(10) Kay Ceraar
3Neil CallanTony CarrollBeginning to look flattered by an apparent improved fourth in first-time cheekpieces over this far at Kempton three runs back; has shown nothing over 7f since.
(11) Bodega Nights
3Charlie BennettSylvester KirkHas beaten one rival in her two handicaps, at 6f and 1m; lots to prove in first-time blinkers.
3rd (1) Lahina Bay
3Rhys ClutterbuckRachel Cook & John BridgerHas regressed since showing some promise in novice events, finishing stone-cold last in her two handicaps (hooded latest).
(8) Ricardo Ofworthing
3Jack MitchellSimon DowSole placing in eight runs came in a C&D novice; hasn't progressed at all but might show some benefit for being gelded.
(9) Hawkes Bay
3Sean KirraneAdam WestHasn't really raised his game at all in three handicaps, all of them in cheekpieces; now goes in blinkers.
1st (2) Savannah Smiles
3Sean LeveyTom WardNever dangerous from off the pace when tried in a hood over C&D latest; cheekpieces added.
4th (4) Regal Glory
3Luke MorrisLaura MonganWon a 7f nursery here in December and ran okay afterwards; however, her last two runs were backward steps and something to prove now.
(5) Asian Queen
3Hollie DoyleRobert CowellNo worse for cheekpieces going on at Wolverhampton (5f) latest but could never land a blow; a further 3lb drop can only help but her draw doesn't.
(3) Carry On Aitch
3Rossa RyanPhilip McBride0-8; there were some positives last season and her second run back from a break was better than the first; perhaps 6f suits better now than 5f.
(7) Tranquillity
3Rob HornbyHughie MorrisonWell held at big prices all five starts, including two handicaps; perhaps a little better for a tongue-tie last time and this race is very weak.
(6) Struck Gold
3Darragh KeenanJohn ButlerImproved second in a 6f classified race on the Southwell AW in January and fairly treated for this if rating that form through the winner; has had a while off but needs considering.
2nd (12) Havana Heat
3Saffie OsborneCharles HillsUseful pedigree but very poor form in four 6f AW events, the latest a classified event; has been gelded but no form claims.

The only runner to perform with any credit last time was Struck Gold and that was back in January. He would be tempting if strong in the market. However, TRANQUILLITY showed a tad more when tongue tied in her latest run and she receives a very tentative vote.[Alistair Jones]

6th (3) Pearl Beauty
4Aidan KeeleyJoe TizzardFinished tailed off in both her bumpers and makes no appeal.
5th (4) Centre Back
3Charlie BennettSylvester KirkBarely sighted when 150-1 for a 7f maiden at Kempton in April.
4th (5) Miss Requinto
3Rhys ClutterbuckPatrick ChamingsFifth foal; sister to 5f-7f winner Spanish Star (RPR 99), half-sister to Italian 5f-6.7f winner Itinere; unraced dam out of 6f-winning sister to prolific 5f winner Raccoon; best watched.
3rd (7) Passion Tango
3Luke MorrisRae GuestBeaten 15l and 13l in maidens at Chelmsford (6f) and Southwell (5f); perhaps one for handicaps.
2nd (2) Another Thought
3George DowningEve Johnson HoughtonHeld up off steady fractions but still managed to get up over C&D three weeks ago, beating a last-time-out winner; could well defy a penalty in this weak a race.
1st (1) Garner
3Hollie DoyleArchie WatsonRoyal-owned when winning a 6f maiden on good ground at Nottingham last May and that form has been upheld; bought for 30,000gns out of the Charlton stable; market can guide after his layoff.

With Garner returning from a year off, this looks best left to recent C&D winner ANOTHER THOUGHT in what's likely to develop into a straight duel.[Alistair Jones]

(10) Kwiz
3William CarsonMark PattinsonVery limited and held by a couple of these on recent form.
(6) Don't Fight It
3Jack MitchellSteve WoodmanDual 5f nursery winner for Keith Dalgleish last summer; nowhere near that form for this yard on either side of wind surgery.
(9) Rewilding
3Hollie DoyleRobert CowellStruggled in three maiden/novice events last season and he was well-held fourth of nine on his handicap debut over this trip at Wolverhampton; needs more.
4th (2) Get Off Me
3Liam KeniryTom DascombeSome sign of ability in 6f/7f maidens the last twice and should make a handicapper; whether he wants 5f remains to be seen.
(8) Zing Up
3Sean LeveyTom WardShowed a little bit to start with in Ireland (5f) but never progressed and ended up over 7f; sold on for 1,000gns.
3rd (3) Missing You
3Finley MarshRichard HughesHas gone the wrong way since returning from wind surgery and cheekpieces did nothing for him last time.
1st (1) Doctor Mozart
3Saffie OsborneDavid EvansDisappointed in his hat-trick bid at Catterick (visored) after winning a 5f handicap and 5f seller in blinkers on Tapeta; still on a fair mark and has won on Polytrack; this looks a whole lot more suitable.
(7) Byefornow
3George EdderyKevin Philippart De FoyBounced back with a win over 6f here and she backed that up with a good second over 5f; same mark for this and George Eddery takes off 7lb this time.
(4) Imperiousity
3Jim CrowleyAmanda PerrettConsistency rewarded when making all in first-time cheekpieces over C&D last month; plenty to like off just 4lb higher.
2nd (5) Victors Dream
3Neil CallanMarco BottiMade a pleasing handicap debut when keeping on for second at Wolverhampton (5f) latest; the winner had the run of things; should go well.

There should be another bold show from the consistent IMPERIOUSITY (nap) who has a good draw from which to race prominently. Byefornow is the other solid option after two good runs here. Doctor Mozart and Victors Dream are other likely contenders.[Alistair Jones]

9th (9) Luna Light
4Darragh KeenanLouise AllanTailed off at a massive prices in two runs at Kempton (1m, Polytrack) for Dean Ivory and latest was in February back from 12 months off; can only be watched for new yard.
8th (11) Congresbury
3Alec VoikhanskyRichard HannonShowed clear promise in three novice events on Polytrack (7f/1m) but he's struggled in four handicaps this year and was tailed off at Kempton last time; has plenty to prove and needs to turn things around.
7th (8) Dulcet Spirit
4Kaiya FraserBrett JohnsonWon a 7f handicap here in January but that was off a mark of 58 and her form has slumped in two subsequent runs; makes no appeal.
3rd (6) Game Nation
4William CarsonBrian BarrRespectable efforts in two Bath handicaps (1m) for his new yard this spring but he's still a maiden after 11 starts and has a tough task on these terms; tongue-tie added back on AW.
5th (10) Starry Eyes
7Neil CallanBrett JohnsonFair fourth in a Wolverhampton handicap (8.6f) two weeks ago but he has a daunting task on these terms and his last win was in 2021.
(7) Proud Fairy
4Rhys ClutterbuckGary MooreImproved form when winning on handicap debut at Chelmsford (7f, Polytrack) last September; went close over C&D next time and she had an excuse on soft ground in her final run last season; still has potential but she needs to resume her progress to make an impact in this tough race on her return; yard also runs Toronado Grey.
6th (5) La Rav
9Paddy BradleyLee CarterVery useful in his prime but this 9yo is nowhere near the same force these days; got back on the scoresheet in a C&D handicap in November but that was in a Class 6 event and he was never dangerous at Kempton last month; others preferred.
4th (1) Unilateralism
4Hollie DoyleArchie WatsonShowed plenty of promise for Hugo Palmer in 2021, including a close second in a 1m handicap at Kempton (Polytrack); missed last year and now returns after 548 days off but he's still lightly raced and needs a close look dropped into a claimer for new yard.
10th (3) Toronado Grey
5Tom QueallyGary MooreLooks interesting on his win in a Class 4 handicap at Kempton (1m, Polytrack) last June but his form slumped in two subsequent runs last season; has a bit to prove back from 253 days off and he needs a major revival; new headgear.
2nd (4) Business
6Billy LoughnaneSean CurranFour-time AW winner who won by 4l in a Wolverhampton claimer (7f, Tapeta) in January and has run respectably back in two handicaps (1m/7f) this spring; looks the pick of the weights now back in a claimer and his last success was under Billy Loughnane; big player.
1st (2) Brains
7Ross CoakleyJohn ButlerEight of his ten wins have come over 1m on Polytrack and last two were in back-to-back handicaps during the winter; his form cooled in a Class 3 at Kempton in April but he's had a short break since and is a key player if he can get back near best on this switch to claimer.

Preference is for BUSINESS, who has leading claims at the weights and was an emphatic winner under Billy Loughnane in January in his only previous run in a claimer. Eight-time Polytrack winner Brains is feared most, although the lightly raced 4yo Unilateralism showed some fairly useful form in 2021 and he needs a close look on his comeback for a new yard.[David Moon]

3rd (7) Cirrus
5Saffie OsborneMilton HarrisLongstanding maiden under both codes and last of the six runners when returned to the Flat at Wolverhampton (1m4f) latest; others have more going for them.
5th (2) Rose Light
4Rob HornbyJonathan PortmanPlaced in AW maidens (1m-1m2f) for Andrew Balding and kept on well for third on her stable debut on the AW track here (1m2f); tailed off at Newbury (1m4f, good) and a hood is fitted on the back of that; could revive.
6th (6) Crazy Maisie
4Hollie DoyleMark Hoad1m2f winner on the AW; ran moderately over hurdles before returning to Flat action with a well-held effort on the AW circuit here (1m4f).
2nd (3) Rechercher
4Billy LoughnaneGeorge BakerRan well in her first two starts in cheekpieces but not last time when soft ground shouldn't have bothered her; now 0-12 and beginning to frustrate.
4th (5) Daphne May
5Tom QueallyGary MooreGoes well on the AW track here and she doubled her tally on turf with a narrow success at Bath (1m2f, soft; other win was on good to firm); respectable in defeat last time; unraced over this far, which is the nagging worry but she could still be the answer.
1st (4) Star From Afarhh
4Ross CoakleyEd WalkerCheekpieces worked initially when successful at Chelmsford (1m2f) but she's not gone on from there and now goes in no headgear; fine on fast ground but she's not that predictable.

A trappy race in which none of the six runners is convincing. DAPHNE MAY could be the answer if she can see out this longer trip, and it's unlikely that this will develop into too stern a stamina test. Rose Light may bounce back in a first-time hood.[Alistair Jones]

7th (3) Elmejor
7Luke MorrisKaren JewellAll five Flat wins have come on the AW but he regressed last year and was pulled up in his recent hurdle races.
4th (5) Angel On High
6Billy LoughnaneAdrian WintleOnly win in 18 came in January 2020; missed most of 2022 and continues below par since returning.
3rd (4) This Ones For Fred
5Saffie OsborneDavid EvansDual winner on a losing run of 11 since late 2021; having rejoined David Evans, ran quite well from the front when third of six at Wolverhampton (1m4f) a month ago; now goes in a visor and ran well the only time he sported headgear (cheekpieces); has form on fast ground.
2nd (6) Iconic Mover
5Aidan KeeleyPat PhelanThird on fast ground at Brighton (1m4f) but disappointed at Kempton over 2m latest and he stays this far; now 0-18 and others appeal more.
6th (1) Manor Park
8William CarsonBrian BarrUseful hurdler and went close to winning for a third time on the Flat when nosed out at Windsor (1m3f, soft) last time; off the same mark here and he's fine on fast ground.
5th (7) Pledge Of Peace
6Josephine GordonPhil McEnteeLongstanding maiden but it was his first run for this yard and in a visor when 5l third at Yarmouth (1m6f, good to firm) last time; that's something to build on; 1lb out of the weights.
1st (2) Mr Freedom
4Trevor WhelanSheena WestLast seen on the Flat winning on the AW circuit here (1m4f) in January, since when he's done particularly well in handicap hurdles (form figures of 1354; Cheltenham/Ascot the last twice); these conditions might on the quick side for him but that's the only negative.

Fast ground is the one nagging doubt with MR FREEDOM who has very solid claims otherwise. He won his last Flat start and has had a terrific run of form over hurdles since. Manor Park is off the same mark as when only just missing out at Windsor, while This Ones For Fred should also be on the scene.[Alistair Jones]

Info Form Odds Horse Rating Rating Weight OR Days since last run Age Jockey Trainer Comments
1st (8) Easy Equation
5Aidan KeeleyJ S MooreConsistent run of form on the AW this year, the scene for both his wins (twice over 2m at Southwell); has placed form on the turf but little margin for error off this mark.
4th (1) Noahthirtytwored
7Sean KirraneAdam WestStill going okay when falling over fences last week (has won in that discipline, together with four hurdle wins); not many chances on the Flat but well held at Chelmsford last month (1m6f); others look more likely.
(7) Smith
7Billy LoughnaneLydia RichardsProlific winner on the AW track here but sole turf success was in 2019 and he didn't show a lot at Goodwood last time; blinkers replace a visor.
(5) Shibuya Song
4Kaiya FraserRichard PhillipsPicked up for 27,000gns off Ed Walker, for whom she won a 1m4f handicap last summer off 6lb lower; unfortunate not to have won afterwards and has plenty in her favour if returning in good form.
(2) Downsman
5Neil CallanJim BoyleAfter failing to offer much over hurdles he was no match for the front two on his return to Flat action at Windsor (1m3f, soft; first-time visor); suited by that softer ground and this surface is a real worry.
2nd (4) Russian Rumour
6Rob HornbyJonathan PortmanDual-purpose performer; two years since she won on the Flat but she went close at Bath (1m6f, good to soft) last time off just 1lb lower and this faster surface won't faze her.
(3) At The Double
4Luke MorrisSir Mark Prescott BtWon three of his first five handicaps before failing to give his true running when last seen in September; remains with Sir Mark Prescott and may have more to offer as a 4yo; has been effective in cheekpieces/blinkers and now tries a visor; trip/ground fine.
3rd (6) Cherry Cola
7Rose DawesSheena WestNot that consistent but she could be called the winner some way out on her favoured fast ground at Yarmouth (1m6f) last week and would have every chance if repeating that effort under today's penalty.

Cherry Cola (second choice) and Russian Rumour have solid claims but AT THE DOUBLE probably has more to offer as a 4yo, and he returns from a holiday with his yard going great guns.[Alistair Jones]
