The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HASHTAGNOTIONS made it two wins from his last three starts at Beverley last time and now takes a step up in distance. The son of Mehmas is on the improve and this looks another good opportunity. The Pug struck by a neck in a classified stakes race at Ffos Las last month and is an interesting contender on his first outing for the Micky Hammond stable. Heartened is another to watch out for.

Hashtagnotions is second choice but HEARTENED is selected to follow up her C&D win following a 2lb rise in the weights.

17:30 Newcastle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Khangai outran his odds of 25/1 to hit the woodwork at Doncaster in July and has to be respected on his return from a break. Billy Bathgate has been thereabouts on each of his last three starts and needs considering, but NAVID gets the nod. The son of Sir Percy finished a well-held third in a warmer event at Chester latest and takes a drop in grade. The application of first-time blinkers may bring out the improvement required to strike.

Khangai has been in good form but BILLY BATHGATE won over this C&D in May and is taken to notch his third win of the year.

18:00 Newcastle (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HELLO GOODBYE has filled the runner-up spot on two of her three starts so far, most recently over 7f at Southwell, and this drop in trip looks a good move. With Silvestre De Sousa booked, she will prove hard to beat. Eliza Bennet was beaten by her sole rival at Kempton at the start of the month, but has to be respected. Any market confidence behind newcomer Polka would be interesting.

A chance is taken on ENCORE taking a step forward from her debut, with Hello Goodbye next on the list.

18:30 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Greenness blighted GOLDEN CONQUEROR's debut run at Kempton, where he was slightly bumped at the start before being hampered on the bend and in danger of finishing tailed off. However, the son of Starspangledbanner, a 200,000gns breeze-up purchase, caught the eye when rallying towards the finish. He did well to finish fifth and should be a great deal wiser. Skiathos has to be of interest debuting for a yard with an excellent strike-rate with juveniles. Mr Wonka is the pick of the rest.

Skiathos and Mr Wonka are respected but GOLDEN CONQUEROR was quite eyecatching on his Kempton AW debut.

19:00 Newcastle (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SMARTANCK qualified for a mark of 60 prior to making a winning debut in a nursery over 7f at Wolverhampton last week. Pushed out to hold a few higher-rated opponents at bay in that race, a 6lb penalty looks manageable in this weaker event. Fanjove is the most obvious danger to the selection after his second-placed finish off 1lb lower at Chelmsford 12 days ago. Moo Deng and the class-dropping Popty Ping hold solid place claims.

Smartanck is the solid option but there are possible improvers lurking and THANOS has to fall into that category.

19:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Second Fiddle is intriguing after making a winning debut for new connections at Hamilton last week. She escapes a penalty for winning an apprentice handicap that day and must be respected, but she finished last on her only previous start on the all-weather when trained in Ireland and, with that in mind, TEES GEORGE is preferred after a second-placed finish in a deeper race over C&D 11 days ago. Misemerald and Travis complete the shortlist.

This can go to SECOND FIDDLE who is unpenalised for her recent Hamilton win on her stable debut.

20:00 Newcastle (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PENELOPE VALENTINE bounced back in no uncertain terms when bolting up at Wolverhampton. She was having only her second outing for James Owen's yard and her first start in a visor, so the Blue Point filly could have more to offer. Elettaria won nicely over C&D in between mediocre efforts at Beverley and could prove competitive, while Woodrafff could also land a blow.

Preference is for PENELOPE VALENTINE (nap) who still looks to be on a handy mark under a 6lb penalty for her Lingfield win.

20:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

INVITORIO's recent placed efforts here suggest he will be winning off his current mark soon. Ruth Carr's charge failed to get a clear run when finishing a close second in a higher grade sprint on his penultimate outing and a repeat effort could be good enough in this company. Carlisle runner-up Baby Rover returns to the all-weather with a shout, while Pit Boss is worth a second look.

Baby Rover (second choice) can continue to give her running but PIT BOSS shaped well here on his AW debut and can get off the mark.
