(1) (1/6 +0%)Gamesters Guy |
1/6(+0%) | (1) Gamesters Guy 1/6, Keen and jumping went to pieces late when eased, comfortably held in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective over 2 1/2-3m and generally consistent, but may do better if brushing up on his jumping. Beat his sole rival at Doncaster on penultimate start; sets the standard in another match. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (4/1 +0%)I Am Max |
4/1(+0%) | (2) I Am Max 4/1, Ran to form but never threatened when beaten 9l in a handicap chase here last time. Effective up to 3m, but he remains unreliable. Respectable effort at Wetherby last time; has a much lower rating than his sole rival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

GAMESTERS GUY finished last of five on his first handicap start over fences at Windsor, but beat smart rival Moon Rocket prior at Doncaster. If the seven-year-old can reproduce that level of form, he may prove a tough nut to crack. I Am Max could only manage fifth over 3m here over Christmas and will need to pull out more if he wants to put it up to the selection.

Judged on ratings, GAMESTERS GUY looks set to record a second success in a match race this season.

(2) (13/8 +0%)Bossman Jack |
13/8(+0%) | (2) Bossman Jack 13/8, Improved from his debut when beating a useful yardstick to win a novice hurdle at Ffos Las by 2l last time. Debut form working out very well. Effective at 2m, acts on S and GS, should get further and can defy a penalty. Came clear with useful yardstick to win at Ffos Las; firmly in calculations under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (15/8 +0%)Swindon Village |
15/8(+0%) | (3) Swindon Village 15/8, Was a bit free and tired late on when stepped up in trip, but still ran to form when 13l third in a novice hurdle at Windsor. Effective at 2m4f, acts on S, with improvement likely in handicaps. Won over 2m4f at Leicester then didn't see out 3m at Windsor; can be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (22/1 +0%)Jonny Setaside |
22/1(+0%) | (6) Jonny Setaside 22/1, 45,000 euros Dink gelding whose dam was unraced. Yard can get them ready first time so worth a check in the betting. Makes debut in a hot novice but with trainer in excellent form; could give a good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 +0%)Forever Louie |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Forever Louie 25/1, Improved from his debut when second, beaten 4l, in a bumper at Musselburgh latest. Returns from a short break, is effective at 2m, acts on GS and may find this longer trip suitable on hurdle debut. Runner-up in Musselburgh bumper but needs sizeable step forward in this useful contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (40/1 +0%)Passing Diamond |
40/1(+0%) | (9) Passing Diamond 40/1, Outpaced and comfortably held on a modest debut in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last time, having needed the run. Returns from a short break and, with Irish bumper form franked, could build on that effort. Two-time Irish point winner but tailed off on hurdle/stable debut at Hereford in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (80/1 +0%)Nordic Gift |
80/1(+0%) | (8) Nordic Gift 80/1, Frozen Fire gelding. Dam was poor in points. Likely to need this initial experience. 2nd foal; dam failed to complete in three points; probably best watched on belated debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (200/1 +0%)Au Plaisir |
200/1(+0%) | (4) Au Plaisir 200/1, Green on a modest debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle. Effective at 2m and showed promise in Irish bumpers, but needs more to figure over hurdles. Promise in both bumpers in Ireland but down the field on his two runs in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (200/1 +0%)King Kodiak |
200/1(+0%) | (7) King Kodiak 200/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Catterick on his latest start. Likely to want 2m4f or further over hurdles and looks up against it in this company. Not devoid of promise in bumper at Newcastle last February but he's struggled over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (15/8 -7%)Bobby's Nelson |
15/8(-7%) | (1) Bobby's Nelson 15/8, Improved up in trip when winning a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las by 3 1/2l last time. Effective between 2m and 2m4f and acts with cut. Steadily progressive and remains competitive under a penalty. Won when upped to 2m4f at Ffos Las and he's a leading candidate under a 7lb penalty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bossman Jack caught the eye when comfortably getting off the mark at Ffos Las and is likely to appreciate this step up in distance. Even so, BOBBY'S NELSON looks the way to go. The seven-year-old has already proven his stamina when scoring in good style over 2m4f at the Welsh venue last month and makes plenty of appeal. Swindon Village can't be ruled out either.

Top of the list is BOBBY'S NELSON, who was suited by the step up in trip when winning with something to spare over 2m4f at Ffos Las.

(1) (2/1 +0%)Klycot |
2/1(+0%) | (1) Klycot 2/1, Improved again when winning a 4yo hurdle here by 12l last time, benefitting from a drop in class. Effective around 2m and acts on heavy and soft ground. A progressive type based on recent form who sets the standard. Improving juvenile; good effort in the Finale is flanked by wins, latest by 12l over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (4/1 +0%)Love Sonnet |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Love Sonnet 4/1, Improved when winning a juvenile hurdle at Newbury by 8l last time. Off a short break, she is effective around 2m and acts on soft and good ground. A progressive performer on recent evidence. Record of 211 over hurdles, scoring by 8l at Newbury most recently; progressing well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (5/6 +0%)Merci Mam |
5/6(+0%) | (2) Merci Mam 5/6, The yard won this race last year and he made a very promising debut when winning a juvenile hurdle at Lyon Parilly by 1/4l. Returning from a break, effective at 2m1f and acts on heavy ground. More to come for top yard and should go well on stable debut. Successful in sole French start; subsequently sold for 520,000euros; interesting recruit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (66/1 +0%)Captain Connor |
66/1(+0%) | (4) Captain Connor 66/1, Green and made mistakes when well beaten in a 4yo hurdle here latest, though showed a little improvement from debut. Effective at 2m on good to soft ground but likely to want further over hurdles. Long way behind Klycot over C&D last time, regressing further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (66/1 +0%)Blondina |
66/1(+0%) | (5) Blondina 66/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when down the field on hurdle debut at Musselburgh most recent. The run was needed and the trainer is in form, but she has yet to show much in either code. Never figured at Musselburgh on the switch to this code. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Love Sonnet arrives on the back of completing a double at Newbury and has to be considered along with French hurdles winner Merci Mam, who is making his stable bow for Dan Skelton. However, KLYCOT bolted up to make it two from four in the UK over track and trip on his latest outing and even a repeat of his runner-up effort in Grade 2 company at Chepstow over Christmas might be enough.

Ex-French Merci Mam is an interesting contender. KLYCOT and Love Sonnet bring the best British form and they are progressive.

(3) (4/1 +0%)Eaton Anne |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Eaton Anne 4/1, Made mistakes and never travelled when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time, possibly failing to stay. Returns from a short break, is effective at 2 1/2m and acts with cut, but stamina remains to be proven. May well relish this switch to chasing, having won his sole point attempt; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (5/1 +0%)Express Surprise |
5/1(+0%) | (7) Express Surprise 5/1, Scored by a neck off a 6lb lower mark at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start. Ran to form when fourth, beaten 12l, off 107 last time and competes from the same mark here. Effective at 3m and generally consistent. Made the frame last time when bidding for hat-trick; remains in form; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 +0%)Heeztheboy |
6/1(+0%) | (2) Heeztheboy 6/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark at Leicester on his penultimate start. Effective between 2m and 3m and acts on heavy or good to soft ground. The handicapper may have caught up. Disappointing last time but can't be written off; progressive otherwise for current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/1 +0%)Pimlico Point |
9/1(+0%) | (1) Pimlico Point 9/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time. Blinkers are applied for the first time. Effective around 3m and ideally wants easier ground, but his overall profile remains inconsistent. Chance largely depends on whether new headgear prompts a turnaround. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 +0%)Latenightrumble |
10/1(+0%) | (4) Latenightrumble 10/1, Ran to current form when well beaten in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective at around 3m and suited by cut in the ground, though his form has tailed off during the past year. Might well have won this race last year but for stumbling on landing at final fence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 +0%)Fenland Tiger |
11/1(+0%) | (5) Fenland Tiger 11/1, Never threatened when fourth, beaten 28l, in a handicap chase at Newcastle last time. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time. Effective over 3m to 3m2f and acts on heavy or good to soft ground, but needs a drop in class. Chance depends on how well he reacts to first-time headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/4 -29%)Paddy O'mahler |
9/4(-29%) | (6) Paddy O'mahler 9/4, Improved again up in trip when outstaying the runner-up to land a handicap by 2l at Haydock last time, off a 5lb lower mark. Effective at 3m and acts with cut, with his current mark still looking fair. Record of 2211 since switched to chasing; respected with further progress plausible. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PADDY O'MAHLER is progressive and makes a good bit of appeal chasing a three-timer following an assertive Haydock success last time over a couple of furlongs further. He won at this track over hurdles and gets the nod ahead of Heeztheboy, who can be forgiven one lacklustre effort at Leicester last time given his previous form. Keep an eye on Express Surprise too.

Off a 4lb lower mark, LATENIGHTRUMBLE is taken to gain compensation for seeming unlucky in this contest 12 months ago.

(2) (2/1 +0%)Tormund Giantsbane |
2/1(+0%) | (2) Tormund Giantsbane 2/1, From a yard that won this race last year. Keen and made mistakes when fourth beaten 12l in a Grade 2 novices' hurdle at Sandown last time. Effective at 2m4f, a point, bumper and hurdles winner, with more to come for a top yard and opening mark could be lenient. Not disgraced in Grade 2 novice at Sandown in December; has potential off opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (10/1 +0%)Into The Park |
10/1(+0%) | (1) Into The Park 10/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Exeter last time, never jumping or travelling. Effective over around 2m4f and 2m5f, and is likely capable of better over fences than shown on his latest start. Pulled up on chase debut last time but went very close off today's mark in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 +0%)Woodland Park |
11/4(+0%) | (3) Woodland Park 11/4, Improved when beaten 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time. Effective between 2m and 2m5f, a consistent type who has been thereabouts and is likely to be involved once more. Went close at Uttoxeter last time and every chance he'll be bang there once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/2 +0%)Baratablet |
13/2(+0%) | (4) Baratablet 13/2, Scored by 4l off a 7lb lower mark at Newcastle on his penultimate start. Effective from around 2m4f up to 3m and has been progressive, though the handicapper may now have caught up with him. Only fourth at Kelso in hat-trick bid but that may not represent ceiling of his ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (14/1 +0%)North Parade |
14/1(+0%) | (9) North Parade 14/1, Made too many errors and had too much to do when fourth beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Off a short break, effective around 2m4f, and now dropping back towards a workable mark. 11yo whose losing run continues but he might have an each-way chance off reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (15/2 +0%)Captain Butler |
15/2(+0%) | (6) Captain Butler 15/2, Outpaced and looked in need of further when beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Effective over 2m to 2m4f, his mark looks fair and he can do better now stepping up in trip. There's a suspicion he has a bigger run in him and the step back up in trip may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (16/1 +0%)Kingston Narcissus |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Kingston Narcissus 16/1, Won by 3l off a 5lb lower mark at Sedgefield on his penultimate start. Never threatened when seventh beaten 44l last time off the same mark. Effective around 2m to 2m4f, but demands more after that run. Won at Sedgefield on Boxing Day but tailed off at Catterick only on Monday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (33/1 +0%)Ballygeary |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Ballygeary 33/1, Had no obvious excuse when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Effective over about 2m4f and on a workable mark, but arrives out of form and needs to show a return to his best. Close third on stable debut in July but he's struggled to get competitive since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/1 +18%)Bertie's Ballet |
9/1(+18%) | (5) Bertie's Ballet 9/1, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Had been in good form beforehand and is effective between 2m and 2m4f, so should come on for that latest outing. May have needed last month's comeback run; second in this last year when 3lb higher. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Woodland Park finished a close-up second at Uttoxeter latest and it's easy to see why he'll prove popular given his connections. However, TORMUND GIANTSBANE might have his measure going handicapping for the first time off 123. Dan Skelton deemed his six-year-old good enough for a Grade 2 at Sandown in December. Of the others, Baratablet should be able to get competitive.

The novice TORMUND GIANTSBANE (nap) appears to have a realistic mark for his h'cap debut and earns the vote ahead of Woodland Park.

4/1(+0%) | (2) Spot On Soph 4/1, Comfortably held by less exposed rivals in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Off a short break and effective from 2m to 2m3f, suited by good ground. In fine form until latest and may need a drop in grade. Tailed off in November but some good form previously and maybe a break will have helped. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (5/1 +0%)Scairp Dubh |
5/1(+0%) | (6) Scairp Dubh 5/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. Effective around 2m and in good form. Looks on a fair mark judged on maiden efforts and holds strong claims. Close fourth of 16 at Newcastle four weeks ago on second handicap start; could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (5/1 +0%)De Deli Counter |
5/1(+0%) | (7) De Deli Counter 5/1, Yard won this race last year. Improved when allowed an easy lead and jumped much better when beaten 3/4l off this mark at Market Rasen last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and needs to build on that latest improvement. Close second at 25-1 at Market Rasen recently on second handicap start; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +0%)Another High Five |
6/1(+0%) | (3) Another High Five 6/1, Improved on his final qualifying run when beaten 12l into third in a maiden hurdle at Kelso last time, though he looked in need of a stiffer test. Acts on soft and good ground and is a likely improver now handicapping up in trip. 3m point runner-up who could relish the step up in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (8/1 +0%)Wot You Wearing |
8/1(+0%) | (9) Wot You Wearing 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time. Effective over 2 1/2m on soft and good to firm ground but is out of form. Three-time hurdle winner but it's been a long time since he posed a serious threat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/2 +0%)Kells Priory |
9/2(+0%) | (1) Kells Priory 9/2, Needed the run when well beaten on chase debut in a beginners' chase at Tramore last time. Returning from a break and effective over 2 1/2m on soft and good ground. Must bounce back on stable debut. Perhaps a change of scenery will have helped; one to watch in the betting on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/1 +0%)Princesse Milania |
10/1(+0%) | (5) Princesse Milania 10/1, Yard won this race last year. Never travelled when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time, having been in good form beforehand. Effective from 2m5f to 3m on soft and good ground and had been consistent until latest. Tailed off last time but enjoyed good end to 2025; in the picture if getting back on track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (13/2 +0%)Natus Vincere |
13/2(+0%) | (8) Natus Vincere 13/2, Finished well but was never put into the race when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Leicester last time, having needed the run. Effective at 3m in points and should come on for that latest outing. Late headway into 31l fifth on handicap debut; could pose a much bigger threat today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (22/1 +0%)Justus |
22/1(+0%) | (4) Justus 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster last time. Effective at 2m on soft and good ground but needs to bounce back following that effort. He's struggled on his three hurdle starts this winter and a major turnaround is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (50/1 +0%)Gold Ring |
50/1(+0%) | (10) Gold Ring 50/1, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle here last time. Regressive in both codes and hard to fancy. Struggled in h'cap hurdles in winter 2024-25 and same story on comeback here on Boxing Day. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SPOT ON SOPH wasn't at the races at Market Rasen in November but has been freshened up and could be worth chancing in the finale judged on her previous form, which includes a Bangor second and a win over this trip at Sedgefield. De Deli Counter produced his best effort so far when runner-up at Market Rasen recently and is noted along with Kells Priory.

The very lightly raced mare NATUS VINCERE caught the eye at Leicester and is taken to score on her second handicap start.
Ths is the racecard key.
