1st (10) The Goat (25/1 -39%)
The Goat

25/1(-39%)
(10) The Goat 25/1, Cracksman colt who surpassed previous form granted the run of things when third in 5-runner Kempton novice (11f) 21 days ago, headed 2f out and keeping on. Stamina drawn out a little more now handicapping.
1m4f may well help but he needs to build markedly on his maiden/novice efforts.
2
2nd (6) Amleto (2.5/1 -11%)
Amleto

2.5/1(-11%)
(6) Amleto 2.5/1, Brother to high-class 1¼m-1½m winner Sea of Class who has progressed with each start to date, off the mark on return (gelded in interim) in a Chester maiden (10.3f, heavy) back in May. Did that readily and highly likely there's more to come now handicapping up in trip.
Brother to 1m4f Group 1 winner Sea Of Class; won well in Chester maiden (10.3f, soft) May.
3
3rd (5) Fox Journey (5/1 +29%)
Fox Journey

5/1(+29%)
(5) Fox Journey 5/1, Showed ability all 3 starts at 2 yrs and boasts 2 wins from 4 starts this campaign, staying on to lead final 100 yds for the latest at Newbury (12f) last month. Attitude looks an asset and unlikely he's finished improving yet.
Won at Newbury (1m4f, good; favourite) 12 days ago; raised 5lb but may have more to give.
4
4th (4) Tony Montana (9/1 +25%)
Tony Montana

9/1(+25%)
(4) Tony Montana 9/1, 425,000 gns Kingman colt who didn't need to improve when opening his account in a Newbury novice (10f) 3 weeks ago, going clear over 1f out. Plenty of stamina on dam's side to think he's worth a crack at this sort of trip now attentions switch to handicaps.
Won comfortably from the front when 8-13 in novice at Newbury (1m2f, good) on latest start.
5th
5th (3) Westerton (3.5/1 +36%)
Westerton

3.5/1(+36%)
(3) Westerton 3.5/1, Cemented positive start in handicaps when off the mark in a Sandown maiden (10f) on penultimate start in June and he took another step forward when third in a competitive Newmarket handicap (10f) 19 days ago, staying on gradually. Unexposed at this sort of trip and well worth considering.
Third from off pace in hot 1m2f handicap at Newmarket, suggesting 1m4f is well worth a go.
6th
6th (2) Struth (10/1 -25%)
Struth

10/1(-25%)
(2) Struth 10/1, Kicked off the campaign with success at Chester (12.3f, heavy) in May and made the frame on 3 of his 4 starts since, albeit not entirely convincing off the bridle having travelled best when third at Ascot (12f) last month. Still, easy ground will hold no fears and not out of things.
Effective at 1m4f-1m6f, including on soft; needs a bit extra but a serious each-way player.
7th
7th (1) Tagabawa (11/1 -22%)
Tagabawa

11/1(-22%)
(1) Tagabawa 11/1, Gelded following promising 2-y-o campaign and duly landed a 4-runner Kempton handicap on return in April. Shaped well when sixth in Royal Ascot handicap next time but not in quite the same form at Newmarket (10f) since. Steps back up in trip now.
Sixth and seventh in hot 1m4f/1m2f handicaps at Royal Ascot and Newmarket.
8th
8th (12) Cool Party (50/1 +24%)
Cool Party

50/1(+24%)
(12) Cool Party 50/1, Progressive dual winner at around 1m as a juvenile. Yet to kick on in handful of starts this term, not making himself of any real short-term interest when third in 5-runner Sandown handicap (14f) 6 days ago. Connections opt for a first-time visor now.
Pretty disappointing this term; gelded before latest start, in cheekpieces; now visored.
9th
9th (7) Inquiring Minds (33/1 -18%)
Inquiring Minds

33/1(-18%)
(7) Inquiring Minds 33/1, All-weather maiden winner (10f) on debut in May who seemed to find Lingfield Derby Trial too much later that month. However, has shaped as if his opening mark is fair since, midfield in competitive 19-runner Royal Ascot handicap (12f) without being given a hard time. Remains with potential.
Well beaten in 1m4f h'cap at Royal Ascot, not having excuse of racing close to strong pace.
10th
10th (8) Clan Chieftain (12/1 +25%)
Clan Chieftain

12/1(+25%)
(8) Clan Chieftain 12/1, Stepped up greatly on his debut effort last year when landing a Chepstow maiden (10f) in June, staying on to lead final 100 yds. Not in same groove at Newmarket later last month but very much the type to do better still in handicaps following wind op for his in-form yard.
Grabbed a 1m2f maiden win in June; had wind surgery after a flop last time; 1m4f can suit.
11th
11th (9) French Invasion (16/1 -33%)
French Invasion

16/1(-33%)
(9) French Invasion 16/1, Well-bred colt who was a taking winner on debut at Kempton (12f) in January before following up under a penalty at Lingfield a month later. Possibly not 100% when third on handicap debut at Southwell (11f) thereafter (hung badly left 2f out) but he remains a bright prospect back from a break.
This half-brother to smart Raheen House was a work in progress in February when last seen.
LTO Selection:

13:50 Goodwood Handicap (Class 2) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

AMLETO proved a ready winner of a Chester maiden in May and, with the second subsequently going close in handicap company, William Haggas' gelding could be well treated debuting in this sphere. Westerton has shaped as if he would be suited by this stiffer test and isn't taken lightly. The son of Belardo could emerge as the chief threat to the selection, ahead of Struth and Tagabawa, who have both performed with credit at this level.

A strong staying handicap for 3-y-os with a host arriving with claims including FOX JOURNEY. He showed a likeable attitude as he doubled his career tally over this trip at Newbury 12 days ago and he could be up to taking another step forward from this 5 lb higher mark. Westerton, stepping up in trip, and low-mileage Amleto are others to consider, whilst Clan Chieftain could also get back on track following a wind op now making his handicap debut.

Amleto and Clan Chieftain are unexposed but WESTERTON and Struth, two more experienced candidates, are preferred.

Finished his Doncaster race on the front foot and he should build on that.

(2) Angel Of England 3.33/1, Promising sort. Second of 10 in minor event at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 2/1) 28 days ago, just failing. Likely to do better still, so should be on the premises.

Ambushed

5.5/1(-83%)
(1) Ambushed 5.5/1, 15/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, won 8-runner minor event at Newcastle (6f) 34 days ago, battling well. May do better still and merits plenty of respect.

(8) Emilshaan 125/1, Twice-raced maiden. 80/1, sixth of 9 in minor event at Haydock (6f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Hard to fancy.
Down the field in both her runs and looks one for nurseries.

14:00 Redcar Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ANGEL OF ENGLAND offered much more encouragement when denied by a neck at Thirsk last month and a similar level of performance may be enough for Edward Bethell's colt to shed his maiden tag here. Classy Boy wasn't disgraced on his debut when third at Doncaster and, with improvement forthcoming, he also makes some appeal. Last-time-out novice winner Ambushed can't be overlooked despite carrying a penalty.

CLASSY BOY shaped well on debut and should be able to find enough improvement to become the latest juvenile winner for a stable that's flying. Angel of England also has potential and looks the main danger, while Ambushed is worthy of respect as the only previous winner in the field.

If Ambushed is vulnerable under a penalty then it's CLASSY BOY or Angel Of England who are likely to take advantage.

What Will Be

5/1(+38%)
(3) What Will Be 5/1, Hurdles winner who added to his tally on the Flat at Chelmsford (14f) in April. Has shaped as if still in good form under both codes since, not sustain effort when 9 lengths fourth in 8-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (15.7f) 3 weeks ago. Forecast better ground a plus back up in trip.
(8) Prince Nino (8/1 +0%)
Prince Nino

8/1(+0%)
(8) Prince Nino 8/1, Modest hurdler who could only run to a similar level as previously for new yard when third of 7 in maiden hurdle at Cartmel (22f) 33 days ago, struggling between last 2 and plugging on. Returns to handicaps from career-low mark if that run has brought him on.

Bergentown

(6) Bergentown 8.5/1, Little worthwhile form in 16 starts over hurdles in Ireland but left those efforts well behind on first start for this yard when scoring at Bangor (19.6f, good) in June. Could only manage eighth at Hexham (16.2f) thereafter and steps back up in trip now.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Perth Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In a contest lacking depth, a tentative vote is given to NASTASIYA, who arrives here following a fair third over a similar distance at Market Rasen last month. She kept on well during the closing stages on that occasion and can get the better of Champagne Gift, who sports a first-time tongue-tie following a fair fourth at Worcester most recently. Bergentown is another to take seriously.

NASTASIYA has returned from an 8-month absence in good form, again filling the frame when staying on for third at Market Rasen (20.6f) last month, and a repeat can see Rebecca Menzies' mare make a bold bid to shed the maiden tag. Champagne Gift and Idilico head up the dangers.

This might go to BERGENTOWN (nap), who appeared to have a bit left in the tank when winning under a confident ride on his stable debut.

LTO Selection:

14:25 Goodwood Group 3 (Class 1) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

This could go the way of the hat-trick seeking WHITE MOONLIGHT, who steps up in grade following a comfortable success in Listed company on the all-weather last month. With the potential of more to come, she is fancied to get the better of Fast Response, who finished seven and a quarter lengths behind the selection at Musselburgh on her penultimate outing. Others of interest include Jumbly and Matilda Picotte, who both drop in grade from their latest runs.

JUMBLY has started out well for Joseph O'Brien and shaped as though this return to 7f would be ideal when a fading fourth over 1m in Royal Ascot's Duke of Cambridge Stakes so edges the vote. Breege heads the list of dangers on the back of her excellent Sandringham runner-up effort at the Royal meeting, with Jersey-fifth Olivia Maralda and hat-trick seeking White Moonlight also in the mix in a very competitive Group 3 event.

With Olivia Maralda having a bit more to prove on softer than good, BREEGE is the tip ahead of Fast Response and Jumbly.

14:35 Redcar Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Land Lover arguably sets the standard on the pick of his efforts this campaign, although the colt was somewhat underwhelming when finishing fourth at Ayr last month. SALAMANCA LAD may well need to progress in order to capitalise in this contest, but Richard Fahey's gelding made eye-catching progress in the second half of his York debut, suggesting that a race of this nature could be within his grasp. Bay Of Australia and Sweet Soul Music complete the shortlist.

SWEET SOUL MUSIC caught the eye with his finishing effort when fourth at Beverley on debut 9 days ago and, if the race doesn't come too soon, he could improve enough to open his account. Land Lover has the best form on show but is more exposed than the selection.

Runner-up over C&D on his most recent run, a 2lb raised mark looks unlikely to stop DALILEO being in the mix and he could be the one to beat dropping in class. That performance was a step in the right direction and Lisa Harrison's inmate gets the vote from For Jim, who kept on for third over an extended 2m7f at Uttoxeter in June. Ultra Violet completes the shortlist.

DALILEO is well handicapped on his Irish form and he produced his best effort for this yard when runner-up over C&D 17 days ago. He now looks primed to strike, possibly at the chief expense of For Jim and Ultra Violet.

Although not at his best recently DOORS BREAKER is back on a good mark and is taken to beat Dalileo and The Longest Day.

Big Evs was an imposing winner of the Windsor Castle in June and it's difficult to envisage him being far away, but preference is for KYLIAN. A beaten favourite on his first two starts, the penny appeared to drop at Newcastle and he took another significant step forward when bolting up in the Dragon Stakes at Sandown. Purosangue weakened late on in the July Stakes at Newmarket but, down in both trip and grade, he's likely to go well. Baheer and Shagraan are far from out of this either.

BIG EVS landed the Windsor Castle with aplomb 6 weeks ago, and with that level of form enough to win most recent renewals of this contest, he's fancied to take this step up to pattern level in his stride and get the better of Kylian, who arrives chasing a hat-trick but may have to settle for silver on this occasion. Shagraan continues to go from strength-to-strength and now down at the minimum trip for the first time he can do battle with Barnwell Boy for third spot.

Royal Ascot winner BIG EVS could take some stopping armed with the rail draw, provided he copes with the ground conditions.

A competitive novice in which several warrant consideration, with NIBRAS ANGEL getting the nod. The Ismail Mohammed-trained filly ran out an impressive winner on her Lingfield debut last month and the third that day won a handicap off 77 next time. The selection may be able to defy a 7lb penalty here, while Gotta Show Me and last-time-out winners Mother Mary, Angel From Above and Moonspirit all enter calculations too.

NIBRAS ANGEL won in the style of a potentially useful filly on debut and can make it 2-2. Fellow previous winners Moonspirit and Mother Mary head the dangers along with Maremma and Vixey in an open race of its type.

Nibras Angel impressed on her debut but the likelihood of rain tips the scales in favour of soft-ground winner MOTHER MARY.

A comfortable winner over C&D last month, preference is for CASTLETOWN, who could prove tough to pass if anywhere near his recent form. Despite being the veteran in the field here, he should not be dismissed for powerful connections, even though he has gone up 5lb for the aforementioned success. So Be It finished in second behind the selection on that occasion and could get closer to him now 5lb better off, while Henry Brown is another to consider.

A few of these arrive with question marks against them but SO BE IT is knocking on the door and with few miles still on the clock he can gain his breakthrough win at the chief expense of in-form course scorer Spark of Madness. Last year's winner Get With It is another who can have a say.

Following a series of decent efforts, SO BE IT is taken to get off the mark by reversing recent C&D form with Castletown.

PADDINGTON has improved markedly this year as he started off in a Naas handicap off 97. A couple of starts later he was winning the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh and the Group 1 wins have just kept on coming, as he was awesome in the St James's Palace Stakes before showing his versatility to beat Emily Upjohn over 10 furlongs in the Coral-Eclipse. It is very difficult to get away from Aidan O'Brien's son of Siyouni and he's taken to have too much class for Queen Anne Stakes second Inspiral lining up in receipt of 4lb from the daughter of Frankel. Chindit might have a squeak if he can come back to his Lockinge form.

It's slightly surprising that Aidan O'Brien hasn't won this race since 2016 but in PADDINGTON he saddles a top-notch 3-y-o who is strongly fancied to complete a superb 6-timer in 2023. Inspiral is very smart in her own right and following an excellent reappearance run at Ascot she will hopefully ensure the selection is made to work for it.

Having won the Irish Guineas, St James's Palace Stakes and Eclipse, this seaon's Group 1-winning machine PADDINGTON is the one to beat.

It can be a dangerous policy taking on one of Sir Mark Prescott's three-year-olds when they find their stride in handicaps and the progressive TIFFANY is well fancied in her quest for a four-timer. The daughter of Farhh has shown versatility regarding surface and switching back to turf isn't expected to pose any issues on the back of Saturday's cosy Newcastle success. The hat-trick seeking Freak Out is an obvious danger, while the class-dropping Highwaygrey is also noted.

TIFFANY is an archetypal Sir Mark Prescott 3-y-o, improving again to complete the hat-trick at Newcastle on Saturday. and she'll take an awful lot of stopping off the same mark. Highwaygrey can place again along with the hat-trick seeking Freak Out.

The forecast rain is an imponderable for TIFFANY but she escapes a penalty for her fairly comfortable AW win on Saturday.

JACKHAMMER only found one too good in a similar event at Cartmel 11 days ago and a reproduction of that level of form would give him a big chance here, despite a 2lb rise. Restandbethankful disappointed last time but is a player based on his previous victory at Market Rasen, while Check My Pulse and Monoxide are others who make the shortlist.

A few with chances but CHECK MY PULSE really caught the eye when a fast-finishing fourth at Hexham last time and can capitalise on an easing mark. Irish-challenger Monoxide could emerge as the main danger, with Jackhammer and Pittsburg appealing as the pick of the rest in the fight for minor honours.

Having come back to form recently JACKHAMMER, who acts on any ground, is taken to beat Pittsburg.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

TROPICAL ISLAND justified strong market support when making a winning debut at Ripon and, open to any amount of improvement, she could take this step up in class in her stride. Dapperling must enter calculations following her massive effort when second in the Weatherbys Super Sprint, while Flora Of Bermuda also drops in grade following an honourable sixth in the Queen Mary. Juniper Berries was a fine fourth in that contest but could then only manage seventh in the Super Sprint.

An excellent race of its type with 11 previous winners in the field. FLORA OF BERMUDA emerged with plenty of credit to finish first home on the far side when sixth of 26 in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot so earns the vote. Dapperling had a few of these in behind when an excellent second in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury so must be respected, while Make It Easy and Tropical Island both have potential for better.

The prospect of testing ground sways the vote in favour of INDISPENSABLE who raised her game in an Irish Listed race on soft.

POSITIVE IMPACT has been given plenty of time to acclimatise after his short stint in Dubai earlier in the year, and is interesting introduced back into the fray at this time of year. He seems ideally suited by a mile and, with Connor Planas claiming 5lb, he has a live chance of making a winning return. Hamilton winner Pisanello is high on the shortlist off just 3lb higher, while Liberty Lane also enters calculations.

A useful handicap. LIBERTY LANE could do with learning to race more efficiently but there's still a feeling he could have a bigger performance in him and he's taken to see off his older rivals. Positive Impact struggled in Dubai at the start of the year but did well in Britain in 2022 and is second choice with Connor Planas taking 5 lb off his back. The likeable Pisanello should give it another good shot, while Koy Koy is fresh for this time of year and should find this easier than the Hunt Cup.

The one with most potential is the 3yo, LIBERTY LANE (nap), who kept on well for a creditable fourth at Newmarket recently.

GARDE DES CHAMPS was an impressive 11-length winner over C&D when last seen in June and the seven-year-old is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. Well Planted also ran well over this track and trip on his most recent outing, finishing second a month ago, and he could prove to be the main threat. That said, Mcgowan's Pass and Harel Du Marais could also go well.

Garde des Champs is sure to be popular after his recent breakthrough success over C&D but he may have to play second fiddle to veteran MCGOWAN'S PASS, who hasn't won for a long time but deserves plenty of credit for consistency and signalled he could be ready to strike when going close at Market Rasen 11 days ago. Well Planted and Cirque Royal can battle out third spot.

Confidence in WELL PLANTED will waver if there is significant rain but he ran well over C&D last month and is still on a workable mark.

In a wide-open event marginal preference is for the highly-progressive LA ISLA MUJERES, who created a big impression when accounting for a decent field by seven lengths at Salisbury last time. An 11lb rise for that success will make her life tougher here, but the daughter of Lope De Vega may well defy that on her way to stakes company. Decoration and Therapist also merit plenty of respect following some encouraging placed efforts on their most recent starts. Others to note are Sirona, Queen Regent and Value Added.

DECORATION has been going the right way in each of her 4 starts so far, only narrowly beaten by another improver at Windsor 9 days ago, so she can continue her progress to gain a first handicap success. Heading the list of dangers is La Isla Mujeres, whose trainer Ralph Beckett has won this race twice in the last 3 years, while Queen Regent also merits consideration.

The pick is QUEEN REGENT (nap). She's unraced on turf but her latest run behind Value Added over 9.4f was brimful of promise.

Having struck the woodwork at Nottingham on his penultimate outing, MUTANAASEQ made no mistake when winning at Catterick five days later. Ruth Carr's eight-year-old remains feasibly treated judged on past exploits, too, and he appeals as the one to beat under a penalty. Recent Thirsk scorer Rainbow Rain looks set to go well, while Point Of Woods, who landed this contest two years ago, should not be underestimated.

RAINBOW RAIN was better than ever when doubling his career tally at Thirsk a month ago and in a race featuring mainly out-of-form rivals he looks to have plenty in his favour. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WRECKING BALLBILLY hit the crossbar on his debut at Killarney in May and the son of Youmzain could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience under his belt. Al Kalila represents powerful connections and this 85,000-euro purchase has to be of some interest on his racecourse bow, while Balfour Girl and Sing My Story are other debutants who merit a market inspection.

WRECKING BALLBILLY offered plenty to work on when second at Killarney first time out and, while he's been off 80 days subsequently, he's worth a chance to go one better. Al Kalila is an interesting newcomer for a stable that does well in this sphere and Aughafatten is one to note if strong in the betting.

The most obvious answer is WRECKING BALLBILLY, who made a very promising debut at Killarney in May.

17:10 Galway Handicap 9f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Claiming 7lb off GENUINE ARTICLE leaves him nicely treated here and there looks potential for further improvement from the Muhaarar gelding on just his third career outing. He was a big eye catcher on soft ground on his debut at Killarney last October and was value for a bit more than his winning margin on his return a fortnight ago at the same track. Jockey Conor Stone-Walsh has impressed this year and is good value for his allowance. Emmet Mullins also takes 7lb off the back of Malbay Madness and he could be a danger. The Wings Of Eagles gelding makes his third outing for the yard and drops in trip having faded late on in the Ulster Derby last time. Sea Gardens is fitted with cheekpieces now having been beaten favourite on his return in a Listowel maiden in early June. He is another to consider on his handicap debut.

There should be more to come from recent Killarney maiden winner GENUINE ARTICLE and he can give the weight away on handicap debut. Sea Gardens is another who appeals as a likely improver now handicapping and he's second choice ahead of Lan Cinnte.

Preference is for LAN CINNTE whose form looks strong and is proven on soft ground

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

THUNDER BALL ran a blinder to finish fourth in the Britannia at Royal Ascot, having been raised a 16lb for his Newbury novice success. The Night Of Thunder gelding has gone up a further 3lb for that latest effort, but he is still improving and could have further progress in his locker. Paul & Oliver Cole's charge receives a tentative vote in a wide-open contest, while Rhoscolyn, who bounced back to form with a fair second at Beverley nine days ago, can give him plenty to think about. Isla Kai, Darkness, Urban Sprawl and Classic are just a few others to consider.

RHOSCOLYN's runner-up effort in the 2021 Golden Mile shows he can cope with the demands of big-field handicaps here and he's worth siding with after showing signs that he may be ready to capitalise on his reduced mark at Beverley last week. Charlie Johnston's Love de Vega should be spot on for this after his recent comeback outing and is of interest with Frankie Dettori getting the call-up. Richard Hannon has won this 3 times since 2018 so his pair Classic and Dark Thirty also merit respect.

Richard Hannon has won three of the last five runnings and the stable's lightly raced 3yo CLASSIC earns the vote after his Sandown win.

EY UP ITS JAZZ has been steadily progressive this season, winning at Leicester in April before striking at Thirsk the following month. He still looks capable off this mark having finished a creditable second at Beverley nine days ago, and Tony Coyle's gelding shades preference. War Defender appeals as a likely player eased 1lb after his recent Doncaster third, with Motarajel expected to go well too.

EY UP ITS JAZZ has already won twice this year and got back on the up when runner-up at Beverley 9 days ago. so he's worth a chance to resume winning ways against more exposed types. War Defender and Makalu also arrive in good order and could well be involved in the finish.

17:40 Galway Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

UP AND UNDER should prove hard to beat in this as he takes a drop in class back into maiden company. The Lope De Vega colt was last seen finishing fifth in the Irish Derby and had been runner-up in a couple of the leading classic trials prior to his run at the Curragh. He has a lofty enough mark of 106 and it would be disappointing if he couldn't collect now. Willie Mullins runs smart jumper Winter Fog and he could be the one to give the selection most to do. The Papal Bull gelding bounced back to winning ways in a conditions hurdle at Cork last month. The Banger Doyle ran well when second in a Killarney maiden just over two weeks ago and could be one for a place.

UP AND UNDER has placed form at Group level, including with plenty of give underfoot, and this represents a good opportunity for Joseph O'Brien's colt to open his account. Winter Fog, The Last Mardi and Ninth Loch are a trio of others to consider.

This is a perfect opportunity for UP AND UNDER, whose two Group 3 seconds put him in a different league to the bumper/hurdles winners

17:52 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A comfortable winner in novice company on the all-weather last month, BATTISTA looks the one to beat on his handicap debut. An opening mark of 77 looks workable for John and Thady Gosden's three-year-old and, given his dam is a half-sister to Group 1-placed El Drama, he could have more to offer. Monte Linas seems his most serious danger following a success, albeit off a 4lb lower mark, over this distance at York. Crystal Casque also warrants a second look.

On profile, BATTISTA rather stands out as a 3-y-o on the up with the potential to rate quite a bit higher than his current rating. Monte Linas is the obvious danger on the back of his York win.

Preference is for MONTE LINAS (nap) who appeared to relish the step up to 1m and galloping track when winning at York last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MEDIA GUEST finished first past the post at Chelmsford last month but for subsequently losing the race in the stewards' room. He's only 1lb higher on this switch to turf and compensation could await for George Margarson's gelding. Look Back Smiling didn't appear the easiest of rides when hanging right at Beverley last time, but the three-year-old is capable on a going day and is feared most. Cold Stare is another to consider on his best form this season.

MEDIA GUEST looked to have ended a long losing run at Chelmsford City last time only to lose the race in the stewards' room and can gain compensation nudged up just 1 lb here. Gone is enjoying an excellent season and rates the chief threat, with Roach Power and Cold Stare not ruled out either in a trappy-looking handicap.

This looks a bit trappy but LOOK BACK SMILING gets the vote ahead of Media Guest.

18:10 Galway Handicap 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

NO THANKS won this race a couple of years ago and could run well again after a decent effort over hurdles on his most recent outing. The Matthew Smith-trained gelding chased home Father Jed at Ballinrobe eight days ago and the fact that he has winning form here in soft ground looks a big plus. En Or was a cosy enough winner at Fairyhouse last time and has to be respected after just a 4lb rise for that win. He does have plenty of weight to carry on this ground though. Hallowed Star is fitted with cheekpieces after a poor run over in Cartmel last time. He is a three-time winner over jumps at the track and could be each-way material if the headgear reignites his spark.

The step up to 2m should play to the strengths of EN OR who can provide Tony Martin with a third win in this race since 2013. Luke Comer's Seattle Sound beat the selection at Limerick last month and is second choice ahead of Willie Mullins pair Immelmann and Mr Escobar.

Noel Meade's runner CRASSUS made encouraging return to action at the Curragh and is interesting on the form he showed in 2021

Some ability on third start but proved almost uncontrollable last time; hard to recommend.
LTO Selection:

18:22 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tentative vote is given to TREVOR, who finished two and a half lengths behind the winner at Windsor last month. He makes his nursery debut here and, with further progression likely, Pat Phelan's gelding can get the better of Scoops Ahoy, who may find this to be easier than his most recent start at York. Fifty Grand Slater completes the shortlist in first-time cheekpieces.

A very weak nursery. FIFTY GRAND SLATER ran poorly last time but his AW second prior to that reads well in the context of this race and he can bounce back to form in a headgear combination. Scoops Ahoy, another who needs to shrug off a tame effort last time, could be the one to give him most to do.

This can go to TREVOR who has shown plenty of early speed over 6f in his last two starts, so the drop to 5f looks a good move.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Those with racecourse experience haven't set much of a standard and warrant closer attention once receiving a handicap mark. The betting market is likely to prove informative for the remaining newcomers, with a tentative vote going to MARIE ELLEN. Marco Botti's charge is a half-sister to the highly-rated Rainbow Fire and she may take some beating if anywhere near the same ability. Wren Officer and Showmethewayhome are other interesting players.

The 2 with experience have shown next to nothing so far so an excellent opportunity for one of the newcomers to make a winning start, WREN OFFICER making the most appeal before market clues. Marie Ellen is next on the list.

The market should be informative but at this stage the vote goes to MARIE ELLEN, who is a half-sister to two useful 2yo winners.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

FINAL ORDERS was a revelation when sent over fences last season, completing a five-timer in a valuable contest at Leopardstown in February before finishing fifth in the Grand Annual. He warmed up for this with a win on the level at Bellewstown, won't mind the soft ground, and has a nice racing weight. Fury Road is one of a strong team of contenders for Gordon Elliott and did most of his racing in Grade 1s last term, including when third in a pair of Leopardstown contests. He goes well on right-handed tracks. Born By The Sea won the Galway Blazers over C&D in 2021 and was fifth to Gabbys Cross in it last year. He's a few pounds out of the handicap but was a very creditable sixth in the Grand National and can go well at a price. Kilcruit is up 12lb for a front-running success on his most recent chase start at Punchestown, and Hewick carries 12lb more than when winning this last year.

Ultra-competitive but KILCRUIT looked an ideal type for this when scoring at the Punchestown Festival in impressive fashion, so earns the vote. Enniskerry and Hollow Games are unexposed chasers who surely have more to offer, while Fury Road is on a good mark on the pick of his form in Grade 1s.

Perhaps Danny Gilligan's 7lb claim will prove crucial on ASH TREE MEADOW, fourth to Hewick in this event 12 months ago

18:52 Sandown Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

EMPEROR'S STAR made a pleasing start to his racing career when finishing second over this distance at Newmarket last month. Charlie Appleby's 300,000-euro purchase boasts an appealing pedigree, being out a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Cloth Of Stars, and he likely has more to offer. Others to consider include C&D fourth Wild Waves and the unraced Golden Deeds.

EMPEROR'S STAR shaped with plenty of encouragement despite being beaten at short odds on debut at Newmarket and he could be useful. Wild Waves also showed plenty to work on when fourth over C&D so is respected, while Teraabb is a newcomer to note (holds a Group 2 entry).

Preference is for EMPEROR'S STAR who pulled clear of the rest when runner-up on last month's Newmarket debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GAME BREAKER overcame a troubled passage when justifying favouritism on her nursery bow on Friday and the daughter of Soldier's Call is fancied to lift the flag once again. Cuban Secret may prove more competitive now dropped in class and could give the selection most to think about. Angel Shared's opening mark looks workable on her penultimate second at York and she could also have a say.

Penalised winners GAME BREAKER and Indication Spirit look the pair to focus on. The former showed much-improved form when justifying market confidence on her nursery bow at Thirsk so shades the vote.

This is a tight call between the two penalised runners in Indication Spirit and GAME BREAKER but the vote goes to the latter.

19:15 Galway Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

BANNTOWN GIRL was placed for the second year running in a valuable mares' handicap at Leopardstown in February and has a sizeable pull at the weights with the winner Ballybawn Belter. Sonny Carey's charge got her head in front in a Ballinrobe maiden in May and will enjoy the soft ground. Delante, a half-sister to the dam of Douvan and Jonbon, won her only start in France on soft and showed her first bit of worthwhile Irish form when second to Red Ball Of Fire at Sligo. There should be more to come from her. The selection's Leopardstown conqueror Ballybawn Belter also hit the target at the Punchestown Festival in April. She's up another 7lb for that, and dropping back from 2m4f may not be ideal, but she is still a big player. Ready Downpatrick winner Cottie and Vischio, who has been in good form on the Flat, may both find underfoot conditions softer than ideal.

AURORA PRINCESS has been brought along steadily over hurdles since joining Emmet Mullins and this fairly useful winner on the level can take a big step forward on just her second handicap start now the headgear goes back on. Cottie and Royal Eagle came home 1-2 at Downpatrick last time and can fight it out for minor honours this time. Feet of A Dancer and Banntown Girl complete the shortlist in a very competitive handicap.

Very open with an each-way vote going to the improving 4yo FEET OF A DANCER

LTO Selection:

19:27 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Grand Providence has won her last two starts and, as she remains unexposed, the three-year-old enters calculations. As does Roost, who has been gelded since he was last seen and he retains scope for progression. However, ALHAMBRA PALACE showed no signs of stopping when romping home over 1m4f at Ascot last Friday and a 6lb penalty might not be enough to prevent a follow-up success over this longer trip.

ALHAMBRA PALACE cleared away in taking fashion to open his account at Ascot 5 days ago and he's likely to go in again if the race doesn't come too soon. Kyle of Lochalsh fits a similar mould having improved to score at Newbury last time, so he's the main dagner ahead of Grand Providence.

The choice is ALHAMBRA PALACE who was so impressive when winning at Ascot five days ago. His 6lb penalty shouldn't stop him.

19:37 Leicester Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CROWN DREAMS posted an eye-catching effort on his debut at Haydock 12 days ago and while he was no match for the winner that day, he created the impression that he will have plenty of success moving forward. His experience over the trip, with similar ground forecast, should set him up nicely for tonight's task. Dubai Dreamer and well-bred newcomer Welleef also merit consideration.

DUBAI DREAMER again looked a work-in-progress but showed definite promise when third in a Salisbury novice (7f) 18 days ago, and with potential for better still, he could be worth chancing to take another step forward. Welleef and Lohengrin are a couple of interesting newcomers and both need monitoring for their respective yards. Crown Dreams, runner-up on debut at Haydock, is another to note.

Preference is for CROWN DREAMS, who made a promising start when runner-up behind a useful rival at Haydock two weeks ago.

LTO Selection:

19:50 Galway Maiden Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A winning point-to-pointer in late 2021, HIGH CLASS HERO overcame a long absence to score on his Rules debut in a Listowel bumper last month. He beat a useful type who has subsequently won his first two starts over hurdles very easily and seems sure to stay this trip, with that bumper win having come over 2m4f. Paul Townend's mount is clearly Wille Mullins' main hope, although stablemates All The Others and Alvaniy have both shown enough in bumpers to be contenders if they take to hurdles. Tag Man's Leopardstown second to subsequent Grade 1 winner Good Land is an eyecatching line of form and a mark of 130 sets a very good standard. There was little wrong with his latest run in a winners' contest at Punchestown, but he will need to settle better to see out this trip. Arabian Diamond was around a dozen lengths behind Tag Man when sixth in a Fairyhouse maiden on debut and shaped like a strong stayer when routing his rivals in a Sligo bumper last time.

HIGH CLASS HERO has already won a point and made a big impression when readily going clear to score in a bumper at Listowel a couple of months ago, so he's worth a chance to make a successful transition to hurdling. Arabian Diamond has plenty of potential returning to hurdling and he's considered a big threat, while Tag Man has the best hurdling form on show, so he's another big player.

A ready winner over a decent sort in his bumper win HIGH CLASS HERO (nap) looks the one here on hurdles debut

LTO Selection:

20:02 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Prenup has run with credit since joining Jane Chapple-Hyam and, having been nudged down 1lb after another respectable effort at Ascot last month, she remains of interest, despite the burden of top weight. However, BERNADINE has a live chance on these terms and, with her weight-for-age allowance boosting the appeal, the three-year-old is taken to confirm Ascot form with the aforementioned filly. Leicester-scorer Measured Moments also makes the shortlist.

ELLADE comes here on a lengthy losing run but shaped well when runner-up at Chepstow last time and can race off the same mark so edges the vote. Bernadine is feared most on the back of her good Ascot second, although D Day Odette, Measured Moments and Hakuna Babe all need factoring into a competitive handicap too.

This can go to BERNADINE, a three-time winner this year who probably put up her best effort when second at Ascot last time.

LTO Selection:

20:12 Leicester Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BASHFUL, who has won his last three starts in a progressive manner, retains a competitive mark based on his peak efforts and looks the one to be with here. The five-year-old showed resilience when challenged near the finish at Hamilton last time and, off just 1lb higher, he is hard to ignore in his bid to extend the winning sequence. Mahanakhon rates a big threat now tried with cheekpieces, while Grand Libya is dangerous to underestimate.

A few in with a squeak but BASHFUL is in the form of his life at present so Iain Jardine's 5-y-o gets the vote to bring up an impressive 4-timer having been nudged up just 1 lb for his recent Hamilton success. Mahanakhon wasted no time getting back to form when a close third under this rider at Pontefract 12 days ago so he may emerge as the main danger, ahead of Pillar of Hope and Shaladar.

The vote goes to BASHFUL (nap), who has won his last three starts and is only 1lb higher than when scoring at Hamilton last time.

(8) Hartur D'arc 33/1, Latest win in hurdle at Wexford in May. Respectable seventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Tipperary (20f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Tongue strap on first time and he looks a shade too high in the weights.
Plenty of improvement needed from recent handicap debut effort; tongue tie fitted.

Building Bridges

(1) Building Bridges 40/1, 12/1, career best when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at Down Royal (20.4f, good) 61 days ago by 2½ lengths from Ossifer Hops, kept up to work. 9 lb rise asks for more.
Down Royal comeback win over Ossifer Hops; more needed again.

Big Debates

40/1(-150%)
(11) Big Debates 40/1, Two wins from 6 runs last season. Latest win in chase at Fairyhouse in December. Creditable fifth of 25 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Punchestown (19.8f, good to soft) 98 days ago. Lower in the weights over timber compared to chase mark.
Better chaser but Punchestown festival hurdle run puts him in the mix; soft ground suits.

Another Choice

50/1(-25%)
(7) Another Choice 50/1, Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (24.4f, good, 4/1) 44 days ago. Hood on first time and this isn't an easy race to bounce back in.
Too keen and didn't get home when pulled up on comeback run; hooded and chance if settling.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Another devilishly competitive handicap, but SOMETHING ABOUTHER is interesting from an initial mark of 114. Padraig Roche's mare won her only bumper start on soft ground and relished the step up in trip to 2m6f when landing a Punchestown maiden last month. She'll come up the hill well if in the same form and is open to plenty of improvement. Fancy A Cosmo represents a stable in form and was placed on soft ground at this venue in the autumn. He put his handicap experience to good use when easily landing a Wexford maiden in early July. We'llhavewan beat a pair of subsequent winners at Ballinrobe in May and has won over 2m5f in the past. He's up 12lb for that latest win but there could well be more to come. Thornleigh Frank and Miss Tempo are both on a hat-trick but have risen sharply in the ratings.

Any number to consider but THORNLEIGH FRANK is improving at a rate of knots and with this trip expected to be within range, he is taken to shrug off another hefty rise in the weights. Something Abouther and We'llhavewan head the list of dangers, though Shanwalla, a winner at the meeting in 2021, also demands respect.

Preference is for WE'LLHAVEWAN, whose Ballinrobe win couldn't have worked out better and is proven over this trip and on soft

(7) Eastern Charm (1.5/1 -20%)
Eastern Charm

1.5/1(-20%)
(7) Eastern Charm 1.5/1, Progressive from a low base this term, gaining third success from last 4 starts back on AW at Chelmsford (1m) last month. This undoubtedly tougher back on turf but she's in excellent hands and further progress distinctly possible.
Has won three from four since returning; progressing steadily but takes on better company.
(1) Palamon (3.33/1 +52%)
Palamon

3.33/1(+52%)
(1) Palamon 3.33/1, Promise on first of 3 starts in novice/maiden company and, having been gelded, shaped better than bare result when fifth on handicap debut at Bath (1m) in June (reportedly finished lame). Remains with potential to do better and market support behind him would look significant.
Hasn't built on a promising debut and finished lame last time; enough to prove.
(5) Loddon (6.5/1 +28%)
Loddon

6.5/1(+28%)
(5) Loddon 6.5/1, Fair form on 2 of his 3 starts in maiden/novice events at up to 10f since the spring and she had soft ground as a plausible excuse on handicap debut at Salisbury (9.9f) 18 days ago. Yard enjoying a good spell and she's not one to write off.
May have found 1m2f in soft ground too much last time and had shown ability before that.
(2) City Cyclone (7.5/1 +25%)
City Cyclone

7.5/1(+25%)
(2) City Cyclone 7.5/1, Fair maiden who is beginning to look exposed and he faded out of things back from a short break on yard debut at Newbury (1m) 12 days ago. Eased 2 lb ahead of this but others make greater appeal.
Placed three times in novices for the Kublers but held in both handicaps; more needed.
(8) Italian Magic (9/1 +44%)
Italian Magic

9/1(+44%)
(8) Italian Magic 9/1, Offered something to work on in trio of 1m novice events but easy to back and ultimately finished well held on handicap debut at Newbury (1m, firm) back in June. Return to this forecast easier ground may help with cheekpieces now enlisted.
Hasn't built on a fairly promising debut at Nottingham in April; cheekpieces on.
(4) Dicko The Legend (11/1 +8%)
Dicko The Legend

11/1(+8%)
(4) Dicko The Legend 11/1, Displayed promise on first of 3 novice outings for Joseph Parr as a juvenile. Gelded/switched yard, possibly needed the run on handicap debut at Leicester (7f) 5 weeks ago, weakening gradually. Needs to leave that behind if he's to figure.
Regressed in three starts for another yard last year and little on stable/handicap debut.
(6) H Key Lails (14/1 +0%)
H Key Lails

14/1(+0%)
(6) H Key Lails 14/1, Dual winner on AW for Craig Lidster and solid start for new yard (acquired for £16,000) when second at Brighton (7f) on penultimate run last month. Not in same form at Epsom (7f) 13 days ago, however.
Two AW wins this year but ran well on turf on stable debut; latest effort can be forgiven.

20:32 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EASTERN CHARM's narrow winning margin at Chelmsford last time doesn't tell the whole story as she was running on strongly at the finish, creating the impression that there is plenty more to come from the William Haggas-trained filly. With Adam Farragher's claim effectively cancelling out her 2lb rise, she has a live chance of following up this evening. H Key Lails, who steps back up in trip, and the unexposed handicapper Playupskyblues appeal most from the opposition.

EASTERN CHARM has made a bright start to her 3-y-o campaign from a low base, making it 3 wins from 4 starts at Chelmsford (1m) 24 days ago, and, with her rider's claim off-setting her latest weight rise, she earns the vote to enhance her already impressive strike rate. Playupskyblues and Palamon, who remains the type to do better, are others to consider.

The vote goes to PLAYUPSKYBLUES who ran better on his first start since wind surgery when sixth in a big field at Newbury last time.

(2) Ancient Capital 4.5/1, After 11 months off, ran well when third of 10 in handicap at Newbury (13.3f, good to firm, 18/1) 20 days ago, albeit having run of race. Could do better with his reappearance run behind him.

Pfingstberg

(6) Papa Ricco 40/1, Winner at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) in April. However, he hasn't gone on from that effort since, fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW,12/1) 32 days ago. Hood/cheekpieces now reached for.
Won at Nottingham in April but has been well held after slow starts in three runs since.
(7) Show Me The Wire (100/1 -150%)
Show Me The Wire

100/1(-150%)
(7) Show Me The Wire 100/1, Down the field in a trio of starts so far, ninth of 11 in minor event (250/1) at Chelmsford City (1m) 69 days ago (gelded since). Needs to leave previous efforts behind as he goes up in trip for handicap debut.
Still early days but he needs a transformation on his handicap debut; been gelded.
(8) Leazy Lindsay (125/1 -150%)
Leazy Lindsay

125/1(-150%)
(8) Leazy Lindsay 125/1, Little impact in 3 outings this year, fifth of 6 in maiden at Salisbury (9.9f, good to firm, 150/1) 35 days ago. Much more required as she goes handicapping.
Has not shown much so far and this looks a tough assignment on her handicap debut.
LTO Selection:

20:42 Leicester Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It's difficult to get away from SELENACHORUS, whose 11-length success over course and distance last week is the strongest piece of form on offer. The daughter of Sea The Moon has bags of scope for progression in handicaps and a 6lb penalty is unlikely to stop the forward momentum. Rose Camira is interesting dropping back in trip and, along with the lightly-weighted Pfingstberg, can give the selection something to think about.

On her second handicap start, SELENACHORUS improved again when a wide-margin winner at this C&D a week ago and a penalty might not be enough to prevent her from following up. Ancient Capital made an encouraging reappearance and could be the biggest threat, ahead of Rose Camira.

This can go to SELENACHORUS, who trounced her rivals in a C&D handicap last week and looks very well treated under a penalty.
