18/1(-13%) | (2) Coul Jane 18/1, 10 Feb; 26,000gns Coulsty filly; first foal; dam smart at 5f, half-sister to a 2yo winner; probably best watched on debut 26,000gns yearling; would be a rare winning 2yo newcomer from the yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

VERY MINDFUL failed to help her cause by hanging left when second at Kempton on her introduction. Archie Watson's promising filly will have benefitted from that experience and can launch a serious challenge with improvement likely. Amo Racing purchased Love Olivia for 140,000gns and the daughter of Havana Grey may well feature on debut, while Acceptance is the first foal of a winner France and is another newcomer to note.

Runner-up on her debut, Very Mindful could take some catching if again sent forward but LOVE OLIVIA looks an interesting newcomer.

STARFIGHTER has won five times here and looks likely to run his race again. Mark Loughnane's veteran is only 3lb higher than when last successful at this track in January and returns with solid claims. Boasty is potentially well treated on last year's winning form here and he can make his presence felt over this longer distance, while Prince Hector had the measure of Two Plus Two when landing a classified contest over course and distance last month and could be in the mix.

Unexposed over this far, BOASTY looks interesting, especially as he finished runner-up in his only previous attempt over C&D.

SYNERGISM has the profile of a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver as he showed little in three starts over shorter trips in novice company last year, but will likely prove a different proposition upped in distance for his handicap debut. Electric Bass is worth keeping an eye on now handicapping, although Sweet Cicely looks to have stronger claims on the back of finishing a creditable third at Newcastle.

The vote goes to Sir Mark Prescott's SYNERGISM who could look a different proposition now upped in trip on his handicap debut.

DARK SORCERESS only won by half a length on her seasonal return at Chelmsford, but she was value for more after idling in front and an added 3lb may not stop her doubling up. Rogue Dancer is another improver after winning at Southwell on her final start of 2024, but she has to give 13lb to the selection on her return, while Elland Road Girl is also progressing with her win at Bath a career-best effort.

There may well be more to come from Rogue Dancer, but ELLAND ROAD GIRL has looked on the upgrade for her new yard this spring.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Midnightattheoasis has won his last five starts including a dead-heat last time out at Lingfield, but an added 7lb now may mean he has to settle for a place. He should get the better of Recon Mission on these terms but BURABACK gets the vote. Sent to the lead close home at Chelmsford last time, if he gets a clear run off 2lb higher he could double up.

Preference is for REIGNING PROFIT (nap) who went down by only a nose at Pontefract a week ago and races off the same mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

BOLD SUITOR is a course and distance winner in good form after a second here last time out where he raced wide before staying on late, but he has a better draw now which may see him get back to winning ways. Fistral Beach appears to be his biggest rival after being beaten a neck at Southwell, while Outreach has won here three times and also enters calculations off his lowly mark.

The vote goes to BOLD SUITOR who won over C&D last month and is much better drawn than when second of 11 back here a fortnight ago.

11th (4) (17/2 +23%)Till It Shines |
17/2(+23%) | (4) Till It Shines 17/2, Down the field in a handicap here most recent; usually consistent; flopped back in handicap company after classified stakes win over CD, chance if at peak again Won over C&D last month and badly drawn when well beaten a week later; could go well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Heerathetrack failed to back up his success at Chelmsford when only fifth at Southwell earlier in the month, but he may be worth another chance. However, MATCH ANTHEM gets the nod. The four-year-old was only beaten a length over C&D on his penultimate start and competes off an unchanged rating. If he can reproduce that level of form, he could be the one to beat. Embarked isn't out of it either.

It may be worth siding with GALEL who returns to this trip for the first time since going down by a head over C&D in November.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Life On The Rocks has occupied the runner-up berth on each of his last two starts and should remain competitive off a 1lb higher mark than his latest effort at Doncaster. However, he could come out second best to STRATEGIC FORTUNE, who went in over track and trip on his latest outing and a 2lb rise may underestimate the authority he showed over his rivals that day. Last-time-out C&D scorer Danehill Star is another to keep an eye on.

The selection is I CAN'T BELIEVE who has been placed in both starts over C&D since winning over a furlong shorter here in January.
Ths is the racecard key.
