Should it get really miserable, this thorough stayer should be keeping on better than some.

Long time since this low in the weights; capable when fresh and the wetter the better.

Back from a similar break when winning at this meeting two years ago.

Evidently in rude health but this undoubtedly tougher from career-high mark. Has less to prove than some in his current form but would be opposable on soft.

13:35 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

Landofsmiles has enjoyed a fruitful campaign since his return from a 486-day layoff, with victories at Uttoxeter and most recently Cartmel. A further 5lb rise in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid from the veteran, although he could prove vulnerable to better-treated rivals. GOOD BOY BOBBY ticks plenty of boxes for his red-hot yard and could be worth chancing off a tumbling mark, while Aye Right should appreciate these calmer waters.

The highly admirable AYE RIGHT went winless in just a handful of starts last term, albeit not disgraced in face of a stiff task when fourth in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase on his final start. Given a chance by the assessor on return, he could be worth chancing to come out on top back in calmer waters. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in fine fettle and his Good Boy Bobby is a big threat on his seasonal bow. Landofsmiles and Cyclop complete the shortlist.

It might be worth chancing a return to form for GOOD BOY BOBBY, who returns for another season with his yard going well.

INQUISITIVELY has made a very pleasing start to his career in his three runs to date and is open to further improvement after a commanding success in Listed company over 5f at York last time. Kevin Philippart De Foy's charge is fancied to succeed at the main expense of Flora Of Bermuda, who chased Big Evs home in the Flying Childers at Doncaster and is feared most. Midnight Affair and Asean should also be noted.

INQUISITIVELY holds the clear edge on the form of his stylish York listed success and with further progress on the cards from this lightly-raced colt he gets a confident vote. Alabama is in excellent hands and rates second best ahead of useful duo Zoulu Chief and Flora of Bermuda.

Inquisitively and Flora Of Bermuda are respected but a good alternative is MIDNIGHT AFFAIR. Asean completes the shortlist.

14:05 York Stakes (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The subsequent dual Group 1 winner Shaquille won this race 12 months ago and this looks like another competitive renewal. That said, marginal preference is for WAHKAN, who cost 250,000gns last year and he is a half-brother to the 6f Listed winner Stormy Girl. Pilgrim has run well over course and distance the last twice and is an obvious threat to the selection. Bona Fortuna is another with valid form claims, while any market support for Gamekeeper or Thunder Flow would have to be noted.

A back-end novice in which the market will be revealing but preference is for GAMEKEEPER, who is John & Thady Gosden's sole runner on the card and market support would only heighten confidence somewhat further. The main danger may emerge from Pilgrim, who has experience on his side and has twice run well over C&D in recent weeks. Bona Fortuna, Alhoby and Thunder Flow are just a handful of others worth considering.

The vote goes to rock-solid contender PILGRIM, ahead of Bona Fortuna. Some of the newcomers are interesting.

Third in the Champion Bumper and he looks a seriously exciting prospect for novice hurdles.

Readily defied a penalty in 8-runner novice hurdle at Perth (16.2f, soft, 6/5) 168 days ago and has the physique/attitude to carry on improving. Beat a disappointing horse at Perth and questionable whether he's up to this.

Easily landed the odds on hurdles bow at Worcester on return last month and remains a good prospect. Point/bumper/hurdle winner and looked a horse to follow when strolling in at Worcester.

Worth a shot at this. Has won his last five handicaps and clearly progressing; this might be a big ask, though.

Shaped better than bare result when third in bumper at Stratford in April but this is a tough ask on hurdles bow. Placed in a point and Stratford bumper; wasn't cheap and should be capable a lot better.

14:10 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 1) 20f Race Class Flow

CAPTAIN TEAGUE did best of the home team when a cracking third in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival and Paul Nicholls' charge could take high rank in the novice hurdling division this season. The son of Doyen is fancied to land this Grade 2 contest en route to bigger things, and that can come at the main expense of Rock House, who proved an easy winner on his opening bid over timber at Worcester last month. Mullinaree may chase the duo home.

CAPTAIN TEAGUE was still green when third in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival and has the ability to make a winning start over hurdles in this. The progressive Resplendent Grey has achieved the most over hurdles so far so is next best ahead of Rock House, who looks a good prospect.

Paul Nicholls is evidently unconcerned by aiming this high so soon with his hurdling debutant CAPTAIN TEAGUE. He could be top class.

That race has thrown up plenty of winners and she's respected up in class. Looked really good at Salisbury in beating a subsequent winner; exciting filly.

More needed upped markedly in grade but she rates the type to do better again on that evidence. Never headed when winning by just over 7l at Kempton; track should suit.

However, she's likely to come up short back up markedly in grade. Lacks the profile usually associated with winners of backend juvenile Group races.

SKELLET shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking last time over 7f at Salisbury in a race that is starting to work out well and she could be up to this tougher assignment. Ralph Beckett's charge raced prominently before quickening nicely on that occasion and plenty of improvement can be expected. Similar comments apply to Dance Sequence, who won on her racecourse debut on the July course, while Chic Colombine hasn't tasted defeat since June and she holds solid claims.

SKELLET progressed as expected from her highly promising debut effort when landing a Salisbury maiden in impressive fashion 5 weeks ago (pulled clear with a subsequent winner). Well worth her place at this higher level, she shades the vote to come out on top again with her yard continuing in fine form. Chic Colombine, in search of the 5-timer, and Godolphin's Dance Sequence, who scored in good style on debut in July, are others to consider.

The hat-trick seeking Urban Outlook won with enough in hand at Haydock last time to suggest that a 6lb rise in the ratings won't prevent another bold bid, and Andrew Balding's gelding merits respect. Preference, however, is for top-weight KINGFISHER KING, who could unlock enough improvement over this stiffer test of stamina to land the spoils. Tenerife Sunshine, Cavern Club and Dreams Adozen also warrant a second look.

William Haggas has a good record in this and his KINGFISHER KING can add to that now his stamina is drawn out much more on just his second handicap start. Urban Outlook is an improving young stayer so rates a big threat in his hat-trick bid. Spectacular Style, Rathgar, Dreams Adozen and Lordship all bring solid credentials to the table too so warrant respect in a cracking handicap.

In a competitive field, preference is for CAVERN CLUB, who looks well worth this second crack at 1m6f, ahead of Urban Outlook.

The Listed Flat winner PANJARI was a talented performer in Germany and he could take all the stopping if transferring that ability to hurdling now under the tutelage of Paul Nicholls. Donnacha sets the standard of those with hurdling experience and the son of Jet Away may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Classic King, who is making his first appearance over the smaller obstacles.

PANJARI is an exciting recruit to this sphere having shown useful form on the Flat in Germany, so he gets the nod to get his hurdling career off to the perfect start. Donnacha offered plenty to work on both starts over hurdles last season and has the potential to do better still if cutting out the errors, while newcomer Zonda makes appeal on paper for last year's winning yard.

The most interesting runner is Paul Nicholls' new recruit PANJARI, who was very talented on the Flat when trained in Germany.

AUDIENCE has been narrowly denied when finishing second on each of his last two starts and he looks primed to go one better on this occasion. Shouldvebeenaring appears to be the biggest danger to the selection after a very good third in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp last Sunday and he may benefit from having a good pace to aim at here. Chindit and Matilda Picotte are others with strong form claims.

AUDIENCE is taken to cap an excellent season by adding this Group 2 to the Group 3 he won on the July Course in midsummer. With slight doubts over whether Chindit is fully effective over 7f it could be that Shouldvebeenaring and Matlida Picotte give the selection most to do.

With a good pace on the cards, this appears likely to set up perfectly for SHOULDVEBEENARING (nap). Second choice is Audience.

Course form can count for a lot in a contest of this nature and THE COFFEE POD must hold every chance on the back of a taking success here over shorter last month. The step up in trip can eke out further improvement on this occasion, and he may have too much for impressive Newcastle debut winner African Spirit and Grey Cuban, who brings a strong level of form to the table. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Lambert, Mr Monaco and Nellie Leylax.

THE COFFEE POD continued his progress when making all at this course last month and, with further progress to come upped in trip, he can land this valuable prize. Heading the list of dangers is African Spirit, who looked potentially useful when winning at Newcastle on debut, while Lambert and Candonomore are two others to also take into account.

Having caught the eye when keeping on for eighth in a 6.5f sales race at Doncaster last month, GREY CUBAN earns the vote.

A tentative nod goes to PULL AGAIN GREEN, who won in easy fashion when last seen over 3m at Bangor-on-Dee in August and he can continue his upward trajectory. Fergal O'Brien's charge has been raised 8lb for that success, which could prove to be lenient and he has a fitness edge over many of his rivals. Chianti Classico is feared most after a very good hurdling campaign last term, culminating in the Albert Bartlett and he should enjoy these calmer waters, while Ioupy Collonges should also be thereabouts.

PULL AGAIN GREEN won well enough at Bangor last time to think he's back to being the smart prospect he'd looked when a prolific winner in bumpers and novice hurdles in 2021/22. He can put his experience to good use up against some interesting chasing debutants, namely Pounding Poet, Chianti Classico, Inch House and Ioupy Collonges.

The suggestion is CHIANTI CLASSICO who was an out-and-out galloper over hurdles and is just the type to do well as a chaser.

A hefty 9lb rise will make life tougher, but he may have just too much for the hat-trick-seeking Humanity and Lucky Fifteen, who will appreciate a return to a sounder surface and is better than what he showed at Goodwood last time out. Irish raider Denmark and easy Haydock winner Shadow Dance complete the shortlist.

HUMANITY hasn't looked back since the blinkers went on and is weighted to complete his hat-trick under a 6 lb penalty for his facile Kempton success. Ascot scorer Alsakib also has better days ahead of him and is next on the list, with Lucky Fifteen in the mix too now back under more suitable ground conditions.

Humanity is very much the pick of the weights but ALSAKIB, Shadow Dance and Lucky Fifteen are interesting alternatives.

A typically competitive renewal sees plenty of chances in this field, with the slight preference being LA TRINIDAD. The six-year-old has been running consistently well of late and, off the same mark as his length second last time over 1m at Redcar, he looks primed to offer another bold bid. William Haggas saddled the winner of this race 12 months ago with Substantial and he saddles both Millebosc and Lattam, with the former holding stronger credentials after a clear-cut second over 1m at Haydock. Star Of Orion and Hafeet Alain are also noted.

This looks set to be run at a good clip and with a host holding claims, it could just be worth chancing ORBAAN. He wasn't at his very best at Ascot on his most recent start but had previously shaped well when fifth over 7f here and a first-time visor could just put an extra edge on him, operating from a dangerous mark. Northern Express, Autumn Festival and Lattam head up the dangers.

FLORENCETHEMACHINE was a comfortable winner of a point-to-point over 3m in Ireland and she can get off to the perfect start under Rules, having been purchased for 120,000 pounds subsequently. Politacus appears to be the biggest danger to the selection after running with credit when last seen in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April, while similar comments apply to Alfie's Princess.

POLITACTUS showed plenty in bumpers last season, culminating with an excellent fourth in a Grade 2 at Aintree's Grand National Meeting, so she's the choice to make a successful hurdling debut. Alfie's Princess is another good hurdle prospect judged on the promise of her bumper debut, while winning Irish pointer Florencethemachine also warrants respect having joined a top stable that has a good record in this race.

Paul Nicholls usually runs a good mare in this race and his new recruit FLORENCETHEMACHINE is given the vote.

SHUWARI lost her unbeaten record in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at this venue last time, where she bumped into a classy rival. She shaped on that occasion as if this step up to a mile could bring out more improvement. Aidan O'Brien last won this race in 2016 with Rhododendron and he saddles Ylang Ylang, who goes to battle with the selection again after finishing third in the Rockfel. She should enjoy this extra yardage, but the daughter of Frankel may still struggle to reverse the form. Classical Song also commands respect.

SHUWARI went off a well-backed favourite for the Rockfel here 2 weeks ago having beaten subsequent Moyglare winner Fallen Angel in a listed event at Sandown in July, but she was left with far too much to do, doing well to make up the ground she did to finish second, and she's fancied to make amends. May Hill runner-up See The Fire surely has more to offer after just 2 starts, while the well-regarded Classical Song has a lot of potential.

Promising CLASSICAL SONG gets the vote, ahead of See The Fire. Shuwari and Ylang Ylang are set for an interesting rematch.

Doublethetrouble has been knocking on the door of late and can also go well.

VALLEY OF FLOWERS is enjoying a very good season and fancied to bag a fourth success turned out under a 5 lb penalty for her impressive recent Catterick success with this longer trip likely to prove well within her compass. Tapeta debutant Natacata is next on the list ahead of 3-time C&D winner Victoriano.

CURIOUS ROVER ran out a comfortable winner of his latest start at Haydock a fortnight ago when encountering softer conditions for the first time, and a 4lb rise might not be enough to stop him from progressing further. Mc Loven (first) and Nazron (second) were closely matched at Lingfield and it wouldn't be a big surprise if the latter were able to reverse the form. Others to note include Ziggy's Queen and Irish Nectar.

MC LOVEN once again showed good speed when holding off Nazron at Lingfield and can confirm placings at a track which should suit his style. Impressive Haydock winner Curious Rover completes the shortlist.

This is tougher than the four-runner nursery CURIOUS ROVER won at Haydock a fortnight ago but he did it in convincing fashion.

Before Midnight is one to note for market support on his first start for the Fergal O'Brien yard.

A few with chances so at the likely odds it is worth siding with LEBOWSKI to capitalise on a handy mark and make a winning start for the in-form Lucinda Russell. C&D scorer Zambezi Fix and in-form Get Back Get Back appeal as the pick of the rest and can chase home the selection in that order.

A half-sister to two winners, she was slowly away when racing keen and green at Listowel but showed promise and now runs a sounder surface, in a lesser maiden. Zarra Ellis, a half-sister to a Listed winner, was slowly away when running well on Naas debut in a race won by a subsequent Group 3 winner. She notably receives 6lb from the selection. Sumptuary Law, a half-sister to a Grade 3 winner, also showed promise on debut here and receives 9lb from the selection. Gangster Granny has five lengths to find with Sumptuary Law on course form while 66-rated Cornahilt Soldier might struggle to win. Madame Plaintiff showed improvement at Navan while Special Angel ran reasonably well on debut. Clever Impulse is a half-sister to five American winners but lacks experience.

Those with experience don't set the bar that high so a chance is taken on Joseph O'Brien newcomer CLEVER IMPULSE, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Zarra Ellis, Special Angel and Sumptuary Law all showed ability on debut and head the dangers.

Having run a solid race on debut in a Listowel maiden on soft ground, ORDEROFTHEPHOENIX can improve from that to score.

Trainer Charlie Appleby landed this contest last year with a newcomer and he can repeat the feat with DEVOTED QUEEN, a well-bred daughter of Kingman who is a half-sister to One Ruler, a Group 3 winner here as a two-year-old. By Siyouni, who has been in high demand of late, Topanga is a very interesting newcomer for the Andrew Balding stable, while Dilara and So Logical are others to consider.

DEVOTED QUEEN is a likely type on paper for Godolphin and is taken to make a successful debut before any betting clues. Dilara and Maverick Wings are a couple of the other interesting newcomers, while Lumiere d'Or should have more to offer after a promising start at Southwell.

Lumiere D'Or showed promise on her debut but there are choicely bred newcomers in opposition and DEVOTED QUEEN heads the list.

Any amount of improvement can be expected from Roger Varian's runner and this looks a good opportunity. Cracksking has been shaping as if a win could be just around the corner, while similar comments apply to Syllabus.

INDEMNITY and Cracksking look the pair to focus on. The latter finished ahead of 2 subsequent winners on his most recent outing at Kempton, but the former shaped with oodles of promise on his debut at Lingfield and edges the vote with improvement on the cards. Syllabus can prove best of the rest.

Indemnity shaped well on debut but CRACKSKING has shown more than enough to think a race like this could fall his way.

This is a drop in grade for ALLIGATOR ALLEY and the gelded son of Kingman may have too much class for these rivals based on his win at Newcastle two starts ago. Looking For Lynda was far from disgraced when runner-up in a conditions event at Beverley last time out and the three-year-old must merit respect. Wen Moon also arrives in fine fettle and shouldn't be far away if continuing in the same form.

Back down in trip, NEVER DARK produced a career best when making all at Haydock 13 days ago and he can continue his good form and land a fourth win of the year. The 6-y-o is taken to see off the challenge of Alligator Alley, who ran well when second here in August, while Wen Moon can also be thereabouts once more.

Copper Knight should go well in the race named for him but WEN MOON may yet have more to give at 5f.

A highly-encouraging second behind a subsequent winner on his chasing debut at Worcester in May, PUDDLESINTHEPARK looks to have the strongest form on offer. The five-year-old should be suited by conditions on this occasion and he is narrowly preferred to Blade Runner, who has won three of his four starts over fences. Enemenemynemo and Lanspark are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

FAUSTINOVICK showed his ability to go well fresh when scoring over C&D under Harry Kimber on last season's reappearance and might be able to repeat the feat back from wind surgery having dropped back to that winning mark. Puddlesinthepark was a promising second on his Worcester chase debut in May and is second choice ahead of Chris Gordon's Blade Runner.

The mare MY GIRL KATIE did well in all her handicaps over hurdles and her point win ticks a box now she tackles fences.

BARNSO contested a smart Curragh maiden on debut and showed promise when finishing second to a now 100-rated winner at Roscommon last month. He raced a little green in his Roscommon run and can confirm form with Small Fry - beaten a half-length, on identical terms. Sobriety Blue is his trainer's first-string but needs to improve on his Down Royal debut to win while stablemate Harry The Rogue is consistent and while possibly unsuited by soft ground at Listowel, is vulnerable to more able types. He holds reserve State's Evidence on two previous meetings. Wackerjack is a half-brother to an eight-time winner while Maxwell Smart is a half-brother to a smart staying winner but debuts in a visor.

BARNSO was no match for a useful sort at Roscommon last month, but it was still a step forward in form terms and, with today's contest looking a far more suitable assignment, he's put forward as the answer. Harry The Rogue is sure to pose a big threat if bouncing back from a lesser effort at Listowel, while Small Fry also enters calculations having not finished all that far behind the selection last time.

The Charlie Appleby yard has won this 3 times with a newcomer since 2019 and ENCHANTED LIFE gets the nod to enhance that record, with confidence in her chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Get The Music On rates an obvious danger after her encouraging debut second, while Glimpsed and Wellborn are other interesting newcomers.

The standard is set by GET THE MUSIC ON after her debut second at Lingfield but the newcomers have to be feared.

However, the nod goes to GREAT COLACI, who showed a likeable attitude when scoring in game fashion over C&D last time and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him following up, while Milltown Lily should also get involved.

TWOFORTHEGUTTER made a positive start for this stable when third over C&D last month and is taken to build on that and land a first success. Course specialist Great Colaci gets the nod for the forecast spot ahead of Tristan Davidson's Spirit of Ash.

The filly SPIRIT OF ASH has been running well over 1m2f here of late and shouldn't have a problem now back up in trip.

A case can be made for plenty of these but the vote goes to RIOT, who is 1lb lower than when winning at Doncaster in July and his last couple of efforts in defeat have been promising. His hat-trick seeking stablemate Kalganov is an obvious threat following his two recent victories. Craven finished in front of the selection at Ayr last time and has to be on the shortlist as a result, while Ugo Gregory and No Nay Nicki are others to consider.

A host of runners in this finale but the thriving KALGANOV is 4 lb well-in compared to his future mark under a penalty and will take a bit of stopping with a reproduction of the form he showed at Ayr early last week. The selection's ownermate Ugo Gregory, who won this in 2021, is second choice ahead of Eldrickjones and No Nay Nicki.

A busy spell may catch up with KALGANOV (nap) at some stage but he won in good style at Ayr last time and can complete the hat-trick.

Her rating has climbed 10lb in three runs this year but remains unexposed as a progressive three-year-old and likes this surface. Allo Arry was second over a mile here last month and has obvious claims, despite appearing more exposed that the selection. Chestnutter debuts on the all-weather from a wide draw, which isn't ideal, but has winning form on good ground while stablemate Not Just Yet also debuts here, under a 5lb claimer, and has place claims. Mere Accountant has found handicaps difficult to crack but won her only previous race at this venue. Rocky Dream's two wins this year have come in claimers and while he likes this distance, is drawn wide in 17. Exquisite Acclaim was a half-length behind the selection last month but has won just once from 23 runs and has a wide draw in 16. Cash Or Crypto is risky, as he has refused to start twice.

SUPER OVER has disappointed at the Curragh the last twice but he's potentially well treated back on AW so could be worth chancing. Improving 3-y-o Talia is feared most ahead of Allo Arry.

A tentative vote goes to UNLESS, who may have disappointed in Group 2 company last time out but is better judged on her form previous to that, including when fourth in the Sandringham and winning a Listed contest at the Curragh in August. Aidan O'Brien's filly is preferred to Sea The Lady, who has performed well in defeat in Group 1 races. Novus has been in consistent form of late and is of interest, while the unexposed Silver Lady cannot be ruled out either.

The lightly-raced SILVER LADY gave the strong impression that she'll be suited by a step up to 1¼m on her return here a fortnight ago, so she's an appealing candidate for the same jockey/trainer combination that took this contest 12 months ago. Unless sets the standard and ought to go well, with Mukaddamah and Novus others to consider in an intriguing Group 3.

Open. Unless and Mukaddamah look solid to run well but the progressive NOVUS may emerge on top on her move up to 1m2f.

Jim Goldie's charge gets the vote ahead of Redcar winner Pillar Of Hope and Diamondonthehill, who has been in consistent form of late.

There's a good chance a change of scenery will have perked up MILLION THANKS, so he's the suggestion from an appealing looking mark. Last-time-out winner Pillar of Hope and Fools Rush In head the dangers.

Diamondonthehill can go well but PASTICHE still has untapped potential on both the AW and over 1m.

TOSEN WISH has been flying the flag for Ireland in the Racing League and competes from the same rating as when winning at Southwell. His all-weather record is excellent, is ideally suited by a mile and is clearly in top form. It would be a travesty if Tom Hamilton didn't secure Ride Of The Year for his Laytown heroics on Punk Poet, as he clung for dear life with a slipped saddle while tally-hoing to victory. Punk Poet has been raised 10lb but remains interesting, as he was rated 87 just last year. Migdam may have been unsuited by heavy ground at Tipperary but has won both his all-weather runs todate although drops in distance. Ransom is a dual CD winner who ran well here last week while inexperienced Pier Pressure debuts in handicaps. Giuseppe Cassioli has been running well but isn't ahead of the handicapper.

TOSEN WISH remains less exposed than most, notably on all-weather and, having resumed winning ways at Southwell 4 weeks ago, he looks sure to go well again. Stablemate and last year's winner Pierre Lapin is a threat, with 3-y-o Pier Pressure and Ransom others to consider in a competitive affair.

This represents a significant drop in grade for MARKAKOL given he's run in Pattern company on his last three starts, and the son of Starspangledbanner can take full advantage. The selection's only win came over C&D in July and he can see off Garfield Shadow, who made an excellent impression when scoring on debut at Hamilton. Glory Hyde has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her penultimate effort.

MARKAKOL is a speedy sort who should appreciate these calmer waters, so he's taken to make it 2 from 2 over C&D. Garfield Shadow overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Hamilton and should be all the wiser for that, while Glory Hyde warrants respect, too.

Markakol and GARFIELD SHADOW have penalties to deal with but still make most appeal. The selection looked promising on debut.

DARK STREET, whose two wins to date have come over course and distance, can record a third success. The Luke Comer-trained gelding, who got up close home to win here last month, is only a pound higher once taking his jockeys' claim into account. In fact, the five-year-old races off an identical mark to that from which he won his first race. Sioux Princess also won on her most recent visit to this track but that was over an additional furlong and a half. James Ryan, who was on board when the Michael O'Callaghan-trained filly won last time retains the ride here. Neverfindanother U has been below her best of late but would be a serious threat if returning to the form which saw her win here in March. Robert Whearty is a significant booking in a race restricted to apprentices.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and NOT JUST ANY EAGLE looks the way to go on the back of his very good Navan second last week. In-form duo Ciao Adios and Sioux Princess appeal as the pick of the remainder and can chase home Patrick Flynn's gelding in that order. Dark Street completes the shortlist.

TOWNSEND MANOR had Salvuccio (fourth) comfortably behind when an easy winner at Redcar on his penultimate start, and he can uphold that form on his return to novice company. The Brian Ellison stable can do little wrong at present and Callianassa is a leading contender based on the pick of her form, while High Violet is another open to improvement on just her third career outing.

An impressive winner at Redcar on his penultimate start, TOWNSEND MANOR again ran well when third on nursery debut at Lingfield (5f) 17 days ago and he earns the vote to come out on top. Impressive Wolverhampton scorer Salvuccio rates the chief threat, with The Liegeman and Invincible Speed a couple of likely improvers also from good yards.

His strong finish at Wolverhampton on Saturday suggests SALVUCCIO is more than capable of holding his own back in novice company.

C&D winner KAMPALA BEACH catches the eye under in-form apprentice Conor Stone-Walsh. Successful here last November, the four-year-old added a second victory when landing a Leopardstown handicap in August. Given his proven ability to act on the surface, the Belardo gelding should be a leading contender. Mads Black Eights, a mare who tends to reserve her best for this course and distance, shaped as though returning to form when staying on in sixth here last month. The Matthew Smith-trained seven-year-old won't find it easy from a wide draw but has the ability to get involved. Portreath, who stayed on well when third here on his all-weather debut last time, may prefer further but is relatively unexposed so can't be discounted.

KAMPALA BEACH has a mixed record on turf this season but he's better on AW and is potentially on a good mark back on this surface. The Mpex Kid is lurking on a dangerous mark so is next best ahead of Portreath.

Tropical Air was unable to make it four on the bounce at Lingfield last week, but the drop back to 6f makes him a key player. Others to note are Kandy House and Without Flaw.

TROPICAL AIR has proved an all-round improved model for the switch to AW, winning 3 of his last 4 starts prior to a creditable fourth at Lingfield 8 days ago. Returned to the scene of his last success, he looks sure to go well again. Assembly Call rates a likely improver now handicapping and along with Kandy House heads the dangers. Cool Run also promises to do better at some stage.

Cool Run and Tropical Air are high on the list but ASSEMBLY CALL appeals as a big improver now making his nursery debut.

BURREN SONG, who finished third in a premier handicap on Champions Weekend, can record his second win at this track. A really progressive gelding on turf throughout the summer, the Andrew Slattery-trained five-year-old should be good enough to make his presence felt. Ceallach, a three-time winner at this venue, finished behind the selection at Leopardstown last time but had just been touched off in the "Red God" here on his penultimate start. Returning to his favourite surface could well see the four-year-old resume winning ways. Golden Twilight, a stablemate of the aforementioned gelding, is another who reserves his best for Dundalk. He will need to step up slightly on his most recent form but has dropped a couple of pounds in the handicap so could be capable of doing so.

A few with chances but CEALLACH rates the pick of these weights so edges the vote at the chief expense of Aurora Princess, who wasn't seen to best effect when third at Gowran last time. Recent scorers Cozone and Star Harbour both warrant plenty of respect too in this open handicap.

The Andy Oliver-trained COLD STEEL can add to his two previous wins at this track by registering the third success of his career. The five-year-old had been out of form this season prior to running one of his better races when finishing fourth here last time. Stepping back up in trip may unlock further improvement in the son of Summer Front. Kadeen, a solid third on his racecourse debut at this track last October, is a lightly-raced colt with more scope for improvement than the majority of his rivals. Michael Halford and Tracey Collins have their string in great form in recent weeks. John Alexander, a former course-and-distance winner, had been highly tried prior to finishing fourth at Roscommon last time. This is certainly more his level so he, too, has to enter calculations.

COLD STEEL is back on a good mark and gave indication that he may be able to take advantage when fourth over slightly shorter here a fortnight ago. Billy Lee, who was on board for both course wins last year, is back in the saddle now and Andrew Oliver's charge is preferred to Kadeen, a lightly-raced 3-y-o who could have more to give, and Dark Note, who ran well over hurdles at Listowel recently.

Dapper Man and Elzaal are feared most of the remainder.

WOOBAY opened her account in good style when making all at Catterick 9 days ago and she can score again now that she's up and running. The main danger could be five-time C&D winner Elzaal, who wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up here a week ago, while Lady Celia can also give her running once more.
