Although yet to get off the mark, KELINA JOSSELYN (11) has nevertheless shown a lot of potential and if she takes to the Chartres profile, she should be in a position to lose her maiden tag. Principal danger is expected to come from KSAR VRIE (6) who opened his account three weeks ago at the first time of asking, and the tricky KAPORAL KADESH (8) who got off the mark at Cherbourg last month. KOPECK DE CHENU (7) will figure prominently if he can handle going left-handed.

JUNIOR STEED (7) though is also an attractive proposition given how well he acquitted himself here late April and with hind shoes off this time looks a sharper prospect. Even though it is never an easy thing to give away distance at Chartres, it is hard to see ISLAND STAR (12) being beaten after having secured three solid victories in succession. She is unlikely to have it entirely all her own way though with the better-positioned ILLUSTRE SAX (4) recently having found his form. INVICTUM DU NOYER (10) caught the eye here on his last start and should again be competitive, as should the in-form INDIE BAKALAIKA (3) who has shown considerable improvement lately.

After just the one re-entry race, HURON (11) has been in excellent shape since and even though on the second line, he still looks good enough to confirm his Amiens victory. That said, HOSCOTTE DE MAUPAS (8) is as consistent as they come and with a 25m head-start will bid to end her streak of second places. HAPPY DANOVER (10) left a fine impression here last month and can make the frame this time. Recent winner in the provinces, HANACK DE VIVOIN (4) is another for the shortlist.

A fairly homogenous group this but a tentative nod still goes to FEUX VERTS (7) who has made fine progress since returning from his extended layoff. Hugues Monthule will want to be wary of the hardy FRISSON DU QUESNE (5) who set a personal best when winning at La Capelle last month, and the faithful GIANT MADRIK (1) who seldom puts a foot out of place. Very adept on these tighter circuits, FILOU SMILING (11) is one not to be ignored.
