1st (4) (11/10 -10%)Soleil D'arizona |
11/10(-10%) | (4) Soleil D'arizona 11/10, Pulled up in the Introductory Hurdle at Wetherby latest where too keen; placed on debut prior; showed useful form on flat in France; the one to beat Bled last time but had previously shaped well when second; has had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/8 0%)Jokers 'n' Clowns |
15/8(0%) | (2) Jokers 'n' Clowns 15/8, Below par second beaten 2l in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Newton Abbot latest; trainer in form; down in trip; threat 0-9 in Ireland but more encouragement on debut for new yard when second at Newton Abbot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +0%)Forcetoreckonwith |
12/1(+0%) | (1) Forcetoreckonwith 12/1, Wide trip down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby most recent; hood first time; back in trip; more to come judged on point form but may find this too sharp Point winner; pulled hard on rules debut; will need to settle better for fitting of hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (28/1 -133%)Kalize |
28/1(-133%) | (3) Kalize 28/1, In need of the experience down the field in a Mares bumper at Worcester most recent where found little for pressure; returning from long layoff; second run after wind op; more needed Well held in two bumpers in 2024 (wind surgery in between); bit to prove now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 +63%)Susiesparkle |
9/2(+63%) | (5) Susiesparkle 9/2, Ran to form 3l third in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton most recent run; 10f flat winner; must leave previous hurdle form behind 1m2f Flat winner; may have a future in this sphere but needs to improve to win this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JOKERS 'N' CLOWNS showed plenty of promise when second on her debut for these connections at Newton Abbot last week and that form gives the six-year-old a big chance here. Soleil D'arizona disappointed at Wetherby when last seen in November, but Dan Skelton's mare should not be underestimated having finished runner-up on her hurdling bow. The rest all have questions to answer, but Forcetoreckonwith is the pick of them.

Although she bled last time, SOLEIL D'ARIZONA shaped well enough the time before to suggest a race like this would be within her range.

1st (1) (9/2 -100%)Givemefive |
9/2(-100%) | (1) Givemefive 9/2, Front-running winner at Newcastle last time; up 4lb; any rain won't be a problem and leading player in a far from competitive race. Personal best when making all at Newcastle five weeks ago; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/4 +89%)Got Grey |
9/4(+89%) | (7) Got Grey 9/4, Probably not stay over 2m5f at Warwick most recent; significant rain would be a concern and recent form uninspiring but his autumn form for this top yard would make him a contender. Two wins in 2024 and excuses since; tongue-tie and Harry Skelton return today; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 +28%)Schmilsson |
13/2(+28%) | (6) Schmilsson 13/2, Slightly uneven look to his form but peak 2024 efforts would bring him firmly into calculations; cheekpieces first time; won't mind any rain around. Below par since scoring at Wetherby in October; needs to be revitalised by cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (4/1 +20%)Luttrell Lad |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Luttrell Lad 4/1, In the thick of things on his win at Taunton on penultimate start and latest Aintree seventh was fair enough too (late error didn't help); respected. Capitalised on reduced mark at Taunton and far from disgraced at Aintree; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (12/1 -20%)Oslo |
12/1(-20%) | (4) Oslo 12/1, Last month's two AW Flat runs were okay and suggest it's quite highly he'll be in some form again back hurdling in reapplied cheekpieces now; significant rain would be a worry. Often let down by his jumping; potentially well handicapped but has something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 -14%)Bluegrass |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Bluegrass 4/1, Well backed when narrow winner at Fakenham last time; 3lb rise is fair for this one-time decent Flat horse; gradually progressive hurdler is a leading contender. Enhanced good Fakenham record when scoring bravely last time; cannot be dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (28/1 -250%)Well Educated |
28/1(-250%) | (5) Well Educated 28/1, On a feasible mark if refinding peak form but needs to step up a bit on balance of latest efforts in the autumn; others appeal more. Handicapper looked in charge after two wins last May; now returns from five months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

GIVEMEFIVE had plenty in hand when scoring at Newcastle a month ago and a 4lb rise for that success may underestimate Harry Derham's five-year-old. That said, Bluegrass has won three of his last five starts and the progressive gelding should not be discounted. Luttrell Lad finished in mid-division at Aintree, but his previous Taunton win suggests that he can go well in a race of this nature.

Givemefive is respected but GOT GREY has had excuses for several below-par efforts and could be ready to strike again.

(3) (4/1 +60%)Tiny Tetley |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Tiny Tetley 4/1, In-form front-running 7yo who is up in the weights after winning two small-field handicaps; latest Taunton success seemed to represent a step up; leading claims, with any ground okay. Can front-run; won three small-field handicaps this season, including his last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 -14%)Land Genie |
4/1(-14%) | (5) Land Genie 4/1, Off since rather a tame run last time in January; bright start for Dan Skelton with a win and a second for him previously; short break might well have revived; respected. Soft-ground win in December; creditable 4th last time showed that he now needs improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +11%)Thank You Ma'am |
4/1(+11%) | (1) Thank You Ma'am 4/1, Gradually progressive front-runner who comes here in good form; bit more needed to defy top weight but going the right way. Plucky front-running stayer who's had a thoroughly commendable season under Olive Nicholls. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 -122%)Burrows Hall |
5/1(-122%) | (4) Burrows Hall 5/1, Progressing well, last time landing his third win on the spin; 5lb rise for that Doncaster success and leading player here; another front-runner. Made all last three races, with a last-flight mistake latest; up another 5lb but on a roll. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 +33%)An Tailliur |
6/1(+33%) | (2) An Tailliur 6/1, On a good mark if he could revive but was again below-par at Newbury latest and has generally been out of form; off a short break now; others preferred. Missed last season and has not fired this term but he's now 14lb below his peak mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/1 -27%)High Game Royal |
7/1(-27%) | (6) High Game Royal 7/1, Ran to form when second at Bangor latest; rain wouldn't be an issue but needs to pull out a bit more to win this. Two close 2nds in the autumn and back-to-form 2nd latest; should be seriously involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (15/2 +25%)Bold Recruit |
15/2(+25%) | (7) Bold Recruit 15/2, Creditable efforts sent hurdling this season, including latest third to progressive Burrows Hall on handicap debut at Doncaster; lightly raced in this sphere; bit more needed here. Fair 3rd to Burrows Hall on h'cap debut at Doncaster (3m, good) but needs markedly better. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

BURROWS HALL arrives here on the back of a hat-trick in recent months and the progressive eight-year-old tops the shortlist, despite a 5lb rise for the latest of those victories. The consistent Thank You Ma'am has to be noted returning to handicap company after his Doncaster win last month, while Land Genie edges out High Game Royal and Bold Recruit to be best of the rest.

This looks competitive, including with regard to who will make the running, but TINY TETLEY is narrowly preferred to Burrows Hall.

(2) (4/1 +43%)Numitor |
4/1(+43%) | (2) Numitor 4/1, Won this equivalent race (slightly different title then) in 2024; three good wins since, latest at Ascot; return to this trip is fine; should run well but 4lb rise since latest makes this harder. Won this last year; career-high mark after 5lb rise for Ascot but he did win well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (9/2 +63%)Le Milos |
9/2(+63%) | (3) Le Milos 9/2, Well- backed when scoring at Warwick three starts back; not so good twice since but this is less competitive than either of those and big player for the Skeltons on that Warwick form. Won a qualifier for this in Feb and subsequent defeats have come against younger rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (5/1 +0%)The Flier Begley |
5/1(+0%) | (8) The Flier Begley 5/1, Creditable runs here either side of picking up a valuable prize at Market Rasen in January; bit more needed on balance here. Beaten about 10l behind Dubai Days here last time and he's off an untouched mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (6/1 +40%)Flic Ou Voyou |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Flic Ou Voyou 6/1, Back from midwinter break with decisive win at Newcastle last time; this harder up 9lb though; anything slower than good to soft would be a worry. Up 9lb for winning so well at Newcastle last time but he's on top of his game again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (6/1 +8%)Dubai Days |
6/1(+8%) | (6) Dubai Days 6/1, Second in this equivalent race (slightly different title) last year; off after until C&D win in February and then ran well upped in trip latest; on a fair mark; bold show looks likely. C&D winner before a second over 3m at Carlisle; better at this trip and in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (15/2 +17%)Glynn |
15/2(+17%) | (4) Glynn 15/2, Tough task/possibly in need of a break when below-par latest in November; did well belatedly sent chasing earlier in 2024; on a fair mark; claims for sure resuming in this valuable race. Could be well-in with Numitor; tough task last time and could feature back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (10/1 -54%)The Widdow Maker |
10/1(-54%) | (9) The Widdow Maker 10/1, Back chasing when a well-backed winner of four-runner race at Exeter last time; probably not the force of old (missing for two years) but 2lb rise since last time is fair and not ruled out. All out to win at Exeter but only 2lb higher and historically well handicapped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (14/1 -300%)Eldorado Allen |
14/1(-300%) | (1) Eldorado Allen 14/1, Possible to make excuses for latest two of three below-par runs (bad mistake last time and tough task time before); strong claims on December third at Cheltenham off 7lb lower now. The season started well but his form has cooled and now has to stage a revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (20/1 -43%)Spyglass Hill |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Spyglass Hill 20/1, On a good mark on old form while he was a hunter chase winner here (2m6f) last winter; seemingly back to form with latest second in four-runner Exeter race; respected. Perhaps unfortunate not to beat The Widdow Maker at Exeter as he made a bad mistake. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Although 13lb higher than when landing the corresponding event in 2024, NUMITOR looked better than ever when pulling clear to score at Ascot last month. Heather Main's charge has now won three of his last four starts and, given his liking for the forecast conditions, further success could await. The Flier Begley (third) is only 3lb better off with Dubai Days, who beat him by the best part of 10 lengths over C&D in February and there aren't any obvious reasons that form should be reversed. Eldorado Allen can fare best of the remainder.

The suggestion is GLYNN who looks well in with Numitor and he's had a break since predictably struggling in a Grade 2 last time.

(1) (7/4 -27%)Duke Of Deception |
7/4(-27%) | (1) Duke Of Deception 7/4, Well backed beaten 2l off 117 over 3m4f here last time; that form franked; down in trip; battling qualities a concern but strong claims on form Won smoothly on soft in this race last year; 2nd on good over 3m5f/3m4f on last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +23%)Good Work |
5/1(+23%) | (3) Good Work 5/1, Well treated at weights when scored by 2l off 108 at Uttoxeter three starts back; fourth beaten 29l off 110 last time where let down by jumping; longer trip a plus; in the mix Finally off the mark in January; first time since 2021 that's he's not had his tongue tied. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 +0%)Impatient |
6/1(+0%) | (2) Impatient 6/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Southwell latest when tiring; not proven trip; top jockey back on board; dangerous if allowed to dictate Won at Ffos Las (3m, soft) in November; rallying to challenge when he fell at Southwell. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

DUKE OF DECEPTION arrives following a brace of runner-up efforts and although 2lb higher, the eight-year-old can go one place better now afforded an ease in grade. Safe Destination remains in excellent form and should be thereabouts, even though he perhaps requires some assistance from the handicapper now. Impatient was well in contention when coming to grief two from home at Southwell and will be a threat if none the worse for that tumble.

While all have possibilities, SAFE DESTINATION with his excellent record this season has to top the list from Duke Of Deception.

(2) (7/4 +73%)Born In The West |
7/4(+73%) | (2) Born In The West 7/4, Travelled well when scored by 1 1/4l off 96 over 2m3f at Catterick penultimate start; second beaten 3l off 100 last time out-battled late having looked winner; trainer in form; may contend Consistent in handicaps and appeared to get outstayed by the winner over 3m3f last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 +17%)Mahler Moon |
11/4(+17%) | (3) Mahler Moon 11/4, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 98 at Newbury last time; that strong form; not fully exposed at 3m; threat Appreciated the return to 3m at Newbury and still nicely handicapped off 4lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 +0%)Queens Venture |
11/4(+0%) | (1) Queens Venture 11/4, Something amiss fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Ludlow latest where not given a hard time; up in trip; top jockey back on board; good ground suits; good mark on autumn form; big player Dual handicap winner; may have needed the run last time and she's back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (8/1 -100%)Star Vantage |
8/1(-100%) | (5) Star Vantage 8/1, Well backed beaten a neck off 89 over 3m3f at Sedgefield last time just out-battled late; maiden for a reason; usually held up; down in trip; squeak Good run in a Class 2 before seemingly outstayed over 3m3f at Sedgefield; can go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/1 -100%)Elusiveness |
9/1(-100%) | (4) Elusiveness 9/1, Bit in hand landing a handicap by a length off 92 over 2m5f at Ludlow last time; up in trip; steadily progressive; could figure in tight contest 7lb higher this afternoon but this is only her 12th start and clearly on the upgrade. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Recent Newbury winner Mahler Moon should be a key player off just 4lb higher and were it not for his tendency to jump right, he would be a solid option. However, it may be worth honing in on BORN IN THE WEST, who has bags of scope as a stayer and could be tough to reel in if allowed to dominate on the front end. The hat-trick seeking Elusiveness is another shortlisted contender, despite a 7lb rise for her latest success.

A tight race. MAHLER MOON still looks well treated off only a 4lb higher mark than when winning at Newbury.

(2) (10/3 +26%)Captain Ivan |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Captain Ivan 10/3, Ideally suited by trip when scored by 1 1/2l off 104 over 2m3f at Market Rasen penultimate start; game effort over sharp enough 2m last time; well treated on old form; strong claims Recaptured form for new yard back from absence; still well treated; good claims. |

(5) (7/2 -27%)The Paddy Pie |
7/2(-27%) | (5) The Paddy Pie 7/2, Bit in hand landing a handicap by a length off 94 over 2m5f at Sedgefield last time; thriving at present; bold jumper; threat Rekindled enthusiasm this winter, completing hat-trick latest; another win on the cards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +8%)Catchim |
6/1(+8%) | (3) Catchim 6/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Southwell latest where needed run; form of summer hurdles win franked; likely improver Winning hurdle debut last June; pulled up on handicap/chase debut last month. |

(1) (6/1 +25%)Artic Row |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Artic Row 6/1, Looked unsuited by undulating track comfortably held in a handicap chase at Carlisle last time; cheekpieces first time; usually held up; bit to find Below best on last two starts and adding cheekpieces shows something needs to change. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 +25%)Kings Justice |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Kings Justice 9/1, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Sedgefield latest when looked likely winner; may contend if in the same form here Consistent last winter; mixed this time round but on the premises when fell 2 out latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 +22%)Red Hugh |
14/1(+22%) | (4) Red Hugh 14/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Worcester latest; generally out of form; not proven trip; bit to find switched to fences Won Irish point/2m7f maiden hurdle; modest handicap debut; off since August; chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Haydock has been a happy hunting ground for Sue Smith over the years and this could be another good piece of placement by her yard as THE PADDY PIE bids to supplement his resurgent recent form. The veteran has won four of his last five starts and, with conditions ideal, this could be well within his reach from a still workable rating. Captain Ivan and Special Dragon are the main contenders to fill the runner-up slot.

Captain Ivan has a good form chance but THE PADDY PIE (nap) can extend his winning run. Kings Justice is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
