18:05 Carlisle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DETECTIVE has six course victories, three off higher marks, and could go well again if he takes to a first-time visor with Rhys Elliott good value for his 3lb claim. Hostelry arrives in good form after being beaten half a length at Hamilton and then Chepstow, but an added 2lb may see her settling for a place once again, while Sanditon could also go well on his handicap debut.

A chance is taken on the unexposed TAKTEEK, who is having his second run in a handicap but his first at 1m on his debut for James Owen.

18:35 Carlisle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Homestrait will have her supporters after winning by a length at Doncaster following a run of seconds, but giving 5lb to DUNKELD DREAMER looks a big ask. Sent off favourite at Beverley last time, she won by two lengths despite being hampered and although upped 7lb for that, she may have more improvement to come. Rawalpindi Express wears first-time cheekpieces for his nursery debut and is worth a market watch.

Having run creditably on all five starts, HOMESTRAIT (nap) can follow up his Doncaster maiden win by scoring from Dunkeld Dreamer.

19:05 Carlisle (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DAYDREAMA won with authority despite coming from off the pace at Pontefract on his second start and if he continues on an upward curve, the Dream Ahead colt may be good enough to give weight away to these rivals. Mystical Land looks an interesting newcomer with plenty of speed in his pedigree and he may get the better Watchdog for second.

This doesn't look the strongest of novice events and the penalised DAYDREAMA is taken to follow up his Pontefract win.

19:35 Carlisle (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Vibrant Pearl would have a big chance if recapturing the form of her first two starts. However, she was a very disappointing 11/10 favourite at Catterick most recently and has something to prove. As does the well-bred Secret Sonata, who appeals on paper but needs a big step forward from her Nottingham debut. With that in mind, PORTSOKEN looks the way to go, with improvement likely switching to turf after two encouraging efforts on Tapeta at Southwell and Newcastle.

This looks a good opportunity for VIBRANT PEARL to open her account. Portsoken looks to be the main danger.

20:10 Carlisle (Class 6) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BRAVE EMERALD came good with a dogged effort to win at Catterick last month and could be progressive enough to cope with a 5lb rise if the likely quicker ground doesn't cause issues. The well-handicapped We Still Believe seems versatile regarding the underfoot conditions and could be the biggest danger to the selection after a good second at Ayr three weeks ago. Run Of Luck and Jaminoz are other attractive propositions based on recent form.

An open-looking handicap and preference is for BRAVE EMERALD who got off the mark last time. The main danger is Run Of Luck.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Falcon Nine appeals after placed efforts at Musselburgh and Newcastle but he is still a maiden after 25 attempts and his limitations are evident. With that in mind, it could pay to focus more attention on IRV, who has proven to be effective on a stiff track such as this and he has solid credentials off 7lb lower than his last winning mark. Shahnaz is the pick of the rest.

This can go to SHAHNAZ, who ran well on her first three starts this season and was unsuited by the drop to 7f when below par last time.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
