Wears cheekpieces for the first time; stays well and handles soft and good ground; a regular in these Punchestown races. Course specialist over banks at Lingstown and at this circuit, always merits respect here. |

VANILLIER may be able to make a winning return. Gavin Cromwell's charge was impressive when scoring over this course back in February and went on to run well for third at Cheltenham. He finished the season on a bit of a low note, but is a smart horse at his best and coming here fresh could suit. Busselton won the La Touche Cup at the Festival here and has to be respected. He's had a couple of recent spins over hurdles so arrives fit. Desertmore House, who lost out by three-parts of a length in the La Touche, is another to consider. He also has the benefit of a run having won a point-to-point three weeks ago.

With a recent point-to-point win behind him, La Touche runner-up DESERTMORE HOUSE may emerge best in a rematch with key rivals

MIDNIGHT JET has a fine pedigree and showed smart ability to win on debut in May. Out of a Listed-placed half-sister to Marine Nationale, the son of Maxios was well supported when landing a smart bumper for Sam Curling in Killarney, with Grey Jude finishing well held in third. He has joined new connections and will be ready for this reappearance. Master Haku showed plenty of promise when finishing behind Grey Jude here recently and he can turn around those placings as he is open to further progression.

Grey Jude and Master Haku occupied 2nd and 3rd in a similar event three weeks ago but have to give best to MIDNIGHT JET (nap)

50/1(-178%) | (9) Lyreen Og 50/1, Made a promising debut when winning a 3m maiden at Borris House by 2 1/2l; effective at 3m in points and acts on yielding ground; others may be stronger here. Half-brother to four winners, won his only point-to-point start, of definite interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (50/1 -150%)Obey The Order |
50/1(-150%) | (10) Obey The Order 50/1, Improved when fourth, beaten 10l, in a 2m maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on heavy or good ground; longer trip should suit. Point winner, has made the frame on both hurdle starts, may find a few too good again. |

|S| (5) (12/1 -50%)Did I Ask You That |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Did I Ask You That 12/1, Improved when switching to hurdles, finishing 10l third in a maiden hurdle here last time; effective at 2m6f and acts on soft ground; could have a say with further progress. 11th (12) (150/1 +0%)Soldier Saint |
150/1(+0%) | (12) Soldier Saint 150/1, Improved on poor hurdles debut when down the field in a 2m1f maiden hurdle at Down Royal last time; effective at 2m and acts on good ground; faces a stiff task. Second in a bumper in Britain, has found things too demanding in two Irish maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (200/1 -150%)Get Your Coat |
200/1(-150%) | (14) Get Your Coat 200/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a 2m maiden hurdle at Galway on only start; should be effective around 2m4f but needs major improvement. Big price when tailed off first time out at Galway, will probably need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (200/1 -33%)Rathmolyon Roller |
200/1(-33%) | (11) Rathmolyon Roller 200/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a 2m bumper at Kilbeggan on only start; has it all to do. Never involved at Kilbeggan on his only bumper start, will need to gain jumping experience. |

Grade 2 bumper winner GREEN SPLENDOUR can make a successful start over timber. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was impressive at Aintree in early April and looks a nice prospect for novice hurdles this season. He Can't Dance was placed in a Grade 2 bumper, but needs to improve from his hurdling debut when well beaten at Galway last month. Gordon Elliott's runners have been coming on for their initial runs, though. Champagne Kid has plenty of solid placed form and should reach the frame again. He sets the standard with his mark of 118, but it would be disappointing if Green Splendour didn't prove considerably better than that level.

This looks like a good launch pad over jumps for GREEN SPLENDOUR, whose victory in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree is persuasive.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (15/2 +12%)Maxios Aurelius |
15/2(+12%) | (3) Maxios Aurelius 15/2, Not without promise when well beaten in a juvenile bumper at Aintree only start; plenty more needed but respected now hurdling for good yard. Well held in a recent Aintree bumper but was only 5-1 for that; can probably do better. |

Maestro Du Mesnil and Tenter Le Tout are entitled to be wiser after both made encouraging starts to their careers. However, they don't set the bar very high and a chance is taken that APOLLON FORLONGE, a 75,000-euro purchase whose well-related dam was a winner over fences in France, could have been found a decent opening at the first time of asking.

Chester Williams' TENTER LE TOUT made a promising debut in a big field at Stratford last month and gets the vote.

Tailed off in sole bumper start and mammoth absence to over come now; impossible to fancy. |

SORTUDO showed some high-class potential last season. Runner-up at the Dublin Racing Festival before finishing seventh in Cheltenham, he progressed further when bolting up at Fairyhouse in April and will be ready for this reappearance. Jalon D'oudairies missed last season but has also shown smart ability in NH Flat races. A debut point-to-point winner and placed third in the 2024 Champion Bumper, his absence is a concern, although he reappears at an encouraging time of the season. Factual Fact debuts over jumps but has good recent Flat form, while Shuttle Diplomacy finished ahead the selection when third at Cheltenham but behind him at Fairyhouse. He is on a retrieval mission following his Galway disappointment.

Rain is welcomed for SORTUDO after he relished conditions in his final bumper start last season and he may make a winning hurdle debut

INDEPENDENT LADY was well held in fourth on her racecourse debut in a Uttoxeter bumper a few weeks ago, but it would come as no surprise if she stepped forward considerably now tackling hurdles and with Nico de Boinville taking over in the plate. Teddington Lock won on her Rules bow at Fontwell and is also interesting going over timber for the first time, while Future Bucks completes the shortlist.

The Verdict comprises the hurdles debutants INDEPENDENT LADY and Teddington Lock who both look open to progress.

11/1(-38%) | (3) Friary Road 11/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Killarney last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; could bounce back. Had an excuse after being pulled-up at Killarney and is a player if rebounding. |

JOUEUR MASQUE was an impressive winner on his last visit here in June and this is a nice stepping stone for him on his return. The Masked Marvel gelding had shaped with promise in a couple of strong maiden hurdles prior to his easy success and he remains a novice for this season. County Final also carries the JP McManus colours and was an impressive winner when taking his maiden hurdle at Navan in September. He looks like the owner's second choice here. Cappa Hill is on a hat-trick, but looks to be facing a better calibre of rival now.

COUNTY FINAL won by a wide margin at Navan last time and winners have come from that race so he is selected.

|PU| (2) (11/8 +31%)Easy Love |
11/8(+31%) | (2) Easy Love 11/8, Improved from her debut, just tiring up in trip back from a break when 16l third in a novice hurdle over 3m at Cheltenham last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m and was highly tried in bumpers; progressing over hurdles. Wasn't disgraced when 16l behind the promising Conman John at Cheltenham. |

The winner of an Irish point-to-point before filling the runner-up berth in a bumper at Tipperary for her previous yard, KATIE'S MELODY continued on an upward trajectory when she made all in a mares' NH Flat race at Ffos Las a fortnight ago. That should have put her spot-on for this introduction to hurdles and Harry Derham's representative is the most intriguing option. Easy Love and Betty's Tiara are respected as previous winners in this discipline, but may struggle to concede 7lb to the selection.

Anthony Honeyball's EASY LOVE should find this easier than the race she contested at Cheltenham last time.

11/1(+31%) | (11) La Tulipe Noire 11/1, Scored by 4 1/4l off 54 over 8f at Roscommon in October and ran to form when third, beaten 1l, off 64 last time. Yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles. Long losing run before back-to-back Flat wins last month; chance if transferring form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (33/1 -32%)The Blaggard |
33/1(-32%) | (4) The Blaggard 33/1, Made mistakes and found little when down the field in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m but currently out of form. Tramore maiden winner has struggled in 3 handicap runs since; tailed off here latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (16/1 +0%)Thunder Wolf |
16/1(+0%) | (13) Thunder Wolf 16/1, Made mistakes but ran to form, not given a hard time on final qualifying run when well beaten in a juvenile hurdle at Listowel latest. Effective at 2m; more to come if ridden slightly more positively in handicaps. Well beaten in 3 hurdle starts; may improve entering handicaps but needs to; 7lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (40/1 -400%)Boltlander |
40/1(-400%) | (10) Boltlander 40/1, Again well below debut level when down the field in a maiden hurdle here last time. Yet to find suitable conditions over hurdles and likely to need more time. May do better now entering handicap company following a trio of moderate maiden runs. |

SARANDON has shown ability in maidens and should compete on her handicap debut. Although well held in fourth on her introduction at Punchestown back in February, she had plenty of rivals behind her. At Wexford last month, she again ran nicely, with that race's winner finishing second at Graded level subsequently. Bannow Blaze has been running consistently well on mainly good ground in recent times and although 6lb higher than when scoring at Wexford, should again figure. La Tulipe Noire has poor hurdling form, but has been running well on the Flat recently and can get involved as she likes soft ground.

A number of them enter handicap company for the first time, and SARANDON is most interesting after her Wexford fourth last time

2nd (8) (12/1 -71%)Le Galli Bier |
12/1(-71%) | (8) Le Galli Bier 12/1, Well below form on first run since a wind operation when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time. Effective up to 2m3f and acts on soft or good ground; could have more to offer back chasing. Largely consistent maiden; chase form comprises two placed efforts in France. |

3rd (4) (6/4 +75%)Rule Me In |
6/4(+75%) | (4) Rule Me In 6/4, Not given a hard time after meeting trouble when fourth, beaten 25l, in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and may need some give; more to come over fences. Modest fourth at Bangor switched to chasing last time but may be capable of better. |

4th (1) (8/1 -78%)Windsurfer |
8/1(-78%) | (1) Windsurfer 8/1, Badly hampered and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase at Bangor-on-Dee last time. Previously in good form; effective over 2m4f and acts on good ground; capable of better chasing. Hindered by being hampered last time (chase debut) but was eventually left behind. |

5th (7) (15/2 -125%)Hello Cello |
15/2(-125%) | (7) Hello Cello 15/2, Ran to form with a good attitude when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 98 over 2m3f at Fontwell last time. Effective over 2m3f and acts on good to soft ground; brings potential to fences. Has shown improvement over hurdles this term and got off the mark last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (6/1 +20%)Not A Light |
6/1(+20%) | (2) Not A Light 6/1, Made too much use of on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Catterick last time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on soft ground; could figure on chasing debut. Lightly raced 8yo who should take well to chasing and may still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (12/1 -50%)Jack The Nipper |
12/1(-50%) | (6) Jack The Nipper 12/1, Too keen and well below form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Southwell last time. Yet to find suitable conditions but may do better chasing. Out of a multiple winner for his connections; open to improvement on chase/handicap debut. |

A tenacious winner at Fontwell last month, HELLO CELLO looks the safest choice. A 4lb rise should be within her range, as should tackling an additional furlong. Le Galli Bier possibly needed the run when he returned from a break at the same venue and, on just his second start after wind surgery, he is a potential improver to consider. Windsurfer is another match-fit option for the shortlist.

Judged on her hurdles form this term, HELLO CELLO holds particularly solid claims. Jack The Nipper is second choice.

Effective around 2m4f and handles soft and good ground. Capable of better. Highest-rated in this field but lacks a recent run and was only third in this last year. |

2nd (4) (7/2 +30%)Mozzies Sister |
7/2(+30%) | (4) Mozzies Sister 7/2, Quickened clear and won comfortably when improving back over hurdles to take a Mares' Hurdle at Wexford over 2m4f by 13l last time. A consistent hurdler at up to 3m who handles soft and good ground. Has more to offer. Novicey when beaten on chasing debut but was back on song over hurdles last time; a player. |

3rd (5) (12/1 +40%)The Great Nudie |
12/1(+40%) | (5) The Great Nudie 12/1, Too free and below form on chase debut when fourth, beaten 32l, in a beginners' chase over 2m at Gowran Park last time. Effective at 2m and may fare better over a bit further. Handles soft ground but faces a tough task. Well beaten on chasing debut last time; has a fair bit to find with these rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/6 +0%)Fun Fun Fun |
5/6(+0%) | (3) Fun Fun Fun 5/6, Her yard won this race last year. Improved again when landing the Maid Of Perth Mares' Chase (Listed) at Perth over 3m by 4l last time. Effective from 2m2f to 3m and goes well on testing ground. Likes to make the running and is the one to beat if fit. Classy mare is rated 149 over fences; goes well fresh and is powerful yard's first-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (22/1 -100%)Baby Kate |
22/1(-100%) | (1) Baby Kate 22/1, Her yard won this race last year. Improved from her debut but was comfortably held in the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Fairyhouse last time. Effective from 2m to 2m2f and handles soft and good ground. A first-time tongue-tie could help on return. Disappointing in a Grade 3 when last seen; yard's second-string on return with tongue-tie. |

FEET OF A DANCER is top-rated over hurdles and can make a winning return. The Authorized mare didn't win during her last campaign but ran some cracking races in defeat, including on her final two outings. She was a fine fourth in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham and finished with a placed effort in Grade 2 company at Fairyhouse. She may prefer a bit further, but can operate over this trip. Fun Fun Fun looks like an obvious danger. She was three from four over fences last season, including claiming a Grade 3 and Listed success. She may also be suited by further. The Great Nudie is a potential front-runner and could be dangerous if given an easy lead.

FUN FUN FUN is taken to score as she goes well fresh and got to a rating of 149 over fences last term.

2nd (2) (9/2 +25%)Andy Amo |
9/2(+25%) | (2) Andy Amo 9/2, Never jumped or travelled when pulled up in a 3m1f handicap chase at Aintree last time. Effective at 3m on decent ground and progressive over hurdles, but needs to brush up his jumping over fences. Progressive hurdler but he ran no race on his switch to fences at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/4 +7%)Not So Woolly |
7/4(+7%) | (5) Not So Woolly 7/4, Too keen, below form tried in cheekpieces when comfortably held in Betfair NH Novice Handicap Hurdle Final over 2m4f at Sandown last time; in good form prior; trainer in form; always appealed as sort to make a better chaser. Maiden hurdler but with useful form and he has the scope to make a better chaser. |

4th (1) (11/1 -175%)Histrionic |
11/1(-175%) | (1) Histrionic 11/1, From a yard that won this race last year; fell in a handicap chase at Ludlow last time and now wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective at 3m on good ground and still has potential if jumping improves. Point/hurdle winner; 5-4f when departing mid-race on chase debut at Ludlow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 +35%)Madaket |
13/2(+35%) | (4) Madaket 13/2, Ran close to his hurdles best when 7 1/2l third in a 3m1f handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Effective up to 3m on soft ground and likely has a bigger effort to come. Bled from the nose in his first chase but was third of 13 in the second at Ffos Las. |

Blenkinsop and Madaket are still learning over fences and are dangerous to rule out. However, this represents a drop down in class for NOT SO WOOLLY, who was last seen finishing fifth in the EBF Final at Sandown in March. Bred to be effective in this discipline, this could be a good starting point over the larger obstacles for the Joe Tizzard-trained six-year-old.

It was an eyecatching run that BLENKINSOP (nap) delivered on his chase debut, and especially as that was at Cheltenham.

11/1(+21%) | (8) Long Branch 11/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Wexford last time; effective around 2m–2m4f and acts on heavy and good ground; step up in trip looks interesting. Okay runs in maidens; upped in trip here for handicap debut with potential to improve. |

7/2(-5%) | (4) Darcy's Friend 7/2, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Cheltenham last time; in good form prior; hood first time; effective 2-2 1/2m; should improve again for latest outing, progressive. 8/1(0%) | (13) Leah's Contessa 8/1, Continued in poor form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Fairyhouse last time; notable jockey booking; effective at 2m4f and prefers soft ground; hinted at better recently. Recent efforts leave her with a fair bit to find on first attempt at 3m. |

40/1(-400%) | (17) One Way Traffic 40/1, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Ballinrobe last time; wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective around 2m4f on yielding ground but needs to find more. Faller on latest over fences; back hurdling with new headgear combination fitted; reserve. |

7/1(-40%) | (14) Ballyglass Beauty 7/1, Travelled well and returned to form down in grade when beaten 4l off 96 at Limerick last time; suited by 3m, generally consistent and on a reasonable mark. Recent Limerick second augurs well; rider claims the full 7lb now so definite player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (11/1 +31%)Oneforgonzo |
11/1(+31%) | (6) Oneforgonzo 11/1, Ran to his recent chasing level when comfortably held in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Gowran Park last time; stays 3m and handles soft ground; has a chance back hurdling. Well held on seasonal return at Gowran over fences; of limited appeal back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (28/1 -211%)Sir Bob |
28/1(-211%) | (3) Sir Bob 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m7f at Punchestown last time; trainer in form. Effective at 3m on soft ground but others appeal more. Tends to need a run so best watched on first run since May, despite yard's good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (16) (14/1 -211%)Barryroe Madam |
14/1(-211%) | (16) Barryroe Madam 14/1, Made mistakes but ran to form when beaten a length off 95 at Galway last time; wants 3m and is suited by decent ground; in form and remains competitive. Recent Galway third was eyecatching; yard among the winners this week; reserve. |

12th (2) (12/1 -33%)Paul Collins |
12/1(-33%) | (2) Paul Collins 12/1, Scored by a neck off 107 over 2m6f at Galway on his penultimate start; ran below form back hurdling last time. Usually held up; effective from 2m to 2m6f and acts on any ground; needs to bounce back. 2m6f Galway win but bombed out there latest; up in trip now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (10) (100/1 -203%)Edge Of Darkness |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Edge Of Darkness 100/1, Well below form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Galway most recently; effective from 2m to 2m4f on soft or good ground but inconsistent in both codes lately. Entitled to come on from recent comeback run and big step up in trip on handicap debut. |

A point-to-point winner on soft ground, LONG BRANCH ran a nice race when fifth over an extended 2m in a useful maiden at Wexford and will be suited by stepping up to this trip for his handicap debut. He has been caught for pace in recent starts, but this test of stamina should see him in a better light. Darcy's Friend, who wears a first-time hood, was well held over fences at Cheltenham, but his hurdles form since joining Emmet Mullins has been useful and he should also appreciate stepping up in distance. Oneforgonzo is proven at the trip, while smart chaser Midnight Our Fred will likely be all the better for this return.

Much improved over fences last season, MIDNIGHT OUR FRED looks potentially thrown in here on his hurdles return

6/4(+0%) | (3) Roaring Conquest 6/4, Below form and outclassed when down the field in a Listed novices' hurdle at Perth most recently. Had been in good form before that; effective around 2m4f to 3m on soft or good to soft ground. Needs to bounce back. Early stage of career (handicap debut) on this reappearance and surely has more to offer. |

2nd (1) (9/4 +36%)Super Survivor |
9/4(+36%) | (1) Super Survivor 9/4, Below form, possibly found the ground a little quick when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time. The trainer is in form and he is effective up to 3m1f on soft ground, though he may need this run. Two hurdle wins at about 3m last term before two lesser shows at Cheltenham; not dismissed. |

3rd (2) (5/1 +58%)Doughmore Bay |
5/1(+58%) | (2) Doughmore Bay 5/1, Ran a bit below form on a relatively quick turnaround when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ayr last time. Effective at 3m and handles soft or good to soft ground; could yet do better. Off since April 2024 but lightly raced and could still have potential if all is well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/2 +0%)King Of The Lake |
9/2(+0%) | (5) King Of The Lake 9/2, Ran to form when finishing 11l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot on his recent return from a break, just tiring late. Effective from 2m to 2m6f on soft or good ground and remains progressive. Has a run under his belt but it's hard to know whether this trip will see him at his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -133%)Saint Palais |
14/1(-133%) | (4) Saint Palais 14/1, Unseated rider in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Lingfield last time. Effective around 3m on soft ground and looks on a competitive mark. About only 2l off the leader when unseating two out at Lingfield 12 days ago; thereabouts. |

King Of The Lake is versatile regarding distance and having won three of his four starts since undergoing wind surgery, Jeremy Scott's seven-year-old is taken seriously. However, SUNSHINE DIAMOND is likely to relish every yard of this trip and he could be the way to go with the emphasis very much on stamina. The class-dropping Roaring Conquest won a point-to-point over 3m and is another must for consideration.

Saint Palais and Super Survivor are seriously considered but ROARING CONQUEST should be a promising second-season hurdler.

In-form mare, stayed well when landing a five-runner Listed mares' event at Limerick. |

3rd (2) (5/2 +9%)Custom Taylor |
5/2(+9%) | (2) Custom Taylor 5/2, Quickened clear and outclassed rivals when landing a handicap by 9 1/2l off 128 at Gowran Park last time; hugely progressive at 3m, acts on soft and yielding ground; can go well. Underlined his improvement with 3m Gowran win, up 9lb, every chance of further progress. |

22/1(-83%) | (9) Sarah Beara 22/1, Challenging when falling in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Limerick last time; returning from a long layoff; effective 2m4f–3m, acts on soft and yielding ground; returns from an absence. In contention when falling two out at Limerick in December, absent since, might need this. |

5th (8) (2/1 +71%)Intent Approach |
2/1(+71%) | (8) Intent Approach 2/1, Travelled well but found little in a strongly run race, running to form when 13l third in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel last time; effective around 3m and best on a sound surface; capable of better. Tendency to make mistakes resurfaced when third over 3m at Clonmel, chance all the same. |

10/1(-54%) | (3) Olympic Man 10/1, Outpaced and a bit below previous Flat runs when beaten 7 1/4l in the Amateur Riders' Derby over 12f at the Curragh last time; effective around 2m4f, acts on soft; capable of better. Error-prone over fences, two Flat runs should have helped to restore his confidence. |

10/1(+0%) | (4) Timmy Tuesday 10/1, Outpaced but ran to debut form when 10l third in a beginners' chase over 2m2f at Galway last time; effective up to 3m, acts on soft and good ground; needs to bounce back. Second in a 3m Aintree handicap; mixed form since, last two runs have been over fences.. |

40/1(-21%) | (7) Indiana Jones 40/1, From a yard that won this last year; needed the run and may not have stayed when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Listowel last time; effective at 2m but doesn't stay 3m; acts on soft and good; up against it. No success since 2023, no sign of an imminent return to form, very hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (50/1 -317%)Brazil |
50/1(-317%) | (6) Brazil 50/1, Produced best run since March 2024 but possibly flattered when fourth beaten 5 1/2l in the Conditions Hurdle over 2m3f here last time; effective 2m–2m4f, acts on soft and good; not the force of old. Won the Fred Winter in 2022; no success over hurdles since later that year, up against it. |

The progressive CUSTOM TAYLOR was an impressive winner on his return at Gowran Park early last month and may still be a step ahead of the handicapper. The Malinas gelding got a 9lb hike for his easy nine-and-a-half length victory, but that may not be enough to stop him from going in again. Millstream Lady is another coming here in good form and could be the danger. She beat a smart mare in World Of Fortunes at Limerick and Calum Hogan takes a useful 7lb off her back. Top-weight Staffordshire Knot ran well when third in the Brown Lad at Naas and is another who has to be on the shortlist.

If he can smarten his jumping technique INTENT APPROACH may prove good enough to cope with the progressive Custom Taylor

Second at Newton Abbot and easy to envisage him improving on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/1 -25%)Peacenik |
5/1(-25%) | (3) Peacenik 5/1, Too keen and tired late when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Sandown last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on heavy and good ground; still has potential from this mark. May be at his very best in the mud but hard to dismiss given last season's progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/2 -150%)Range |
15/2(-150%) | (2) Range 15/2, Fell before race developed in a handicap chase at Stratford latest; effective around 2m4f, acts on S, G; contender back hurdling. Returns to hurdling after a chase fall; capable of being competitive off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (25/1 -14%)Punta Del Este |
25/1(-14%) | (1) Punta Del Este 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot last time; wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective from 2m to 3m and prefers plenty of cut in the ground; out of form for current yard. New headgear combination tried in the hope of turning around his flagging fortunes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (5/1 +17%)Turn And Finish |
5/1(+17%) | (6) Turn And Finish 5/1, Raced a bit wide but showed best form in 11 months when second, beaten 9l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Plumpton last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; respected off 2lb lower. Can make mistakes and vulnerable to anything remotely well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (18/5 +45%)Valadon |
18/5(+45%) | (7) Valadon 18/5, Suited by step up in trip, ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 110 over 2m6f at Fontwell last time; effective up to 2m5f, acts on S, G; respected up 4lb for this return. Made it 3-7 as a hurdler when digging deep to collect over 2m5f at Fontwell in April. |

AMBION VIEW can kick on after an encouraging second over an extended 2m5f at Newton Abbot last month. A 3lb rise looks manageable and this previous course winner could have a big say with the drop in trip in his favour. The competitively-weighted Turn And Finish also rates a key player on the back of filling the runner-up slot at Plumpton. Similar comments apply to Valadon, who resumes off just 4lb higher than his Fontwell success in April.

Having had the benefit of a run that was encouraging and with his yard flying high right now, AMBION VIEW looks the best bet.

100/1(-52%) | (9) Whatcouldhavebeen 100/1, Well below form when well beaten in a beginners' chase over 2m at Gowran Park last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m and acts with cut; faces a tough task here. Dual-hurdles winner has been tailed off in both chasing starts; this looks even tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -21%)Magic Mccolgan |
40/1(-21%) | (5) Magic Mccolgan 40/1, Ran to form but made too much use of herself when 13l third in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Perth last time; effective up to 2m4f and acts on soft ground; could improve over fences. Bumper and maiden hurdle winner jumped and hung left on final hurdle start last season. |

A dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles and runner-up to Lossiemouth in the Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, JADE DE GRUGY sets out on her chasing career. The daughter of Doctor Dino is out of a half-sister to Champion Chase winner Sire De Grugy and will be hard to beat if taking to this new discipline. Point-to-point winner The Big Westerner was a fine second in last season's Albert Bartlett and the half-sister to smart chaser Stay Away Fay is another exciting recruit to fences. Kala Conti was a good hurdler in her own right, but finished well behind Jade De Grugy at Cheltenham last season.

This is a cracker and whilst Jade Du Grugy is top-rated, she is taken on with THE BIG WESTERNER who can rate higher over fences

Return to 2m looks ideal after dropping away over 2m3f on stable debut. |

5th (6) (9/2 +18%)High Fibre |
9/2(+18%) | (6) High Fibre 9/2, Bit awkward under pressure but ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good to soft and good ground; not ruled out. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (12/1 +25%)Casa Loupi |
12/1(+25%) | (5) Casa Loupi 12/1, Bit below form and did not stay when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time; enjoys making the running; best around 2m and acts on soft; may be sharper for this outing. Last two attempts over 2m resulted in wins at Sandown; possibilities. |

Callum Pritchard got a good tune out of THE HARDEST GEEZER when he finished a respectable second at Newton Abbot and there is a very good chance of the partnership going one better off just 1lb higher. The versatile Aggagio is a multiple winner under both codes of racing and can make this a good test for the selection, while the low-mileage Little Ledgend enters calculations given he gets weight all round and has the assistance of Sean Bowen.

With further improvement plausible, THE HARDEST GEEZER (nap) is preferred. High Fibre is second choice.

Has been most effective on goodish ground, could be vulnerable if conditions are testing. |

10/11(+27%) | (2) Fleur In The Park 10/11, Improved on chase debut when winning a beginners' chase at Wexford by 8l last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts with cut; has more to offer. No problem with a drop to 2m when winning in style at Wexford, jumps well, promising sort. |

3rd (5) (14/1 +0%)Qualimita |
14/1(+0%) | (5) Qualimita 14/1, The yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Improved on hurdles form when second, beaten 3/1l, in a beginners' chase at Gowran Park last time. Effective around 2m and acts on heavy and good ground. Capable of better but further progress is needed. Failed to win over hurdles, second on chase debut, overall profile is off-putting. |

16/1(-14%) | (4) Kilbarry Saint 16/1, Returned to form down in grade after a break when second, beaten 2l, in the T.A. Morris Memorial Mares Chase (Listed) over 2m5f at Clonmel last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Generally consistent performer. Has found things tough against the talented Spindleberry, stiff task against the geldings. |

5th (3) (11/2 +8%)Relieved Of Duties |
11/2(+8%) | (3) Relieved Of Duties 11/2, The yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Improved when second, beaten 4/1l, in a novice chase at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. More improvement expected over fences. Satisfactory run as stable's second-string when runner-up at Cheltenham a month ago. |

Placed several times at Graded level over hurdles, FLEUR IN THE PARK has made a good start to his chasing career and got off the mark in taking style when dropping back to this trip at Wexford. Although not short of stamina, connections feel that his slick jumping can be utilised to best effect over two miles and that theory will be tested to a greater extent as he steps up in class here. Prominent racer Westport Cove has a considerable edge in chasing experience over the selection and his Grade 3 victory at Roscommon is solid form which has been franked by the placed horses. Second at Cheltenham last month, Relieved Of Duties is not one to discount.

There should be better to come from FLEUR IN THE PARK (nap) who created a positive impression at Wexford on his second chase start

17/2(-42%) | (4) Hystery Bere 17/2, Went clear but did too much too soon and needed the run when fourth, beaten 17l, in a 2m handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time; effective from 2m to 3m; consistent but can be frustrating. No win since 2023 but current mark is workable and seasonal debut was satisfactory. |

4th (7) (5/1 +9%)Pedley Wood |
5/1(+9%) | (7) Pedley Wood 5/1, Below form off a stiff mark when comfortably held in a 3m handicap chase at Ffos Las last time; trainer in form. Effective up to 3m1f and acts on heavy and good going; eased in the weights for this return. 4-10 over fences; ended last season with two below-par runs but resumes on workable mark. |

7th (9) (11/1 +8%)Raffles Hermes |
11/1(+8%) | (9) Raffles Hermes 11/1, Won a 2m1f conditions chase at Pontchateau in May and ran to a similar level when third at Segre in June; effective up to 2m5f and acts on good to soft and good ground. Interesting contender on British debut. Dual chase winner in France; tends to race far too freely; looks risky on British debut. |

8th (6) (5/1 +9%)King Califet |
5/1(+9%) | (6) King Califet 5/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 9 1/2l, in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Sandown last time; returning from a long layoff. Open to significant improvement now switched to fences. Only fourth of five on handicap hurdle debut in February but open to progress over fences. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (18/1 -29%)Paddy In The Caddy |
18/1(-29%) | (8) Paddy In The Caddy 18/1, Made too much use of the horse and needed the run when down the field in a 2m handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; wears cheekpieces for the first time. Likes to race prominently; effective at 2m on decent ground; may need to drop a few pounds in the handicap. Won three chases last season but has lost his way since; cheekpices tried today. |

GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY, who has gone well here in the past, was denied a hat-trick when last seen. However, that came after a busy spell and he looks worth chancing resuming off just 3lb higher. The French import Raffles Hermes is something of an unknown quantity but his form in his homeland is encouraging enough to suggest he could have a say. King Califet and Valirann Gold complete the shortlist.

Precocious as a 3yo chaser in France last summer, CLOTILDA could be good value for the 9lb weight-for-age allowance she gets here.

Let down by jumping on yard debut last month when favourite; upped in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (13/2 +54%)Smallcraftwarning |
13/2(+54%) | (15) Smallcraftwarning 13/2, Big effort when just flattening out late up in trip on a very quick return when fourth, beaten 15l in the Cork Grand National (Listed) over 3m4f here last time; effective from 2m to 3m4f, versatile ground-wise; admirably consistent over hurdles and fences. 3m4f too far at Cork; contender back to optimum trip and down in class. |

28/1(-12%) | (12) Mount Frisco 28/1, Well below his best when well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m at Gowran Park last time; effective up to 2m4f, acts on soft; needs to show more. Poor recent comeback run at Gowran leaves him with questions to answer; trip an unknown. |

50/1(-257%) | (1) Embittered 50/1, Hampered by a faller and below form when down the field in a handicap chase over 2m2f at Listowel last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f, acts on soft; inconsistent veteran. Killarney winner well held off 9lb higher at Listowel; remains vulnerable off this mark. |

SPELLACY'S CROSS won twice at Clonmel last month and should be suited by coming back in trip after finishing a respectable fifth here in the Cork Grand National over 3m4f. He had looked nicely progressive prior to that and should have more to offer. Smallcraftwarning was a place ahead of Spellacy's Cross in that staying contest and has been most consistent in recent starts. Ney was an improver over fences early in the year and should have come on from a recent comeback run over hurdles. O'Toole has been difficult to keep sound but is talented and goes well fresh, while recent winners Castle Field Boy and Battle Of Mirbat would prefer further.

Fairyhouse winner CASTLE FIELD BOY can follow up in a deeper race

15/2(-15%) | (4) Illogical Logic 15/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Chepstow last time; effective at 3m and acts on good ground; inconsistent performer. In good form at Newton Abbot (3m2f on good) in May/June; pulled up both starts this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/4 +7%)Faitque De L'isle |
7/4(+7%) | (2) Faitque De L'isle 7/4, Scored by 4l off a mark of 88 at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start and ran to form when fourth last time; effective at 3m, acts on good ground but probably best with some give; still fairly treated. Won penultimate race; creditable fourth at Stratford latest confirms that he needs respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/2 -22%)Edgewell |
11/2(-22%) | (3) Edgewell 11/2, Needed the run when pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Exeter last time; wears blinkers for the first time; effective up to 3m and acts on good to soft and good ground; has a chance. Out of form on his last four starts, latest for new yard; back chasing with new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 -100%)Gazette Bourgeoise |
6/1(-100%) | (1) Gazette Bourgeoise 6/1, Didn't stay when pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cheltenham last time; effective around 3m and acts on heavy and good ground; still looks fairly treated. Backward steps on last two starts but best efforts last term make this look a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (7/2 +83%)Sheeka Supreme |
7/2(+83%) | (7) Sheeka Supreme 7/2, Outpaced and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time; wears cheekpieces for the first time; point winner yet to show much under rules but may come good. Has not accomplished much under rules; 13lb out of the weights, with new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (33/1 -106%)Outback Frontiers |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Outback Frontiers 33/1, Hampered by a faller when second, beaten 9 1/2l, in a handicap chase over 2m at Ludlow last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good ground; hinted at better form on his last two runs. 12lb out of the handicap and not proven under rules over anything like this far. |

FAITQUE DE L'ISLE had to settle for fourth over an extended 2m6f at Stratford, but he ran out an emphatic winner over this trip at Uttoxeter prior to that. In fact, he has been successful on each of his last three appearances over 3m and can extend that record. School For Scandal sprung a Worcester surprise in June, but couldn't back that performance up at Uttoxeter. He has been freshened up, though, and Gazette Bourgeoise returns from an even longer break having signed off her last campaign by pulling up in a Cheltenham class 2.

10yo FAITQUE DE L'ISLE is easily the most persuasive candidate judged on performances recently. Gazette Bourgeoise is second choice.

13/8(+46%) | (3) Gaelic Warrior 13/8, Winner of four Grade 1s; bit keen but outclassed rivals when winning the Oaksey Chase (Grade 2) at Sandown over 2m7f by 5l last time. Effective from 2m to 3m1f, acts on soft and good; has to be considered. Found his vocation up in trip last season, good chance if continuing where he left off. |

2nd (1) (11/8 -25%)Fact To File |
11/8(-25%) | (1) Fact To File 11/8, Top-class chaser who won this race last year; never travelling and well below form when fourth, beaten 38l in the Champion Chase (Grade 1) over 2m here last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on soft and good to soft; could have more to offer this season. Last year's winner and Ryanair hero, some reverses too, strong contender on overall form. |

10/1(-122%) | (2) Fastorslow 10/1, Winner of three Grade 1 races; may have needed the run when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase (Grade 1) here 12 months ago. Returning from a long layoff; effective from 2m3f to 3m1f, acts on soft and good, loves Punchestown; won this in 2023 but fitness may hold him back. Has had glory days at this venue, won this in 2023, off since below-par here a year ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 +50%)Heart Wood |
10/1(+50%) | (5) Heart Wood 10/1, Returned to form up in trip and down in grade when winning the BetVictor Chase (Grade 3) here over 2m7f by 2l last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on soft and good to soft; generally consistent at Graded level but needs more to win this. No match for Fact To File in the Ryanair, has the advantage of an outing this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -64%)Inothewayurthinkin |
18/1(-64%) | (7) Inothewayurthinkin 18/1, Big improver, strong late on when winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1) over 3m2f by 6l last time. Effective up to 3m2f, acts on soft and good; this trip is on the short side and he was well beaten 12 months ago. Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, powerful stayer is likely to find this test inadequate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (50/1 +24%)James Du Berlais |
50/1(+24%) | (8) James Du Berlais 50/1, Ran to form when winning the Colm Quinn BMW Handicap Chase (Grade 3) here by 4 1/4l last time; wears a hood for the first time. Effective around 2m4f, acts on soft and good; has a bit to find. Won a strong handicap here at the festival, not in the same league as the stable stars. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (14/1 +36%)Lecky Watson |
14/1(+36%) | (9) Lecky Watson 14/1, Fell in the Champion Novice Chase (Grade 1) over 3m1f here last time; enjoys making the running. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f, acts on soft and good to soft; Brown Advisory winner who retains plenty of potential in his second season over fences. A leading novice chaser last season when unbeaten in three completed starts, big task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (40/1 -60%)Grangeclare West |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Grangeclare West 40/1, Bit below form when comfortably held in the bet365 Gold Cup over 3m5f at Sandown last time. Effective up to 4m2f, acts on soft and good; this trip may be on the short side. Second in Irish Gold Cup, excellent third in the Grand National, trip on the short side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (20/1 +70%)I Am Maximus |
20/1(+70%) | (6) I Am Maximus 20/1, Ran to form off a high mark when second, beaten 2 1/2l in the Grand National over 4m2f at Aintree last time. Effective from 3m to 4m2f, acts on soft and good; 2024 Grand National winner, but this trip looks too sharp. 2024 Grand National hero, great effort when second in repeat bid, trip on the short side. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (150/1 -20%)Senecia |
150/1(-20%) | (11) Senecia 150/1, Returned to form back down in trip when second, beaten 18l in the Clonmel Oil Chase (Grade 2) over 2m5f at Clonmel last time. Effective around 2m4f, suited by cut in the ground; inconsistent but capable at about Grade 3 level. Often highly tried, ambition rewarded with victory in a 2m Grade 2 Navan event last term. |

FACT TO FILE had 2023 winner Fastorslow back in fourth when winning a strong renewal of this a year ago and is taken to make a successful start to his third season over fences. A brilliant winner of the Ryanair in March, he didn't give his running when tried over two miles here the following month but it generally pays to be forgiving of horses who disappoint at that end-of-season festival. By contrast, Gaelic Warrior finished last term on a high when stepped up in trip and he has a good record at right-handed tracks, including this one. Brought along steadily before peaking spectacularly in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Inothewayurthinkin looks opposable on his reappearance.

The 2024 winner Fact To File has obvious prospects, but may not cope with GAELIC WARRIOR who ended the campaign in commanding form

15/8(+6%) | (6) Le Soleil Reve 15/8, Ran to form under a penalty when third, beaten 3l in a Newton Abbot novice hurdle on latest outing. Trainer in form. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground; should progress now handicapping. Unexposed ahead of this handicap debut and the stiffer stamina test looks sure to suit. |

3rd (4) (16/1 +27%)Knight Templar |
16/1(+27%) | (4) Knight Templar 16/1, Needed the run when pulled up in a 2m4f Cheltenham handicap hurdle on return. A 2m winner over Flat and hurdles who acts on soft and good to soft; should improve for that outing. Has struggled in his two handicaps, though the latest was at Cheltenham. |

15/2(+81%) | (5) Gustapof 15/2, Outpaced, again below French form on ground quicker than ideal well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Aintree latest; stays 2m1f, acts on heavy and soft; fairly consistent at useful level over hurdles and fences in France. Capable in France; quiet in two runs for this stable and may need softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (6/1 -9%)Public Enemy |
6/1(-9%) | (3) Public Enemy 6/1, Every chance, ran to form when just tiring late back from break when fourth beaten 12l in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot latest; effective 2m-2m2f, acts on G; mark looks about right for now. 2-5 over hurdles and should come on for his 12l fourth in a handicap at Newton Abbot. |

TASHAN looked in need of the run when he faded to finish fourth on his seasonal bow at Chepstow last month. With his match-fitness topped up, this lightly-raced potential improver, who had won two of his three previous starts, could go well on his handicap debut. Le Soleil Reve is another progressive option to consider, while Hudson's Irish form over hurdles suggests he could be placed to good effect now he's under the tutelage of Mickey Bowen.

It's now looking a strong race in which TASHAN ran fourth on his reappearance at Chepstow and he can give weight all round.

Maiden hurdle winner in 2023 beaten a long way on chasing debut after an absence last time. |

33/1(+34%) | (2) Flemensface 33/1, Made mistakes and needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a beginners' chase over 3m at Fairyhouse; effective at 3m with cut; should improve for that reappearance. |PU| (16) (80/1 -21%)Workinonadream |
80/1(-21%) | (16) Workinonadream 80/1, No-show on chasing debut when down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Gowran Park last time; effective around 2m4f, handles heavy and soft; improvement required. Hurdle winner rated 110 in that sphere but was beaten a long way on chasing debut. |

KISH BANK finished just behind Mickie Angel when fourth in a 3m contest at Fairyhouse earlier this month. That was a seasonal and chasing debut for the imposing Mount Nelson gelding who, with headgear now fitted, can turn around the form and go close here. Mouse Morris, who saddled the winner of that Fairyhouse race, is represented by Navan maiden hurdle winner Autoportrait. From the family of A Plus Tard, the chasing debutant appeals as one who can fare even better over the larger obstacles. The 124-rated Nowwhatdoyouthink has an edge in experience over many of these. He probably went too hard in front when third at Wexford, but this longer trip is a concern.

Mickie Angel was just ahead of KISH BANK at Fairyhouse last time but the latter may improve more for that comeback run and score

50/1(-213%) | (5) Arctic Stream 50/1, Improved but was comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m, acts on heavy ground; may do better now handicapping. Lightly raced 8yo who may improve now handicapping and back up in distance. |

LOW EXPECTATIONS showed the benefit of a mid-year break and looked a different animal when returning with an all-the-way Fontwell triumph. He has an 8lb higher figure to contend with, but that breakthrough will have boosted his confidence no end. Gone In Sixty deserves to get his head in front, but might have to settle for yet another supporting role, with similar sentiments applying to Locked Down Lad. Brave Move may be able to pick up some prize money.

Point bumper winner LOCKED DOWN LAD has been threatening to open his rules account and he is first choice ahead of Low Expectations.

2/1(+33%) | (4) It's Only A Game 2/1, Promising debut when runner-up, beaten 6l in a big-field bumper over 2m here at the festival in spring; tongue-tie applied for the first time; effective at 2m and acts on yielding ground; improvement likely. A 6l runner-up in a bumper here in May; tongue-tie added on return and should go close. |

2nd (2) (12/1 -20%)Boycetown |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Boycetown 12/1, Promising debut when runner-up, beaten 6l in a maiden over 3m at Quakerstown on only start; effective at 3m and handles yielding ground; open to improvement. Runner-up in a point in April and sold for Eur120,000 after; check for market confidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (4/1 +27%)Treasure Memory |
4/1(+27%) | (7) Treasure Memory 4/1, Promising debut when second, beaten 3l in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Galway last time; effective at 2m and handles yielding ground; leading player on bumper debut. Runner-up in a point and Galway maiden hurdle; should go close with improvement from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/2 -17%)Speculateur |
7/2(-17%) | (6) Speculateur 7/2, Improved on debut to get off the mark with a 9l win in a maiden point over 3m at Ballyknock; joined a top yard that has won this race twice in the last three years. Point winner is respected on rules debut for a top yard, more so if strong in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/2 -100%)Drombane |
7/2(-100%) | (3) Drombane 7/2, Wings Of Eagles gelding out of a useful Flat winner up to 2m2f; top yard excels in bumpers though has won this race only once in recent years; still expected to go well. Nicely-bred newcomer for the champion trainer and commands plenty of respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (125/1 -150%)Paymelater |
125/1(-150%) | (5) Paymelater 125/1, Well placed and ran to form when fourth, beaten 11l in a bumper at Down Royal last time; effective at 2m and handles good ground; inconsistent. Some decent efforts in 9 bumper starts but has to find improvement from somewhere to score. |

IT'S ONLY A GAME was well found in the market when second in a 20-runner bumper at the festival meeting here in May. Martin Brassil now fits a tongue-tie to the French-bred four-year-old, who is taken to go one place better. Treasure Memory was unfancied when second in a decent maiden hurdle at Galway and merits respect on his first bumper outing. Boycetown and Speculateur have shown ability in point-to-points and represent powerful yards, while Willie Mullins' debutant Drombane is out of a mare who was smart on the Flat and over hurdles.

With the benefit of a racefitness, point and Galway maiden hurdle runner-up TREASURE MEMORY can go one better under a top amateur.

HARRY JUNIOR was a ready winner at Lingfield 12 days ago and keeping him ticking over with a quick reappearance could be rewarding. With first-time cheekpieces supplementing a tongue-tie, the low-mileage five-year-old could brush aside a 6lb rise. Dropping in trip shouldn't cause much of an issue but the likes of Ask Her Out and Square Du Roule could be best placed to capitalise if any cracks appear.

This drop in trip looks the right move for CHEDINGTON'S GUEST, who looked stretched by 3m1f on last month's handicap debut.
Ths is the racecard key.
