Invention is another well-bred newcomer who merits plenty of respect on his racecourse bow, while Mont St Michel and Tour Of Duty complete the shortlist.

SOLAR SAVING shaped well when third at Navan on debut and can put that experience to good use up against some interesting newcomers, including Aidan O'Brien's trio Illinois, Mont St Michel and Tour of Duty.

WHISPERING WORDS returned with a breakthrough victory at Newmarket before nearly making it two on the bounce under a penalty at Kempton. The step up in trip appears likely to bring about improvement from Charlie Appleby's filly on her handicap debut. Red Danielle took advantage of an excellent opportunity to get off the mark at Yarmouth and she has to be high on the shortlist. Others to note include Totnes and Morning Poem.

This looks a hot handicap with TOTNES just about the most compelling candidate on the back of a runner-up effort despite not being seen to best effect at Newbury a fortnight ago. This trip could see Whispering Words elevate her form now handicapping for leading connections, with Queen Regent another to consider.

The step up in trip promises to suit Godolphin's unexposed handicap newcomer WHISPERING WORDS and she gets the nod under Ryan Moore.

GREER made a very promising start to his career when scoring in good style over 7f at Chester on his racecourse debut and he can progress further. John Quinn's charge was strong at the finish on that occasion and any level of improvement can be expected. Midnite Storm is feared most after a consistent start to his career, while connections of Respectful will hoping he can follow up his success over 7f at Ayr.

GREER looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Chester last month, doing well in the circumstances having met some trouble over 2f out, and he can follow up with progress to come. Midnite Storm has improved with each of his 3 starts so far and can make his presence felt, while Respectful also merits consideration.

Chester winner GREER is open to progress and may be capable of defying a small penalty. Midnite Storm is second choice.

Brilliant is feared most for the powerful Aidan O'Brien yard, while French recruit Dare To Dream will enjoy the ground on her first outing on these shores.

KITTY ROSE took the rise in class in her stride as she made it 2-2 in a Leopardstown listed event (7.3f) 4 weeks ago and with the prospect of more to come, she can maintain her 100% record now tackling Group 3 company. Brilliant may emerge as the chief threat, with Sea The Boss and Unreasonable others fancied to be in the mix.

EMARAATY ANA brings the best form to the table and should be able to take advantage dropping in grade and gain a first win of the season. Korker got badly outpaced at Beverley last time before coming home very strongly and this track should really play to his strengths, so he rates the main danger. Rage Of Bamby has been running well and looks to have the best chance of the rest.

EMARAATY ANA doesn't look the force of old, but he's still capable of smart form and this is very much his time of year as his record suggests, so he's fancied to get back on the scoresheet for the first time in a while. Rage of Bamby is a little less exposed than the rest, so she's second choice ahead of Nymphadora.

Zudu Spirit is a fascinating recruit to the Boughey yard but KORKER may be able to record the biggest win of his frustrating career.

It is going to be very interesting to see MY MATE MOZZIE going over fences this season. Gavin Cromwell's charge has compiled a very solid sequence of results over flights and on the Flat. This former Grade 3 winner over hurdles finished third in this year's Galway Hurdle and was fifth in the competitive Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh last month. There should be plenty to come from him over the bigger obstacles. Hgranca De Thaix is a fair horse over hurdles as shown when winning by 17 lengths at Galway a year ago. He hasn't been out since finishing third in a Grade B handicap hurdle at Punchestown on New Year's Eve, but is sure to be well schooled for fences coming from Barry Connell's stable. Cromwell actually saddles four horses and his Invictus Machin should have a future over fences. Tullypole Annie could be a useful recruit for Lorna Fowler who sends her over fences for the first time.

The fact that MY MATE MOZZIE was a winner of his sole start between the flags augurs well with regard to this switch to fences and, if he does make a good shape over the obstacles, he will prove very hard to beat. The 7-y-o was a fine third in the Galway Hurdle during the summer and recently performed with credit on the Flat at The Curragh where he was fifth in the valuable Irish Cesarewitch. Annexation is taken to follow the selection home, with Kiki Badger best of the rest.

ZOULU CHIEF has bounced back to form on his last couple of starts, with victories in the Racing League at Windsor and York's Ebor Festival, having already caused a major shock when scoring at 150/1 at Newbury on his second start. He sets the standard, especially on his Knavesmire success, and may prove a tough nut to crack. Woodhay Wonder has already won a valuable auction contest on the July Course and appears the most likely to serve it up to the selection. Midnite Runner, Rich Glory and newcomer Elderflower complete the shortlist.

ZOULU CHIEF holds the clear edge on the form of his striking York nursery win so looks very much the way to go in this valuable event. Michael Dods's improving Midnite Runner could emerge as the chief threat if, as expected, going on again from his Thirsk novice success. Woodhay Wonder is another with the form to have a say on the back of his win on the July course here, with Invincible Aura completing the shortlist.

The clear pick is ZOULU CHIEF who won two nurseries in August in fairly breathtaking fashion. Woodhay Wonder is the chief threat.

CONTRAST has racked up consecutive second-placed finishes of late and he appears primed to offer another bold bid. Michael and David Easterby's runner was running on strongly last time when only denied by a neck over 1m2f at Beverley and, despite being raised 1lb for that effort, he can go one better. Highwaygrey hasn't run off a mark this low since 2020 and he should be taken very seriously, while Lunar Landscape is another to consider.

A competitive-looking handicap, with preference for HIGHWAYGREY who looked unlucky not to finish closer having repeatedly met trouble at this C&D last time. He is taken to see off the challenge of Contrast, who produced his best effort of the season when runner-up at Beverley on his latest outing, with Al Hargah another who enters calculations.

Al Hargah can go well back on a sound surface but HIGHWAYGREY could find this race setting up favourably for him.

SAN PEDRO was a C&D winner under similar conditions when last seen in May. Freddie Gordon negates the 3lb rise incurred for that success and if returning in a similar vein of form, he might be hard to beat. Global Famenglory has yet to taste success from nine starts over hurdles, but she boasts a consistent profile and is unlikely to be far away. Hilltown remains capable of better for all that he does have a bit to prove on quick ground.

SAN PEDRO was a winner when last seen in the spring and having since transferred to an excellent stable it would come as no surprise were he to pick up where he left off. Global Famenglory is a threat if her stamina holds out, with Imperial B G another to consider back from a break.

With the ground likely to be in his favour, ASTROMAN could return to his best.

There is a lot to like about the chance held by Whatcouldhavebeen as she reverts to the level for the first time since winning at Galway off 8lb lower last October. Her strong hurdles form only boosts her profile. However, PACHMENA has been placed over C&D twice before now and, given she has been given a live chance by the handicapper, this could be her day to shine. Let Her Loose, Narlita and Plains Indian are also considered.

Plenty arrive with claims, including BEAUTIFUL CHAOS who was seen off only by another in-form sort at Tramore 24 days ago (the pair nicely clear), and with her very capable pilot taking off a handy 3 lb, she could be the answer. Vischio similarly arrives in good nick and is feared under Jody Townend, with Van Demon and Whatcouldhavebeen others fancied to feature in an interesting contest.

This looks a good opportunity for AL AASY to get back to winning ways. The son of Sea The Stars was a touch unlucky not to land a hat-trick of victories in the Paddy Power Stakes at Leopardstown last month and he can go one better on a track that suits. Israr's best efforts put him very close to the selection meaning Shadwell hold a very strong hand, while Al Qareem bounced right back to his best at Chester last time and won't go down without a fight.

AL AASY wasn't as well placed as the winner when second in the Paddy Power Stakes at Leopardstown so that has to go down as another sound effort. He's established as a notch above most of these and is expected to quickly regain the winning thread in receipt of 2 lb from Israr. Of the others, Postileo deserves a crack at a race like this such was the impression he created at Hamilton.

Al Aasy looks sure to go well but slight preference is for AL QAREEM who could build on his 1m4f Chester win.

SO DES FLOS looked a chaser in the making when delivering over flights at Limerick in March. He will enjoy this trip and ground and is a major contender in this competitive beginners' chase. A couple of subsequent maiden hurdle winners came out of that Limerick contest to strengthen the form. Flanking Maneuver is clearly well thought of as after he finished fourth in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Naas in January, he took third place in graded novice chases at Navan and Naas. He is likely to be on the premises here. Genois has plenty of chasing experience and is match fit from a runner-up berth in a Listowel beginners' chase last month.

FLANKING MANEUVER's jumping went to pieces in the second half of the race when a well-held third at Naas on his final start of last season. However, he previously shaped very well indeed on his chase debut following a lengthy absence in a Navan Grade 2 and will be very hard to beat if reproducing form akin to that here. So des Flos, successful over hurdles at Limerick in March, gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Genois.

CLOUDBREAKER has been running with plenty of credit in strong contests this season, including when fourth in both a Listed contest at Newbury won by Warm Heart and the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot. Her latest effort saw her prove no match for Novakai on the July Course, but a return to handicap company presents her with a nice opportunity to get back to winning ways. Decoration was in good form prior to unseating her rider at Goodwood and remains open to progression. Blue Missile appears to have needed time to come to herself and her latest effort at Windsor suggested she may be heading in the right direction.

QUEEN EMMA is a rapidly-improving sort who went close to completing the hat-trick at Doncaster last month and, with the timefigure supporting the performance, she makes plenty of appeal from only 3 lb higher, especially with Dettori up. Long Ago has some strong form and is well worth another chance now going handicapping having seemingly raced on the unfavoured far side in a York listed event last time, with Decoration another to take seriously.

The William Haggas-trained 3yo QUEEN EMMA has a progressive profile and is taken to come out on top under Frankie Dettori.

DRAGON LEADER has had a dazzling season to date and this looks a good opportunity to add to his impressive CV. Clive Cox's charge lost his unbeaten tag over the extended 6f at Doncaster last time but this looks an easier assignment and he can go one better. Flaccianello has scored on three occasions and is entitled to respect, but this would take a career-best display to claim this prize, while Action Point is rated 97 and also commands attention.

DRAGON LEADER may have lost his unbeaten record at Doncaster last time, but the return to a bare 6f and firmer ground can see him resume winning ways. He can land a second valuable event having won readily at York's Ebor meeting, with Flaccianello the main danger after her success at Ayr 15 days ago.

With Action Point penalised for a Listed win, this looks a fine opening for DRAGON LEADER to bag another big pot.

There would be few more deserving than GUY, who has placed in eight of his 14 starts over the larger obstacles. The gelded son of Getaway was able to record a confidence-boosting success over hurdles at Ludlow when last seen, and he is expected to build on that to make a successful return. Valentino Dancer contends on the form of his Newton Abbot victory last month but he was well beaten in a tougher race at Warwick on Thursday. Fairway Freddy is back on his last winning mark and should not be underestimated, while Defan could also have a say.

Given that he goes well fresh and with his yard in terrific form, GUY is the most appealing option. He's only managed to win one of his 14 starts over fences, but his overall record in this sphere is pretty solid and and he's 7 lb lower in the weights compared to when runner-up in a Market Rasen handicap chase on his reappearance last season. Master Dancer is worth a second look on his first chase start on these shores and is second choice ahead of Fairway Freddy.

Having won over hurdles after an absence, MASTER DANCER can do the same over fences.

Commanche Falls is in marvellous form at the moment and his victory over Juan Les Pins in the Garrowby at York gives him an obvious chance in this, as that made it three wins out of his last four starts. However, a chance can be taken on the improving sprinter DARK TROOPER, who is unbeaten in his last four outings and has recorded two C&D successes to his name within those efforts. The son of Dark Angel could continue his rapid rise to strike. Garrus is more than capable at this level and also has to be considered.

ANNAF looks the one to beat having defied top weight in the Portland at Doncaster 3 weeks ago and his third in the King's Stand Stakes at the Royal Meeting confirms he handles this track. Thriving 3-y-o Dark Trooper is feared most as he bids for a 5-timer, ahead of another in-form sort Commanche Falls.

Portland winner ANNAF has a good chance at the weights and is taken to follow up. Dark Trooper is second choice

SWEET WILL looks well handicapped over fences. He is rated some 14lb lower over fences than hurdles and the last time he raced in this sphere he travelled well to close three out in Navan where he unseated his rider. There are races in him off this mark of 110. Galon De Vauzelle is inching up the weights by virtue of five placed efforts in a row over fences, but Tiernan Power Roche's 7lb claim should keep him more than competitive. The pair lost a battle in Listowel by half a length, but they were two lengths clear of the third home who came out and won at Killarney. C'est Quelqu'un is certainly going the right way since landing in Ireland. He won over hurdles and fences in Britain and began his Irish career with a pair of runner-up spots in handicap hurdles before winning two handicap chases (including a dead-heat in Downpatrick). He's just the sort of recruit Gordon Elliott is capable of running a sequence up with.

C'EST QUELQU'UN showed a good attitude to prevail at Downpatrick last time and he's on the up, so he's worth a chance to complete the hat-trick at the possible expense of Galon de Vauzelle. Goodnightgodbless is another one to consider.

INSPIRAL was back to her brilliant best when claiming a second Prix Jacques le Marois victory at Deauville. That was a fourth Group 1 success for this daughter of Frankel, one of which came over C&D in the 2021 Fillies' Mile, and she still has plenty more to offer. French raider Mqse De Sevigne is already a dual winner at the highest level so has to be feared, while last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Meditate also enters calculations after a more encouraging fourth in the Matron. The supplemented Heredia is the pick of the rest.

MQSE DE SEVIGNE and Inspiral are very closely matched on Timeform ratings so the former looks the value call for a yard that won this in 2015 with Esoterique. Heredia did well to win the Atlanta Stakes at Sandown 5 weeks ago and is best of the others.

The French challenger Mqse De Sevigne is a danger but INSPIRAL is taken to post her fifth Group 1 victory.

York's Convivial Maiden has already produced four subsequent winners and ZAIN BLUE, a close second in that traditionally strong Knavesmire contest, has a golden opportunity to enhance the statistics. The Ralph Beckett-trained colt takes a big drop in class and gets the nod ahead of Convivial fourth Volterra after his surprise defeat at Ayr last month. This is deeper than the Southwell novice Gressington won on debut, so potential improver Stanley Street rates best of the rest.

VOLTERRA was just behind Zain Blue, who had the benefit of previous experience, when a promising fourth on debut in a valuable York maiden in August. Kevin Ryan's charge failed to build on that at Ayr next time but again shaped well nonetheless and is taken to make it third time lucky. Zain Blue should again be in the thick of things and rates the clear main danger ahead of Gressington, who has more on his plate than when making a winning debut at Southwell but he's clearly talented.

Unless there's money around for the newcomer Wait And Hope, this should concern VOLTERRA and Zain Blue.

BENTLEY'S RETURN showed a fair level of ability in bumpers last season and the son of Mahler would not have to be anything special to make an immediate impact over hurdles. He is preferred to Cape Vidal, who found only an improver too strong at Plumpton in April. Courtney Silver must saddle a penalty for her recent course victory and is capable of being in the mix.

DOC MCCOY showed plenty in a trio of bumpers last season and, with the step up in trip sure to suit, he's taken to make a successful hurdling debut for a yard that has started the autumn well. Cape Vidal got his career back on track sent hurdling when runner-up at Plumpton in April and is open to improvement, with Bentley's Return another interesting contender.

Several bring potential but the experience of CAPE VIDAL may prove decisive.

That was also the first time she had encountered soft ground and there is every chance the daughter of Dark Angel may find another chunk of improvement. Aussie Girl continues to be in fine form and enters the reckoning once again following her recent fourth at Ayr. Bells On Her Toes and My Eyes Adore You appeal most of the remainder.

PINAFORE confirmed herself useful when resuming winning ways at Nottingham and is well worth a shot at this level. Bells On Her Toes was collared only close home in a similar event at Tipperary last week so is another to consider along with impressive debut winner Special Wan.

Stuart Williams' charge beat the reopposing Popmaster (second) by a neck on that occasion and that rival has subsequently franked the form by going one better over 7f at Newbury. Off 4lb better terms, the son of Oasis Dream can confirm that form, while the hat-trick seeking Baradar also appears likely to offer another bold bid.

A typically competitive renewal of this valuable handicap and FRESH is taken to register a belated first success of the season. The 6-y-o is now 3 lb lower than for the second of his two C&D victories in 2022 and again shaped as though he's ready to strike when sixth at the Curragh last month. The David O'Meara-trained duo Orbaan and Pearle d'Or both merit respect, while the hat-trick seeking Baradar, recent listed winner Popmaster and consistent types Quinault and Maywake all have claims, too.

MEET MY LORELEY battled well to win a bumper over the minimum trip in Navan and should really relish an extended 2m4f on her hurdling debut. She is a former point-to-point winner and looks like she will be a staying mare on the track. The horse well behind her in fifth at Navan came out and landed a Galway bumper in impressive fashion during the week. Ballybough Aine is one to note on her racecourse debut. She won her point-to-point in March and has moved to Paul Nolan for her 'track' career. Jordan Gainford is a good booking for her. KING'S FOUNTAIN displayed plenty of promise when fourth on his introduction over 7f at Sandown and the son of Too Darn Hot could be hard to stop with the benefit of that experience. Sisyphean is an obvious threat following his narrow defeat at Ayr, while Wonder and Classic Encounter have shown enough to warrant an interest. Royal Majesty is out of a mare who won a Grade 1 on turf in the US and any market support for him on debut would have to be noted.

SISYPHEAN ran to a similar level as on debut when edged out late on by another promising sort at Ayr's Western Meeting 16 days ago, and with the likelihood of more to come, Kevin Ryan's charge gets the nod to go one place better. Classic Encounter looked badly in need of the experience on his debut at Kempton yet, gelded subsequently, he promises to leave that effort in his wake and is feared. King's Fountain and Hand of God complete the shortlist.

This could go to the Roger Varian-trained newcomer ROYAL MAJESTY, who is by Frankel and out of a Grade 1-winning dam.

RAMAZAN ran a blinder when a neck second in the Ayr Gold Cup a fortnight ago and a seventh furlong could prompt a return to winning ways for Richard Fahey's gelding. There are dangers aplenty, however, not least last year's Lincoln winner Johan, who returned from a break with a vengeance to win a heritage handicap over 1m at Glorious Goodwood. Vafortino also commands respect.

RAMAZAN has developed into a smart handicapper this year and looks ready for this step up in class judged on his near miss in the Ayr Gold Cup a fortnight ago. He is marginally preferred to Johan, who pulled a rabbit out of the hat when landing the ultra-competitive Golden Mile at Glorious Goodwood on his belated reappearance and dropping back to 7f is unlikely to be an issue. Awaal failed to fire in the Golden Mile but will be a threat if back to his best, while Vafortino also merits respect.

The 5yo VAFORTINO should get a nice tow into the race and a 70-day break heightens interest with his excellent record when fresh.

The six-year-old makes his return to action and he could make a winning chase debut. I Shut That D'or makes his first start over fences after recording a victory in one of his four starts over hurdles and may prove a different proposition in this sphere. Le Patron can beat Proper Twelve home for third.

Four chasing newcomers so not the easiest race to assess but Chris Gordon's RED WINDSOR showed fairly useful and consistent form over hurdles last term so is fancied to come out on top. I Shut That d'Or could emerge as the chief threat ahead of Le Patron in a contest where the market should also prove revealing.

Gary Moore's LE PATRON is on a good mark for his chasing debut and gets the vote in the hope he has been refreshed by a summer break.

Harry's Hill is 2-6 over C&D and must be taken seriously, while Petit Calvados brings decent French form to the table and Mymomentintime is expected to go well from the foot of the weights.

PETIT CALVADOS has been shaping up well of late and caught the eye when a strong-travelling third at Dundalk so gets the vote in this competitive handicap. Handicap-debutant Pop Star looks to have more to offer and is next on the list ahead of the handily-weighted C&D winner Mymomentintime.

A case can be made for a few of these but arguably the one to beat is the highly-progressive NIGIRI, who put in a career best when second in a Group 3 at Doncaster. The daughter of Lope De Vega may have more improvement left to come and she could be hard to beat. Breege is a big threat following her fourth against the boys in a Listed race at Sandown, while Queen Aminatu and Cell Sa Beela are a couple of others to note.

A few with chances but BREEGE holds the edge on form and can gain a deserved first victory of the season at the chief expense of Ralph Beckett's progressive Nigiri who rates a big threat. Queen Aminatu can also have a say along with Farhh To Shy in an intriguing listed event.

This looks a suitable opportunity for BREEGE to finally double her tally. Improving Nigiri is feared most.

DAME RAPIDE is useful on the Flat and caught the eye with a comfortable victory in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle last month. The dry forecast is in her favour as she wouldn't want the ground to be testing. She should have a future in this game and her ability could come to the fore in this contest. Clever Currency reverts to the smaller obstacles after scoring in a novice handicap chase at Sligo last month. He ran into a massively in-form horse when runner-up over hurdles at Down Royal at the start of September, so has solid claims. The Dasher Conway blotted his copybook by falling at the first fence in Listowel but, prior to that, had been in good nick over fences. He could have a say especially as he was runner-up in this race last year

DAME RAPIDE did the job well when landing the odds in a Ballinrobe maiden last month and she is appealing now switched to handicap company off what looks a feasible opening mark. The Dasher Conway got no further than the first fence at Listowel recently but he was in good form prior to that and is capable of a bold show back hurdling. Anyway also enters calculations and Sam Magee is another for the shortlist.

A winner at Limerick in June, he lines up for his new yard having not been seen to anything like best effect at Tramore 24 days ago and he's capable of playing a lead role from this sort of mark. Sexy Rexy, following his latest C&D third, Jenny Ren and Velvet Vulcan head up the dangers.

Newcomer MILITARY LEADER cost a pretty penny at the sales and he could be primed to strike for connections that have an excellent record with two-year-olds at this track. The booking of Ryan Moore is significant and the son of Dubawi may have too much for fellow debutant Francisco, who is a half-brother to Group 3 winner La Rioja. Gracious Leader is another to note for market support, while Leicester fourth Placo looks best of those with experience.

Charlie Appleby hasn't been as prolific with his juveniles this term but 1,500,000 gns yearling MILITARY LEADER ticks plenty of the right boxes so can come out on top with the booking of Ryan Moore catching the eye. Placo produced a promising effort when fourth at Leicester last month, so he may emerge as the main danger, with Point Sur and Gracious Leader another pair of newcomers needing close attention.

The form of PLACO's debut fourth at Leicester last month reads well and he can put that experience to good use.

Several of these are old rivals and while the likes of La Trinidad and Painters Palette both have strong claims based on their peak performances, a chance is taken that SHALADAR can gain reward for a string of consistent efforts. He has held his form well with headgear tried this season and, having been denied by only a short head over C&D on his penultimate start, another big run is expected. Last year's winner Belhaven is noted too.

An open-looking series final but marginal preference is for HORTZADAR, who took advantage of a much-reduced mark last month and can quickly regain the winning thread with Richard Kingscote on board for the first time. Provided he copes with the quick turnaround, he can get the better of Young Fire, who has enjoyed a fruitful campaign and has dropped back down to his last winning mark. Clear Angel, La Trinidad and Ron O are just a trio of others to consider.

The suggestion is HORTZADAR, who has turned a corner these last couple of weeks and is one of the better-handicapped contenders.

The eight-year-old looks sure to go close once again. The main danger is Aucunrisque, who failed to fire in the Swinton at Haydock when last seen in May, but this looks like a much more suitable assignment. Fifty Ball looks the best of the rest.

MR FREEDOM is a highly likeable type who enjoyed plenty of success last season and, with the prospect of a solid gallop, he's capable of making a successful return to this sphere. Fifty Ball and Thirtyfourstitches are likely dangers, although the latter could face competition for the lead.

Progressive over hurdles and on the Flat, MR FREEDOM (nap) makes most appeal.

Rampage is 7lb better off with his Bellewstown conqueror Mogwli and it would be no surprise were he to reverse that form. Others to note include Lady Arwen, Hokusai and Speckled Meadow.

This looks wide open and it could pay to side with in-form MOGWLI, who should prove well suited by the return to this 1m trip and can also boast a course win. Fellow course scorer Secret Magician can also have a say, with Arch Enemy and Indigo Five (who was first past the post when mistakenly running as stablemate Ano Manna at Killarney last Saturday) completing the shortlist.

An eye-catcher when runner-up on his debut for new connections at Newcastle in August, BADRI never got a chance to hit top gear when denied a clear run in the Portland. Compensation may await and he is narrowly preferred to Intrinsic Bond, who finished third in that Doncaster dash and won over track and trip in July. Fellow C&D winner Mountain Peak must enter calculations, along with last year's winner Dream Composer and Get It, who has done well since joining the George Baker stable.

MOUNTAIN PEAK enhanced his track record with a good second over C&D last time and, if things go his way, he's up to going one better. Bedford Flyer, who was first home of those to race down the centre in the same race, is a danger as well as Intrinsic Bond, although it's an open race in general.

BANADA BRIDGE has been knocking on the door and it may open today. This six-year-old mare has been placed in her last three outings and was beaten a length or less in all three. A couple of those races were in a higher grade and Conor Smithers has been booked to lessen her burden by 4lb. Sayitfirst beat Banada Bridge by half a length over C&D recently, but the latter now has a 12lb pull in the weights so she will be eyeing revenge. This is a marked drop in trip for Mourne Mist who was far from outclassed in fifth over much further in Galway.

BANADA BRIDGE was narrowly denied by Sayitfirst over C&D last time despite travelling best and she's fancied to reverse the form on better terms with that rival. Brownstone is another one to consider.

The lightly-raced six-year-old has enjoyed a summer break since failing in her bid for the four-timer over C&D back in April and she is back down to a nice mark. The ex-French Universally is settling into Irish life nicely and deserved his breakthrough success at Fairyhouse. He is up 8lb, which is 1lb less than the hike Run Forrest Run got for his comprehensive Cork victory. Transcendental and Sounds Of Spring are a couple more to consider.

RUN FORREST RUN has to overcome a 9 lb higher mark for his Cork win 11 days ago but that looks fully justified given the manner of that success so he may well be up to the task. Mark's Bear stopped the slide last time and a case can definitely be made for him from a handicapping perspective, with Half Nutz another to consider.

He was outgunned by a length and a quarter at the business end, but there should be significant improvement to come. Tomavian was only pipped by a head on a promising debut at Down Royal. She didn't really build upon that when fifth in Listowel, but could readily bounce back here. A La Carte was a market springer on debut at Leopardstown in March, but didn't meet expectations in eighth. A big run in this company wouldn't be a surprise. Can't Resist It and Royal Cave both have a shot at prize money.

ARCTIC GALE's second at Galway on debut is the best piece of form on offer and he's open to improvement, so he's a confident choice to open his account at the likely expense of Tomavian. The others all have something to find.

Wolverhampton-scorer Nelson Gay arrives on a handy-looking mark so rates a big threat, while fellow recent winners Soul Seeker and Leodis Dream also warrant plenty of respect in a very open sprint.

The daughter of Kingman, a C&D winner last month, is fancied to bounce back now down in class. Change Sings won with more in hand than the winning margin would suggest at Kempton last time and he merits respect from a 4lb raised mark. Zero Carbon can chase the pair home.

MINNETONKA looked a shade unlucky not to win at Newmarket last week having been left with too much to do, so she's taken to gain compensation. Change Sings, Sporting Hero and Batal Dubai are a trio of potential threats in an interesting event.

This can go to MINNETONKA who won over C&D last month and who looked unlucky not to record another success at Newmarket nine days ago.

Caramay was narrowly denied over course and distance 12 days ago and the unexposed daughter of Lethal Force looks set to play a leading role off 2lb higher today. However, a chance can be taken on CASA LUNA. Philip Kirby's charge has plummeted down the handicap in recent starts and she did well to be beaten just three-quarters of a length in third here last time, having raced wide throughout. Christian Howarth's 5lb claim could make all the difference and she gets the nod. Market support for Sao Timothy should be noted.

CARAMAY produced her best effort to date when runner-up over C&D 12 days ago and a reproduction of that form could be good enough to see her collect. Rumnotred and Casa Luna head the dangers.

Top of the list is 3yo CARAMAY, who finished well to go very close in a C&D handicap 12 days ago and is open to further progress.

He was successful over track and trip from 3lb higher in November last year, and his latest Southwell performance would suggest he is gradually coming back to form. Connected and Original Thinker are others to consider.

CONNECTED showed much improved form to get off the mark in cosy fashion on handicap bow over C&D 5 weeks ago and looks capable of defying a 5 lb rise. Chifa shaped better than the bare result here 12 days ago so is feared as he bids for a fifth C&D win, with Original Thinker another to consider.

It looks highly competitive among the rest but CONNECTED could soon prove a good deal better than his current mark.
