Purosangue

2/1(+40%)
(6) Purosangue 2/1, Haydock winner in June and much better form when runner-up 3 times since, including Molecomb at Goodwood and the Rosebery at Ayr (both 5f). Return to 6f no issue and he's a big player on form.

2nd (3) Esquire (5/1 +23%)

(3) Esquire 5/1, Expertly prepared to land 7-runner novice at Hamilton with plenty in hand 3 weeks ago. Opposition here a different undertaking but he's sure to progress.

Jehangeer

28/1(-12%)
(5) Jehangeer 28/1, Kodiac colt. Brother to yard's star sprinter Hello Youmzain. Confirmed debut promise with victory in 9-runner Ayr maiden (6f, firm) in June. Good sort physically and pitched into the Group 2 Gimcrack over C&D latest, only to come up well short.
4
4th (12) Tropical Island (17/2 -13%)
Tropical Island

17/2(-13%)
(12) Tropical Island 17/2, Won 5f Ripon maiden on debut in July and improved another chunk when doubling tally in 6-runner nursery over C&D a month ago, well on top at the finish. Looks well worth a shot at this level.
5th
5th (10) World Of Darcy (16/1 +60%)
World Of Darcy

16/1(+60%)
(10) World Of Darcy 16/1, Fairly useful colt, twice placed in listed company this season. Out of depth on first outing since leaving Karl Burke when 9¾ lengths tenth of 12 to Alyanaabi in Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket (7f) but cashed in on drop in class at Nottingham on Wednesday. Cheekpieces on.

(4) Government Call 33/1, Sandown maiden winner on second start and strong at the finish when defying a penalty in novice company at Ripon. That form well advertised subsequently and he may not have been himself in the Sirenia Stakes switched to the AW latest. Cheekpieces on.

Serried Ranks

10/3(+17%)
(7) Serried Ranks 10/3, Overcame inexperience when taking 3-runner maiden at Nottingham (5f, heavy) on debut in May. Below that level at Salisbury a fortnight later but given time off and created a seriously good impression when a ready nursery winner at Goodwood on first crack at 6f. Major claims.
9th
9th (9) Starlore (8/1 -33%)
Starlore

8/1(-33%)
(9) Starlore 8/1, Bred to be smart and made a successful debut over 7f in July, looking like winning with a bit to spare before idling. Still looks a work-in-progress mentally having faltered in the Group 3 Solario Stakes but he's in the right hands.
LTO Selection:

13:15 York Listed (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A very competitive renewal and a tentative vote goes to PUROSANGUE, who was beaten only a length in Listed company over 5f at Ayr last time and he could go one better today. Andrew Balding's colt shaped as though this step up to 6f would suit when rallying late to finish a clear second on that occasion and he looks primed to offer another bold bid. Starlore is feared most after running well in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown and he should be thereabouts, while C&D winner Tropical Island also warrants to respect.

An open renewal but SERRIED RANKS looked right at home tackling 6f for the first time when a taking winner of a Goodwood nursery and he can take the step up to listed company in his stride. Purosangue can call upon placed form in Group 3 company so he demands respect, with last-time-out C&D winner Tropical Island completing the shortlist.

There was lots to like about the way TROPICAL ISLAND won a C&D nursery last month. Ingleby Ivy is second choice.

1st (2) Ancient Wisdom (2/1 -6%)
Ancient Wisdom

2/1(-6%)
(2) Ancient Wisdom 2/1, €2,000,000 yearling who made an impressive winning debut at Haydock (7f) before following up in workmanlike style on the July Course (7f, good) 15 days later. Seemed beaten on merit when third in Ascot listed event on most recent outing but that form is proving strong and will be suited by 1m.
Relinquished his unbeaten record at Ascot but in a Listed race that's worked out a dream.
2
2nd (4) Chief Little Rock (7/2 +13%)
Chief Little Rock

7/2(+13%)
(4) Chief Little Rock 7/2, Confirmed debut promise when getting up close home in 1m maiden at Leopardstown in August. Built on that when second in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh (1m) 3 weeks ago and should progress further.
Doesn't do much in a hurry but he was second in a Group 2 at the Curragh last time.
3
3rd (1) Ambiente Friendly (16/1 -60%)
Ambiente Friendly

16/1(-60%)
(1) Ambiente Friendly 16/1, Gleneagles colt who made a successful debut (hooded) in 8-runner maiden at Leicester (7f, good) 19 days ago, well on top finish. That form looks nothing out of the ordinary, but it was still a highly encouraging start for a stable that rarely gets first-time-out winners.
This looks a big ask after winning at Leicester just 19 days ago.
4
4th (5) Orne (25/1 -108%)
Orne

25/1(-108%)
(5) Orne 25/1, Acclamation colt who knew his job when making a winning start in a 7f Kempton novice 22 days ago. The proximity of the fourth, who'd shown little previously, raises some questions about the solidity of that form, but he's open to improvement nonetheless.
This represents a huge rise in class from winning a novice on the AW.
5th
5th (6) Per Contra (8/1 +27%)
Per Contra

8/1(+27%)
(6) Per Contra 8/1, Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Chepstow (7.1f) before completing a simple task under a penalty at Ffos Las (7.4f). Still far from the finished article and sure to go on to better things.
Two straightforward wins at minor tracks; has considerably more on his plate here.

Arabic Legend

(3) Arabic Legend 2/1, Dubawi colt who overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in a 7f novice on the July Course. Took a big step forward despite still looking rough around the edges when second to another promising sort in a listed event at Salisbury and seems sure to progress further.
Put in his place in a Salisbury Listed last time but is entitled to improve plenty more.
7th
7th (7) Starliner (40/1 -43%)
Starliner

40/1(-43%)
(7) Starliner 40/1, Didn't need to improve on his previous placed efforts to get off the mark in 5-runner maiden at Listowel (7.1f, soft) 25 days ago, digging deep. This requires more.
Placed in three maidens (7f/1m) before making the breakthrough from the front at Listowel.
LTO Selection:

13:25 Newmarket Group 3 (Class 1) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

ANCIENT WISDOM was unfortunate to bump into two high-class rivals, including the subsequent Group 1 winner Rosallion, when filling third place in a Listed event over 7f at Ascot in July. The son of Dubawi is sure to relish this step up in trip and he looks to be the one to beat. However, Chief Little Rock is capable of giving the selection plenty to think about following his second in the Beresford at the Curragh last month. Arabic Legend will need to improve on his second at Salisbury last time but he cannot be discounted, while Per Contra and Orne are also noted.

An interesting renewal of this Group 3. ARABIC LEGEND finished with more to give behind a similarly promising rival in a listed event at Salisbury back in August and left the impression that was merely scratching the surface with regards his potential, so he's very much of interest now upped further in grade. Ancient Wisdom seemed beaten on merit at Ascot last time, but that form couldn't have worked out much better and, with the step up to 1m sure to suit, he's feared most.

From a yard that has done so well in this race and with his Ascot third such strong form, ANCIENT WISDOM has plenty going for him.

Has mixed record so far and she struggled on stable debut at Cartmel latest; down the list.

(2) Endofconversation 18/1, £5,500 3-y-o, £10,000 5-y-o, Clovis Du Berlais gelding. Half-brother to unreliable bumper winner/fair hurdler Leaderofthedance. Dam unraced. Beaten 20 lengths by only finisher in his point during the spring.
Runner-up in his sole point and interesting to see how he figures in market on rules debut.
LTO Selection:

13:35 Hexham Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Choose A Copper finished second in a point-to-point in May and warrants respect for his in-form yard now making his debut under Rules, although this 2m trip could prove on the short side. With that in mind, it may pay to take a chance on V TWELVE, who was runner-up over hurdles at Haydock in March and his subsequent Flat exploits suggest that he can play a leading role here. All Ways And Ever may do best of the remaining protagonists.

This trip will probably be on the sharp side for CHOOSE A COPPER given his breeding but this isn't a deep race and this £95,000 point recruit looks the way to go. V Twelve should have more to offer as a hurdler this season and is feared most.

5yo CHOOSE A COPPER was bought for £95,000 after his second in a point in May and is an interesting contender on his rules debut.

13:40 Naas Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

CHICAGO CRITIC shaped nicely on his debut here last month and can step forward to open his account now. The Night Of Thunder colt stayed on to finish third to Bluedrum in a newcomers race over seven and going another furlong looks like it can only help. All eyes were on Gallantly in that race last month but he disappointed when finishing only seventh. The Frankel colt may be capable of improving off that run and it would be no surprise if he was a lot closer now. Aidan O'Brien also saddles Kingman newcomer Chemistry, who wears blinkers for his debut. He is a half-brother to a Listed winner in France but holds a sales entry towards the end of the month which wouldn't be encouraging.

GALLANTLY failed to meet expectations when finishing down the field on debut here last month, but given the weight of support for Aidan O'Brien's colt that day, he's worth another chance now stepped up to 1m. Chicago Critic was a few places ahead of the selection in third that day and he may emerge as the main danger, with Chemistry and Best Law another couple fancied to be involved.

A 25-1 chance when third on his debut over 7f at this venue CHICAGO CRITIC could be hard to beat over this extra furlong

It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
