights at Market Rasen last week and, back racing from his proper mark in this, he has much more realistic claims of notching a third career success. He gets the nod over Just Go For It, who is expected to leave both previous efforts in this sphere behind after a pair of Wincanton victories over timber last month. Family Pot and Layerthorpe can fight out third spot.

A few of these are of some interest but the consistent HIGGS ought to give supporters a good run for their money.

16:15 Bellewstown Handicap 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STELLIFY is an absolute mud-lover and might return to her best. All her form is on testing ground and while well held on recent runs, contested a stronger race at Navan, has dropped 2lb and is race-fit. Bolero is an eight-year-old 16-race maiden mare but has her chance, despite a poor draw in 17. She too is suited by testing conditions and while she has thrice been beaten by the selection, her most recent runs were consistent, today's rider claims 5lb and has returned following a break. Theonewedreamof has form both on the flat and over hurdles and is race-fit while Carslake improved on heavy ground over hurdles recently and has place claims under a feather weight. Quirky but capable Dollar Value will be unsuited by testing ground while Too Bright has winning form on easy ground but mightn't want heavy.

THEONEWEDREAMOF caught the eye with a strong finish over hurdles at Thurles last time and, with cheekpieces back on, he makes most appeal. Dollar Value's mark looks potentially favourable as he returns to the Flat and Bolero should play a part if she's tuned up for her return.

A good fourth over this trip on testing ground at the Curragh last autumn, THEONEWEDREAMOF has been in fine form over hurdles of late.

16:20 Wetherby Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A taking winner at Ayr last time, JOANNA I'M FINE must hold every chance of following up off a 5lb higher mark with conditions in her favour. Similar comments apply to recent C&D winner Fiadh, who should be able to uphold form with Rumble B (second) despite being 5lb worse off at the weights. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Baby Jane, Braganza Bay and Storm Force One.

Plenty with chances but FIADH proved revitalised by the fitting of cheekpieces when going in over C&D and still looks handily weighted despite taking a 5 lb rise with the headgear crucially on again here. Joanna I'm Fine is feared most on the back of her recent breakthrough Ayr success, with in-form pair Rumble B and Dillarchie completing the shortlist.

In an open handicap it might pay to take a chance on VOYBURG rediscovering his touch with the stable back in better form.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

THE BAY WARRIOR is holding his form well and having been nudged up just 2lb for winning over course and distance in a higher grade last time, he has a solid chance of following up. It's notable that Rhys Clutterbuck was in the saddle for each of the gelding's three previous career successes, all over C&D, and it would come as no surprise to see the statics enhanced. Boasty is an obvious threat, while Mc'ted and Angels Roc are others to note.

BOASTY has been in excellent form lately and he's fancied to defy a penalty for his tough victory over C&D 5 days ago. They Don't Know looks a danger back down in trip and The Bay Warrior can't be ruled out.

The manner of BOASTY's C&D victory last time suggests he is capable of successfully defying a penalty in this slightly better contest.

LTO Selection:

16:35 Clonmel Handicap Chase 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

EMANCIPATOR won last year's renewal on chase debut by 20 lengths and returns to fences. Ideally suited by conditions, he won a hurdle last November and while pulled up, when reported to be coughing, in January, has had a break and will have had today's race as a target. Joy Of Life was hampered when pulling up at Limerick but is better judged by previous chase runs and should compete. Eddies Pride won from 5lb lower when last seen in November while Pana To Milan is interesting on chase debut, as she also steps up to this distance for the first time. Three-time winner Earths Furies is able at this level but hasn't won since February 2022. Four-time winner Sean Says has been running reasonably well.

C&D winner EMANCIPATOR looked on the up until pulled up at Gowran and is taken to return in style after a break. Sean Says is next on the list on the back of his solid Thurles fourth ahead of the handily-weighted Joy of Life.

EMANCIPATOR won over C&D on chasing debut last year and can repeat the feat.

LTO Selection:

16:45 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PLAY BY THE RULES bolted up at Taunton on his handicap debut last month and a subsequent 8lb rise in the handicap might not be enough to halt further progress. Good ground might have been the undoing of Accidental Legend when he was tailed off at Ffos Las last time and the return to an easier surface could see the son of Shirocco bounce straight back to form. Others to note include Hi Riko and Executive Pool.

PLAY BY THE RULES won in emphatic fashion at Taunton last month and a 8 lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent a follow-up success. Accidental Legend and Tokyo Live may provide the chief threat.

Despite giving the impression he wasn't fully concentrating, PLAY BY THE RULES won in style at Taunton and can follow up.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Bellewstown Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Lightly-raced STAR KISSED ran well in two maidens last year and is suited by soft ground. A half-sister to Group 3-winning stablemate Thunder Kiss, she was beaten by an 86-rated stakes-placed winner at Killarney and a reproduction, albeit on her reappearance, might suffice. The Gossiper is quite capable on his day and beat subsequently smart hurdler Ashroe Diamond to win a 2021 Galway festival bumper. However he has clearly had setbacks and might struggle to beat an on-song selection on his first run for 282 days. Douglas DC is useful but needs to improve to win, although has place claims on seasonal return. Bumper winner Art Of Silence's form is on good ground.

STAR KISSED sets the standard on her second at Killarney six months ago and there's more to come, so she's worth siding with. Douglas Dc is feared, with useful bumper winner The Gossiper potentially interesting on his return.

This looks a golden opportunity for STAR KISSED, a half-sister to the yard's smart Thunder Kiss, to get a winning bracket.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of GENTLEMAN DE MAI, who ran a cracker on his chase debut at Ayr in February, a race which has produced no fewer than four winners since. Rose Dobbin's charge is taken to go one place better on this occasion and can strike at the main expense of the in-form C&D winner Tango Boy, and Hotel Du Nord, who did it well at Wincanton last time out.

The form of GENTLEMAN DE MAI's Ayr chase debut second has been boosted a few times since so he's taken to go one better with improvement on cards. Last-time-out scorers Not Sure, Hotel du Nord and Tango Boy head the many dangers. It would also be no surprise to see Rowdy Rustler bounce back to form with the Lucinda Russell stable going so well.

With the form of his chase debut second at Ayr in February having worked out extremely well, GENTLEMAN DE MAI (nap) earns the vote.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Charlie Johnston is enjoying a good spell and the Middleham based trainer can strike again if SMOOTH RYDER enjoys a smoother passage than the one he endured during a near miss at Lingfield last month. He was a bit short of room at a crucial stage near the finish that day and from just a 1lb higher mark, he could make amends. Corporate Raider is tried in cheekpieces and could find improvement, while Chester Tonik remains unexposed over the trip.

DABBOUS has been gelded since last seen and promises to be well suited by the longer trip, so he's preferred to the in-form Smooth Ryder, with Corporate Raider also worthy of consideration.

The improving SMOOTH RYDER was a shade unlucky last time and may be capable of further progress, so he gets the vote.

LTO Selection:

17:10 Clonmel Handicap Chase 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BAY AMBITION has been running well and is suited by testing ground and this distance. She has yet to win in 10 chases but ran quite well when third over an inadequate distance here last month, with the winner franking the form by finishing second in last weekend's Ulster National. Rebel Early was 33 lengths behind the selection in that recent race and while the pair re-oppose on similar terms, Rebel Early should at least get closer on handicap chase debut, as her own hurdle rating is 7lb higher than her chase mark. Good As Hell won on good ground last October but is possibly best watched reappearing on testing ground. Sweet Street's best form is also on good but makes her handicap chase debut from a 5lb lower mark to hurdles.

BAY AMBITION has a much more solid profile than the rest of these and can gain an overdue first chase success. Lizrona will be a danger if bouncing back to the form she showed when successful over fences at Thurles just before Christmas, while Seangoell should find this a good bit easier than the Limerick Grade 3 she contested last time.

Third in a novice over 2m4f here last time, BAY AMBITION(nap) will relish the extra distance and can get off the mark chasing.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lump Sum and Largy Valley must shoulder penalties having struck on their respective Rules debuts, so it might pay to side with the Jonjo O'Neill-trained SOLDIEROFTHESTORM. He finished a good third at Ascot in October and, with bumper winners in his pedigree, the five-year-old is fancied to take a step forward. The Doyen Chief is another to consider representing powerful connections.

LUMP SUM justified strong support and looked a good prospect to boot when making a winning bumper debut at Bangor back in the autumn and with progress highly likely, he gets the nod to make it 2-2. Largy Valley overcame obvious signs of inexperience when landing a bumper himself at Ayr in November and can also figure, with Chevington and The Doyen Chief others worth a look.

Despite a penalty for his win last October, LUMP SUM makes most appeal.

IL VA DE SOI made both a pleasing stable/Rules debut for Harry Derham when only beaten a head at Kempton in February, and there is likely more to come from the gelded son of Gris De Gris. Booster Bob must hold every chance of securing a double, despite having to shoulder a 7lb penalty for his success over this trip at Ayr on debut, and he is feared most ahead of Support Act.

An interesting bumper with the narrow vote in favour of SUPPORT ACT. He shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up on Rules debut at Kempton 6 weeks ago, and with progress anticipated, he can go one place better. Booster Bob, who opened his account at the first attempt at Ayr, is feared along with Il Va de Soi, whilst Dan Skelton's newcomer Molly's Third Man demands a market check for clues.

It looked to be a warm bumper in which SUPPORT ACT was second at Kempton in February and he's the selection ahead of Il Va De Soi.

There can be little doubt that Hit Mac has the ability to win another race of this nature and his quick reappearance after a respectable fourth at Lingfield on Monday is taken as a hint that he can be expected to go well again. However, NELLIE FRENCH edges preference on these terms and, with regular partner Phil Dennis live to her quirks, the six-year-old is fancied to gain an overdue success. The Tron and Toptime are others to consider.

A few with chances so it could be worth siding with course-winner TOPTIME who has gone well fresh and returns from a lay-off on a handy-looking mark. In-form Hit Mac and C&D winner The Tron appeal as the duo to give Roy Bowring's 5-y-o most to do and can chase him home in that order.

Birkenhead is better than he showed on his return but so is SAAHEQ and he can win on his second run for his new stable.

The step up in trip could be just what the doctor ordered for STORMINGIN having shown plenty of stamina at the end of each of his last two races. A mark of 54 still looks within his grasp and he can see off the likes of Liva, who is now 4lb below his last winning mark, and Reset Button. He was a fine second last time and has since undergone wind surgery.

RESET BUTTON travelled smoothly when runner-up at this course last time and has since had a breathing operation, so he should take the beating in a weak race. Liva is a danger if tuned up and Pledge of Peace can't be ruled out.

If wind surgery can unlock a fraction extra from RESET BUTTON, the consistent 5yo might well be able to edge out a returning Liva.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Clonmel Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TOP SPEED returns following a break and receives weight from previous winners. A debut point-to-point winner, his form has been unexciting but ran well in a smart contest during Christmas, with the second, fourth and fifth all winning subsequently. Point-to-point and bumper winner Fameaftertheglory has failed in nine hurdles and four chases but has often run well in defeat, is sure to run well but carries a penalty. Feu De Bresil returned from a 1,530 days absence last Christmas and while he travels well in his races, finds little. Ex-Ballydoyle trained San Martino has been well held over hurdles but has beaten plenty rivals and has place claims under his penalty. Conyers Hill showed improvement in an ordinary race here last month while newcomer Champagne Mahler is a brother to a capable winning stayer. Marciano is a sibling to three winners and is out of a half-sister to Colonel Braxton.

FAMEAFTERTHEGLORY has been knocking at the door in similar company this year and is taken to finally get his head in front. Feu du Bresil ran his best race coming over from France when second at Thurles last time and will be a threat if building on that. Conyers Hill and Top Speed look capable of better than they've shown and also make the shortlist.

One of these should fall the way of FAMEAFTERTHEGLORY who has been running well in defeat in tougher races than this

LTO Selection:

17:55 Wetherby NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A fairly open second division of the bumper in which marginal preference is for the Dan Skelton-trained COCO MADEMOISELLE. She bolted up in a point-to-point in Ireland earlier this year, when trained by Denis Paul Murphy, and is fancied to follow up on her Rules debut for a yard which has enjoyed plenty of success at this track over the years. Light Sentence and Got Your Back add further spice to the race.

COCO MADEMOISELLE got off the mark on her second outing in Irish points earlier in the year so, representing a yard that boast a fine record at this track, she's fancied to make a winning start under Rules in a contest that may not take much winning. Light Sentence was placed on both outings at Taunton last month, so he's put forward as the main threat, ahead of Irish-raider Boldog.

The 4yo LIGHT SENTENCE will need to settle better than he did when second at Taunton but he clearly has plenty of ability.

18:00 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

As a half-brother to Irish Derby and St Leger winner Hurricane Lane, it's likely that higher expectations are held of SWEET WILLIAM at some stage. He showed ability in both starts as a three-year-old and he looks to have been found an ideal starting point for his return. Al Asmakh has a fitness edge and is dangerous to underestimate, while Banderas and Saint George also appeal and are recommended as shortlist material.

BANDERAS shaped with abundant promise without being seen to anything like best effect when fifth in a Newcastle maiden late last year and with progress anticipated, he earns the vote to build on that and come out on top. Sweet William, twice a runner-up in novice events last year, can do better again this term and is feared along with Al Asmakh. Newcomer Allo Al Khawaneej demands a market check.

Sweet William ran well in both his runs last season but BANDERAS was a major eyecatcher on debut and may progress past him.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Clonmel Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Three-time point winner DESERT HEATHER is consistent. Her Punchestown run was boosted by the runner-up winning subsequently, suffered minor interference when beaten at Limerick and has form at this distance. It is puzzling to see Kilbarry Saint (out of a Listed flat winner and by a leading French stallion) contest a late-season maiden hurdle having shown real promise, when green, on point-to-point debut, with the runner-up subsequently selling for 150,000 pounds. She receives plenty weight and is a fascinating runner. Champagnesocialist won an ordinary bumper by 19 lengths last September, has recent form and her rider's 7lb claim mostly offsets her 8lb penalty. Bint Freya and Will You Win have minor place claims while Walk Out faces a tougher task than when exiting late-on at Thurles.

This can go to DESERT HEATHER, who is still low mileage and caught the eye when runner-up at Limerick last month. Champagnesocialist and Bint Freya rate the principal dangers.

DESERT HEATHER was 2nd at Limerick last month and a shorter trip shouldn't be an issue with testing ground in her favour

18:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dubai Jeanius quietly racked up a five-timer over various trips here over the last few months and is respected back at his favourite course. However, he's also gone up 24lb in the handicap since January and arguably faces his stiffest test to date. With that in mind, it might be worth chancing that KAARANAH can find more now he's tried in a hood and dropped back to what might prove to be his optimum distance. Vaccine and Athmad are noted too.

Plenty arrive holding claims and it could just be worth siding with the returning KINGMANIA. She proved more miss than hit last term but ended the campaign with an eye-catching effort in a big-field Newmarket handicap and, starting out for her new yard (has gone well fresh), she could just be the answer from an appealing mark. Francesi, Dubai Jeanius and Athmad are others fancied to figure.

Athmad is at the top of his game but KINGMANIA could benefit from the hood and she can make a winning stable debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MILLSTREAM LADY's recent course form is working out and she could be ahead of the handicapper. She showed improvement when chasing home a subsequent winner (now rated 112) last month, with the third being an unlucky loser last weekend and the fourth now being rated 102. She steps up in distance and her rider claims 7lb. Keen-going Mighty Jeremy has been running well, following a layoff, and has claims from just 2lb higher. Shean Glory disappointed on her latest run but is generally consistent and beat a subsequent winner here in February. Tingarran Express has some decent form but is a 12-raced maiden, while recent point-to-point winner Lilian Bland ran well over hurdles last month.

MILLSTREAM LADY looks to have got in lightly for her handicap bow so gets the vote at the chief expense of recent course second Tingarran Express. Mighty Jeremy is another who can have a say on the back of his good Cork second.

MIGHTY JEREMY has run with credit since returning from a lengthy absence and he's only been nudged up 2lb for a narrow defeat latest

19:00 Southwell Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Placed on three of her four outings last year, MUBHIJAH looks just the type to improve at three and the step up to a mile is another plus. The daughter of Shamardal is narrowly preferred to Urban Decay, who showed plenty when runner-up on her debut at Kempton in November. Sea Me Dance is another to consider having placed on both starts last season.

URBAN DECAY produced a promising first effort when runner-up over this trip at Kempton in November, and with improvement likely, she can be expected to build on that now with her yard amongst the winners. Mubhijah promises to be suited by this step up to 1m on return and is feared, along with Sea Me Dance.

Mubhijah sets the standard but the once-raced URBAN DECAY may progress past her.

19:15 Clonmel NH Flat Race 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A chance is taken that well-bred SHANNON ROYALE wasn't himself when disappointing on bumper debut. He chased home smart dual bumper winner Willmount in a February 2022 point-to-point before selling for 300,000 pounds, and hung when disappointing at Fairyhouse. He was a reserve non-runner in February and it is encouraging connections have opted for another bumper. Willie Mullins' Toad Hall is a half-brother to three winners, including Eye Van, and while he could be smart, nonetheless makes a belated debut aged six. Points winner Extrapolation ran well on bumper debut for a new yard and looks sure to run well while seven year old Pray Tell was an unlucky loser of a winners' point at Nenagh but faces a tougher task. Walk Away Harry is a sibling to four winners and could make things interesting while Read The Room hails from the War Of Attrition academy and is a distant relative of Denman.

TOAD HALL represents top connections and may well be capable of making a successful start. Extrapolation has the best form to date and looks a danger, while Shannon Royale can't be dismissed with improvement on the cards.

EXTRAPOLATION sets a reasonable standard. The point winner ran a big race on Rules debut and he may progress from that

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for CREME DE CACAO after a convincing win at Chelmsford last month, Roger Varian's filly can follow up from feasible opening handicap mark of 71. An eye-catcher on her first run for new connections at Kempton, In The Giving should have plenty more improvement forthcoming, while Nuthatch and Tondeuse can also have a say in proceedings.

CREME DE CACAO looks to have got in lightly for her handicap bow so is fancied to follow up her cosy Chelmsford City success at the chief expense of In The Giving, who shaped well when runner-up at Kempton on her yard debut and is a major threat. Course-scorer Evolicatt is another who can have a say in a competitive handicap.

In The Giving is open to improvement over 7f but WINNARETTA looks the type to do well in handicaps this season.

20:00 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Giselles Izzy was only narrowly denied over C&D on her most recent outing in February and must enter calculations off 1lb higher. However, AUTUMN FLIGHT was a game winner over this trip at Lingfield last month and narrowly shades the vote, despite having to shoulder a 4lb penalty. Shining Crystal reverts to handicapping and adds further spice to the race.

JENEVER backed up his C&D win with a good placed effort at Kempton last time and looks to have plenty going for him again here. Giselles Izzy has been in great form this winter and looks by far the most pertinent danger, with Autumn Flight perhaps the best of the rest.

Ustath and Gunnerside are high on the list but the progressive JENEVER may be able to record his second C&D success.

A facile winner over C&D last month, it is hard to look past KISS MY FACE, especially given Harry Russell negates most of the gelding's 5lb penalty for that victory courtesy of his 3lb claim. He's taken to continue in a rich vein of form, but Huscari was a game winner over 2m at Lingfield on her latest outing and should not be taken lightly. Wannabe Brave completes the shortlist in first-time cheekpieces.

KISS MY FACE arrives on a roll and can make light of a 5 lb penalty for his emphatic C&D success to complete a four-timer. Low-mileage Huscari is feared most on the back of her Lingfield win, with Wannabe Brave weighted to have a say too if the fitting of cheekpieces have the desired effect.

It makes sense to stick with KISS MY FACE (nap) who comes here on a roll and faces plenty of rivals with questions to answer.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing.
