1st (3) Heia (0.29/1 +42%)
Heia

0.29/1(+42%)
(3) Heia 0.29/1, Useful hurdler. 9/1, creditable seventh of 18 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (19.1f, good to soft) 35 days ago. Makes chase debut. Yard in good form. Obvious player.
By some way the best of these over hurdles and a good round of jumping should suffice.

2nd (1) Butterflyvespiere (9/1 +10%)
Butterflyvespiere

9/1(+10%)
(1) Butterflyvespiere 9/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Minor promise in couple of chase starts earlier this spring with view to handicaps moving forward. However, well beaten back over hurdles in handicap at Punchestown (19.8f) in April and best watched here.
Dual hurdles winner needs to improve plenty on the form of her first two chase starts.

3rd (5) Return To Base (4.5/1 +0%)
Return To Base

4.5/1(+0%)
(5) Return To Base 4.5/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 6/1, career best when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (17.4f, good to soft) 29 days ago, pushed out. Needs to jump with a lot more conviction on this second stint over fences.
Dual winner is rated 15lb lower than Heia over hurdles; jumped poorly both chases.

Hope Des Blins

14/1(-180%)
(4) Hope Des Blins 14/1, Fairly useful chaser. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. Bit below form fourth of 14 in novice chase at Limerick (19.7f, good to soft, 8/1) 9 days ago. Down in trip and in the mix here.
Has had jumping issues but should be fitter after her first run of the year at Limerick.
5th
5th (2) Caddy Shack (150/1 -200%)
Caddy Shack

150/1(-200%)
(2) Caddy Shack 150/1, One win from 33 NH runs. Seventeen runs since last win in 2019. Fourth of 5 in minor event chase at Naas (16f, soft, 250/1) 146 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere.
Modest locally-trained mare will need mishaps from the others to have any chance.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HEIA should prove hard to beat on her chasing debut if adapting to the larger obstacles. Easily the best of these over hurdles, the Willie Mullins-trained mare ran well at both the Fairyhouse and Punchestown festivals. Still relatively fresh, after just the two starts since last July, the six-year-old has much in her favour here. Return To Base didn't show a great deal in two runs over fences last year but should be capable of better. A winner over hurdles on her most recent start, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare has been found a nice opportunity in this smaller field. Hope Des Blins needs to improve to beat the principals but has plenty of point-to-point and chasing experience which should stand to her in this company.

HEIA has built up a solid record in competitive big-field handicaps over hurdles for her powerful stable and this looks a good opportunity for her to get her chase career off to the perfect start. Hope des Blins and Return To Base can do battle for the forecast spot.

The bookmakers will take no chances with HEIA, by some way the best of these over hurdles, and a decent round of jumping should suffice
