(15) Garden Route 8/1, Gelded/had wind op/off 8 months before easily landing the odds in 11-runner minor event at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm) 38 days ago. This son of Galileo can take another step forward on his handicap debut as his stamina is drawn out more. Interesting.

LTO Selection:

13:50 Goodwood Handicap (Class 2) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

PERFUSE was sent off favourite for the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot on the back of two impressive displays at Nottingham and Doncaster and, although he only finished fifth on that occasion, this drop in trip could see him get back to winning ways. The unexposed pair Garden Route and Alsakib come into this with similar profiles having won novice events on their latest starts. Both are now having their first taste in handicap company, so they warrant serious consideration.

Lots of potential on show in this ultra competitive handicap but Sir Michael Stoute's improving PERFUSE is hard to side against after his eye-catching fifth in Royal Ascot's King George V Handicap and has winning form in the mud too. William Haggas' handicap-debutant Garden Route appeals greatly as an improver and heads the list of dangers, although Crack Shot is weighted to have a big say too despite being 1 lb out of the handicap. Coverdale and Killybegs Warrior complete the shortlist.

Perfuse could dominate the betting. There is stacks of interest elsewhere, though, including from CRACK SHOT and Promoter.

LTO Selection:

14:05 Nottingham Maiden (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KEY TO COTAI has the form in the book to suggest she can win this after a Salisbury second and a Newmarket fourth, and a repeat of either may prove good enough in this lower grade. Rogue Rosie is an obvious danger after her Lingfield second when caught late on over a furlong further, while Westend Avenue looks a really interesting newcomer for Adrian Nicholls and could mount a pretty serious challenge too.

ROUGE ROSE has run to a similar level both starts, but remains with potential, particularly now down at the minimum trip given how she travelled through the race at Catterick last time. Key To Cotai sets the standard but is slightly more exposed. Eyes Closed is the interesting newcomer, and market support for her should be noted.

Ed Walker's filly KEY TO COTAI was fourth in a stronger race than this at Newmarket last month and can open her account.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Galway Maiden Chase 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SIR ARGUS is a half-brother to useful chaser Brahma Bull and goes over fences for the first time after showing improved form over hurdles in the spring. After landing a maiden at Cork, he came home well to be third in a big-field handicap at the Punchestown Festival and makes plenty of appeal for the champion trainer. Joyeux Machin bounced back to form after a few indifferent runs over hurdles when easily beating Jungle Prose at Wexford, and his chase debut at the same track was promising. Paul Nolan's charge was in with every chance until making a costly mistake at the last, which saw him drop to third behind the talented Ballyadam. Jungle Prose was a very progressive hurdler last term and was notably weak in the market when runner-up on chase debut at Kilbeggan. She should be all the better for that experience.

JOYEUX MACHIN's opening effort over fences at Wexford a month ago was full of promise and he's fancied to build on that and open his account. Sir Argus is sure to be well prepared for this chase debut and is a big threat, along with Mars Harper if he's allowed to take his chance.

The selection is JOYEUX MACHIN(nap) who was unlucky on his chase debut at Wexford and can go better here if there is not too much rain

LTO Selection:

14:25 Goodwood Group 2 (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Expensive breeze-up purchase VANDEEK overcame a sluggish start to justify favouritism on his Nottingham introduction, and the third ran well here earlier in the week. His proven ability on rain-affected ground gets him the nod ahead of Sketch, who couldn't have been more impressive on his Newbury debut. Toca Madera did well to make the frame in the July Stakes, while Asadna has yet to live up to his Ripon demolition job but can't be written off just yet.

With the 2 market leaders dropping out, VANDEEK could be the answer. He has a bit of ground to make up on form, but is open to considerable improvement following a very promising debut success at Nottingham. Sketch was also impressive on his Newbury debut, Watch My Tracker still has potential after getting off the mark at the third attempt last month.

Several withdrawals have weakened the field. The once-raced colts VANDEEK (narrowly preferred) and Sketch bring lots of potential.

TIGER ORCHID could hardly have been any more impressive when sauntering round Worcester last week, which made it two from three over fences, and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to stop him going in again. Receiving weight from all of his rivals, Mole Court appears the biggest danger, having won his last two races in emphatic style and merits plenty of respect. Of the remainder, Post No Bills should appreciate this sounder surface following his Cartmel effort last month.

TIGER ORCHID and Mole Court have both made hay at Worcester switched to fences in recent weeks and are expected to dominate this, with marginal preference for the Dr Richard Newland inmate.

Last week's easy Worcester win makes TIGER ORCHID the one to beat.

14:40 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Trabajo Detecho has a good record over this trip with three wins, two at Newcastle and one at Hamilton last time, but he was all out that day to score narrowly, so a 3lb rise will make life tougher. Impeller is due to go up 3lb in future after his recent second, which brings him into the equation, but MOMAER is preferred. An easy winer at Leicester last month, she has been put up 9lb for that but with only the five career starts to her name, there may be improvement to come.

Having her first try at 6f, MOMAER resumed her progress when making all in dominant fashion at Leicester last month, so she looks capable of following up with more still to offer as a sprinter. Thornaby Pearl also arrives on the back of an easy win on his latest outing and is feared most, ahead of Imperial Dream.

The pick is IMPELLER, who is 3lb ahead of the handicapper after last week's clear second at Doncaster. Momaer is feared most.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Galway Maiden Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HERCULE DU SEUIL has convincingly beaten several of these rivals already and is hard to oppose. The Saddler Maker gelding was far too good for Ballyadam at Ballinrobe in May, with Lieutenant Highway further back in fourth, and his recent victory over Solness at Killarney was equally emphatic. He likes to get on with things and can again make all. Ballyadam showed the benefit of his first taste of chasing when winning at Wexford and is 4lb better off with the selection compared to their clash at Ballinrobe, but will find it hard to turn around the form. Killarney runner-up Solness has a 5lb pull at the weights with the selection and is fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time so may be able to get a bit closer without turning the tables. Fifth in last year's Galway Hurdle, Heia was an easy winner on chase debut at Tramore and can give a good account.

Willie Mullins has a very strong hand, particularly with HERCULE DU SEUIL and Heia. The latter receives a sex allowance and is clearly a promising mare but there's an air of star quality about the former, who will be tough to contain if he gets into his rhythm.

Whatever happens with the weather, it is very hard to see HERCULE DE SUEIL not completing the hat-trick

Head 2nd in French Group 1 (1m, heavy) in October; satisfactory 11.7f Listed win on return.
LTO Selection:

15:00 Goodwood Group 3 (Class 1) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

This is a higher calibre of race than the Listed contest won by CHESSPIECE at Hamilton, but his previous third in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot was a solid statement of intent and he is a highly appealing candidate. The son of Nathaniel has already proven that stamina is his forte and, with ground conditions likely to suit, a big run is expected. Espionage commands respect as Aidan O'Brien's sole representative, while Artistic Star has posted high-class form in defeat and is dangerous to underestimate.

Deep ground won't be an issue for ESPIONAGE after going close in a French Group 1 in the mud on his final 2-y-o start. He showed he's trained on with a listed success on his Roscommon reappearance and can provide Aidan O'Brien with a third win in this since 2015. Chesspiece, Desert Hero and Canberra Legend can give the selection most to do in that order.

None are comfortably dismissed but slight preference is for CANBERRA LEGEND and Espionage is feared most ahead of Chesspiece.

15:08 Stratford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Not much form on offer here with plenty of unexposed sorts so the market may prove informative. However, there was clearly plenty expected of CITY OF RUINS when finishing third, having been sent off favourite, at Hexham on debut in June and he may be worth another chance. Gifted Angel is another who shaped well enough on his hurdling debut when filling the same position as the selection over C&D last month. Any market confidence behind Ramz, who makes his debut for Olly Murphy, would be significant.

GIFTED ANGEL translated his fair Flat ability to hurdles at the first time of asking when third over C&D 18 days ago and a repeat of that form might be good enough here. Sassissante and Ramz are interesting recruits from the Flat, while City of Ruins hails from a good stable and may step up on his opening Hexham third.

The hurdling experience of GIFTED ANGEL may enable him to win this.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Nottingham Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rogue Soldier has been running well without winning and wasn't beaten that far when third at Beverley last month. KNIGHTS AFFAIR almost pulled off a 20/1 shock at Ripon when keeping on into second after a slow start and, if he learns from that, he may go one better here. Three Yorkshiremen is also interesting as he's dropping back in trip after weakening over a mile and a quarter at Redcar and York.

Richard Fahey's THREE YORKSHIREMEN holds the clear edge on form and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to open his account back in novice grade. Knights Affair is much less exposed and could emerge as the chief threat if building on his debut Ripon second, although James Fanshawe's debutante Sheehan could have a say too if the market speaks in her favour.

Nine-race maiden THREE YORKSHIREMAN is not making any progress but has been found a good opportunity, and will be favoured by any rain.

LTO Selection:

15:20 Galway Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A C&D winner on heavy ground in October, SAN AER was a fine fourth in the Irish Lincolnshire first time out this season. Not at his best in three starts since, he could well bounce back with conditions to suit. Inchturk was returning from a break when fourth at Killarney and is likely to be sharper with that run under his belt. He has form on easy ground. Cheers Again was hit hard by the handicapper for a couple of easy wins on the all-weather, but was only narrowly denied on testing ground at Cork in April and is 1lb lower now. He is another who has been a bit below par of late, but is capable of a bold bid if restored to his best. Trained by Galway native David Loughnane, Metabolt has been in good form across the water this season. He has won on good to soft, but would probably prefer a sounder surface.

NO MORE PORTER ran a cracker when second in the Premier Handicap here on Tuesday and will stand a good chance of going one better if showing up in the same form. Stablemate Spanish Tenor was also in action here on Tuesday, finishing a respectable fourth and can go well again. British raider Metabolt has a progressive profile and is also shortlisted along with John McConnell's Higher Kingdom.

PONT AUDEMAR won on the Flat in France on soft ground and he is fit from hurdling, so is selected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Reigning champion Nashwa warmed up for the defence of her crown by bouncing back to form in the Falmouth, justifying the decision to supplement her and proving she has the speed for a mile. In BLUE ROSE CEN, though, she comes up against an exceptional French filly who backed up her cosy Poule d'Essai des Pouliches success when trouncing Never Ending Story to complete a Classic double in the Prix de Diane. Al Husn claimed the scalp of a probably below-par Nashwa at Newcastle but still warrants consideration, while Above The Curve will like the ground.

A much-anticipated clash between the last 2 French Oaks winners BLUE ROSE CEN and Nashwa. The former was having her first attempt at 1¼m when bolting up at Chantilly in June and can emulate Nashwa who followed up in this race last year. Nashwa looked better than ever when easily winning the Falmouth at Newmarket last month and is clear second pick ahead of Above The Curve.

The French 3yo star BLUE ROSE CEN may well be able to keep last year's winner Nashwa at bay.

Although he failed to justify favouritism at Newton Abbot 11 days ago, another chance can be given to the Grace Harris-trained JUSTSHORTOFABUBBLE to get is head in front for the first time. He was narrowly denied over a slightly shorter trip last time and the six-year-old appears the safest choice. Dindin was below par at Worcester last month but has been freshened up since, while Conceal, who was third over C&D last time, appeals most of the remainder.

CONCEAL made a promising return from a lay-off when third over C&D last month and can build on it here to resume winning ways in a handicap where a few arrive with question marks against them. Dindin wasn't at his best when fifth at Worcester but is a reliable type overall and could emerge as the chief threat ahead of in-form maiden Justshortofabubble.

After narrowly failing to land a gamble at Newton Abbot, JUSTSHORTOFABUBBLE can gain compensation.

15:50 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Only narrowly denied over C&D last month, CARIAD looks the one to side with off the same mark. She filled the runner-up spot on her third-last outing too, also over C&D, and George Scott's inmate is fancied to progress enough to get back in the winning groove. No Barrier lost little in defeat at Doncaster most recently and is feared most, while Bobby Dassler is another to bear in mind.

With cheekpieces applied, CARIAD has finished runner-up at this C&D on 2 of her last 3 starts, so George Scott's filly could be ready to return to winning ways this time around. She can see off the challenge of No Barrier, who ran well in first-time blinkers at Doncaster last month, while Bobby Dassler also merits consideration.

Three-time AW winner CARIAD shaped very much as though close to a breakthrough turf win when a close second over C&D last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Third in a valuable sales contest at the Curragh last term, British raider DANDY ALYS ran by far the best race of her three-year-old campaign when runner-up in a Listed contest at Carlisle in late June. That track would have a few similarities to Galway, including a stiff finish, and the daughter of Dandy Man handles soft ground well. After a couple of runs over 1m2f, Keep In Touch drops back markedly in trip, with a visor fitted for the first time. A maiden winner over C&D last year, Dermot Weld's contender was beaten less than a length in two subsequent juvenile starts in stakes company. Honey Sweet was runner-up in last year's renewal of the race at Carlisle in which the selection was second this time around. After a lengthy layoff, she was fourth at Naas last week on stable debut for Joseph O'Brien and a tongue-tie is applied for the first time.

Little between the principals on form but HONEY SWEET is fancied to take a big step forward on her second run for Joseph O'Brien and resumed winning ways. Ralph Beckett's Carlisle listed runner-up Dandy Alys is feared most, with Keep In Touch appealing as the pick of the remainder.

Dandy Alys is a big danger for an in-form UK yard but preference is for KEEP IN TOUCH, who is a C&D winner.

16:10 Goodwood Handicap (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

As is typically par for the course with these nurseries, many would appear to line up with solid claims. With that in mind, only a tentative vote can go to SARAKANA. Having belied odds of 40-1 to strike on her debut, the daughter of Harzand was pitched immediately into Group company. She came up well short in the Albany, but an opening mark of 79 could underestimate her. Balon D'or is interesting despite the burden of top weight, while others to note include Phone Tag, Lincoln Legacy and Gray's Inn, who is a whopping 17lb well-in compared to her revised rating.

The market will reveal plenty with lots starting out in handicaps, but GRAY'S INN wasn't beaten far when fourth in listed company at Sandown last week and, potentially very well treated back in a nursery, Jack Channon's filly is fancied to notch a third career success. Bits And Bobs flopped when sent off a short-priced favourite at Carlisle last month but can resume his progress reunited with Oisin Murphy, while Macanudo and Conde are another couple to consider.

Last week's Listed fourth GRAY'S INN (nap) runs before her new 17lb higher mark kicks in and she can take full advantage.

ALIOMAANA showed tenacity when she added a second C&D win to her portfolio 18 days ago and, given that was arguably her best effort for a while, she is hard to oppose off just 2lb higher. Lucky Draw has adapted well to hurdles and is high on the shortlist in this company. Pillar Of Steel lurks on a handy mark and also looks a big threat, alongside Karannelle, who teams up with the in-form Sean Bowen.

ADDOSH can take the odd liberty over obstacles but she figures on a very tempting mark, so is awarded the tentative vote. Aliomaana can boast a good C&D record so she's a threat, along with Pillar of Steel.

Last month's C&D winner ALIOMAANA makes most appeal.

16:25 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Even though he disappointed over an extended mile on the all-weather in May, a longer distance looks worth exploring with Born Ruler on his turf debut. However, he does have to shoulder joint top-weight, so preference is for DAMASCUS STEEL. The gelded son of Mastercraftsman only lost out by a short head at Pontefract last month when denied a clear run approaching the final furlong. Night Life also warrants a second look.

BORN RULER may have disappointed on his handicap debut in May, but he's bred to be suited by this longer trip and is worth another chance to progress having been gelded since last seen. He can get the better of Lost In Time, who remains lightly raced at this distance, with Damascus Steel completing the shortlist.

The pick is FOUGERE (nap), who kept on well for second behind a well-handicapped stablemate over C&D in May and met traffic last time.

16:30 Galway Maiden Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WHAT PATH won his bumper around here and can land a hat-trick now over timber. Willie Mullins' six-year-old has gained both of his hurdle wins over three miles but shouldn't be too inconvenienced by dropping back in trip, with most of these races at Galway run at a good gallop. The standard is set by his stablemate Horantzau D'airy, who has a rating of 130. The French-bred easily justified his short price in maiden company at Punchestown in late May and had run well in competitive handicaps on his previous two outings. Encanto Bruno was impressive on his hurdling debut at Bellewstown, when a short price, and it will be interesting to see how he measures up now in this company.

Lots of potential on show, not least from John McConnell's ENCANTO BRUNO who created a highly favourable impression when going in on his hurdling debut at Bellewstown. This smart bumper winner can take a big step forward here and fend off the Willie Mullins-trained duo What Path and Horantzau d'Airy who both bring better form to the table and are hugely respected. Henry de Bromhead's The Short Go completes the shortlist in a fascinating contest.

As the choice of Paul Townend ahead of smart stablemates Pink In The Park and Horantzau D'Airy, WHAT PATH is hard to oppose

LTO Selection:

16:45 Goodwood Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

NOVUS appears right at home at Goodwood, winning here in May and then going very close on the first day of this meeting. She is two from two on soft ground and is preferred to Roarin' Success, who is on a hat-trick after ending her juvenile campaign with a Wolverhampton triumph and picking up where she left off at Ascot. The returning Sea Eagle must enter calculations on his first run in a handicap, while others to note include Cancan In The Rain, Merry Minister and Alpha Crucis.

A big-field handicap but the eye has to be drawn to ISLE OF JURA, who still looks at least one step ahead of the assessor following facile wins at Newbury at Newmarket last month. With the ground forecast to deteriorate, handling the conditions will be key, which brings Roarin' Success into the argument. Sea Eagle is the potential big improver in the race.

The withdrawal of Isle Of Jura may leave the door open for LUNATICK to get off the mark. Man Of Eden is second choice.

16:50 Stratford Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ARCADE ATTRACTION responded kindly for Brian Hughes when the partnership registered a C&D success last month and more of the same is very possible, despite a 7lb higher mark. The selection has won off 5lb higher over fences in the past, so still has room to move from the revised rating. Annie Nail and Atlantic Storm are suggested as the pick of the opposition.

ARCADE ATTRACTION bounced back in no uncertain terms when making a successful start for this yard at the expense of Atlantic Storm over C&D recently and, with plenty of handicapping scope on old form, he's taken to follow up at the possible expense of his old rival. Annie Nail also merits plenty of respect.

Although recent efforts are uninspiring, STRIKING OUT has major claims on his efforts at the start of the year.

The gelded son of Zoffany has been in fine fettle recently and that could give him an edge over some out-of-form rivals. We Still Believe appeals as one of the more likely challengers, while dual course winner Oscar Doodle heads the remainder.

A low-key start to proceedings in which ALHABOR is selected to make just his second outing on the all-weather a winning one having again had little luck in running at Nottingham last month. Cheekpieces replace the usual blinkers, and he can get the better of International Law, who continues to slide in the weights. Last year's winner Hot Team and Ana Emaraaty round off the shortlist.

The 5yo WE STILL BELIEVE pulled up over hurdles last time but was running well on the Flat prior to that. He looks the safest option.

17:00 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MANXMAN didn't have the most straightforward of passages through the race when attempting to supplement a Windsor success at Wolverhampton, but he still managed to take third spot. He did his best work at the finish so the rise from 1m6f is in his favour, as is the application of a visor. Last-time-out winners Team Endeavour and Zillion complete the shortlist.

If first-time headgear sharpens up MANXMAN then he might take a bit of stopping against largely much more exposed opposition. Team Endeavour was tackling 2m for the first time when successful at Wetherby last time and is second choice ahead of fellow last-time-out scorer Dereham. Handicap-newcomer A Tickatickatiming is also on the shortlist.

The veteran ZILLION won more comfortably than the narrow margin might suggest at Chepstow last month and can handle a 3lb rise.

LTO Selection:

17:05 Galway Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Perugino Diamond was the last four-year-old to win this, back in 2000, but ZARAK THE BRAVE looks to have strong claims. Willie Mullins' charge kept top company in juvenile hurdles last season, chasing home the brilliant Lossiemouth on a couple of occasions and also finishing third in Grade 1 company in France. A mark of 145 looks lenient for the Zarak gelding, who could be a top-level hurdler in the making. Emmet Mullins has already made a mark this week and he saddles two. Filey Bay, third in the County Hurdle back in March, warmed up for this with a spin on the Flat at Roscommon and could be a big player. His stablemate Merlin Giant is another who has to be on the shortlist. He won his maiden hurdle over C&D last year and comes into this in form having won on the level at Down Royal in late June. Dual winner Tudor City is on the same mark as when successful 12 months ago and just scrapes into the field. He is sure to run his race again.

ZARAK THE BRAVE has had no exposure to the hustle and bustle of a big-field handicap like this but he was talented enough to finish runner-up in Grade 1 juvenile company in the spring and his mark could be lenient. We know a bit more about Filey Bay bit his limit may not have been reached, with Brazil another to take very seriously.

A sporting selection goes the way of MIGHTY TOM, much improved this year as he showed at Killarney last time, with a C&D win too

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Get Jiggy With It made a short-priced favourite with previous experience pull out all the stops at Newmarket and a maiden looks a formality. However, the form of ORNELLAIA's debut third there a couple of days earlier was given a massive boost when the winner ran away with the Princess Margaret at Ascot last weekend, and Dominic Ffrench Davis' filly gets the nod. Classical Song was a 420,000-euro breeze-up purchase and has Ryan Moore on top, while Imperial Express is a half-sister to Ebro River so is another newcomer to note.

ORNELLAIA is well entered up and she duly produced a promising first effort when third at Newmarket. That form has taken a significant boost since so she gets the vote over Get Jiggy With It, who emerged best of the newcomers when second at Newmarket. Shadan Joy is worth another chance to build on her debut, while Classical Song makes the most appeal of the newcomers given how much she fetched at the Breeze-Ups.

The top form players are two fillies who showed promise at Newmarket's July festival, namely ORNELLAIA and Get Jiggy With It.

Scarpia edged a narrow verdict over 2m7f at Worcester last time out and might be suited by this sterner test of stamina. However, GENTLEMAN VALLEY was more convincing in winning his last three starts and Ben Pauling's gelding is capable of taking another step forward. Shantou Express needs to reverse the Worcester form with Scarpia, but stamina is assured following his C&D victory on his penultimate start and he is likely to be competitive once again.

GENTLEMAN VALLEY has a career-high mark to overcome but still can't be opposed on the back of an emphatic Worcester success as he bids to make it four wins in a row. The consistent Mr Yeats seems sure to have a say in his attempt to bag a first win of 2023, with game Worcester scorer Scarpia also in the picture in a competitive handicap.

This competitive contest can go to GENTLEMAN VALLEY (nap), who continues to improve.

LTO Selection:

17:32 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Tafsir looks set to mount another stern challenge following consecutive victories at Musselburgh and Hamilton, but preference is for ELOPED. The Golden Horn filly took a marked step forward when finishing second at Chelmsford and she looks set to progress further now pitched into handicaps. Can Can Girl ought to be involved after occupying the runner-up berth at Hamilton, while Bookmark is just one more to consider.

TAFSIR has taken her form up a notch since being stepped up in trip so Jim Goldie's 4-y-o is fancied to bring up the hat-trick having scored a shade cosily at Hamilton just less than 2 weeks ago. Eloped showed much improved form back on all-weather when runner-up in June, so she could be the one to give the selection most to think about on handicap debut, ahead of Turner Girl and Can Can Girl.

With further progress entirely possible, ELOPED looks interesting on her handicap debut. Can Can Girl is second choice.

LTO Selection:

17:40 Galway Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Willie Mullins has a couple of interesting ones in this and AGHABOY may be worth a shot on his return to the Flat. The German-bred won twice over hurdles last season after joining Closutton before finding things a bit tougher up in grade behind illustrious stablemate Lossiemouth. He has been eased 6lb since last running on the Flat and could be on a lenient mark. Stoke The Fire ran a big race to finish second on his return from a long absence at Down Royal in late June and with that run under his belt, he is entitled to play a big part now. All In Peder commands respect given his connections and is fitted with first-time blinkers. He has already won twice this season.

STOKE THE FIRE was only denied by a well treated rival (who followed up) at Down Royal last time and, with the scope for better still, he's a confident choice to go one better. Granville Street and Out On Friday are two of the numerous dangers.

Just denied on his comeback at Down Royal, STOKE THE FIRE should be able to go one better off a 4lb higher mark.

LTO Selection:

17:48 Epsom Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Warhol arrives in good form after his nose second at Newbury, but he has been upped 4lb for that and may find things happen too quickly for him dropping back in trip. He could run on into a place, but DAPHNE MAY is preferred. She has winning course form over further and has won over this trip elsewhere on a softer surface, while Anna Gibson claims a useflul 7lb from the saddle. Liseo is also noted.

None of these can be ruled out but WARHOL comes here on the back of an excellent Newbury second (form been franked) so edges the vote from in-form pair Wonder Starelzaam and Daphne May who can chase home George Baker's progressive 4-y-o in that order.

In-form mare DAPHNE MAY gets the vote. Warhol, assuming he copes with the return to 1m2f, is feared most.

LTO Selection:

17:55 Goodwood Handicap (Class 3) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This is fiercely competitive and hardly any can confidently be ruled out. The likes of Rogue Spirit, Desert Games and The Thames Boatman are all open to improvement now they are tried with headgear applied and can do their bit to ensure this is a fast and furious affair - a scenario which will ideally suit DEMOCRACY DILEMMA, a pacey individual who seems to be thriving on being kept busy. Hollie Doyle keeps the partnership intact after guiding him to victory twice already this season and further success is distinctly possible.

DEMOCRACY DILEMMA proved better than ever when recording his third success of the year at Chelmsford last time, winning unchallenged having typically made the running, so he is taken to score again with both of his turf wins coming on ground softer than good. Desperate Hero also arrives in good form and is respected, while the consistent Jm Jungle is another to consider.

This looks likely to be run at a good clip and JM JUNGLE, in such good form of late, can continue on the upgrade.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MY ROXANNE has shown plenty on an artificial surface, including when successful over C&D from 3lb lower in June. She gets the nod back here following a good third at Ayr, although Saisons D'Or, who is well treated judged on past exploits, should give her plenty to think about. Star Map steps up in trip for her handicap bow and market support should be noted.

Lots with chances but EL JAD is taken to build on his promising Wolverhampton fourth and gain his breakthrough success at the chief expense of 3-time C&D winner Saisons d'Or. My Roxanne is another with winning form here who must enter calculations along with Go Sing and Billy McGarry.

A few with chances but GO SING has made a decent start for his new yard and drops into Class 6 company this time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

I WILL BE BAIE can give Willie Mullins another bumper winner. The French-bred cost 150,000 pounds after winning his point-to-point and was first past the post only to be demoted on his 'track' debut in a Punchestown bumper in June. He showed signs of greenness that day when hanging left in the closing stages and should improve from the experience. Patrick Mullins reported that he was very highly thought of after that 'victory'. The market may prove the best guide to the chances of Sea Music, who makes his first start for Emmet Mullins. The Sea Moon gelding failed to complete on his first couple of point-to-point runs before finishing second at Fairyhouse in April. The Gordon Elliott-trained Docteur Elysees is a newcomer to note. She is out of a mare who won three times over hurdles.

I WILL BE BAIE won his only start in points and tanked round when first past the post at Punchestown on debut 54 days ago. He was subsequently demoted having hung left and bumped his rival in the closing stages, but there's unlikely to be any mistake this time. Sea Music has shown ability between the flags and could pose a threat if the market speaks in his favour, while Docteur Elysees is a player based on pedigree/connections.

This looks likely to go to I WILL BE BAIE, justifiably disqualified at Punchestown, but hard to beat with that experience behind him

18:20 Epsom Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Validated looks interesting as a son of Iffraaj related to numerous winners and he could go well first time out, a comment that also applies to New Bay colt High Point, who looks the part on paper, but it is still hard to oppose SAHARA KITTEN. James Tate's colt does have to give 7lb or more to all his rivals, but arrives as a C&D winner after scoring by a couple of lengths last month and, with that experience to call upon, he might well follow up.

A repeat of the form REDNBLUE SOVEREIGN has shown on his last 2 outings may be enough for him to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. Mnawekh, I'm Puzzled and Mullazem look capable of better and may give Tom Dascombe's charge most to do in that order.

There's not a great deal between those who have run, with REDNBLUE SOVEREIGN narrowly making most appeal. Validated needs a check.

LTO Selection:

18:40 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

First-time cheekpieces may benefit GREYCIOUS ANNA following her third at Catterick and there should be plenty more to come from this lightly-raced three-year-old. The usually reliable Platinum Girl, who had excuses when not running up to scratch in that Catterick contest, could easily bounce back, while it is also worth keeping an eye on Martini Nights now she's going handicapping for the first time.

CARLTON AND CO shaped as if back in form when finishing sixth at Thirsk last month and, yet to run a bad race on the all-weather, Mick & David Easterby's 4-y-o gets the tentative nod to belatedly open her account. Platinum Girl produced a rare below-par effort last time, but she's fancied to bounce back quickly, with handicap-debutantes Martini Nights and Thawg another couple worth keeping an eye on.

On the back of a very solid C&D effort, ORIGINAL THINKER (nap) could well go one better. Abbey's Dream is second choice.

18:55 Epsom Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sweet Fantasy may prove popular here after winning a similar race at Leicester last month, but she has to carry a 5lb penalty here and has only been put up 4lb by the handicapper. She can still go well, but if a first-time visor brings any improvement from NAASMA, Pat Phelan's filly could win for the second time. She was hampered before finishing second here last month but may go one better now, while Atalanta Breeze is another to consider with both trip and ground expected to suit.

SWEET FANTASY was seen to good effect from the front at Leicester last week but she could do no more than win decisively and this low-mileage 4-y-o can follow up under a penalty. Haarar and Naasma head the opposition.

Last week's winner SWEET FANTASY looks the safest bet if it's soft ground. Naasma is a player judged on recent fast-ground form.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BEECHWOOD STAR sets the standard following his eye-catching debut performance at Thirsk and his runner-up effort at Ayr last month. Richard Fahey's colt is likely to make the most of his experience and shed the maiden tag at the third time of asking. I'm Spartacus improved from his first start when finishing second at Beverley and the extra furlong is unlikely to be an inconvenience. Newcomers Emu War and Birchwood Drive appeal most of the remainder.

BEECHWOOD STAR left his debut run behind when just failing at Ayr and this looks an excellent opportunity. I'm Spartacus also stepped up on his debut when second at Beverley and looks the obvious threat, with Emu War making most appeal of the newcomers.

I'm Spartacus is open to improvement now up in trip but preference is for BEECHWOOD STAR following his near-miss at Ayr.

LTO Selection:

19:30 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KIMNKATE is arguably unlucky not to have won her last four races on the bounce having been narrowly denied at Windsor in early July. The blinkers have clearly done the trick with her and she is taken to continue her progression. Chasseral is taking a welcome drop in class and can't be discounted along with last months C&D winner Redredrobin, who has been given a 4lb rise for that victory but can remain competitive.

If the refitting of a hood helps CHASSERAL to settle better she looks capable of winning off this mark. The thriving Kimnkate is the obvious threat.

Redredrobin and KIMNKATE have been in great form but neither has proved themselves on ground softer than good, so there's a risk.

19:45 Newcastle Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The penny appeared to drop late for AL WAASL when running on strongly to finish third at Newbury and, with the likelihood of a fair amount of improvement to come, he is expected to prove too strong for the opposition. Project Geofin is capable of bouncing back from his latest effort at Doncaster and he is respected, along with newcomer Last Addition, who is a half-sister to a multiple Listed-placed filly.

AL WAASL shaped very well come the finish when third at Newbury and should take the beating. Kings Merchant and Last Addition are a couple of newcomers to note.

Having been a promising third on his debut at Newbury three weeks ago, AL WAASL gets the nod. Project Geofin is a danger.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bear On The Loose is worth forgiving his latest effort at Newcastle when stopping quickly. However, DESFONDADO was a comprehensive winner over C&D three weeks ago and a 7lb rise may not be enough to see him follow up for local trainer Simon Dow. Almarin has gone close on a couple of occasions already this term and it would be no surprise should he be in the mix at the business end of the race.

SERIOUS LOOK got back on track after a breathing operation when fifth at Yarmouth last time and he has the potential to do better with cheekpieces applied back up in trip. Desfondado is a danger following his clear-cut C&D win recently and Cobalt Blue can't be ruled out.

Bear On The Loose is respected but DESFONDADO is capable of progressing from an impressive win here three weeks ago.

LTO Selection:

20:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having last won off a 10lb higher mark, Glorious Rio has a live chance on these terms if he is still capable of matching anywhere near his peak performances, while the unexposed Noble Captain appeals strongly for a place at least on only his fourth start in a handicap. However, MUDDY LYNN is readily preferred for win-only purposes, given she is a previous C&D winner who still has bags of scope to improve over this trip.

MOSTALLIM bounced back to score in emphatic fashion at Chelmsford last time and, escaping the penalty, he should be able to comfortably follow up if in the same form. Nickleby goes well fresh and looks of interest after 4 months off, while Muddy Lynn should give her running again.

Mostallim is well ahead of the handicapper but both Noble Captain and MUDDY LYNN appeal in opposition.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Epsom Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TWILIGHT DANCER opened her account with a cosy victory over C&D a fortnight ago and the manner of her success suggested there may be more to come from this daughter of Twilight Son. The nature of this track could play to the strengths of Lahina Bay, who failed to land her hat-trick when last seen but is entitled to bounce back. Optiva Star did well to finish third, having been slowly away at Lingfield last week, and is worth noting.

OPTIVA STAR is on a handy mark and would have gone close with a clear run at Lingfield last time, so he's worth taking a chance on for all that Twilight Dancer was a comfortable winner over C&D last time. Lahina Bay had been in good form prior to an excusable run 16 days ago, so she's also worth respect.

Lahina Bay should stay 7f round here but TWILIGHT DANCER (nap) can go on from a likeable effort when winning over C&D last month.

LTO Selection:

20:45 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Mutanaaseq is versatile trip-wise and and is shorlist material, despite picking up 4lb extra for winning over 7f at Catterick. However, he is also due to appear at Redcar on Wednesday so ONE FOR THE LADIES, who arrives on the back of a successful performance at Wolverhampton, shades preference given she is a previous C&D winner who has fared a bit better with the draw. Struck Gold was only a neck behind the selection at Dunstall Park so also looks capable of going well.

WEE FAT MAC shaped better than the result at Ayr last time and has a solid record on tapeta, so he's worth chancing for a stable that has been amongst the winners recently. Mutanaaseq is an obvious danger if taking his chance (entered at Redcar on Wednesday) and Carribean Sunset is likely to give another good account if the race doesn't come too soon.

The recent Wolverhampton handicap in which ONE FOR THE LADIES beat Struck Gold may prove the key formline.
