1st (7) (11/2 +15%)Rocks Up Late |
11/2(+15%) | (7) Rocks Up Late 11/2, Below par down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Huntingdon most recent run and no really worthwhile form; tongue-tie tried Weak claims on form; market may prove best guide on handicap/chase/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/2 +15%)Tactical Affair |
11/2(+15%) | (2) Tactical Affair 11/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Plumpton latest after taken on up front; in solid form prior to that off quite stiff marks, today's more lenient and one to consider 0-5 over fences; continues to drop in weights and is attractively treated on best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 -13%)Dj Pete |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Dj Pete 9/2, Two good chase efforts and improved from debut when beaten 3/4l off 95 over 2m at Chepstow last time; up a 1lb, but obvious contender Good runner-up at Chepstow last time and that was only his second attempt over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (6/1 +40%)Grain Trade |
6/1(+40%) | (4) Grain Trade 6/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon latest and best judged on about 4l 4th off 84 at same track three starts back; trainer in form; tongue-tie first time; chase debut Not particularly solid on hurdles form and lacked fluency last time; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/2 -27%)Tropical Talent |
7/2(-27%) | (6) Tropical Talent 7/2, Out-battled late when second beaten 5l in a handicap chase over 2m at Hereford latest; repeat of that would give him a big shout off same mark Won off a similar mark last May; ran creditably at Hereford most recently; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (4/1 -14%)Electric Jet |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Electric Jet 4/1, Well backed beaten 2 1/4l off 100 over 2m at Newcastle last time backing up previous near miss at Ludlow off a 98; contender Has performed well on the figures in two starts since dropped to 2m; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (12/1 -20%)Haafback |
12/1(-20%) | (8) Haafback 12/1, Made too much use of fourth beaten 8l in a handicap chase over 2m at Warwick latest, but in poor form of late and that run probably best reflects chance Inconsistent but he's one of only two runners who already have winning chase form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -186%)Head Over Hinds |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Head Over Hinds 40/1, Comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m at Hereford on debut; hood first time; hurdle form suggests mark is quite stiff Inconsistent maiden; chance depends on whether he improves for first-time hood. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DJ PETE hit the woodwork in a tougher contest than this at Chepstow last month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 1lb. The son of Malinas may have more to offer on only his fourth handicap start and will prove tough to beat. Tropical Talent failed to justify favouritism but wasn't disgraced in second at Hereford last time and is likely to be thereabouts. Of the remainder, Electric Jet makes the most appeal.

Judged on his efforts since dropped to 2m, ELECTRIC JET appears to have an ordinary race in him. Tropical Talent is second pick.

1st (4) (9/2 +0%)Montregard |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Montregard 9/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Uttoxeter latest and disappointed previous start having been in good form prior to that; visor first time; trainer in form; contender if head gear galvanises Scored in November but rather disappointing otherwise over fences; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/10 +69%)Holokea |
11/10(+69%) | (3) Holokea 11/10, Ran to form beaten 1 1/2l off 108 over 3m in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time; go well if transferring that form fences on chase debut Has form figures of 422 over hurdles since handicapping; respected on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (50/1 -127%)Tide Times |
50/1(-127%) | (8) Tide Times 50/1, Very regressive and comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m7f at Chepstow last time; can only be watched at present All chase wins at Ludlow, the most recent in late 2023; dismal form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (28/1 -211%)Impatient |
28/1(-211%) | (2) Impatient 28/1, 26l third in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Haydock most recent run; fell late when tiring, booked for 2nd or 3rd previous start; could get involved if returning to that form Won at Ffos Las in November; inconsistent otherwise; modest third last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (16/1 -78%)No No Maestro |
16/1(-78%) | (1) No No Maestro 16/1, Comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f here last time in June; has had a long break since and if returning to anything like 2023 form would be well-in at the weights; very risky Well below par in three runs last year; needs a revival on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (4/1 +43%)Gold Link |
4/1(+43%) | (5) Gold Link 4/1, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap chase at Taunton last time; visor first time; off a short-break; mark looks stiff Good chance off current mark provided he takes well to first-time headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (17/2 -240%)Pottlerath |
17/2(-240%) | (7) Pottlerath 17/2, Thrown in on old efforts when landing a handicap by 5l off 91 over 3m4f at Stratford last time; down in trip, but could still have plenty in hand of the handicapper Won at Stratford last time; defied this mark in this race two years ago; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (12/1 -9%)Masterdream |
12/1(-9%) | (6) Masterdream 12/1, Down the field in a handicap over 1m6f at Bath on the Flat most recent run in September; only beaten 3l off a 103 in a chase in June, but risky that will find that form after a rest Flat/hurdles winner; ran creditably in the first of two attempts over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HOLOKEA has occupied the runner-up berth over hurdles the last twice and is a previous course winner. Mickey Bowen's six-year-old has taken a step forward on each of his last three outings and it would be no surprise to see him score now tackling a fence. Pottlerath struck in good style at Stratford on his most recent start and holds an obvious chance off 7lb higher. Impatient looks best of the rest.

Solid-looking chase debutant HOLOKEA (nap) is preferred, ahead of Pottlerath who won this contest in 2023.

14/1(-75%) | (5) Ernest Gray 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Doncaster latest; cheekpieces first time; returning from a break after a wind operation; could figure Possibilities if aided by physical tweak (wind surgery) and new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (28/1 -75%)Icare Allen |
28/1(-75%) | (1) Icare Allen 28/1, Below par down the field in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Ayr most recent run and never travelling previous outing; fair mark, but needs to rediscover form Won well in November; lacks consistency but this drop back in grade may suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6/1(+40%) | (2) Party Business 6/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest and generally below form of late; mark has fallen and would be attractive if can recapture old form Good chance off current mark provided this is one of his better days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 -40%)Shantou Express |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Shantou Express 7/1, Ran to form beaten 3l off 114 at Bangor-on-Dee last time; a bit in and out, but a repeat of that form and should contend Not the force of old but two of his last three efforts offer some optimism. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (150/1 -200%)Slip Of The Tongue |
150/1(-200%) | (10) Slip Of The Tongue 150/1, Poor since moving to Britain; has had wind operation, but no obvious upturn since and can only be watched at present Poor claims on his form for current stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (11/1 +31%)Butler's Brief |
11/1(+31%) | (8) Butler's Brief 11/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Wetherby most recent run; trainer in form, but bit to prove after two poor efforts Successful in a division of this race in 2021; ran poorly the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (1/1 +56%)Ebony Warrior |
1/1(+56%) | (3) Ebony Warrior 1/1, Suited by longer trip when winning a novice hurdle at Warwick over 2m5f by 1 1/4l last time; steadily progressive; the one to beat Record of 3122231 over hurdles, the first four occasions at Worcester; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (5/1 -122%)Earth King |
5/1(-122%) | (4) Earth King 5/1, Well backed when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 110 at Exeter last time; consistent, but back from a break Record of 2-5 since wearing cheekpieces and gained the wins under Harry Cobden. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

EARTH KING went in by just under a length in a stronger event at Exeter when last seen in October and makes his return to action off a 6lb higher mark. The nine-year-old should find this a little easier and can go in again. Ebony Warrior secured his second victory over the smaller obstacles at Warwick in March and is an interesting contender back in a handicap. Shantou Express is another to note.

With the cheekpieces retained, ROCKADENN may be able to end a long losing spell. Ebony Warrior is second choice.

17/2(+15%) | (2) Kado De Joie 17/2, Below par well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las latest and beaten favourite previous start after a series of good efforts; may bounce back and would be dangerous if does May just be this mark is beyond him (6lb higher than when last successful in the winter). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6th (5) (8/1 +20%)Teorie |
8/1(+20%) | (5) Teorie 8/1, Ran to form beaten a head off 110 over 2m6f at Exeter last time despite a bit too much to do ridden to see out the trip; can improve and chance in very competitive race Better on his second start following wind op; whether he repeats the dose is the question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (25/1 +24%)Windsurfer |
25/1(+24%) | (10) Windsurfer 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon latest; not proven trip; returning from a short-break; mark looks stiff Two poor efforts since upped to this trip and handicapping; isn't obviously fancied. |

6/1(+63%) | (14) Master Dancer 6/1, Probably needed race fourth beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las latest; can improve on that, but mark looks a little stiff More on his second start since a wind op latest; on a handy mark if able to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (11/1 +0%)Everyonesgame |
11/1(+0%) | (4) Everyonesgame 11/1, Probably needed race 5l third in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Hereford most recent run, but fair effort and very similar level over hurdles; significant jockey booking; contender Well treated returning to hurdles but regressed for this yard after a wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (40/1 +39%)Minella Double |
40/1(+39%) | (13) Minella Double 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Stratford latest and in poor form since a win here back in August; big risk that will return to that level here Four poor efforts since his 40-1 C&D win last August; the cheekpieces come off tonight. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (3) (66/1 -100%)Tigerbythetail |
66/1(-100%) | (3) Tigerbythetail 66/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Carlisle last time; couple of good runs in February would put in the mix; bit to prove now Inconsistent over hurdles since returning from a break; usually races over further. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A few with chances, but preference is for the James Owen-trained JACKPOT CASH, who arrives in search of a hat-trick having recorded wins at Sedgefield (fences) and Stratford recently. The six-year-old had a bit in hand crossing the line last time and, although 8lb higher, he still might not have reached the ceiling of his ability. Market Rasen scorer Groovy Blue enters handicaps off a potentially workable mark and must enter calculations, along with Teorie and Liverpool Knight.

The vote goes to LIVERPOOL KNIGHT, who's used to plying his trade in better company and will appreciate the step back up in trip.

50/1(+24%) | (6) Taymount 50/1, Comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las latest and last two previous starts; all to prove Point winner; poor form in 2m4f maiden hurdles. |

11/1(+73%) | (3) Money To Burn 11/1, Fourth beaten 15l in a bumper at Chepstow latest; open to improvement on hurdle debut, but good bit needed Not particularly solid on bumper form, having failed to back up debut effort. |

12/1(+40%) | (2) High Court Judge 12/1, Raced freely beaten 6l in a Flat handicap over 12f at Lingfield last time; that close to level of current form and if reproduced over hurdles would give place claims Eight AW wins on Flat; well beaten in sole attempt over hurdles; something to prove. |

50/1(-25%) | (7) Spartan Times 50/1, Moderate on the Flat and ran to form beaten 4l in a handicap at Southwell last time off a 46; can only be watched on hurdle debut Modest maiden on Flat; brings no potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (33/1 -267%)Nini Star |
33/1(-267%) | (12) Nini Star 33/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Hereford latest; cheekpieces first time; not proven trip; off a short-break; chance if converting good Flat form after a wind operation Had wind surgery since achieving zilch on hurdles debut; may fare better this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (6/1 -33%)Plus Point |
6/1(-33%) | (9) Plus Point 6/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Doncaster last time; trainer in form and useful on the Flat; could do better Let down by novicey jumping on hurdles debut but may improve; fairly useful on Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (10/3 -48%)Squire Danagher |
10/3(-48%) | (5) Squire Danagher 10/3, Well backed when winning a handicap at Dundalk on the Flat over 12f by a head last time; conversion of that form over hurdles would make interesting Fairly useful AW winner in Ireland; possibilities, provided he takes well to hurdles. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (100/1 -100%)Santa Sabina |
100/1(-100%) | (10) Santa Sabina 100/1, Gentlewave mare; hood on debut; likely to need the experience First foal of a mare who achieved little; wears hood on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Squire Danagher was a useful performer on the level and Ben Pauling's new recruit will be a real force if taking to this new discipline, but the vote goes to HAVEFUNONTHERUN. The son of Doctor Dino shaped with promise when fourth in a bumper at Huntingdon on his racecourse bow last month. Connections waste no time in sending him over hurdles and it would come as no surprise were he to progress. Fresh As A Daisy is also noted.

The Verdict comprises SOUL LIMBO, Fresh As A Daisy and Havefunontherun who have shown clear promise in bumpers.

9/2(-29%) | (1) Renoir 9/2, Strong stayer and aided by leader winding it up early when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 105 at Hereford last time; up 5lb for that, but seems to be progressing Improved as he's gained experienced over hurdles; respected off a 5lb higher mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (22/1 0%)Land Girl's Luck |
22/1(0%) | (6) Land Girl's Luck 22/1, Made too much use of up in trip and not get home fourth beaten 17l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Stratford latest; drop in trip a positive Found it beyond her off a 3lb higher mark on her handicap debut; cheekpieces come off. |

6th (5) (25/1 -14%)Blackijo Dagrostis |
25/1(-14%) | (5) Blackijo Dagrostis 25/1, Raced freely comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Chepstow last time; modest so far and probably needs to find good bit of improvement Ran as well as he was entitled to in a Chepstow novice last time; this is more realistic. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/1 -20%)Estate Planning |
9/1(-20%) | (7) Estate Planning 9/1, Outpaced and jumped poorly when 6 1/2l third in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow most recent run; pretty consistent over hurdles of late and may threaten places Hasn't always looked the easiest but proved competitive since handicapping on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (11/2 +75%)Ascension Day |
11/2(+75%) | (4) Ascension Day 11/2, Never competitive after series of errors and pulled up in a handicap chase at Huntingdon latest; cheekpieces first time and had been much better over hurdles; not a forlorn hope Leap of faith required, back from four months off, having not taken to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (50/1 +0%)Saddlers Dream |
50/1(+0%) | (10) Saddlers Dream 50/1, Raced freely fourth beaten 28l in a selling hurdle over 2m3f at Exeter latest; difficult to fancy Tailed off in two bumpers and three runs over hurdles, starting big prices every time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

RENOIR was raised 5lb after winning at Hereford in March but Ben Clarke's gelding had pulled well clear with the runner-up that day and, with the prospect of more to come, that hike from the assessor could prove to be lenient. Katana goes handicapping with scope for improvement so makes plenty of appeal, and it would come as no surprise to see the consistent Estate Planning on the premises.

Katana needs to put in a better round of jumping, and preference is for RENOIR, who's proving better as a hurdler than on the Flat.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing.
