The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

OCTOBER HILL hasn't quite gone on as expected on both starts in handicap company, but the drop back in trip combined with a first-time tongue-tie gives David Pipe's mare the ideal opportunity to shed the maiden tag. Queen Maeve was a beaten favourite at Hereford on her first start in the UK but is capable of better, while Caterpillar Girl may well have benefited from a break and she completes the shortlist.

This might not take much winning and SILVEREEN gets the vote in the hope she can build on her hurdles debut now back on better ground.

3/1(-33%) | (3) Gris Majeur 3/1, Ran to form beaten 3l off this mark at Taunton last time; usually held up; returning from a break; effective 2m-3m2f, acts on any ground; should go well. Won in October and competitive off this mark since; can go well fresh & looks a key player. |

|PU| (4) (8/1 -100%)The Winslow Boy |
8/1(-100%) | (4) The Winslow Boy 8/1, Didn't enjoy track when pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; still early days over fences, must bounce back. Fair start over fences; pulled up after sprawling latest; competitive with clear round. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GRIS MAJEUR won over C&D in October before producing solid efforts in defeat over longer trips at Hereford and Taunton. Drying conditions will certainly suit the nine-year-old, who gets the vote at the expense of Batwomen. Neil Mulholland's mare is entitled to improve following a wind operation and would be a threat if repeating the level of her Cheltenham performance in December. Bond Broker appears best of the remainder.

The solid play looks to be GRIS MAJEUR, who can get the job done fresh and remains on a competitive mark.

1st (1) (13/8 +0%)Fouroneohfever |
13/8(+0%) | (1) Fouroneohfever 13/8, Bit below previous best when fourth beaten 18l in a maiden hurdle at Newbury latest; effective 2m on soft and good to soft; possible improver now handicapping as he's useful on the Flat. Handicap newcomer whose Flat form makes this opening hurdle mark look dangerous. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

18/5(-8%) | (5) Knighton 18/5, Improved again when fourth beaten 7l in a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen latest; effective 2m, acts on soft; progressive in maidens, opening mark fair. Hood discarded but he brings potential to this handicap debut and warrants respect. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (2) (66/1 -450%)Razdan |
66/1(-450%) | (2) Razdan 66/1, Again refused to race in a handicap at Leopardstown latest; effective 2m-2m3f on a sound surface over hurdles; bit to prove after recent attitude issues although no stalls might actually help. Maiden hurdle winner; refused both Flat starts when last seen in October; stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Fouroneohfever is yet to fulfil the promise shown on the level after being switched to hurdling at the start of the year, although an opening mark of 109 may underestimate Ben Pauling's charge. Three Pikes is likely to appreciate dropping back in trip on his return to action, but the vote goes to KNIGHTON. Having improved with each appearance against his own age group, it wouldn't be a surprise if the four-year-old made a successful handicap debut.

Three handicap newcomers temper confidence but GIFTED ANGEL can get back on the scoresheet.

1st (3) (13/8 +46%)Rumoursareflying |
13/8(+46%) | (3) Rumoursareflying 13/8, Went clear, made too much use of when fourth beaten 5l in a handicap chase at Doncaster latest; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; can go well in this small field. 1-1 here, that win coming over C&D on penultimate start; firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/4 +8%)Supreme George |
11/4(+8%) | (4) Supreme George 11/4, Ran to form when third at Catterick latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m, may get bit further, best on a sound surface; progressive over fences, can again go well. Wind surgery sent him on a roll, a win over C&D triggering a hat-trick; solid third latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 -43%)Tax For Max |
5/2(-43%) | (2) Tax For Max 5/2, Travelled, ran to form but possibly outstayed late up in trip when second beaten 12l in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; effective 2m on sound surface; drop in trip very much in his favour. 2nd at the start of the month; back in trip and also needs considering off career-low mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 -65%)Uncle Phil |
11/2(-65%) | (1) Uncle Phil 11/2, Best form since 2024 when 11l third in a handicap chase at Hereford most recent run; enjoys making it; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; chance if building on latest. Well handicapped and encouraging third latest; big danger if he builds on that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A small but competitive affair in which marginal preference is for UNCLE PHIL. A host of below-par efforts have seen Chester Williams' gelding tumble down the ratings, but there were signs of encouragement at Hereford last time. He's afforded an ease in class and, dropped another 2lb, he could take a step forward. Supreme George's winning run came to an end at Sedgefield, but he's more reliable than most. Tax For Max edges out Rumoursareflying to be next best.

Impossible to rule any of these out but RUMOURSAREFLYING defends a 1-1 record here and can come out best in a tight contest.

Off since December but unexposed and respected if giving himself a chance to stay new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/2 +44%)Krak |
9/2(+44%) | (1) Krak 9/2, Made too much use of, may have found ground too fast when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kempton most recent; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, suited by plenty of cut; yet to match Irish form for current yard. Yet to get going for this yard but this is a significant drop in grade; far from ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (6/1 +25%)Stoner's Choice |
6/1(+25%) | (4) Stoner's Choice 6/1, Found ground too soft when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Windsor latest; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f on decent ground; bit in and out of late. Well-handicapped veteran whose latest seventh at Windsor is working out; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (13/2 -18%)Byzantium |
13/2(-18%) | (6) Byzantium 13/2, Well held up in grade, might have needed run when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle at Ascot latest; returning from a break; effective at around 2m3f-2m6f on good; summer form has worked out and ground in his favour here. Likes a sound surface; shaped okay when last seen; can race freely but considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (7/1 -56%)Windsor Blue |
7/1(-56%) | (8) Windsor Blue 7/1, Improved, strong at finish when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off a 8lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; effective at 2m5f, acts on good; likes this C&D and should go well again. Big improvement when scoring at 20-1 (C&D, soft) latest; up 8lb but she's unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/2 -7%)Sunshine Diamond |
15/2(-7%) | (3) Sunshine Diamond 15/2, Mistakes, found ground too soft when fourth beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen latest; effective at 3m-3m2f, acts on good; fair mark on novice form and can bounce back on drier ground here. Stays much further and should be suited by this drying ground; expect him to go forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (8/1 +0%)Royal Way |
8/1(+0%) | (7) Royal Way 8/1, Ran to current form in new headgear combo when 17l third in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell most recent run; effective at 2m-2m5f, acts on heavy and good; back in form, has dropped to attractive mark. 2-2 here; excuses latest and should make his presence felt back up in trip; tongue-tie off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (22/1 +21%)Golden Glance |
22/1(+21%) | (9) Golden Glance 22/1, Mistakes, needed run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby latest; off a short-break; effective 2m4f, acts on heavy and good; consistent before layoff, needs to prove ability remains. Tailed off on her return from a 617-day absence at Wetherby (about 2m5f, soft) in December. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Alan King has been among the winners of late and he could gain further success courtesy of DON'T MIND IF I DO. A beaten favourite three times since scoring at Wincanton in December 2024, his pedigree suggests this longer trip will suit and an ease in grade is no bad thing either. Windsor Blue benefited from a drop in class to win over C&D. She merits respect but is in deeper this time around and it might be that Sunshine Diamond poses a bigger threat.

All bar one come with a recommendation but the vote goes to well-treated 11yo STONER'S CHOICE (nap), who contested a hot race last time.

10/1(-18%) | (3) Guy 10/1, Weakened quickly in a point for novice riders at Cocklebarrow latest; effective 2m-2m6f, wants sound surface; once a fair handicapper and this trip on drying ground should be fine. Not disgraced in January hunter chase; beaten 20l in latest point but he's not ruled out. |

Hasn't got going in three starts for this yard (3m) but the drop back in trip might help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GABORIOT didn't get past the fourth fence at Catterick having been sent off an odds-on favourite, but he can reward those who keep the faith. The 10-year-old managed to claim silver in the Grand Sefton as recently as November and if anywhere near that level, he's likely to take all the beating. Killer Clown holds the edge on these terms but he hasn't been seen under Rules for quite some time now, while similar comments apply to Galileo Silver. Guy is also noted.

It could be worth siding with MISSED TEE, who staged a revival at Stratford last week.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
