Golden Shot

(4) Golden Shot 0.73/1, One win from 2 runs this year. Latest win at Ayr in July. 8/11, creditable second of 10 in handicap at York (16.2f, good) 10 days ago. Still has low mileage and bold show likely, provided he goes on the ground.
Has to prove he can do it on different ground but he's open to improvement; shortlisted.

Russian Rumour

10/1(+29%)
(6) Russian Rumour 10/1, Latest win at Bath in June. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Newbury (16f, good to soft, 9/2) 12 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Looks vulnerable from a win point of view.
Fine on any ground and enjoying a consistent season; hard to knock her out of calculations.
3
3rd (1) Captain Kane (6.5/1 -44%)
Captain Kane

6.5/1(-44%)
(1) Captain Kane 6.5/1, Eight wins from 23 Flat runs. Career best when winning 6-runner handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (15.8f, AW) 21 days ago, overcoming pace bias. 3 lb rise shouldn't be an issue but conditions may be a problem, if the ground remains on the slow side.
Conditions would have to be a worry; there's little wiggle room off this mark anyway.

4th (3) Monsieur Lambrays (16/1 +11%)
Monsieur Lambrays

16/1(+11%)
(3) Monsieur Lambrays 16/1, Temperamental sort. Seventeen runs since last win in 2020. 33/1, last of 7 in handicap at Goodwood (16f, good to firm) 58 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Best to look elsewhere. Yard also saddles Grandmaster Flash.
This is easier than he's used to and the two-month break looks in his favour if anything.
5th
5th (5) Black Kalanisi (22/1 -100%)
Black Kalanisi

22/1(-100%)
(5) Black Kalanisi 22/1, Good second of 13 in handicap at York (16.2f, good to firm, 4/1). Off 13 months but resumes for new yard on an attractive mark and it'll be interesting to see how he shapes up in the market.
Into the veteran stage, back from 13 months off, and returns looking high in the weights.
6th
6th (7) Grandmaster Flash (40/1 -122%)
Grandmaster Flash

40/1(-122%)
(7) Grandmaster Flash 40/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. 11/1, last of 8 in handicap at Sandown (14f, good to firm) 52 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Gary Moore. Opposable.
Ground fine but off since said to have stopped quickly on his final run for Gary Moore.
7th
7th (2) Lexington Knight (6.5/1 -30%)
Lexington Knight

6.5/1(-30%)
(2) Lexington Knight 6.5/1, Latest win at Newcastle in July. 9/2, fourth of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (12f, soft) 24 days ago. Booking of Simon Walker an obvious selling point but, consistent though this 5-y-o is, he is probably a shade too high in the weights at present.
Has never won a handicap off a mark this high; Simon Walker an obvious plus though.
8th
8th (8) Thefastnthecurious (7.5/1 +53%)
Thefastnthecurious

7.5/1(+53%)
(8) Thefastnthecurious 7.5/1, 11/4, last of 5 in handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 47 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Richard Spencer and, having slipped back to her last winning mark, she could have a part to play if on-song.
This ground is an unknown for her new yard, having been picked up recently for 2,700gns.
LTO Selection:

14:35 Ffos Las Handicap (Class 4) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOLDEN SHOT only just found an improving rival too good at York last Saturday and, although a 5lb higher mark in this contest makes life harder, the four-year-old likely has more races in him this season. Captain Kane is only 3lb higher than last month's all-weather success at Lingfield and merits respect on this switch to turf, while any market support for stable/seasonal debutant Black Kalanisi would increase interest in the veteran.

The one with the most compelling claims is GOLDEN SHOT, who went down all guns blazing at York recently and a 5 lb rise for that near-miss looks fair given that he pulled clear of the rest. This drop back in trip may help offset the forecast slower ground but the prospect of a slow surface is worry where Captain Kane is concerned, but for which he would've been very tempting on the back of his Lingfield success 3 weeks ago. Thefastnthecurious makes some each-way appeal.

Russian Rumour (second choice) has less to prove than most but GOLDEN SHOT remains open to improvement.

Dam well related; gelded ahead of debut and looks best watched.
LTO Selection:

14:50 Catterick Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The penny dropped late on for ICE MAX on his debut, as he hit the line well to finish fourth at Haydock in what was a highly-promising start to his career. The son of Dark Angel should have plenty more to come and he could prove tough to beat. His stablemate Respectful could be the biggest threat after finishing fifth behind subsequent winner Vandeek, who took the Richmond last week. Any market support for the 50,000gns purchase Veiled Illusion should be noted.

ICE MAX produced a promising first effort when fourth in a Haydock novice event over this trip 17 days ago and, well bred and in good hands, he earns the vote to take a step forward and come out on top. Veiled Illusion rates an interesting newcomer for James Tate whilst the selection's stablemate, Respectful, who was fifth behind a subsequent Group 2 winner on debut is another to note. Buttercross Flyer completes the shortlist.

Ice Max is preferred of those with experience but VEILED ILLUSION represents a yard that has done well here with its 2yos.

LTO Selection:

15:05 Ffos Las Maiden (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There were plenty of positives to be taken from DEVIL'S POINT fifth-placed finish on debut at Sandown last month and the David Menuisier-trained colt could take some stopping with that experience under his belt. Daring Legend appears to be the main threat of those with race experience, but newcomers Going The Distance and Castle In The Sand are potential fly in the ointments. The pair could give the selection most to think about and shouldn't be underestimated.

It looked a strong novice event in which expensive purchase DEVIL'S POINT finished a promising fifth on last month's debut at Sandown and, with improvement on the cards, he earns the vote ahead of likely-looking newcomers Castle In The Sand and Going The Distance. The shortlist is completed by Daring Legend, who was gambled on and duly left his debut form well behind when fourth at Kempton and should have more to offer.

Devil's Point sets the standard but stable form would be a slight worry and maybe GOING THE DISTANCE will be up to the job on debut

LTO Selection:

15:25 Catterick Stakes (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RUM RUNNER has been unlucky to fill the runner-up spot on each of his last three starts, with the latest of those efforts coming at Beverley in a class 6 handicap and he should be more than capable of taking a race of this nature in his current mood. Doomsday won't make it easy for the selection after finishing second in a similar event at a big price in first-time cheekpieces at Musselburgh, while last-time-out Wolverhampton winner Tea Garden could have a say if transferring her recent form to the turf.

Preference is for TEA GARDEN, who got back to winning ways under this pilot at Wolverhampton last month and is relatively unexposed on turf. Doomsday and Rum Runner can also make their presnce felt.

The choice is C&D winner SPARTAKOS who is ideally suited by 7f on slow ground. Run Runner should also go well.

LTO Selection:

15:40 Ffos Las Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

COVERT MISSION proved a revelation when given a more aggressive ride to score comfortably at Lingfield last Monday and the five-year-old is hard to oppose in his quest to complete a quick-fire double off 5lb higher. Island Native was far more competitive on his handicap debut when runner-up at Brighton in May and likely has more in the locker this season. Heather Main's charge may emerge as the chief threat, ahead of in-form pair Kynsa and Thewaytothestars.

COVERT MISSION scored in comfortable fashion on easy ground at Leicester last week and a 5 lb penalty doesn't look prohibitive. He can follow up. Kynsa and Thewaytothestars are feared most.

Irish raider Amemri is respected but KYNSA's two placed efforts in handicaps have been well advertised since and she's preferred.

LTO Selection:

16:00 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HELLENISTA ran very well in this grade on her penultimate start when she was beaten just under a length into second by a subsequent winner. The daughter of Nathaniel is only 1lb higher now, following her fourth at York in a class 4 event, and she looks capable of making the most of this drop in class. Spantik was over four lengths clear of the third when second over C&D last time and he has to be considered off the same mark. Of the remainder, Easter Icon makes the most appeal as he drops back to his last winning mark.

A number with claims, including SPANTIK who again ran with credit when runner-up over C&D 4 weeks ago and could be worth siding with to capitalise on his reduced mark. Lord Torranaga similarly arrives in good heart and is feared, with Oh So Chic, returned to this venue, and Hellenista others worth a look.

Lord Torranaga is feared but HELLENISTA ran in a Class 4 handicap at York last time won by the very progressive Robert Johnson.

LTO Selection:

16:15 Ffos Las Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

O G BEACHWEAR has not been beaten far on any of her three starts to date and Hugo Palmer's filly has been found an ideal opportunity to get off the mark here. That said, Margaret's Fuchsia was only beaten a head in handicap company last time and should not be underestimated, while Done Decision cannot be discounted on his belated racecourse debut.

O G BEACHWEAR has posted fair form in all 3 outings to date and looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark here. Margaret's Fuchsia is the obvious danger.

It's unlikely that O G BEACHWEAR will ever be found a better opening. The market will help with newcomer Done Decision.

LTO Selection:

16:35 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DOCTOR MOZART posted a respectable second on the all-weather at Wolverhampton on Friday and David Evans' inmate must hold every chance now reverting to turf off a 4lb lower mark. Yazaman ran his best race yet for new connections when runner-up at Pontefract recently and is another to consider on this quick turnaround off 1lb lower in the ratings. The in-form Shark Two also looks capable of succeeding at this level and completes the shortlist.

WADE'S MAGIC has been eased in the weights since his creditable third here last month and gets the nod in a tricky-looking contest. Doctor Mozart and Shark Two One should also go well.

The 5yo YAZAMAN is unquestionably frustrating but there's every chance that this will be run to suit him.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Ffos Las Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A case can be made for all of these but none more so than HITCHED, who has won two of his last three starts. David Simcock's three-year-old is only 2lb higher than the most recent of those victories and that may underestimate the progressive gelding. Night Moon is an interesting Irish raider who put in a career best last time, while City Escape is the pick of the remainder.

Preference is for Irish raider NIGHT MOON, who upped his game when fourth at Killarney last month and remains low mileage. Hitched is chasing his third win of the season and rates the principal danger.

Hitched needs to settle up from 1m but there are no stamina concerns for Irish raider NIGHT MOON (nap), who did better last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

JAMIL appeared to win a shade cosily here in late July and a 4lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to prevent the eight-year-old from landing a fifth C&D success. Valley Of Flowers was behind the selection in second that day and is feared most off the same mark in this contest, while Trusty Scout, who likely found 1m3f at Hamilton on the sharp side last month, is likely to find this 1m4f more suitable.

Not a great deal of pace on and with that in mind it could pay to side with Lingfield scorer THIS ONES FOR FRED. He responded well to a positive ride when accounting for 7 rivals that day and a 3 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid from the front back on turf. Old rivals Valley of Flowers and Jamil rate next best, whilst Odd Venture isn't out of things either.

With his stable in fine form at present, KING HARRY can win on his first start since being gelded. Valley Of Flowers is next best.

17:20 Ffos Las Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MOULIN BOOJ got off the mark at the sixth attempt at Wolverhampton last week and a reproduction of that level of form would make him hard to beat here, despite the 6lb penalty. Reve De Magritte was useful when trained in France and a mark of 62 should be workable on her UK debut. Rhubarb and Exquisitely both have claims but the former is just the pick of the pair.

RHUBARB is now 5 lb below her last winning mark and, though 0-9 so far this year, she could be the answer. Richard Price's charge is marginally preferred to Moulin Booj, who did the job well on the all-weather last week and will be a serious threat if able to back that up now returned to turf. Exquisitely has a bit to prove but is on an appealing mark based on her 2-y-o exploits and may be a bigger threat to the aforementioned duo than French import Reve de Magritte.

Conditions are a niggle with MOULIN BOOJ but he's the progressive one and is taken to follow up under the 6lb penalty.

17:30 Roscommon Maiden Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GENTLE AND KIND did well to finish second on her first run for 811 days last month. A 2021 point-to-point winner for Paul Power, the winner of her recent Kilbeggan race subsequently finished fourth in a smart Listed hurdle at Galway and the selection could improve, with trip and easy ground in her favour. Givago represents Willie Mullins and Paul Townend but showed little on his recent bumper debut, despite starting odds-on. His rider reported he 'made a respiratory noise six furlongs out' and while almost sure to improve, he debuts over jumps against a more experienced selection. Getaway Charlie is suited by soft and stays well but faces a slightly stiffer task than second at Cork. Tullybawn has moved yards since an encouraging second at Downpatrick (from which the third horse won since) but also faces a tougher test. Patricks Hill is lightly raced but has bits of useful form, although he received 8lb from the first two horses at Killarney last month. Noble Blue and Skradin need to improve, while Lake Winnipesaukee debuts over hurdles.

GENTLE AND KIND made an encouraging belated Rules debut when runner-up at Kilbeggan last month and is the percentage call to back up that effort and go one better. Tullybawn and Skradin head the opposition.

Preference is for GENTLE AND KIND who should have improved from her belated hurdling debut at Kilbeggan.

LTO Selection:

17:45 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Shesadabber recorded a first success of the season when making all and holding on by a neck at Bath recently, but the daughter of Heeraat could be worth taking on now burdened with a 4lb penalty. MRS BAGERRAN has been in fine form of late and a reproduction of her latest C&D second may be good enough for Tracy Waggott's five-year-old to regain the winning thread. Last-time-out winner Golden Gal and Zoom Star also enter the equation.

GOLDEN GAL quickly dispelled a lesser effort over 6f when resuming winning ways from another on a good mark at Beverley (5f) 3 weeks ago and, operating from the same mark as when landing this corresponding race 12 months ago, all looks set fair for another bold showing from what is likely to prove a handy draw. Shesadabber, runner-up to the selection 12 months ago, comes here thriving for David Evans and along with two-time C&D winner Zoom Star, heads up the dangers.

Shesadabber is not opposed lightly under a penalty but the vote goes to GOLDEN GAL (nap), who won this off the same mark last year.

LTO Selection:

18:00 Roscommon Maiden Hurdle 15f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

HASHTAG PRETENDER is long absent but is capable and has form on soft. Bought for 80,000 euros following a debut Flat win in his native France in November 2020, he ran well in a useful Killarney hurdle last August and while he has had a training setback, bypassed last week's Galway Festival for this lesser target. Reverend Hubert is interesting for Charles Byrnes, who won this contest in 2016. Rated in the 80s on the Flat in the UK, he is ground-versatile and while he also stays well, might ideally prefer a longer distance over hurdles, is long-absent and has no jumping experience. Ballycallan King was the subject of a running and riding enquiry over course and distance last month but was nonetheless well held by the winner, who conceded 15lb. Pahlavi has been well held in his two completed hurdle runs and would ideally prefer good ground. Notodaybobo and Tideways Hero have similar profiles in that both have been well held in two recent hurdles and might prefer good ground. Extensio won last year's Apprentice Derby and should be suited by National Hunt distances but makes his jumps debut and is more effective on fast ground.

BALLYCALLAN KING holds the edge on the form of his recent second here and with more progress on the cards he gets the vote. Extensio was a fairly useful winner on the level so could emerge as the chief threat now starting out in this sphere, with the returning Hashtag Pretender and Bellewstown fourth Pahlavi two more to consider.

If HASHTAG PRETENDER is able to reproduce the form of his Killarney maiden hurdle second from last year then he can win this.

LTO Selection:

18:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TEMPER TRAP has secured a double recently and he is hard to oppose in his bid for a hat-trick, even with 5lb extra to carry. Jewel Of Kabeir showed a lot more on her return to the fray when third at Beverley last month and she goes off 1lb lower here. Chagall's success at Lingfield last time over 1m2f also gives him an obvious chance.

TEMPER TRAP looks the way to go under a 5 lb penalty on the back of his recent Hamilton success as he attempts to repeat his win here 12 months ago. Lingfield victor Chagall can chase home Tim Easterby's 6-y-o ahead of in-form pair Bay Dream Believer and Antagonize.

Chagall is greatly respected but TEMPER TRAP (nap) is back in the groove now and he can complete a quick hat-trick.

18:20 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ARCADIAN FRIEND was only beaten a nose into second over 2m at Lingfield three weeks ago and a 2lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop him from going one better here. Capricorn Prince has made the frame on his last couple of starts and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Longuerue.

This could be messy but ARCADIAN FRIEND looked all over a winner-in-waiting again at Lingfield 3 weeks ago and is hard to get away from under Alice Keighley (26% strike rate and 3-6 on AW). Capricorn Prince looks the danger.

Preference is for CAPRICORN PRINCE who is yet to win here but has run well on most occasions and is 7-21 on Polytrack.

18:30 Roscommon Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SECRET ARTIST is a notable runner for Charles Byrnes, who bashed the bookies in this corresponding race in 2019. Lightly raced, his bumper form was slightly better than his current 100 hurdle rating and while well held on handicap debut last December, takes a big step up in distance, likes testing ground and his rider claims 5lb. Dancing Jeremy was beaten 3 1/4 lengths by Fill The Tank at Limerick last month but is now 12lb better off and might reverse the placings. Dancing Jeremy is well suited by this distance, as well as soft ground, and has been running consistently well. Gotthenod is a likeable six-time hurdle winner who is ground-versatile and should run well. Appian Way would prefer a sound surface but stays well and had a nice run on the Flat recently. Hand Over Fist, Ballyglass Beauty and Steps Match are all consistent and capable at this level but would prefer good ground. More Info is ground-versatile and has been running well, while Hidalgo Des Mottes would probably prefer good ground and runs in first-time cheekpieces.

The pick of several plausible candidates in this competitive handicap could be BALLYGLASS BEAUTY, who returned to form when scoring at Sligo in June and ran at least as well in defeat at the same course last month. Steps Match regained the winning thread over this C&D last time and is likely to be bang there once again, while fellow last-time-out winner Hand Over Fist is also shortlisted. Secret Artist is unexposed in this sphere and is another to consider.

APPIAN WAY finished lame on debut for this yard but a recent Flat outing could have set him up nicely for this.

18:40 Ripon Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Seven Questions and FIGHTING WREN may dominate this race, with preference for the latter after her pleasing debut effort at York. The daughter of Showcasing showed signs of inexperience on that occasion and did well in the circumstances to finish fifth. Seven Questions brings solid form to the table but does have to carry a 7lb penalty for his win at Yarmouth. Any market support for the 36,000-pound purchase Spanish Rock should be noted.

The market could prove highly revealing here but George Scott's improving SEVEN QUESTIONS is taken to defy a 7 lb penalty for his recent Yarmouth victory with that form having been franked. Newcomers Jersey Rocs (second choice) and Spanish Rock both offer plenty of potential though and are in good hands too so demand plenty of respect, especially if the betting speaks in their favour.

Seven Questions sets the standard but the ground is a query and it may be worth chancing STASH THE CASH with his debut behind him.

18:50 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Grey Gray has to be respected following her Musselburgh victory on Friday but a 6lb penalty for that success will make her life tougher. With that in mind, preference is for HAPPY TEARS, who has shown plenty of promise in maiden company and an opening mark of 72 may underestimate the daughter of Dandy Man. The rest all have claims but Desert Master is arguably the pick of them.

GREY GRAY resumed progress returned to this trip when always doing enough at Musselburgh on Friday and she looks capable of defying a penalty. Desert Master shaped better than the distance beaten suggests on her nursery bow at Yarmouth so may emerge as the biggest threat now switched to AW.

Grey Gray is a major player but she takes on an interesting opponent in nursery-debutante HAPPY TEARS who is bred to handle the AW.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Roscommon Maiden Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

GENTLEMAN JOE has the potential to make up into a smart chaser this season if taking to fences. Listed-placed on the Flat when trained in Britain, the five-year-old took time to win over hurdles but finally put it all together when getting off the mark at Clonmel in May. The very fact connections have taken the decision to switch to chasing without another run over flights suggest that they feel this is where his future lies. Tom Cooper appears to have similar intentions with former dual French winner Garrybello. The five-year-old made his Irish debut in a Grade 2 Hurdle at Fairyhouse last April, so is clearly well regarded. He ran his best race in this country to date when fourth at Killarney last time. Gracchus De Balme was rated the highest of these over flights but will need to brush up his jumping after failing to complete on his first two starts over fences.

A useful sort over hurdles, GRACCHUS DE BALME failed to complete on both starts over fences last term but there was definite promise on the first of those and he could well be worth siding with to get back on track in these calmer waters. Gentleman Joe, successful over hurdles at Clonmel last time, is feared on chase debut with Garrybello and Hope des Blins also expected to be on the premises.

The suggestion is GENTLEMAN JOE, who despite his Flat background, has the size and scope to do well over fences.

19:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GRANNY BUDGIE failed to justify favouritism in a novice event at Lingfield last time, but she was far from disgraced in fourth on that occasion. The daughter of Massaat may be underestimated by an opening mark of 73, considering her debut victory at Nottingham. Alfa Whiteburd has decent form on soft ground and he could have a big say here. Of the remainder, Marie's Secret makes the most appeal on her nursery bow.

LOCHABER gave the strong impression this step up to 6f would suit when a running-on fourth at Musselburgh last time so gets the nod in an open-looking nursery. Granny Budgie is feared most now stepping into handicap company for the first time, although Chat Up Line is also weighted to have a big say.

Granny Budgie is greatly respected but MARIE'S SECRET looks a likely improver now handicapping at a modest level.

LTO Selection:

19:20 Chelmsford Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MYSTERIOUS SOUL was not disgraced on his debut at Lingfield a month ago and, with the benefit of that experience, it would be no surprise to see the son of Kuroshio get off the mark at the second attempt. Vice Captain arguably sets the form standard and has to be of interest in a first-time hood, while Haya Taal and Royal Hussar complete the shortlist.

ROYAL HUSSAR stepped up massively on his debut when fifth at Newcastle so could be the answer to this weak maiden in a change of headgear with main rivals Vice Captain and Haya Taal not progressing.

The vote goes to ROYAL HUSSAR who wasn't beaten far at Newcastle last time when shaping as though this longer trip should suit.

19:30 Roscommon Handicap Chase 21f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

The lightly-raced ROYAL JUNIPER shaped well enough on his recent handicap debut to suggest he can get his head in front at this level. A former point-to-point winner, the Tony Martin-trained gelding had struggled in hunter chases but looked a different horse on his return from a break. Denis O'Regan, who was on board the seven-year-old at Kilbeggan last time, retains the ride here. The Eye Of Tulla had been very consistent prior to disappointing at Tipperary last time. The Brian McMahon-trained seven-year-old should be capable of a big run in a grade where he has already proven himself. Agirlcalledchloe was unfortunate to bump into a well handicapped horse on her latest start at Tipperary. She, too, holds strong claims in a winnable race.

Preference is for NORWIGI, who has been given a chance by the handicapper and shaped well in a similar event at Killarney last month. Royal Juniper and Seskin Flyer head the list of dangers.

Kilbeggan winner Siskin Flyer isn't obvious follow-up material and the fourth ROYAL JUNIPER is chanced over this longer distance.

LTO Selection:

19:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SEENDID struggled in a valuable handicap at Newmarket last month but a 4lb drop in the ratings, combined with these calmer waters, should only help William Haggas' colt. Baileys Khelstar is likely to prove popular after running a fine race in defeat at Yarmouth last Tuesday and isn't taken lightly off the same mark, with Dasho Lennie and Whispering Royal making some appeal too.

None of these can be ruled out but BAILEYS KHELSTAR shaped well when runner-up at Yarmouth a week ago and can go one better here off an unchanged mark. Whispering Royal could emerge as the main danger now his stamina is drawn out more, with Dasho Lennie and Seendid both in the picture too.

Whispering Royal can do better over this trip but BAILEYS KHELSTAR is preferred after a near miss at Yarmouth last week.

LTO Selection:

19:50 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Irish Dessert hit the frame at Leicester on his latest outing, which was his best performance to date and he has to be considered off 1lb lower. However, he will need to transfer that form to the all-weather and, for that reason, three-time course winner MONAADHIL just shades the vote. The nine-year-old did well to finish fifth over C&D last month, as the race seemed to favour prominent runners, so that performance can be upgraded and he ought to go close off a 1lb lower rating. Flying Barty looks best of the rest.

MONAADHIL can enhance his excellent record here with a fourth C&D success. Irish Dessert is the obvious threat on the back of his very good third at Leicester, with Thomas Equinas best of the others.

Despite taking on rivals less than half his age this looks a good opportunity for MONAADHIL (nap) to record C&D win number four.

LTO Selection:

20:00 Roscommon Handicap Chase 25f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KILMURRY JJ can register the first win of his career on his debut for new connections. The six-year-old has gone close on his last two starts for his previous trainer, including when runner-up here over hurdles last month. Terence O'Brien is wasting no time in sending the Imperial Monarch gelding straight over fences on his initial outing for the stable. Fr Gilligansyoyge is an infrequent winner but has been in the form of his life recently at the age of 10. The son of Yeats was runner-up at Kilbeggan last time and a reproduction if that effort would see him go very close in this company. Tullyhogue Fort, a winner at Tipperary last month, is another with a solid chance in what looks quite an open contest.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and FR GILLIGANSVOYGE is fancied to go one better than his recent very good second at Kilbeggan. Tullyhogue Fort rates the main danger now back in this sphere, although chasing newcomer Kilmurry JJ can't be discounted given his fairly useful hurdling form.

Fr Gilligansvoyge and Rudy Catrail are players but TECH TALK (nap) has lower mileage and returning to 3m is a positive.

LTO Selection:

20:10 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Latin Five has proven to be a consistent performer of late and is likely to be in the mix once again but preference is for SPANISH ANGEL. Ruth Carr's six-year-old won at Wolverhampton in July and can go one place better than his recent runner-up effort at Beverley. High Opinion was behind the selection in fourth that day and is a viable alternative, along with Malham Tarn Cove.

HIGH OPINION has edged back down to the mark off which he hit the target under similar conditions at Nottingham during the autumn, and the 4-y-o looks ready to strike judged on his recent efforts. Latin Five's turn also appears to be near and he is feared most ahead of the consistent Spanish Angel. Also worth a second look is Albegone, who has yet to get going this season but is lurking on a dangerous mark.

High Opinion should make a bold bid up the rail but SPANISH ANGEL is taken to exploit his lower turf mark.

20:20 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NEXT SECOND showed much improved form on her latest outing, as she kept on to finish a close second over 5f at Wolverhampton, and the handicapper has kindly only raised her 1lb for that effort, which may not be enough to prevent her from going one better. Struck Gold is a real threat as he put in some decent displays at Wolverhampton prior to his seventh at Newcastle last week and he remains feasibly treated. Milvus is another to consider after his fifth off 2lb higher at Leicester.

NEXT SECOND returned to form from out of the blue when second at Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago and a reproduction of that effort can see her go one better. Q Twenty Boy and Struck Gold head the dangers.

The choice is MILVUS who looks interesting with the drop in trip/grade in his favour. He is also well drawn next to the inside rail.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PINKY sets the standard here having finished a creditable third on her racecourse debut at Down Royal in June. The Emmet Mullins-trained filly missed an engagement at Galway during the week but should find this an easier assignment. Granted normal improvement from her initial run, the daughter of Policy Maker should take some beating. Can't Resist It ran a big race on his introduction at Killarney last month, travelling easily before weakening late on. With the benefit of that experience, it would be no great surprise to see an improved performance here. Portcammon has to be a serious contender on his racecourse debut. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary in order to make his presence felt in this company.

PORTCAMMON can make a winning start in what looks an ordinary bumper. Can't Resist It and Pinky both showed ability first time out and can make the frame again.

Pinky and Can't Resist It have shown winning potential but there are some interesting debutants, notably PORTCAMMON.

Down in the weights but he's an exposed maiden who has to prove himself on the ground.
LTO Selection:

20:40 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PROFITABLE EDGE finished a very respectable second on her seasonal/stable debut at Redcar in June and the daughter of Profitable appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to record a first success. Your Spirit has made the frame the last twice and a further 1lb drop in the ratings makes Paul Midgley's filly of interest too, while C&D winner Jazzagal may do best of the remainder.

JAZZAGAL was behind Your Spirit at Beverley last time but it would be unwise to read too much into that, since she was at a disadvantage racing on the near side whereas Your Spirit was on the favoured far side. Back at the scene of her nursery success off a 2 lb higher mark last summer, Tim Easterby's charge is taken to make it 2-2 over this C&D. Irish import Profitable Edge put in a good shift on debut for new connections at Redcar in June but the forecast slower ground here is a concern.

Profitable Edge will be hard to beat if handling the ground but C&D winner JAZZAGAL is marginally preferred off a tempting mark.

LTO Selection:

20:50 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Yeoman made it two wins from as many visits to Wolverhampton when scoring by a neck over an extended 1m last time and he should be suited by this extra yardage, but he has been raised 4lb for that neck success. With that in mind, the vote goes to MUDSKIPPER, who shaped as if a step up in trip is just what is needed on his latest outing at Sandown over a mile and, with the addition of first-time cheekpieces another possible source of improvement, he could go close off 1lb lower. Beautifulasalways has William Buick booked, which suggests more can be expected on only her second handicap start.

FOREST DEMON looks ready to strike having gone close the last twice. Improving last-time-out winners Fleur de Mer and Yeoman are big threats, while Born Ruler is worth another chance.

This can go to WADACRE GOMEZ who won well at Newcastle in April and appreciated the return to the AW when third over C&D last time.
