13:05 Newcastle Maiden Hurdle (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MOON CHIME won a deeper contest over 2m at Huntingdon last month and, given he got better the further he went that day, stepping up in distance here is of little concern on the back of that commanding performance. Rocket Ronald showed ability when second to an odds-on shot at Leicester on his racecourse bow last November and he commands respect. Similar comments apply to Big John Wayne, whose Rules debut third in a Hereford novice hurdle looks solid given the runner-up has won since.

The step up to 2½m looks sure to suit MOON CHIME who can follow up last month's Huntingdon success. Leicester runner-up Rocket Ronald may give him more to do than Big John Wayne.

Point winner BIG JOHN WAYNE was a promising third on last month's hurdle debut at Hereford and gets the nod ahead of Moon Chime.

(2) No Ordinary Joe 17/2, Winner of 2m handicap on sole previous visit here in December 2022 and went on to finish a fine second in Martin Pipe at last season's Cheltenham Festival. However, reappearance/chase debut at Newbury was inauspicious and followed that with another low-key display back in this sphere last month.

13:15 Kempton Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

LARGY POET put in a career best when a 12-length winner of a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m5f at Exeter last month. That performance suggests that the Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old could be hard to beat off a mark of 127 on his handicap bow. Samuel Spade struggled in the Lanzarote over C&D on his most recent outing, but he could make his presence felt at this more realistic level. Joker De Mai and Get A Tonic are also noted.

Chris Gordon saddled the winner of this in 2022 and in SEA INVASION the yard fields an intriguing candidate this time round. The 6-y-o took a step forward when fourth in a maiden here on Boxing Day, form which is working out well (second and third both won since), and he promises to be suited by this stiffer test now pitched into a handicap. Top-weight Pentland Hills will be a big threat if able to build on his encouraging reappearance, while Largy Poet and Joker de Mai are also key players.

Interesting handicap debutants SEA INVASION and Largy Poet head a shortlist that is completed by Joker De Mai.

13:23 Chepstow Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IDEFIX DE CIERGUES finished 10 lengths clear of the third when touched off in handicap company at Wincanton and has a big opportunity now back in a maiden. He can take a step forward and get off the mark at the fifth time of asking over timber. Tommys Charm filled the runner-up spot in a point-to-point before changing hands for 30,000 pounds and he needs to be monitored in the betting, while Dasher is one to watch out for on his hurdles bow.

IDEFIX DE CIERGUES produced an improved effort when narrowly denied in a Wincanton handicap last month and a reproduction of that form could be good enough to go one better back in maiden company. Mad Mike (engaged 2.03 Exeter Friday) and Dasher are considered the main dangers.

He's unproven on heavy ground but IDEFIX DE CIERGUES brings a pretty good piece of handicap form into this maiden and gets the vote.

13:30 Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

THEATRE NATIVE proved bitterly disappointing (blowing hard post-race) on her hurdling debut at Clonmel in November, but is given another chance to prove that running was all wrong. The well-bred daughter of Getaway was set to easily win her only point-to-point start for Donnchadh Doyle when falling at the last, and was far from disgraced when fourth in a Listed bumper here last Easter. Galway bumper winner Mi Lucky Cailin beat all bar the useful Only By Night in a 17-runner Naas maiden last time, while others to consider include Ballycallan King and On Lovers Walk. Cottesloe Sunshine is a newcomer to note in the market, while Arch Hall and Theflyingbee have also shown ability.

ARCH HALL made an encouraging start to his career when third over C&D 17 days ago and seems likely to build on that, so there's good reason to believe he'll be right in the thick of the action at the business end. Theatre Native stopped quickly on her hurdling debut at Clonmel back in November but was said to be blowing post-race and retains potential, while Mi Lucky Calin has improved with each run over hurdles so far and must enter calculations, too.

despite two runs below expectations, it might be woth giving another chance to THEATRE NATIVE. This could be an ideal opportunity

13:38 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The hat-trick seeking NETYWELL is hard to oppose now he has got his act together over fences and further success cannot be ruled out, despite the gelding being allotted a 7lb higher mark after his comfortable success over this trip at Ayr 11 days ago. Sedgefield winner Duo D'Enfer could be the one to capitalise if the quick turnaround takes a toll on the selection, although Mr Grey Sky is better than recent form figurers would have you believe and he's not taken lightly.

NETYWELL and Duo d'Enfer both arrive here in rude health and marginal preference is for the former, who did the job well at Ayr last time and he clearly relishes testing conditions. Mr Grey Sky is taken to edge out Cornerstone Lad in the battle for minor honours.

Things have really clicked for NETYWELL the last twice and he can land a hat-trick for Lucinda Russell. Duo D'Enfer is a danger.

13:50 Kempton Conditions Hurdle (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

KALIF DU BERLAIS created a big impression when winning on his UK/stable debut over C&D last month and Paul Nicholls' juvenile merits the utmost respect on the back of that performance, despite having to concede weight all round. Givemefive appears to be a big threat following his 18-length success under a penalty at Warwick. Cases can be made for most of the remainder, but Captain Marvellous is marginally the pick of them.

KALIF DU BERLAIS created an excellent impression when scoring in good style on his UK/stable debut over C&D 6 weeks ago and is fancied to maintain his unbeaten record upped in grade. Givemefive is well worth his place in this company after blowing away the opposition on his most recent outing at Warwick, while Captain Marvellous and Peking Opera shouldn't be overlooked for all that they have something to find on ratings.

In a strong Adonis, KALIF DU BERLAIS has to give his rivals 5lb but he has looked an excellent prospect and may well be up to the task.

13:58 Chepstow Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BUBBLE DUBI wasn't disgraced when third at Haydock in December and his rating remains unchanged. Stuart Edmunds' gelding is only 3lb higher than his sole winning mark and he can get his head back in front. The main danger might be Zambezi Fix, who has been first and second over fences here the last twice and is an interesting contender back in this sphere. Of the remainder, Storming Nelson makes some appeal on only his second handicap start.

ZAMBEZI FIX can enhance his good Chepstow record and land this race for the second year running. Not Now Kanne was in contention for a place when coming down at the final flight on his Hereford handicap debut and may give the selection most to do ahead of Bubble Dubi.

The 7yo BUBBLE DUBI (nap) is preferred, as he's been consistent over hurdles and returns from a break with his yard having winners.

14:03 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TOLL STONE and Roboreti were only separated by a short head when fighting out the finish of a maiden over C&D earlier this month. There shouldn't be much between the pair again but slight preference is given to the Emmet Mullins-trained gelding, who has progressed with each outing over hurdles. In The Trenches has finished behind the selection on a couple of occasions and put in a creditable effort in his first handicap hurdle when runner-up to Mount Frisco at Limerick last month. San Guido appears one of his yard's lesser lights and is now tried in blinkers, while Roboreti's stablemate Hey Whatever has been placed both on the Flat and over hurdles and can't be discounted at the weights.

In a tight-looking 4-y-o handicap the suggestion is IN THE TRENCHES, who took a step forward when runner-up on his Limerick handicap debut last month. Last-time-out C&D juvenile 1-2 Toll Stone and Roboreti may give him most to do.

The one to be on could be IN THE TRENCHES, who has progressed gradually and has a big chance on his recent Limerick run

14:08 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 2) 33f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

There has been some good weight-carrying performances in this race over the years but the 11 stone mark is a prevalent trend among recent winners, which puts the progressive ANGLERS CRAG in the right bracket to continue on his upwardly mobile trajectory. The nine-year-old is still of low mileage over fences and, as he is notably 3-3 since joining the Brian Ellison yard, there are strong foundations for further success here. Fenland Tiger has won both his starts since finishing third behind the selection at Carlisle in December, so cannot be ruled out with a 7lb pull at the weights. The Galloping Bear was second in this race last year and is feared off the same mark, while Gold Clermont is another to consider.

ANGLERS CRAG made it 3 from 3 for this yard in emphatic fashion at Musselburgh 3 weeks ago and remains of strong interest with this longer trip unlikely to be an issue. The progressive Fenland Tiger rates the main threat, with Gold Clermont and Tommie Beau also respected.

This race looks the perfect fit for FLOWER OF SCOTLAND (nap). Next best are Tommie Beau, Fenland Tiger and Anglers Crag.

14:27 Kempton Maiden Chase (Class 1) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

TAHMURAS may have been a beaten favourite on his most recent start at Exeter, but he was giving a useful rival 5lb on that occasion and he gets a tentative nod in this wide-open event. Arclight is unbeaten in three starts over fences and Nicky Henderson's mare should not be underestimated. Le Patron is more than capable of going well if leaving his disappointing Scilly Isles run behind him, while similar comments apply to Pembroke and Blow Your Wad.

Paul Nicholls recorded a third consecutive win (and a thirteenth overall) when taking this with Solo last year and he can enhance that record further with TAHMURAS, who left his chasing debut effort well behind when scoring at Aintree on Boxing Day and confirmed that improvement when finishing runner-up at Exeter next time. Grade 1 winner Le Patron rates as an obvious danger, while Arclight, who is unbeaten in 3 starts over fences, adds another layer of intrigue to an open-looking Grade 2.

The combination of cheekpieces and return to Kempton hands the percentage call to BLOW YOUR WAD. Second choice is Tahmuras.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOOD FRIDAY FAIRY pulled seven lengths clear to make it two out of his last three at Uttoxeter last month and he remains in cracking form. Ben Clarke's gelding is rapidly improving and he doesn't look one to take on just yet. Walkinthewoods can put up the biggest fight after being denied by just under a length over C&D, and he should go well off 2lb higher. Last-time-out course winner Midnight Ginger is another to keep an eye on.

THOR DE CERISY arrives on the up for Neil Mulhollland and is fancied to bounce back in style from a last-fence fall at Uttoxeter when in command. Midnight Ginger has come late to fences but got off the mark here last time and rates the chief danger with scope for further improvement in this sphere. In-form pair Walkinthewoods and Good Friday Fairy both command respect too.

Low-mileage 7yo BLUE HOP has made a quiet start to his chasing career but has considerable scope for improvement if/when things click.

14:40 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KILBREE WARRIOR returned to form over this trip at Navan last month, adopting his normal front-running tactics and was only pegged back on the run-in by Harvard Guy, with Talk In The Park well behind in fourth. The point-to-point winner has gained both handicap hurdle wins at this venue and remains on a competitive mark. Your Honour made all to score at the Limerick Christmas meeting. Glen Kiln also won from the front in a 2m3f Naas maiden last time, and the long-time absent Dunvegan is another pace angle but none of the trio are likely to press the selection up front. Slanagaibhgoleir overcame a bad mistake at the last when opening his account in a 2m7f maiden at Punchestown last month and, with proven stamina, should be favoured by a strong pace, although his jumping needs to improve.

There's room for improvement in SLANAGAIBHGOLEIR's jumping but he's pretty promising otherwise and is taken to build on his Punchestown maiden success by following up on this handicap debut. Kilbree Warrior put in a fine shift in a Navan listed contest last time and a reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture. Glen Kiln appears to be going the right way and he is also shortlisted.

The vote goes to first-time handicapper SLANAGOIBHGOLEIR, who is dropping back in trip but should appreciate the likely generous pace

14:45 Southwell Listed (Class 1) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A highly creditable fourth in a Meydan Group 2 last month, CLARENDON HOUSE sets a lofty standard and can extend his unbeaten record on the all-weather, having won comfortably over C&D on his penultimate outing. On ratings, Robert Cowell's speedster is 4lb clear of recent Lingfield scorer Diligent Harry, who may not be ideally suited by the drop in distance and has to give the selection weight. Juan Les Pins and Thunderbear have the form to get involved in proceedings as well.

CLARENDON HOUSE was far from disgraced in a Group 2 at Meydan last month and can quickly resume winning ways back down in class, maintaining his unbeaten record on the AW. Diligent Harry made a winning return in a similar event at Lingfield 3 weeks ago and is feared most despite a 3 lb penalty. Juan Les Pins looks best of the others.

Clarendon House is the one to beat but ABERAMA GOLD looks a viable alternative in a race that could play to his strengths.

14:50 Newcastle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Tineggiori produced a solid level of form in bumpers, including a Hexham triumph in June of last year, and it would come as no surprise were he to be involved at the finish now sent over hurdles. However, preference is for FROM THE CLOUDS, who returned from a 422-day absence with a fourth-placed finish over an extended 2m4f here last month, having switched stables prior to that run. Given the fact he was keen that day, a drop in trip should suit and ground conditions will hold no fears for Lucinda Russell's seven-year-old. Lemoine is also noted.

TINEGGIORI, a fair bumper winner, sets out over hurdles with his yard amongst the winners, so he's fancied to come out on top in what looks a winnable race. From The Clouds is the pick of the Lucinda Russell trio, with Lemoine also feared following an encouraging debut in this sphere over C&D in December.

Those who have raced over hurdles set an ordinary standard and this could go to hurdling newcomer and bumper winner TINEGGIORI.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

The Ben Pauling yard can do little wrong at present and FIERCELY PROUD should be well suited by this test, having shown plenty of pace at Doncaster last month before fading into third. He can overturn form with Lump Sum (second), whose jumping can still be brushed up on, which is a worry on a sharp track like this. Panjari made a fine impression at Musselburgh, while Secret Squirrel must also be considered on the drop in trip.

None of these can be ruled out but LUMP SUM has improved a chunk with each of his three hurdling runs and is taken to quickly resume winning ways on the back of an excellent second in Doncaster's Rossington Main. Ben Pauling's Fiercely Proud came in a place behind Sam Thomas' improver that day and rates the main threat, although the likes of Panjari, Idy Wood and Secret Squirrel need factoring into this cracking Grade 2 too.

The rematch between Lump Sum and Fiercely Proud looks tight. SECRET SQUIRREL and Helnwein are interesting alternatives.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A tentative vote goes to CONKWELL LEGEND, who was leading and going well when falling three out in a veterans' handicap chase at Exeter last time. A return to hurdles looks like a shrewd move and conditions should be in his favour. Grade 1 winner Monmiral and Walking On Air also revert to the smaller obstacles, with the latter's Newbury second given a big boost since. Last year's winner Thanksforthehelp and Supremely West are just a couple more to consider.

SUPREMELY WEST is going the right way and shaped like this step up in trip would suit when second here last time, so he takes preference over Walking on Air and Monmiral, a pair of clasy sorts who should be helped by the switch back to hurdling.

Most have to be taken seriously but slight preference is for WALKING ON AIR ahead of Thanksforthehelp.

15:15 Fairyhouse Handicap Hurdle 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JOUSTER could pick up compensation after falling on his latest start over a similar trip at this track. He made stealthy progress and travelled well to close in fourth at the penultimate flight where he departed. Arthor didn't appear to stay over further in Punchestown, but his never-nearer fifth on his penultimate start in Limerick gives him prospects. Yabo was too keen in Punchestown, but is an interesting front-runner with a hood fitted. She is the highest-rated horse in the field and Conor Stone-Walsh takes 5lb off her back. Danny The Fence has disappointed recently but his sole victory came at this track, while Quornofamonday was in decent form before a below-par run at Punchestown. Chosen Shant's fourth in a big field at Naas wasn't a bad effort, although she does seem to prefer better ground.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and this looks a very good opportunity for JOUSTER to bounce back from a late fall here last time out when still going strongly and open his account. Both Quornofamonday and Chosen Shant are weighted to have a say and can chase home Gavin Cromwell's improving maiden in that order.

Preference is for JOUSTER(nap), who was poised to challenge when falling here last time and could get compensation

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Lord North was last seen winning his third Dubai Turf in March, on the back of a defeat of Tyrrhenian Sea in this race when it was run over 1m2f at Lingfield, but the extra yardage could test his stamina to the limit and it can pay to side with the less exposed MILITARY ORDER. Successful the Lingfield Derby Trial last season, the Godolphin four-year-old seemed to be finding his way again when narrowly denied in the trial over C&D. Eydon, off since finishing fourth in the 2000 Guineas of 2022, is a fascinating runner for a new stable.

A new home and trip for the Winter Derby but it might be the same outcome as last year with 4-time Group 1 winner LORD NORTH selected to make his class tell again. Military Order gained valuable experience over C&D when narrowly denied in a conditions race last month and can give the selection most to do.

Last year's winner LORD NORTH looks very much the one to beat on these terms. He has a wonderful record fresh.

15:27 Newcastle Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The Edgar Wallace has really found his feet over fences since being given wind surgery in July, winning two of his three starts, and though he merits respect, a chance can be taken on CHEDDLETON. Jennie Candlish's charge has dropped to an appealing mark following a trio of below-par efforts, and the addition of first-time cheekpieces could bring about a change in fortunes. Marown can chase the pair home, ahead of Brayhill.

THE EDGAR WALLACE is thriving and is likely to gain compensation for an unfortunate defeat at Wetherby last time. Marown is the obvious danger although Brayhill could feature if back to the sort of form that saw him make a successful return over C&D.

Three of these were below par last time whereas the fine form of THE EDGAR WALLACE continued with a near-miss at Wetherby.

15:37 Kempton Handicap Chase (Class 1) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

A comfortable winner over C&D last month and narrowly denied in this contest last year off 5lb lower, FLEGMATIK must hold strong claims of going one better. Soft ground may not be ideal, but his form stands up and he is narrowly preferred to Lord Baddesley, who looks to have been saved for this since a strong runner-up effort at Newbury in December. Denied by the narrowest of margins in the Great Yorkshire at Doncaster, Forward Plan is another to note, along with the classy Il Ridoto going up in trip, and dual course winner Tweed Skirt.

BLACKJACK MAGIC has shown enough the last twice to think he's still on a good mark if he can eliminate late jumping errors and can lead home an Anthony Honeyball 1-2 ahead of Great Yorkshire runner-up Forward Plan. Ben Pauling has his team in flying form and Bowtogreatness could also have a big say having shaped as if coming to hand when fifth in the traditionally-strong Timeform novice handicap at Cheltenham last month.

Preference is for LORD BADDESLEY (nap), who promises to be suited by going up further in distance. Tweed Skirt is second choice.

15:43 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 2) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

SAINT SEGAL may have failed to complete on two of his last three starts, but he remains on a workable mark going by his solid runner-up effort at Lingfield last month. The six-year-old has won over C&D before and he may have too much for the hat-trick-seeking Quel Destin, who beat the selection's Lingfield conqueror First Flow at the Welsh National meeting here. A winner twice this winter, Mount Tempest failed in his own bid for a three-timer at Sandown but is still capable of being in the shake-up.

A case can be made for all of the quintet but Dan Skelton's thriving MOUNT TEMPEST is fancied to quickly resume winning ways having had too much use made of him when an excellent third at Sandown last time. C&D scorer Saint Segal figures on a handy-looking mark though and rates a big danger, with Quel Destin and Prince Quali also firmly in the picture.

A tight handicap but SAINT SEGAL will surely have a major say if his jumping can stand the test. Prince Quali is second choice.

15:50 Fairyhouse Conditions Chase 25f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

I AM MAXIMUS has been successful on his last two visits to Fairyhouse, including in the Irish Grand National last April, and is taken to come out on top in this fascinating contest. The form of his Grade 1 Drinmore success at this track in December has been very well franked by the runner-up. I Am Maximus has faced tough tasks behind the ante-post favourite for the Gold Cup in his last couple of starts at Leopardstown, but his undoubted stamina can come into play here. All roads lead back to Aintree for Vanillier, who was a very creditable runner-up in last year's Grand National. He is rated 7lb inferior to I Am Maximus, yet receives 12lb from him under the terms of this race so is entitled to be on the premises. Minella Crooner actually pipped I Am Maximus by a short head in a beginners chase here in December 2022. He wasn't beaten far into third in a Grade 3 at Tramore in January and is not to be underestimated, despite being disadvantaged at the weights.

VANILLIER has the best form and returns to a suitable distance now, so he takes marginal preference over I AM MAXIMUS, who drops back into calmer waters. Minella Crooner is another definite player.

Irish National and Drinmore winner I AM MAXIMUS will take beating with no Galopin Des Champs to contend with here

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Runner-up to a subsequent Listed winner at Newcastle when last in action, MOONSTONE BOY sets the standard on form and can get his three-year-old career off to the perfect start. That may be at the main expense of newcomer Orchard Park, who is related to several winners and hails from a stable that has an excellent record with fillies. Pearl Abbey shaped with promise when the subject of a gamble on debut at York last summer and is expected to be thereabouts as well.

PEARL ABBEY shaped quite well on her York debut last summer and is taken to improve past more-established pair La Boo and Moonstone Boy. Newcomer Orchard Park, an ownermate of the selection, would also very much enter calculations should the betting suggest she's fancied.

A tricky little race, but LA BOO is open to improvement on her second start after a break and earns the vote ahead of Orchard Park.

16:00 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Horn Cape won two out of his last four starts and his most recent second in a class 4 event at Sedgefield puts him in the picture. However, he could find it tough to beat SINCE DAY ONE. Donald McCain's gelding hasn't been seen in this sphere since April 2022, when he finished fourth at Ayr, and he remains fairly unexposed for his age, so it would be no surprise to see him get his head back in front. Matchless completes the shortlist.

A chance is taken on the fitness of SINCE DAY ONE, who clearly goes well here (4-4 over hurdles and 5-6 overall at this course) and he resumes on a good mark (8 lb lower than that off which he landed a handicap chase here last January). Jason The Militant's recent form figures do not inspire confidence but he's lurking on a dangerous mark and is next on the list ahead of the in-form Horn Cape and Matchless.

Most of these have something to prove but that's certainly not the case with HORN CAPE, who won over C&D on heavy ground in December.

16:10 Kempton Handicap Chase (Class 2) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

CHAMPAGNE MYSTERY ran with promise when fifth at Cheltenham on his return to UK soil and, easing 2lb in the handicap, he may represent value in what appears a competitive affair. Heltenham looked a progressive chaser with a bright future when notching three victories last season, but he hasn't quite kicked on as expected and needs to bounce back from a couple of subdued efforts. Impressive last-time-out C&D winner Pepe Le Moko warrants consideration, despite a 9lb rise.

This is tougher than the C&D handicap PEPE LE MOKO landed last time and he has a 9 lb higher mark to contend with, but he looks a chaser going places and is taken to strike again. Champagne Mystery is feared most on the back of his admirable effort in a big Cheltenham handicap, while Heltenham is also accorded respect and Golden Son is not one to write off just yet.

Clear preference is for PEPE LE MOKO and Grandads Cottage, who both finished so firmly on top last time out.

16:18 Chepstow Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TWILIGHT GLORY just denied a progressive rival over an extended 2m7f here last month, so a subsequent 6lb rise might not be enough to prevent Tim Vaughan's gelding from following up. Having occupied the runner-up spot on his last two starts, Felton Bellevue is unlikely to be far away along with Williamdeconqueror, who boasts a fairly consistent profile over the larger obstacles.

This can go the way of FELTON BELLEVUE, who has hit the crossbar on 3 of his last 4 starts and this looks a good opportunity for Ben Case's 10-y-o to snap a losing streak stretching back over 2 years. Twilight Glory caused a shock when bouncing back to form here last month so he can give the selection most to think about, ahead of Williamdeconqueror and Gibberwell.

This might go to GIBBERWELL, who has been in pretty good form in recent months and will be very well suited by today's ground.

16:25 Fairyhouse Maiden Chase 25f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This could set up well for GOOD TIME JONNY. He likes to be ridden patiently and is a talented stayer who could be produced to deliver in the latter stages of this small-field race. Intense Raffles won three times in his native France and put in a sparkling Irish debut when making all in a rated novice chase over a shorter trip at this track last month. That form received a massive boost when the runner-up came out and won a staying assignment by 16 lengths. This is a new trip for Intense Raffles, but he will likely get to dictate his own pace. Brampton Belle gets first-time cheekpieces, which could eke out a bit more from her. Her best performance over fences came on her penultimate start when third in Galway.

INTENSE RAFFLES has had his recent victory here boosted and he's likely to follow up at the possible expense of Good Time Jonny who shaped with encouragement at Leopardstown last time and remains with scope based on hurdling form. Brampton Belle is another player.

It is hard to overlook the claims of INTENSE RAFFLES after his easy win in a novice chase here last month that has worked out very well

16:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ARTISAN DANCER arrives here having won two of his last three starts and a 4lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop him. That said, Brunello Breeze has also been in fine form of late and is an obvious threat to the selection. Others to consider in an open event are Cresta Cat, Aqwaam and Barenboim.

The one who appeals most is BARENBOIM, who did well to finish as close as he did at Lingfield last time given that he was done no favours by the steady gallop, This is likely to be a truly-run affair and the 6-y-o is 4 lb below his last winning mark. Valsad went close at Newcastle recently and should be in the mix once more, while the unexposed Cello, the progressive Brunello Breeze, Artisan Dancer and Rhythmic Intent are others to consider in a very competitive contest.

The vote goes to AQWAAM who ran really well to finish second in a stronger race over this trip at Wolverhampton seven days ago.

16:35 Newcastle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Into The Sunset hasn't been seen on the track since scoring by seven lengths in a class 4 event at Catterick in August 2022, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the market on his return. However, the vote goes to CHUMLEE, who has much more recent form in the book after hitting the frame in this grade at Kelso last month and he was dropped 1lb for that effort. The nine-year-old was reappearing after a 291-day break that day and it may have brought him on plenty, while he also has winning C&D form in the book. Melvich Bay goes in first-time cheekpieces and she can fight it out for the minor honours.

CHUMLEE was most impressive when making a successful handicap debut here last March and, while his only start since was underwhelming, he could strip fitter for it and this isn't a strong race, so he gets the nod. Into The Sunset is a danger despite the long absence and Melvich Bay warrants consideration.

The lightly raced 9yo CHUMLEE was an easy winner on handicap debut over C&D last March, and can build on last month's comeback third.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Brave Ruler showed up well for a long way on his debut here, despite being sent off at 125/1, and he should be more streetwise with that experience under his belt. Jamie Snowden boasts a good strike-rate in bumpers this season, though, and MIDNIGHT VENTURE, whose dam was a dual heavy-ground bumper winner, gets the nod. Leech is likely to make his presence felt, while Andy Amo merits close inspection in the betting ahead of this racecourse bow.

MIDNIGHT VENTURE is out of a bumper winner and her stable has a decent record in this sphere, so could get off to a successful start in a race that doesn't appear all that strong on paper. Andy Amo also makes appeal on pedigree and Jumble Jury should be considered having won a point.

This looks quite a bit easier than the heavy-ground C&D event in which BRAVE RULER finished fourth last month, so he gets the nod.

17:00 Fairyhouse NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

JERSEY DES BROSSES ran a lovely race in his sole point-to-point when a clear second, beaten by a length. The horse that beat him has since won twice over hurdles in Britain and features in the betting for a couple of Grade 1 contests at the Cheltenham Festival. Jersey Des Brosses made 370,000gns at the sales after that point-to-point run, which underlines the potential he has. His trainer Gordon Elliott has landed four of the last seven renewals of this race. Sporting Glory has come home second in both his bumpers. He was beaten a fair way at Down Royal, but got much closer over C&D last month so he is going the right way. Sky Lord is a nicely-bred sort who was only 11/2 for a bumper at Leopardstown over Christmas, but finished unplaced on debut. He has moved to Henry de Bromhead and should come on plenty from that run.

JERSEY DES BROSSES cost a fortune after finishing second in a point and he's fully exposed to make a successful start under Rules in a weak-looking bumper. Sporting Glory is the likeliest to capitalise if the selection underperforms.

The Gordon Elliott-trained JERSEY DES BROSSES looks the one to beat with his point-to-point effort looking very smart

17:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SPARTAN ARMY relished the return to the Flat when winning over 2m at Lingfield a few weeks ago and Alan King's gelding remains the one to beat, despite a 2lb rise in the ratings. Palace Boy has won twice over 1m6f at Wolverhampton in recent months and he has to be of some interest in his bid to go in again. Simiyann's efforts so far this year suggest that he may be able to reward each-way support.

PALACE BOY still looked comfortably ahead of his mark when making it 2 from 2 for this yard at Wolverhampton 5 weeks ago and can complete the hat-trick at the main expense of Spartan Army, who did well to overcome a pace bias at Lingfield. Simiyann caught the eye at Lingfield 2 weeks ago and completes the shortlist.

The way PALACE BOY (nap) drew away when hitting the front over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last time suggests this step up to 2m will suit.

17:20 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Given he has placed twice over this trip, holds experience on Polytrack and is the only runner with an official rating, JUNGLE MAC ticks all the right boxes and has a golden opportunity to break his maiden. Liege, a potential improver with a first-time hood tried on his debut for the Simon Hodgson yard, is feared more than Red Hot Rose and Takeityouremine, who both need a significant step forward to trouble the selection.

JUNGLE MAC possesses by far the best form on offer so Jack Channon's son of Bungle Inthejungle is taken to gain a deserved breakthrough success after three good placed efforts. Liege could emerge as the one to chase him home ahead of Red Hot Rose.

Jack Channon's JUNGLE MAC has been gelded since his last start in October but he's a standout on form, and by a wide margin.

MEMORIES MAKER displayed plenty of promise when beaten just a length into third on his debut over this trip at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and with the benefit of that run behind him, Charlie Johnston's gelding could be very hard to stop. Rob's Umberella is another who arrives here with valid form claims, while Star Studied and Come On Chief are newcomers to note.

MEMORIES MAKER looked the likeliest winner until being undone by greenness at the business end on his recent debut at Newcastle and is well worth siding with to get off the mark at the second attempt with improvement on the cards. Star Studied is clear pick of the newcomers before market clues, while Rob's Umbrella shouldn't be a million miles away if backing up his latest effort.

Preference is for the debutant STAR STUDIED with the yard having had a winning 3yo newcomer here last month.

17:50 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BACK TOMORROW (second) gave away more ground than she was beaten by when finishing two lengths behind Sixties Chic (winner) at Wolverhampton eight days ago and, assuming she breaks a little better, a 6lb pull gives her a live chance of turning the form around. Gogo Yubari impressed when winning over 5f at Lingfield on her penultimate start and can also figure if returning to 6f doesn't stretch her stamina.

BACK TOMORROW has a good chance of reversing recent Wolverhampton placings with Sixties Chic, given that she meets that rival on 6 lb better terms for a two-length beating. Richard Spencer's charge is taken to come out on top this time and while Sixties Chic is by no means discounted, a bigger threat here could be posed by Gogo Yubari.

The key race could be last week's Wolverhampton handicap in which SIXTIES CHIC had a nice bit in hand over Back Tomorrow.

18:05 Southwell Maiden (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The form of MR SWIVELL's Kempton second took a boost when the third-placed horse went in at Wolverhampton, so any further progress might be enough to see James Ferguson's colt shed his maiden tag. 55,000-euro purchase Scottish Breeze is related to a few winners and wouldn't have to be anything out of the ordinary to get involved on debut, while similar comments apply to Normandy Vista.

MR SWIVELL built on debut promise when beaten only by a nicely-bred newcomer at Kempton and can go one place better. Newcomers are likely to be the main threat again, headed by Normandy Vista (whose stablemate beat the selection at Kempton) and Scottish Breeze.

As regards the runners with experience, MR SWIVELL stands out. Normandy Vista and Scottish Breeze are interesting newcomers.

18:20 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Billyjoh ought to be popular after a string of solid efforts but needs another personal best after a 5lb rise for last week's Southwell success puts him on a career-highest mark. With that in mind, CLIPSHAM LA HABANA looks worth chancing off 4lb lower than his peak rating in handicaps so far, with the in-form Billy Loughnane an eye-catching jockey booking. King Cabo is fancied to go well too.

BILLYJOH quickly resumed progress/winning ways at Southwell 9 days ago and looks capable of defying a 5 lb rise. King Cabo is next best, ahead of Clipsham La Habana.

Mick Appleby's BILLYJOH (nap) is building up a good record on AW and can make light of a 5lb rise for last week's Southwell success.

18:35 Southwell Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CUSACK managed to hit the front late on over 7f last time out, for his second Newcastle success in as many starts, and the return to a mile could help him defy a further 4lb hike in the ratings. Star Zinc looks set to provide stern opposition, though, having been well on top at the line at Gosforth Park a week ago. Others to note include Plastic Paddy, Eagle Day and Cavalluccio.

The vote goes to EAGLE DAY, who lost little caste in defeat when third off this mark over 9.5f at Wolverhampton recently and this drop back in trip looks a good move. Plastic Paddy has been knocking on the door of late and is second choice ahead of Star Zinc, who hit the target at Newcastle last weekend, and the hat-trick seeking Cusack.

Recent Newcastle winners Cusack and Star Zinc (second choice) are high on the list but EAGLE DAY may be the answer back at 1m.

18:50 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of NIGHT OF DESIRE, who showed plenty of promise on her debut at Wolverhampton as she went well for a long way over further before weakening late on. The drop in trip should suit and she gets the vote ahead of the well-bred Little Rose and newcomer Covehithe, who is a half-sister to Benacre, a talented two-year-old for the stable.

NIGHT OF DESIRE shaped well when a debut fourth at Wolverhampton and looks the way to go with improvement very much on the cards from Marco Botti's daughter of Night of Thunder. Charlie Johnston's Magna Grecia debutante Covehithe appeals on paper and could prove the main danger, although both Little Rose and Dame Darcey offer some potential too.

The percentage call is NIGHT OF DESIRE on the back of her promising opening run at Wolverhampton.

19:20 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Narrowly denied over C&D last time out, CHOLA EMPIRE can gain compensation on this occasion off a 3lb higher mark. He can end a losing streak dating back to last January with Jamie Spencer taking over in the saddle, while old rivals Love De Vega and recent Kempton scorer Ultramarine could fight it out for the places. Remarkable Force has run with credit since joining new connections and he cannot be ruled out either.

LOVE DE VEGA has held his form well in recent months and could be the answer returned to the scene of his latest success in January when proving ½-length too good for the re-opposing Ultramarine, a rival he actually now meets on 5 lb better terms. The latter hit the target at Kempton three weeks ago and should be in the mix once more but Letmelivemylife, who was fourth in that handicap, may well reverse those placings back at a course where he has a good record.

Letmelivemylife is tempting back at Chelmsford but preference is for LOVE DE VEGA, a 7f specialist with solid recent form.

H KEY LAILS arrives here on the back of two narrow second-placed finishes over C&D earlier in the month and, off just a 1lb higher mark, the four-year-old could return to winning ways here. That said, Split Elevens was not far behind the selection last time and he should not be discounted, while Edmund Ironside and Further Measure also merit places on the shortlist.

Having gone close over C&D the last twice, H KEY LAILS is taken to deservedly get his head back in front. Reverberation didn't do much wrong when third over 1¼m here on Thursday and will be a threat if taking his chance, while the selection's stablemate Edmund Ironside is best of the rest.

Boom Boom Pow has not been beaten far on her last couple of starts and it would be no surprise to see her in the mix once again, while Beneficiary edges out Stroxx to be best of the rest.

Mark Usher's BOOM BOOM POW is one of the few to come here in excellent order so can resume winning ways at the chief expense of the consistent Beneficiary. Stroxx remains winless after 46 goes but can't be discounted either on the back of his good recent Wolverhampton second.

Beneficiary can go well back at 5f but TILSWORTH ONY TA has won twice here this winter and can go in again.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
