1st (2) (11/10 +12%)Ballin Bay |
11/10(+12%) | (2) Ballin Bay 11/10, Did it easily and improved again over favoured C&D suited by positive ride landing a handicap by 14l off a 5lb lower mark here last time; enjoys making it; effective 3m-3m2f, acts on soft, good; progressive, form franked and potentially thrown in back over fences. He can have a big say if transferring his recent strong hurdle form here back to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 -10%)Enjoy D'allen |
11/4(-10%) | (1) Enjoy D'allen 11/4, Returned to form allowed easy lead landing a handicap by 7 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Plumpton last time; trainer in form; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f-3m5f, acts on any; back in form, thrown in on old Irish form. 12yo who has won three times this season, the latest comfortably at Plumpton last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/4 -13%)Asa |
9/4(-13%) | (3) Asa 9/4, Built on recent revival to repeat last year's success landing a handicap by 2l off a 2lb lower mark at Catterick last time; effective 3m, acts on soft and good; back in form. Made it 3-6 over fences when winning at Catterick; could have more to offer in this sphere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Enjoy D'allen made virtually every yard of the running to return to winning ways at Plumpton last month and he has to be respected for the in-form Neil King stable. Asa also got her head back in front when scoring at Catterick, but it's hard to get away from BALLIN BAY. Rebecca Menzies' gelding easily completed a double over the smaller obstacles here on his most recent start and can transfer that form to fences.

Preference is for BALLIN BAY, who has thrived over hurdles here of late and is taken to make a winning return to fences.

1st (5) (8/11 +47%)Cosmic Soul |
8/11(+47%) | (5) Cosmic Soul 8/11, Improved suited by the decent ground landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off this mark here last time; effective 14-16f on sound surface; in good form in both codes, hurdles mark could still be generous; big chance if stamina holds up. Escapes a penalty for last week's win here and he could be tough to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (11/2 +21%)Laddie Cooper Mia |
11/2(+21%) | (10) Laddie Cooper Mia 11/2, Mistakes, every chance beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle last time; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2m, acts on good; inconsistent. 0-11 but some okay form for this yard and she's not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (14/1 -180%)De Deli Counter |
14/1(-180%) | (1) De Deli Counter 14/1, Pestered on front end up in trip and didn't get home, may have found ground on the soft side comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fakenham last time; effective 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft; still early days in handicaps and could bounce back with conditions to suit. Close second last month and could have a big part to play now back on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 +0%)Long Time Listener |
50/1(+0%) | (8) Long Time Listener 50/1, Up in trip, may not have stayed down the field in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle most recent; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; effective 2m; yet to build on promising debut. The forecast good ground could be a positive but a major turnaround is necessary. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (50/1 -79%)Mr Globalist |
50/1(-79%) | (11) Mr Globalist 50/1, Mistakes, ran to form beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap hurdle here last time; off a short-break; suited by distances around 2m, likes sound surface, has run reasonably well on soft; exposed maiden, mark getting more workable. The odd fair run last year but this longstanding maiden needs to improve on those efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 -38%)Expelliarmus |
11/1(-38%) | (3) Expelliarmus 11/1, Every chance, ran to form, not given a hard time when beaten 14l third in a handicap hurdle here most recent run; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts with cut; good mark on Irish form but in moderate form. Maiden but continues to drop down the weights and stable is in fine form on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (33/1 -65%)Kampari |
33/1(-65%) | (9) Kampari 33/1, Outpaced, looked in need of stiffer test 35l third in a maiden hurdle at Southwell most recent run; longer trip could suit on handicap debut but plenty to prove. He's shown little but has very lowly opening mark and trainer's last two runners have won. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (8/1 +33%)Knockeranna Rose |
8/1(+33%) | (6) Knockeranna Rose 8/1, Too much to do ridden to see out the trip but ran to form on handicap debut when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle latest; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on soft and good; unexposed. 4th on handicap debut at Carlisle and could build on that run now back on a better surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (18/1 +10%)My My My Delilah |
18/1(+10%) | (2) My My My Delilah 18/1, Unseated in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle latest when beaten; tongue-tie first time; effective 2m, acts on soft, good; yet to match bumper form, needs more in handicaps. Second in two bumpers but has struggled in her first two handicaps; a tongue-tie goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (14/1 -100%)Nevershedatear |
14/1(-100%) | (7) Nevershedatear 14/1, Outpaced, continued in poor form well beaten in a novice hurdle at Carlisle latest; point winner may need this bit further over hurdles. Well beaten on her three hurdle starts but this point winner has a basement opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (28/1 -133%)Venturevango |
28/1(-133%) | (4) Venturevango 28/1, No obvious excuse when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse most recent; off a short-break; likely to need more time, yet to show anything. One to watch in the betting on her stable debut but she achieved very little in Ireland. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Cosmic Soul went in by just over a length over 2m1f here recently and is sure to attract plenty of support, but the step up in trip poses question marks. With that in mind, DE DELI COUNTER gets the vote. Mark Walford's charge hit the woodwork over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen in February and if running to that level of form again, he could prove tough to beat. Expelliarmus can't be ruled out either.

It's hard to look away from COSMIC SOUL, who escapes a penalty for last week's win here.

1st (3) (13/8 +0%)Desertmore News |
13/8(+0%) | (3) Desertmore News 13/8, Far too free up in class down the field in Dovecote Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) at Kempton most recent; given fine ride when winning on debut; effective at 2m on good to soft; could bounce back down in class. Impressive on hurdle debut at Southwell and it was a Grade 2 in which he tailed off latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1/1 +47%)A King Of Magic |
1/1(+47%) | (1) A King Of Magic 1/1, Aided by leaders getting racing early when winning a maiden hurdle at Taunton by a neck last time; effective 2m, acts on heavy and good to soft; bumper form franked at Graded level over hurdles, more to come over hurdles, likely get bit further. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 +77%)Passing Diamond |
13/2(+77%) | (6) Passing Diamond 13/2, Outpaced but improved for debut experience 27l third in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle most recent run; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good; Irish bumper form franked, more to come but point winner may be one for staying trips in time. Two point wins but soundly beaten on both hurdle starts and he may be one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (250/1 -25%)Millford Hill |
250/1(-25%) | (5) Millford Hill 250/1, Never in the race, needed run on hurdle debut down the field in a novice hurdle at Newcastle most recent; point winner with plenty to prove under rules. Point winner but tailed off at 200-1 on recent hurdle debut when back from a long absence. |

Won here on rules debut; underwhelming at Newcastle since but not written off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A King Of Magic got up in the final strides to get off the mark at Taunton last month and should mount a bold bid to follow up, but he might find it tough to give his penalty away to PASSING DIAMOND. Ben Haslam's six-year-old finished behind a subsequent winner and Willie Mullins' hot favourite when third at Carlisle and is likely to have more to offer. Buddah Castle is another to watch out for.

Preference is for DESERTMORE NEWS who was impressive on his hurdle debut at Southwell last month. A King Of Magic is the danger.

3/1(+33%) | (1) Scudamore 3/1, 28l third in a handicap hurdle at Warwick most recent run where unsuited by soft ground; effective 2-3m, wants decent ground; generally consistent over hurdles, well treated on old form and has proven he retains his ability. C&D runner-up last month and subsequent below-par run can be excused by the soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/2 -87%)Dillarchie |
7/2(-87%) | (5) Dillarchie 7/2, Ran to form landing a handicap by a length off a 3lb lower mark at Catterick last time; effective 3m+, acts on good to soft; back in form, still on workable mark. Won at Catterick last month; she's gone up just 3lb and could be bang there once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +33%)Wee Alki |
6/1(+33%) | (3) Wee Alki 6/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh latest where never jumped or travelled; suited by 3m, acts on good to soft, good; lost form of late but back on last winning mark and quicker ground will suit. Has been struggling but on testing ground; today's conditions are much more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (17/2 +15%)Community Rebel |

17/2(+74%) | (8) Fancy Nancy Pants 17/2, Continued in poor form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Catterick last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good to soft; all to prove. 40-1 third of 16 at Wetherby in December but unable to reproduce that form; now 0-13. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +13%)Smart Bucks |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Smart Bucks 14/1, No obvious excuse well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Catterick latest; visor first time; effective at 3m; inconsistent; remains a maiden. 0-13 and tailed off on last two runs; however, the visor may help; not ruled out each-way. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DILLARCHIE was able to build on a couple of creditable efforts, including a C&D third, to score at Catterick last month. Joanne Foster's charge had race-favourite It's Maisy (fourth) well in arrears and a 4lb swing in the weights shouldn't be enough to see that form reversed. Scudamore continues to run well in defeat, though, and he is arguably the bigger threat.

The return to better ground could be a major positive for WEE ALKI, who runs off his last winning mark. Scudamore is second choice.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 -83%)El Muchacho |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (50/1 +0%)Quickasican |
50/1(+0%) | (6) Quickasican 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Market Rasen latest in first time headgear; fair mark on old form but needs to prove ability remains after lay off. Returned last April from a long absence and has struggled. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIEGE OF ACRES wasn't the most fluent on his chasing bow at Musselburgh but Donald McCain's five-year-old ought to have learned plenty for that and is, perhaps crucially, open to further improvement than all of these. Veteran Valence D'Aumont drops in class having been well held at Newcastle latest and is considered, while Benefit Ben might do better back over the larger obstacles.

Course specialist TOM CREEN (nap) was pulled up last time but that was his first visit to Market Rasen and he's taken to bounce back.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/1 -57%)King Sacre |
11/1(-57%) | (6) King Sacre 11/1, Improved on final qualifying run comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time; usually held up; effective at 2m, acts on heavy, good; improvement needed again to defy opening mark. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Most of these have a little to prove so it might be worth taking a chance on KING SACRE. Nigel Hawke's gelding displayed only moderate promise in bumpers/maiden hurdles, but he's related to a trio of winners, including the useful Emir Sacree, and could prove to be better than an opening mark of 100. Ground conditions might have counted against Lights Go Down at Ayr but he can't be underestimated, and nor can Telhimlisten, who was in good form when last seen over a year ago.

Last year's winner KLITSCHKO is 2lb lower this time around and ran an encouraging race in January on his last completed start.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
