(6) Umming N' Ahing
4William CarsonBill TurnerIn fine form on slow ground last spring; now 4lb lower than for the third of his wins but his form tailed off last year and he was behind a couple of today's rivals on last month's return at Wolverhampton; others are more appealing.
(4) Pop Dancer
7Pat CosgraveTony CarrollTwo C&D wins to his name; not at his best the last twice and although he's on a fair mark, others look more appealing today.
4th (5) Antiphon
5Georgia DobieMike Murphy & Michael KeadyLast spring's Windsor win (5f, soft) came off a 3lb higher mark; wouldn't judge him too harshly on last month's Southwell return and he should be seen to better effect here.
(7) Mary Of Modena
5Paddy BradleyMichael AttwaterC&D winner; two soft-ground 5f wins last season and rounded off her 4yo campaign with a second over C&D off this mark in October; she'll need to be at concert pitch to win this back from six months off though.
1st (9) Conquistador
4Jack DoughtyStuart WilliamsRated 24lb higher at this stage last year; disappointing for new yard over the winter but there was a bit more encouragement in a Class 6 at Chelmsford last week; type to capitalise on his lowly mark soon.
3rd (8) Secret Handsheikh
6Kaiya FraserJohn GallagherTwo C&D wins last year, including this race off a 1lb lower mark; down the field in two AW runs this year but not beaten far last time and he should be spot on for his repeat bid.
(2) Skallywag Bay
4Sam HitchcottRichard Hannon3-6 on AW as opposed to 0-10 on turf but she's fully effective on the grass (including good to soft); promising return to action at Wolverhampton 19 days ago; each-way claims.
(3) Faustus
6Ross CoakleyRobert CowellWon a C&D handicap off this mark last August (good ground; handles slower); probably needed this month's return to action at Wolverhampton (finished behind Skallywag Bay); visor replaces cheekpieces today; others appeal more for win purposes though.
2nd (1) Haymaker
5Billy LoughnaneHughie MorrisonGoes well fresh, winning on his reappearance in 2022 and running a cracker in a hot Newbury sprint last April when going off hard; won at Windsor last May off 5lb higher (6f, good to firm; handles soft); ended 2023 quietly but he's had a wind op since and this is weaker than he's used to contesting.

Last year's winner Secret Handsheikh should be primed for this after a couple of spins on the AW, while Antiphon can leave his reappearance effort well behind him. Skallywag Bay (second choice) shaped nicely on her return at Wolverhampton 19 days ago and ought to go well but HAYMAKER is preferred. Although his form tailed off in the autumn, he goes well fresh and this race is weaker than he's accustomed to. A wind operation since last seen could help too.[Paul Smith]

(5) Super Dino
2Lewis EdmundsAmy MurphyInauspicious debut at Southwell (AW) where he finished last of eight and was well behind Coiled; combination of different surface and fitting of blinkers needs to make a big difference.
(4) Oakley Boy
2Luke CattonStuart WilliamsSold for £22,000 then £1,000 as a yearling; Mayson half-brother to three AW winners, out of a 6f AW winner; this newcomer may be more interesting when switched to artificial surfaces.
1st (6) Fondest Dream
2Nicola CurrieOllie Sangster32,000gns yearling; by Showcasing and the first foal of a maiden sister to smart 6f-8.6f winner Keystroke; has stronger credentials than stablemate Bob Mali; the betting should give further guidance.
(8) Isla Bella
2Pat CosgraveGeorge Boughey6,500gns yearling; Land Force half-sister to winners Global Acclamation (6f/7f AW) and Aussie Rocks (US 4.5f-1m dirt); not quite two years old yet; yard also runs Violet Love; follow the market signals.
4th (9) Over Spiced
2Jack MitchellTom Clover6,000gns foal; Adaay half-sister to Belgian winners Lady Magda (10.5f-13.5f) and Vive La Danse (10.5f-13.5f), out of 6f/7f winner (including 2yo); stable had a low strike-rate with 2yos last term.
(1) Bob Mali
2Harry DaviesOllie Sangster3,000euros foal, 16,000euros yearling; Sands Of Mali half-brother to Italian winners Bridge Dino (6f-1m) and San Pasadora (7f/1m), out of Greek 6f/7f scorer; late foal (not yet two); market instructive.
(2) Bob The Bandit
2William CarsonBill TurnerPromising second in soft-ground Brocklesby; probably a tad below that form when filling same position at Wolverhampton (AW) but may benefit from this return to turf; leading player on the figures.
3rd (3) Coiled
2Charles BishopEve Johnson HoughtonShowed ability with his placed effort at Southwell (AW) and should improve, with this switch to turf looking a positive judged on pedigree; represents last year's winning yard; interesting.
2nd (7) Violet Love
2Billy LoughnaneGeorge BougheyHavana Grey filly whose owner is a powerful force in the 2yo department; started favourite at Southwell (AW) and duly showed clear promise in finishing a close second; respected with progress on the cards.

Southwell runner-up VIOLET LOVE is taken to show progress and go one better. Coiled, a similar type, is second choice ahead of Bob The Bandit who warrants respect back on turf. Fondest Dream looks the pick of the newcomers.[Steve Boow]

(13) Carry On Aitch
4Rhiain IngramRoger IngramJust one win from 21 starts and she's not made an impact in her last six runs; hood is now tried and she needs to find more back on turf.
(2) Comedian Leader
4William CarsonJim & Suzi BestFive-time AW winner but she's been well held on Polytrack (7f) and Tapeta (8.6f) in two runs for her new yard; mark is falling but she's 0-9 on turf and has something to prove back in this sphere.
(5) Sir Titan
10Pat CosgraveTony CarrollEnded a 21-race losing run with his 33-1 win at Lingfield (1m) in January; went close over 7f there next time but down the field in last three runs; conditions are no problem on this return to turf but this veteran has a bit to prove again and others are preferred.
(11) Moorgate
5J F EganPat MurphyWon at Lingfield (6f, AW) in November and three good efforts there since but his form nosedived at that track two weeks ago; had some form here in the autumn but he needs to bounce back on this return to turf.
(6) Dulcet Spirit
5Kaiya FraserBrett JohnsonVersatile ground-wise and was runner-up over C&D in the autumn but she has form figures of 07570 since; on dangerous mark back on turf but needs a major revival with cheekpieces added.
(9) Awesome Spirit
4Alistair RawlinsonMichael ApplebyRegressive maiden who has not made an impact in three runs this spring after wind surgery; this step back up in trip could help but he's now 0-14 and others are more convincing; blinkers removed.
3rd (12) Arlo's Sunshine
7George RookeJohn E LongScored off a similar mark at Yarmouth (1m, soft) a year ago but he's 0-14 since and has been well held in his four runs this year; should be fine on this drop back in trip but he needs to rediscover his spark.
(8) Muy Muy Guapo
4Paddy BradleySimon DowHas dropped some way down the weights but his record stands at 0-17 and he's finished in rear after slow starts in his two runs (7f, Polytrack) this year; seems versatile ground-wise on turf but needs to raise his game back in this sphere.
(10) Heer's Sadie
6Christian HowarthJulia FeildenTwo C&D wins (good to firm) last summer and she ended last season with two creditable placed efforts on soft ground at this track; returns after 184 days off but she's on her last winning mark and needs a close look back up in trip.
4th (7) Mudlahhim
8Franny NortonScott DixonMultiple AW winner who has reached the frame on Polytrack and Tapeta this spring; looks well treated on his best form last year, including on turf but he's 0-15 in this sphere and has never run at this track; others are more persuasive.
2nd (3) Daisy Roots
4Billy LoughnaneAdam WestWon over 1m on turf (soft) and Polytrack last year; still 3lb higher than for last win but she returned from a break with a close fourth at Lingfield (1m) 12 days ago; should benefit from that run and she had a close call over this trip in the autumn; in the mix with Billy Loughnane booked.
1st (4) Thoughtful Gift
5Charles BishopJack JonesHas done well in classified events this year and she's won on Polytrack (1m) in her last two starts; on revised mark on this switch to turf but she's on a roll and could find more progress on this drop back in trip; key player.
(1) Ceilidh
4Aidan KeeleyGeorge BakerTook a while to get off the mark but he ended last season with two wins at around 7f on slow ground; up another 6lb but had plenty in hand at Leicester last time and is open to more progress this season; strongly respected back from 208 days off.

Thoughtful Gift is on a roll after two AW wins in February but she has more to do back in trip on this turf debut and there are some interesting alternatives. Heer's Sadie had two wins and three placed efforts here last season, while Daisy Roots ran well at Lingfield on her recent return and has claims if she can build on that. However, the vote goes to CEILIDH, who found plenty of progress with his two wins in the autumn and is a big player if he can pick up where he left off.[David Moon]

4Sam HitchcottRichard HannonDual turf winner over an extended 1m3f (soft/good) last August; hasn't been at the top of his game in two AW runs this spring but he had an excuse over 1m6f last time and is now back on his last winning mark; one of two runners for Richard Hannon and looks interesting back on turf.
(4) Eton Blue
6Pat CosgraveGeorge BakerMade all for an easy win at Goodwood (1m1f, soft) last August and he followed up over C&D (1m4f, good) in a race he also won two years earlier; no joy in amateur jockeys' Cambridgeshire in final run last season but he still looks feasibly treated and has won when fresh in the past; needs watching in market back here on his return.
2nd (5) Suffrajet
5Franny NortonCharlie JohnstonWon off 1lb higher at Kempton (1m3f, AW) on her comeback in December but she's not gone on from that and was laboured at Lingfield (behind Lexington Knight) three weeks ago; conditions should be fine on this switch back to turf but that was a major blip last time and others are more convincing.
(6) Upepo
4Jack DoughtyTony CarrollNot out of the first four in seven AW runs for this yard, winning three of those (all at Lingfield from 1m4f to 1m5f); 1m6f looked to stretch him when 4l third at Southwell last time but he has an uninspiring record on turf and needs to transfer his progress back to this sphere.
3rd (3) Lexington Knight
6Kevin StottRichard HannonMultiple AW scorer who has also won on fast and soft ground on turf; creditable third off this mark on AW (1m4f) in his last two runs and latest was in a 16-runner event at Lingfield; should go well again back on turf and he's respected.
(1) Lord Melbourne
4Harry DaviesSimon & Ed CrisfordDidn't really progress in five novice/maiden events last year but he found improvement on his handicap debut when forging clear at Pontefract (1m2f, heavy; 4-1) two weeks ago; a 3lb rise for that success looks fair and he's a big player again back up in trip.
1st (2) Ensured
6Ross CoakleyJames FanshaweSoft-ground winner in Britain in 2021, then failed to score in Hong Kong in 2022 or 2023; placed on AW in his first two starts since rejoining James Fanshawe but he didn't really fire when favourite back on turf at Doncaster (1m2f, soft) last month; now goes back up in trip and down in grade but he needs to step up again after that last run.

Richard Hannon has two interesting contenders in Lexington Knight, who has been placed on AW in his last two starts, and Major Major, who won twice on turf last summer and is back on his last winning mark. Dual C&D winner Eton Blue needs a close look on his return, but the vote goes to LORD MELBOURNE (nap), who kicked off his handicap career with a clearcut win at Pontefract two weeks ago and is open to more progress back up in trip.[David Moon]

(12) On The Nose
6Kevin StottAdam WestWon over C&D for Gary Moore in the summer of 2022 but she's struggled for two different yards since September, including under both codes in her last four runs; has a lot to prove and can only be watched.
(13) Red Hot Rose
4Charles BishopJack JonesCaught the attention of the stewards at Chelmsford (6f; last of four) on second start but she's struggled at big prices in both runs (maiden/classified) since; still unexposed but she needs major improvement upped in trip on handicap debut.
(9) Qeyaady
6Paddy BradleyPat PhelanSole win was in France in May 2021; has dropped a long way in the weights but has a mixed record under Flat/jumps codes since October and was a remote sixth back in this sphere at Lingfield (1m4f, AW) last time; others preferred.
(10) Miss Tiki
6Ross CoakleyMarie MartinJust one win from 18 starts and she failed to beat a rival on her stable debut at Lingfield (1m2f classified) in February; returns after another break and she needs a major revival back on turf; equipment removed.
(4) Come To Pass
5William CarsonTony CarrollDual Polytrack winner (1m2f) in late 2022 and he's been placed three times on AW this winter; no joy back over hurdles in last two runs but his saddle slipped last time and he's not ruled out on this return to the Flat.
1st (8) Chourmo
4J F EganMark GillardDrops back in trip, having been outstayed over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last month, but he's still a maiden after 12 starts and has weak claims on bare 2024 form.
(11) Rita Rana
5Christian HowarthAdrian WintlePlenty of short-priced convictions to go with her sole win and she finished down the field in final three runs last season; far from straightforward but this step back up in trip looks a positive and she needs checking in the market on return.
(7) Native Melody
4Billy LoughnaneGay KellewayWon off 2lb higher at Lingfield (1m1f, good to firm) last August but she's had only four runs since and has struggled in three of them; now returns to turf after another break but she needs to get back near her best; reapplied cheekpieces replace blinkers.
4th (5) Sunset In Paris
6Lewis EdmundsJ R JenkinsHas won on AW in three of his last four starts, including when finishing well over 9.4f at Wolverhampton last month; only 1lb higher here and he's a big player if he can transfer his form back to turf.
3rd (3) The Conqueror
6Pat CosgraveJim BoyleAdded to his three wins in Germany when scoring at Lingfield (1m4f, AW) in December and he had some traffic issues there in January on his last run; now drops back in trip but he travelled smoothly for a long way last time and could be a big factor if he gets some luck.
(2) Bletchley Storm
4Alistair RawlinsonMichael WighamOff the mark at the 13th attempt when scoring at Southwell (1m3f, Tapeta) in February but she was always in rear on her return visit last month; still unexposed on turf but she has something to prove again after that disappointing run last time.
2nd (1) Global Tycoon
5Jack MitchellJoseph ParrRecorded his third AW win when justifying support in good style at Wolverhampton (9.4f) last Saturday; 4lb higher back on turf but he's unexposed in this sphere and was a creditable third at Windsor (1m, good) in his last run on grass; respected.

This could revolve around Sunset In Paris and GLOBAL TYCOON who have both been in winning form on AW this spring and are still unexposed on turf. The former is strongly respected in his hat-trick bid but slight preference is for Global Tycoon, who raised his form to a new level with a comfortable win at Wolverhampton last week. The Conqueror could be dangerous if he gets some luck on his drop back in trip, while another who could be in the mix is Come To Pass.[David Moon]

(6) Barbarosa
8Jack MitchellClare HobsonWon a classified event at Lingfield (1m2f, Polytrack) in February on second run for this yard; has been finding life a lot tougher in handicaps.
(10) Naadyaa
5Alice BondAlexandra DunnClose third over 1m4f at Wolverhampton on her penultimate run but down the field there next time and she's now 0-33.
(9) Bbob Alula
9William CarsonBill TurnerNever won beyond 1m but finished well for a close third over this far at Lingfield (AW) in October on final appearance and is closely matched with the fourth Jimmy Mark; hard to rule out.
(8) Jimmy Mark
4William CoxStuart KittowDual 1m2f winner (on good and quicker ground) at Bath, the latest in September off just 2lb lower; ran well on the AW next time and heavy ground was a feasible excuse in his final run; seems fine with undulations and could have a say if relatively straight after his break.
(5) Forever Proud
4Aidan KeeleyMark HoadMostly consistent at about this trip on the AW through the winter; has comparable form on turf, so she's one with each-way claims.
3rd (7) Gilbert
5Ethan JonesAdam WestCourse winner who was close up on the AW at Kempton (1m4f) in his penultimate race but was beaten 11l at Lingfield back from a break; has each-way claims but his good days are hard to predict.
(3) Velvet Vulcan
5Kevin StottMike Murphy & Michael Keady1m4f winner on the AW and perhaps bettered that form when finishing well for second over the same trip back at Lingfield two weeks ago; clear chance if transferring his form to this track/course on turf debut.
4th (2) Total Lockdown
5Billy LoughnaneMartin Dunne100-1 but finished close up over 1m at Southwell a month ago after dropping in the weights; has form claims but can be slowly away and is probably not one to trust.
(4) Roman Tempest
5Harry DaviesSimon DowHas never been that consistent but he won with a good bit to spare over C&D (soft) when last seen in October; returns off 6lb higher and it's difficult to know whether he'll be as good this time.
1st (1) Chinthurst
4Pat CosgraveJim BoyleNow 0-11 but has form figures of 222 in 7f/1m2f handicaps here and he was dropped in from a wide draw when a never-dangerous fifth of 16 on the Lingfield AW 15 days ago (first run for 169 days; behind Velvet Vulcan); it's easy to envisage him leaving that form behind back here.

The interesting horse is CHINTHURST who has finished runner-up in all three visits here and whose recent AW return was highly encouraging. Velvet Vulcan, who was ahead of the selection at Lingfield but has no turf form, could be the danger. Bbob Alula, Jimmy Mark and Roman Tempest are others to consider.[Alistair Jones]

(10) Roundabout Silver
5Paddy BradleySimon DowSimilar type to Local Bay, being a C&D winner who is still seeking first success above Class 6; returns to turf off a workable mark, following two AW defeats this year, but is not in his ideal grade.
(5) Kitaro Kich
4Pat CosgraveGeorge BakerThe only maiden in this field, lacks recent match practice and has produced his peak efforts on AW; turf record is far from solid; not the percentage call.
(9) Local Bay
6William CarsonTony CarrollHas a better strike-rate on AW but is suited by Brighton, having gained his sole turf success over C&D (good to firm); succeeding in this grade would be a first (all wins in Class 6).
(6) Otago
7Charlie BennettJim BoyleShould be suited by the return to turf with AW reappearance under his belt; three-time 7f winner at this venue, including off higher marks, and has bits of 1m form here; has the ability to take a serious hand.
4th (1) Bernadine
4Ross CoakleyJames FanshaweActs on good to soft; respectable third at Southwell (AW) on seasonal debut; scored comfortably at Nottingham (off 7lb lower) on last attempt in Class 5 and looks interesting dropped back to this level.

4Jack MitchellMichael AttwaterWon at Lingfield (1m, Polytrack) in November and plenty of good efforts since but his form cooled at Wolverhampton four weeks ago; conditions should be fine back on turf but he's now 1-22 and needs to step up again after that last run; cheekpieces (absent last time) are reapplied.
3rd (8) Oh So Audacious
5Kaiya FraserHarry EustaceHas patchy record but she won at Windsor (1m, good to firm) and over C&D (good) last summer and had an excuse in the mud in her final run last term; returns after six months off but drying ground would be a positive and she needs watching in market.

Most of these have something to prove but UNCLE DICK won three times over C&D last season and he didn't get any luck at Wolverhampton last month. He looks interesting off a good mark on this return to turf and may well be able to get back on the scoresheet. Cap d'Antibes, who is well handicapped on a piece of form here last spring, is feared most ahead of Chico Dulce and the returning Oh So Audacius.[David Moon]
