13:32 Chepstow (Class 4) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although entitled to plenty of respect, a 7lb penalty coupled with a quick turnaround could be the undoing of the recent Ludlow winner Hold Your Fort, and it is MY GIFT TO YOU that shades preference. James Owen's gelding is 7lb higher than when winning over hurdles at Warwick last month but having been more effective as a chaser previously, further success may await him. Others to note include Safe Destination and Ajp Kingdom.

This can go to DEEP PURPLE, who has a solid record since switched to fences this summer. Old rival Ajp Kingdom is second choice.

14:07 Chepstow (Class 3) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A contest that is likely to go the way of SETTLE DOWN JILL. Dan Skelton's mare was well held in second at Market Rasen most recently, but that was her first start following wind surgery. Progress is likely and she wouldn't need a massive amount to come out on top. That said, Riviera Walk contested a couple of warm bumpers last season and has to be of interest now sent hurdling, while Nana Noodleman appeals most of the remainder.

Although a beaten favourite the last twice, SETTLE DOWN JILL may have bumped into a good one last time.

14:42 Chepstow (Class 1) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Despite the absence, this should be an excellent opportunity for BLUEKING D'OROUX. Paul Nicholls' gelding was a talented individual over the smaller obstacles, emphasised by his win in the Grade 2 Select Hurdle at Sandown in April. Although lacking the chasing experience of these rivals, he has upwards of 16lb in hand on official ratings and sets a high standard now tackling a fence for the first time. Speculatrix already has a win to her name over fences but so does Doyen Quest, and they would appear to head the challenge.

This is all about BLUEKING D'OROUX who could be destined for big things as a novice chaser and should win this.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Sam Thomas looks to have an ideal candidate in the shape of CELTIC DINO, who was last seen finishing third in a handicap hurdle at Aintree in April. A winner of two of his five starts in this sphere last season, the six-year-old remains open to plenty of improvement and is preferred to Tutti Quanti, who progressed from a respectable effort in the Supreme to score easily at Ffos Las in April. Runner-up in a Listed handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival, Wilful completes the shortlist with Listentoyourheart.

A commendable third on his handicap debut at Aintree in April, CELTIC DINO (nap) can give Sam Thomas another Welsh Champion Hurdle win.

Not many arrive here with strong recent form, but MOUNT TEMPEST fits the bill after a taking success at Worcester last month, for which he has only been raised 4lb. Champion jockey Sean Bowen being in the saddle is another plus, and it may be that Riskintheground gives him the most to think about having been a creditable fourth in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen last time out. C&D winner Saint Segal is capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Dan Skelton runs five and his jockey bookings suggest a big run is likely from JET PLANE, who did well in hunter chases last season.

Bucephalus had little difficulty in following up his Newbury triumph when making light work of the opposition over C&D in February. However, the assessor has reacted with a 9lb hike and the eight-year-old may be worth taking on. The Twiston-Davies' yard have their string in fine fettle at present and the returning MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE makes plenty of appeal. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Crossgales King posted creditable efforts in defeat here and at Ayr in the spring and should put his experience to good use. However, there are some intriguing Rules debutants on show and it could be worth taking a chance on point-to-point winner COOLTOBECARELESS. Dan Skelton's charge boasts plenty of speed in his pedigree and looks capable of playing a large role in this discipline. Lancelot D'alene and Lake Tiberias could make their presence felt too.

The suggestion is LAKE TIBERIAS, a half-brother to Ahorsewithnoname who did so well under both codes for Nicky Henderson.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
