||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/4 +50%)Valentino Eclipse |
9/4(+50%) | (5) Valentino Eclipse 9/4, Gleneagles colt; half-brother to Eclipse Emerald, smart at 6f; another half brother a multiple winner in HK; hood first time; wide draw; yard can get them ready; watch betting. Half-brother to three winners, this looks like a weak maiden for this venue, could feature. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/8(+13%) | (9) Goomah 13/8, Needs a step up in trip to be competitive beaten 4 1/2l in a maiden at Dundalk last time; effective 7f; debut form boosted at Listed level, should progress. Two fair runs at two, could feature in what looks like an ordinary maiden for this venue. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (17/2 +47%)Caislean Ni Cuan |
17/2(+47%) | (6) Caislean Ni Cuan 17/2, 16,000 euros Mehmas filly; dam useful at 10f; yard quiet just now; looks an unlikely winner on debut. First foal; dam once-raced half-sister to two winners, out of a winning sister to Teofilo. |

22/1(+56%) | (1) Connecteo 22/1, Given too much to do throughout beaten 9l in a maiden at Dundalk last time; bred to be effective 8-12f; needs more again. Failed to make any impact in two Dundalk outings at two, gelded now, transformation needed. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (200/1 -100%)Threebiggulps |
200/1(-100%) | (4) Threebiggulps 200/1, Never threatened down the field in a maiden at The Curragh most recent; bred to be a miler; all to prove. No early signs of winning potential in races over 1m at Dundalk and 6f at the Curragh. |

This doesn't look like a particularly strong contest for the venue and KHAFAR may be able to make a winning start for Paddy Twomey. The Dubawi filly made a promising debut when runner-up for Charlie Hills at Newbury last August but didn't progress on two subsequent outings on the all-weather. This looks like a nice opportunity for her. Goomah hinted at ability in a couple of runs last season and could be a danger. The Sioux Nation filly was mid-division on debut and met some traffic when sixth at Dundalk in September. Money for the Fozzy Stack-trained Valentino Eclipse on debut would be noteworthy.

This is a weak maiden for a premier track. GOOMAH showed just about enough in her two runs last year to have a fighting chance.

MAESTRO DES PINS is a notable French recruit and debuts for top connections at an encouraging time of the new National Hunt season. The four-year-old won a Lignieres AQPS bumper last November from which the fourth-placed horse won next time and he will know his job on jumps debut. Arouet was Listed-placed on the Flat last summer and while he finished 17 lengths behind today's rival Manoir De Mirande on his hurdling debut at Gowran in February, his jumping lacked fluency and he will appreciate a return to better ground. Manoir De Mirande is consistent but somewhat limited.

Smart Flat horse AROUET was well behind Manoir De Mirande at Gowran but dry ground will help

8/1(+27%) | (5) Count Bezukhov 8/1, Wootton Bassett colt; dam smart at 11f and won first time out; top trainer; stable second string on jockey bookings. Wootton Bassett colt, dam German Oaks winner, McMonagle prefers stablemate. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 -75%)Antigua |

8th (6) (80/1 -100%)Dunmore |
80/1(-100%) | (6) Dunmore 80/1, Sold for 33,000 euros as a yearling; gelding by top-class miler Palace Pier; half-brother to Armande, high-class at 1m4f; dam very smart middle-distance performer Alpine Snow; probably effective 1m4f; up against it. Palace Pier gelding, dam Listed winner, lots to like on paper, check the market. |

CANNES may be able to make it third-time lucky. The Sea The Stars colt has been runner-up on both outings to date, including when chasing home Asakir on his return over 1m2f here last month. He kept on well close home and stepping up in trip should suit. He can confirm form with Antigua, who was fourth behind him last time and now sports cheekpieces for the first time. A bigger danger may be the Dermot Weld-trained Almazann. The Zarak colt ran a big race on his debut at Cork 16 days ago when losing out by a head to the more experienced Enceladus. He also steps up in trip now and is entitled to improve a bit from his first outing.

This looks between Cannes and ALMAZANN with narrow preference for the latter as he is proven on this sort of ground

(6) (5/2 +62%)Big Dispute |
5/2(+62%) | (6) Big Dispute 5/2, Promising Flat debut comfortably held in a maiden here last time; effective 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good, likes to front run; in form in both codes. Led each time when placed in three maiden hurdles last year; good Flat run here lately. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 -35%)Blue Train |
9/2(-35%) | (3) Blue Train 9/2, Improved down in class on handicap debut when winning a handicap hurdle at Clonmel by a length last time; effective at 2m with soft; can do better in handicaps judged on UK Flat form but needs more at this level. Well-backed winner on handicap debut at Clonmel (2m, soft), up 10lb for snug success. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/2 -13%)Royal Soldier |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Royal Soldier 9/2, Fell in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse latest when looked the likely winner; usually held up; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts with cut; progressing. Gowran winner fell at the last when narrowly in front at Fairyhouse and got 5lb hike. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (13/2 0%)Thisain'tthat |
13/2(0%) | (5) Thisain'tthat 13/2, Ran to form when second beaten 1 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel latest; effective 2m, acts on heavy; consistent in short career, probably a bit to come. Went through the race well when second on handicap debut at Clonmel, (2m4f, yielding). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (13/2 -44%)Shirzan |
13/2(-44%) | (8) Shirzan 13/2, Did it cosily, improved for debut experience when winning a maiden hurdle at Limerick by 5l last time; effective 2-2 1/4m, acts on soft; should improve again but needs to. 4yo won ordinary Limerick maiden hurdle in good style; expected to handle quicker ground. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (10/1 -33%)Crohan Lady |
10/1(-33%) | (7) Crohan Lady 10/1, Returned to form in first time cheekpieces when winning a maiden hurdle at Tramore by 4l last time; effective 2m, acts on yielding and soft; in form, bit more needed again. Prominent throughout when winning ordinary mares' maiden at Tramore (2m, soft);. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (12/1 +25%)Moon Mission |
12/1(+25%) | (4) Moon Mission 12/1, Needed run down the field in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown most recent; effective 2-2 1/2m; inconsistent. Third on handicap debut at Punchestown; mid-field in recent festival contest back there. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 -33%)Le Roi Du Livet |
12/1(-33%) | (2) Le Roi Du Livet 12/1, No obvious excuse well beaten in a maiden hurdle here latest; off a short-break; effective 2m2f, acts on heavy; form boosted, could bounce back. Best maiden hurdle run was when 100-1 third at Naas in January; not in that form since. |

BIG DISPUTE had promising form last year and will be sharper following an encouraging recent Flat reappearance. A debut bumper winner in 2023, the selection's initial hurdling form was ordinary but was placed in useful maidens last year. The form of his Killarney runner-up effort reads well and this appears to be a suitable opportunity for him to strike. Thisain'tthat was keen at Limerick in March but ran well at Clonmel and can progress, while Blue Train steamrolled bookmakers at the latter venue but is 10lb higher. Royal Soldier was arguably an unlucky loser when falling at the last at Fairyhouse but is 5lb higher and has top weight. Lightly-raced four-year-old Shirzan won well at Limerick and is capable of better.

Coming back in trip may suit THISAIN'TTHAT (nap) who travelled kindly when second over 2m4f last time and his siblings like good ground

(5) (11/10 +82%)Enya |
11/10(+82%) | (5) Enya 11/10, Looked in need of stiffer test when fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a 4yo bumper at Bangor-on-Dee latest; tongue-tie first time; effective at 2m on a sound surface; can go well but needs more for the win. Second on hurdling debut in November; respectable since then in bumpers. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (6/5 +82%)Silvereen |
6/5(+82%) | (7) Silvereen 6/5, Still a touch green but improved 5l third in a maiden hurdle here most recent run; off a short-break; effective at 2m on soft and good; more to come. Probably in need of further as she was keeping on when a 5l third over C&D in March. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (17/2 +79%)Peace Of Amaron |
17/2(+79%) | (6) Peace Of Amaron 17/2, Never threatened well beaten in a Mares hurdle here latest; returning from a break; acts on good; looks one for further down the line. Questionable what she achieved on debut and was tailed off here next time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (25/1 +62%)Bits Ballou |
25/1(+62%) | (2) Bits Ballou 25/1, Green, showed nothing comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot last time; needs more for new yard. Well behind Silvereen here in March and she fared no better at Newton Abbot when 50-1. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (125/1 -25%)Dame In Disguise |
125/1(-25%) | (4) Dame In Disguise 125/1, Green and showed little well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle latest; cheekpieces first time; quite poor so far. Very modest form in bumpers and over hurdles, and she's held by Silvereen. |

FIRST CANDIDATE, who won over 3m in her point-to-point days, showed her versatility when she made all to get off the mark over hurdles at Haydock last month. The progressive six-year-old picks up a 7lb penalty but looks readily capable of taking another step forward. Silvereen wasn't beaten far over C&D on her most recent start and is respected in representing a yard that does well here. Her stable companion Briery Rose and Enya, who tries a first time tongue-tie, are others to note.

Clear on all the figures and with a consistent profile, FIRST CANDIDATE is extremely hard to oppose.

(5) (7/4 +7%)City Of Memphis |
7/4(+7%) | (5) City Of Memphis 7/4, Quickened clear comfortably, outclassed rivals down in grade back from lay off when winning the Conditions Race at Gowran Park by 2l last time; effective 6-8f on a sound surface and soft; more to come this term, well worth this step up in class. Won at Gowran after a lengthy absence, left an impression she can go on to better things. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (3/1 +33%)Signora |
3/1(+33%) | (10) Signora 3/1, Quickened clear comfortably, outclassed rivals when winning a maiden at Limerick by 4 1/4l last time; top course trainer; wide draw; effective 6/7f on most ground; highly tried last year, may have bit more to offer now she's had her head in front. Three instances of beaten favouritism before odds-on maiden win, her chance is not obvious. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (6/1 +0%)Carla Ridge |
6/1(+0%) | (4) Carla Ridge 6/1, Very easy winner, looked a group horse in the future when winning Brigid's Pastures Stakes (Listed) at The Curragh by 10l last time; wide draw; effective 6f; good Naas record, has proven herself competitive at Listed/G3 level. Ended last season with a stylish career-best in a 6f Listed race, can prosper at this trip. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/1 -56%)Princess Child |
7/1(-56%) | (1) Princess Child 7/1, Returned to form benefitting from reappearance and patient ride off strong pace when second beaten 1/2l in Park Express Stakes (Group 3) at The Curragh latest; consistent over 7/8f on easy ground; won weak Group race last year but generally consistent. Five wins including a Group 3, solid display at a big price at the Curragh last month. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 +70%)Duckadilly |
10/1(+70%) | (6) Duckadilly 10/1, Never involved beaten 9l in Garnet Stakes (Listed) at Naas last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good; consistent in the main but vulnerable here. Second in a Listed race at Killarney last year, likely to find this company too demanding. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 -60%)Snellen |
12/1(-60%) | (2) Snellen 12/1, Struggled beaten 7l in Blandford Stakes (Group 2) at The Curragh last time; in good form prior; effective 7-10f, suited by sound surface; very hard to evaluate accurately. 2023 Chesham winner, won Group 3 over 1m1f last season after a fine Royal Ascot second. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (12/1 +52%)California Dreamer |
12/1(+52%) | (3) California Dreamer 12/1, Didn't handle the ground down the field in Park Express Stakes (Group 3) at The Curragh most recent; effective 7/8f, suited by a sound surface; inconsistent of late but better ground will help. Two wins on AW, 0-14 on turf, held by Princess Child on last month's Curragh running. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (33/1 +34%)Fregada |
33/1(+34%) | (7) Fregada 33/1, Yard won this last year; struggled in this class down the field in Renaissance Stakes (Group 3) at The Curragh most recent; effective 6f; looks useful and could progress again when stepped back up in trip but this a big ask. Found wanting in two stakes races last year, this is ambitious for her seasonal debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (66/1 -100%)Mallavelly |
66/1(-100%) | (8) Mallavelly 66/1, Ran to form 2 1/4l third in a handicap here most recent run; wide draw; effective 7-8f, acts on any; progressive but vulnerable at this level. Progressive in handicaps last year, sixth to Princess Child on her only stakes race outing. |

CITY OF MEMPHIS was impressive on her comeback at Gowran Park and can make a deeper mark now in stakes company. The lightly-raced Sioux Nation filly was a fine fifth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas on just her second outing last May. Having returned with that cosy success 18 days ago, this looks like an appropriate stepping stone. Carla Ridge achieved a mark of 110 after a wide-margin success in testing conditions at the Curragh over 6f. She sets the standard and it will be interesting to see how she fares. Princess Child ran well when runner-up last time at this level and is another for the shortlist.

Fifth in last year's Irish Guineas, CITY OF MEMPHIS (nap) looks capable of building a strong profile judged on her comeback Gowran win

DIVABORIVA was a debut winner in 2024 and has useful recent form over hurdles. Grade 3-placed in a Punchestown Festival bumper in 2025, she bumped into a subsequent Listed winner here last November and then finished second to Grade 1-heroine Place De La Nation at Thurles. The selection's recent Fairyhouse run was useful and her professional rider again claims 7lb. La Cote Fleurie is out of a half-sister to a French Grade 1-winner and commands plenty of respect, despite returning from a 217-day absence. Hillhead Runner debuts for new connections and will appreciate drying ground.

On her first start for four months, DIVABORIVA ran well in a 3m novice handicap at Fairyhouse and can put her experience to good use

150/1(-50%) | (8) Joker Jack 150/1, Never threatened following wind op down the field in a handicap hurdle at Taunton most recent; second run after wind op; no worthwhile form. Has no form claims and being 6lb out of the weights is no help; instantly opposed. |

SHORTEN SASSY is the pick of this bunch and can get off the mark at the 10th time of asking. A respectable third in a mares' handicap at Southwell most recently, the six-year-old gets the vote in what appears to be a winnable contest on paper. Briery Butterfly was looking held when falling two out in that race. However, she was a well-backed favourite and better was obviously expected. This is no tougher and she could bounce back. Edna E Mode and Churchman complete the shortlist.

This significant step up in distance could make a huge difference to SON OF TYRAN. Shorten Sassy is a solid alternative.

ALCANTOR can make a winning start for Joseph O'Brien. Having won three Group 3s and been placed twice at the top level in France, the New Bay entire sets the standard in this Listed contest. Connections can hope a change of scenery will do him good this term. English raider Excellent Believe already has a solid run under his belt this season, having finished third in the Doncaster Mile Stakes in late March. He could be a big player. Dual course and distance winner Mutasarref has a rating of 109 but needs to improve on last month's seasonal return.

TOKENOMICS caught the eye when running on for fourth after meeting traffic problems over C&D last time and he gets the vote

Reserve; yet to show winning potential, including on handicap debut last time. |

First-time blinkers sparked LADY BLUEBIRD back to life last month and she should again be very competitive if in the same form. A maiden winner in 2024 and initially rated 116, her form dipped afterwards and while she now has 10lb more than at Tramore, she scored easily there and is suited by today's conditions. Jay Pee M disappointed on his most recent start here in March, but is a dual chase winner who is rated 115 in that sphere and has been freshened up since. Eastmore makes his seasonal reappearance and was consistent last year, while Galavanting George is entitled to bounce back from his Bellewstown fall.

With the good ground in his favour, SILENT SELECTOR is interesting after warming up with a run at Clonmel last month

(4) (13/2 +24%)Sunset Boulevard |
13/2(+24%) | (4) Sunset Boulevard 13/2, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Doncaster latest where never travelled; off a short-break; effective 2m6f on good to yielding; ex-Willie Mullins, out of form for new yard though yard's horses tend to improve for fences. Lightly raced 6yo who could prove resurgent on handicap/chase debut. |

Zacony Rebel was the surprise winner of the Boyne Cup over C&D last month. However, the 11-year-old showed plenty of zest on that occasion and a repeat dose can see him on the premises off just 3lb higher. However, the well-handicapped HALL LANE could have a bigger say on these terms. Set to run off 10lb below his last winning mark over fences, this could be a good time to catch the Fergal O'Brien-trained gelding. Nazare and Sunset Boulevard are the pick of the rest.

Some of these look attractively handicapped on their peak figures. HALL LANE brings the added appeal of encouraging form this spring.

Making up the numbers for Ballydoyle here, hooded after disappointing seasonal debut. |

PIERRE BONNARD can bounce back after an underwhelming effort on his return in the Ballysax over C&D last month. The Camelot colt started this season as the main Derby hope for Ballydoyle but failed to fire first time up, with his rider reporting he had given a couple of blows and can leave the run behind. Aidan O'Brien was far from despondent after that performance and much better can be expected. His stablemate Endorsement, who ran a cracker to fill the runner-up berth, and James J Braddock, who was fifth, reoopose from the Ballysax and are others to consider.

After a terrific week for Aidan O'Brien at Chester, PIERRE BONNARD is tipped to rebound from his disappointing run in the Ballysax

Dual-purpose maiden showed some ability in maiden hurdles but poor in handicap starts. |

HUMBLE BRAG was a somewhat unlucky loser last month and can gain some compensation. Donal Hassett's gelding was gambled on when returning to a sounder surface at Wexford in April and was in strong contention until unseating his rider at the final flight. He has been penalised 2lb for that mishap but remains unexposed. Coolboy Christy is another unexposed five-year-old and is entitled to be in the mix on his third handicap start. Bumper winner Shesakindofmagic finished second to Place De La Nation in January and is respected on handicap debut.

Punted into favouritism at Wexford, HUMBLE BRAG exited at the last when still in contention; the well-bred sort may make amends now

All three of Zucayan's career victories have come over C&D and the nine-year-old bounced back to form when filling the runner-up spot over track and trip in December. He is bound to play a leading role, but the one who appeals most is PERGAMON. Jennie Candish's charge sprung a 22/1 surprise when returning to winning ways at Huntingdon last month and could complete a double. Of the remainder, Soleil D'arizona makes the most appeal for the in-form Dan Skelton team.

With further progress a possibility, PERGAMON is taken to follow up his Huntingdon win. Soleil d'Arizona is second pick.

(1) (150/1 -200%)Jerpoint Abbey |
150/1(-200%) | (1) Jerpoint Abbey 150/1, Never threatened down the field in a 4yo bumper at Punchestown most recent; hood first time; hard to recommend. Reported to have made an abnormal respiratory noise in a bumper at Punchestown. |

Fifth over a mile here on debut, BEATIFIC can benefit from a step up in trip. The Donnacha O'Brien-trained filly shaped with plenty of promise when racing up with the pace throughout that day and, with the runner-up franking the form in no uncertain terms with a Group 3 win next time, she looks the one to side with. The stable couldn't be in better form in recent weeks and hold every chance of adding further gains here. Believed is also entitled to come on from an encouraging introduction at Dundalk. Fourth on that occasion, both the second and third have won subsequently. Newcomer My First Rose has to be respected for Dermot Weld.

Normal improvement from her debut may be enough to see BEATIFIC home in front in a race in which several have a similar profile

(1) (100/1 +33%)Clone Cross |
100/1(+33%) | (1) Clone Cross 100/1, Fell early in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal latest; placed in a point but plenty to prove over hurdles. A maiden in points and poor in three maiden hurdles; look elsewhere. |

DOCTOR DU MESNIL disappointed at Cheltenham but remains a nice staying prospect and returns to a course where he won takingly on debut last year. In that run, he conceded 7lb when giving an 11-length beating to a subsequent Grade 2 winner. He drops in grade here, with a tongue-tie left off. Jerobeam Machin was a high-class prospect in the 2023/'24 season when winning a Grade 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival and while he has previous point-to-point experience, the seven-year-old should come on bundles from his April reappearance. Doctor Elvis has solid place claims.

More was expected of DOCTOR DU MESNIL over hurdles last season, but he returns to the scene of his bumper win and is the one to beat

(5) (40/1 -43%)Ezmerellda |
40/1(-43%) | (5) Ezmerellda 40/1, Jumped abysmally, poor chase debut down the field in a handicap chase at Ffos Las most recent; blinkers first time; effective 2m; regressive. Unconvincing form for current yard; well out of the weights. |

Northern Air made a pleasing start for her new yard when second over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last month and she needs to be taken seriously, but the vote goes to CLAIM DU BRIZAIS. Dan Skelton's mare failed to justify favouritism when only fourth at Warwick on her most recent start. However, she was dropped 1lb for that effort and might be worth another chance. Regal Renaissance looks best of the rest.

Topweight REGAL RENAISSANCE (nap) has the least to prove in this scenario and she is first choice ahead of Claim Du Brizais.

(2) (50/1 -317%)Glyndwr |
50/1(-317%) | (2) Glyndwr 50/1, Landed a handicap by 3/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Dundalk penultimate start; continues winning ways, in great form over course and distance when won a claimer at Dundalk last time; effective 7/8f, acts on good, AW; in form, remain competitive. Has won three of his four races at Dundalk, second on his most recent turf run, respected. |

Third over course and distance last month, DIAMOND EXCHANGE could go a couple of places better. Having her first handicap appearance on that occasion, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly made much of the running before weakening late on. Keithen Kennedy, who was on board when the daughter of Wootton Bassett won her maiden at Dundalk in January, is back in the saddle and his 5lb claim could prove crucial in such a tight-knit contest. Candleford Green might prove well treated on her first start outside of maiden company. Willie Mullins' filly got off the mark on her final start of the campaign last October. Three-time scorer Glyndwr is an interesting contender on his debut for Gerard O'Leary.

Better ground can bring out the improvement needed to enable DIAMOND EXCHANGE to step up from a third placing here on seasonal debut

The Paul Nolan-trained ONLY FOR OUR MAN can follow up his Down Royal triumph. A former point-to-point winner, the son of Yeats benefited from a step up in trip to open his account under Rules. A further rise in distance could see the six-year-old progress again and, given his lightly-raced profile, he looks to be a major contender. Tramore third Navy Waves and the veteran Halsafari appeal most of the remainder.

It looked like ONLY FOR OUR MAN had a fair bit up his sleeve when winning last time and a 7lb rise may not stop him following up

Has a lot less to prove than his rivals after winning over Warwick's 2m3f last time. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/2 +25%)Snapius |
5/2(+25%) | (1) Snapius 5/2, Scored by 3l off a 4lb lower mark at Huntingdon penultimate start; ran to form fourth beaten 8 1/2l off 102 last time, 2lb lower here; trainer in form; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on any; back in form, mark demands a bit more. Beat just two finishers at Huntingdon and then behind Midnight View at Warwick. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 -50%)Jafimgoso |
9/2(-50%) | (3) Jafimgoso 9/2, Outpaced, never threatened, needed run well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good; needs to prove ability remains following long lay off but top yard persists. His handicaps have been at 2m and when he tried this trip before he was 66-1 in a maiden. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 +33%)Izzy's Grey |
5/1(+33%) | (4) Izzy's Grey 5/1, Badly hampered late but hinted at return to form beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on good; frustrating maiden. Has the odd bit of form, as when beaten 6.5l at Chepstow last time. |

40/1(+20%) | (6) Man Of Riddles 40/1, Green and jumped poorly well beaten in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon latest; off a short-break; effective 14-16f; out of form in both codes. Regressive on the Flat and tailed off returned to hurdles in March; handicap debut. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (200/1 -614%)Steady The Ship |
200/1(-614%) | (5) Steady The Ship 200/1, Keen, may not have stayed down the field in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby most recent; effective 2 1/2m, acts on good; all to prove. Pulled up in three successive chases before tailed off back over hurdles; no appeal. |

MIDNIGHT VIEW had Snapius behind in fourth when getting off the mark by just over two lengths at Warwick and even a 6lb rise might underestimate the level of authority he showed that day. Provided Matt Sheppard's gelding can back that performance up, he will prove hard to beat. Jafimgoso showed little when only seventh at Huntingdon, but his mark continues to drop and the bumper winner has Harry Skelton back on board.

The most solid option is Midnight View but it could be now or never for JAFIMGOSO to raise his modest profile.

Raised 16lb for two Dundalk wins at 1m and 1m2f, this deeper, trip and turf queries. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/2 -56%)Darius Dark |
7/2(-56%) | (6) Darius Dark 7/2, Ran to form relishing step up in trip on handicap debut landing a handicap by 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Cork last time; dam a winner up to 1m5f, effective 12f; form of recent win franked, more to come. (9) (9/2 +25%)Dreoilin |
9/2(+25%) | (9) Dreoilin 9/2, Ran to form beaten 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at The Curragh last time; effective 1m, stays 10f, all worthwhile form on soft or heavy; consistent, big player if stamina holds up. Promise in both handicaps, good ground and 1m4f are queries, not discounted. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 -69%)Servare |
11/1(-69%) | (5) Servare 11/1, Scored by 7l off a 12lb lower mark at Navan penultimate start; cheekpieces first time; stays 10f well, effective 12f, acts on heavy and yielding; more to come at middle-distances. Won over 1m2f off 12lb lower at Navan, ok run off revised mark latest, cheekpieces on. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 -106%)Chestnut Palace |
33/1(-106%) | (4) Chestnut Palace 33/1, Unsuited by drop in trip when fourth beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden at Gowran Park latest; effective 8-10f, acts on soft; consistent in maidens, could progress now handicapping up in distance. Handicap debutante, just mild promise in maidens, this trip a query on breeding, watch. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 -21%)Divine Believer |
40/1(-21%) | (8) Divine Believer 40/1, Disappointing handicap debut beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at The Curragh last time; gets a mile, seems to act on soft; must bounce back. No show in maidens or on h'cap debut latest, down 3lb but others preferred. |

With the step up to this trip looking exactly what she needs, DREOILIN can register a first career win. A staying-on second over 1m2f at Navan on her penultimate start, the Jim Bolger-trained filly was sent off favourite back at a mile at the Curragh last time. She again found one too good but this looks a good opportunity for her to go one better. Eniac gave the impression that he needed further when keeping on for third over a mile at this venue in October and the son of Siyouni is one to keep a close eye on. Servare failed to supplement his Navan success when only fifth at Cork, but first-time cheekpieces could see him in a better light now.

A tentative vote goes to DARIUS DARK. He's proven on this ground and over this trip and he can confirm Cork form with Servare

4/1(-33%) | (12) Tell The Boys 4/1, Poorly placed to challenge, showed minor promise on debut 9l fourth in a bumper at Wexford first-time out; hood first time; off a short-break; effective 2m; can improve if ridden bit more positively. Stayed on into fourth at Wexford on debut (soft); added hood needs to get more from her. |

Similar efforts in two bumpers; best form of those who have raced, but not a tall standard. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (40/1 -43%)Catofthecanals |
40/1(-43%) | (3) Catofthecanals 40/1, Stopped quickly, poor debut well beaten in Kevin McManus Bookmaker Champion Flat Race (Listed) at Limerick only start; all to prove. Will need to improve a fair bit on her debut when last of seven in a Listed contest. |

(9) (125/1 -25%)Ribadora |
125/1(-25%) | (9) Ribadora 125/1, Mistakes, poor hurdle debut well beaten in a juvenile hurdle here only start; best watched for now. Tailed off in Cork academy hurdle debut (2m2f, good); a lot to find. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (125/1 -89%)Senorita Diana |
125/1(-89%) | (10) Senorita Diana 125/1, Outpaced, modest debut well beaten in a 4yo bumper at Punchestown only start; lots more needed. Sent off 100-1 for Punchestown bumper debut, when beaten 31l; much more needed. |

A well-bred daughter of The Grey Gatsby, AINE can make a winning racecourse debut. Although her half-sister Lantry Lady never ran in a bumper, she was a 2m Grade 3 hurdle winner. Hailing from the Willie Mullins yard, the four-year-old is sure to know her job and looks the one to beat in this finale. Trainer Sam Curling does well with his runners in this discipline and and market support for his newcomer Green Me Granny should be noted. Gordon Elliott's twice-raced Fascinating Rock offspring Cinating looks best of those that have already raced under Rules.

The well-bred AINE looks like the one to beat in the finale. A half-sister to useful hurdler Lantry Lady, she can make a winning debut
Ths is the racecard key.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
