3rd (2) Rock Armour
3Darragh KeenanJohn ButlerLate foal, by Fastnet Rock; second foal; dam 1m1f winner (RPR 80), half-sister to 7f Group 3 winner Empowering and Listed-placed 7f winner Blue Angel out of 7f Listed-winning half-sister to 7f-1m1f Group 1 winner Bigstone; well related but best watched this time.
2nd (3) Washeek
3Pierre-Louis JaminK R BurkeFailed to live up to market billing at Newmarket (7f, good) last August; front-running third of eight in novice at Carlisle (1m, good to firm; gelded since) was a lot better but does not suggest he is a match for God's Window.
1st (1) God's Window
3Robert HavlinJohn & Thady GosdenBred for further; has Guineas, Dante and Derby entries; co-favourite, won maiden at Doncaster (1m, soft) in September; that form would make him the one to beat in this tiny field and he followed it with better when a slow-starting, 2l third of seven in Group 1 Futurity back at Doncaster (1m, heavy) in October, so it would be an almighty shock if he fails to win this.

Having already taken a maiden and finished third in the Group 1 Futurity, beaten just 2l by the hot favourite, GOD'S WINDOW will surely win this. Especially as there are just two other declarations. Washeek improved to show fair form on his second 2yo start and Rock Armour has a pretty useful pedigree.[Richard Austen]

(9) Ohnojoe
4Ben SandersonJessica MaceyWon a 6f novice as a 2yo but began life in handicaps off a tough mark and he's struggled to make an impact; he's undergone wind surgery since last seen and returns to action off a reduced mark so an improved showing wouldn't be a bolt from the blue; no accessories today.
3rd (7) Stallone
8Rhys ElliottMichael DodsCourse winner (6f, heavy); two 5f wins at Newcastle this year but he wasn't at his best back there 12 days ago (behind High Opinion); inexperienced apprentice on board.
(2) Refuge
7Lewis ChalkleyMichael & David EasterbySix-time winner who is now 4lb lower than when scoring at Hamilton last July; well held on his return at Doncaster four weeks ago but should be sharper today and this is a drop in class; has the rail to help and a much-improved showing could be on the cards.
(5) Under Curfew
8Molly GunnTony CarrollWon four in a row in the summer of 2021 (including back from a break) but he's drawn a blank since; ended 2023 with a string of good runs but his best turf form has come on a faster surface.
(11) Glorious Rio
7Brandon WilkieStella BarclayHe hasn't been at his best on AW this winter but he's dropped in the weights as a consequence and the return to turf won't be a problem (effective on soft); each-way shout.
(10) Bama Lama
6Oliver SearleRod MillmanWell suited by slower than good and she's only 2lb higher than for her Windsor win last August; not as good on AW and highly likely she'll leave last month's Southwell run behind her.
(6) Harry With Style
4Adam FarragherJohn RyanWon twice on slow turf last season, the second of them coming off a 4lb higher mark; struggling for form on AW this year but he's dropped in the weights as a consequence and getting back on the grass could prompt a full revival.
1st (8) Mehmo
6Frederick LarsonMichael ApplebyIn good form on AW early in the year but more recent efforts haven't been his best; has won over C&D and he's on a fair mark so couldn't rule him out.
2nd (4) High Opinion
5Andrew BreslinBryan SmartTwo C&D runs in 2022 yielded a second and a win (both on soft); he had dropped in the weights prior to an AW win in November; promising return from break at Newcastle 12 days ago and still feasibly handicapped; drawn furthest away from the stands' rail but good claims if that isn't a negative.
(1) Zargun
9Elisha WhittingtonScott DixonExploited his reduced mark at Doncaster last month (5f, soft) but he failed to back it up at Thirsk 11 days ago; this drop into Class 6 company will be more suitable and he's one to consider.
4th (3) Fortunate Star
4Zak WheatleyDeclan CarrollBolted up over C&D (soft) last May off just 2lb lower; inconsistent afterwards and he was well behind Zargun on his return to action last month; may fare better back into a Class 6.

A trappy sprint. Zargun should appreciate the drop to Class 6 company, while Fortunate Star was impressive over C&D last spring, Refuge is on a dangerous mark, Harry With Style should benefit from the return to slow turf and Ohnojoe has had a wind op since last seen. The two against the field are Mehmo and HIGH OPINION, with the latter fancied to build on his latest effort.[Paul Smith]

1st (1) Chilly Breeze
2Dylan HoganDavid EvansJanuary foal by Ulysses; went off the outsider of four and finished last in novice at Southwell (5f, AW; 8-1) nine days ago; may improve for the experience but certainly needs to.
5th (4) Clipsham Noble
2Darragh KeenanAlice Haynes£18,000 yearling; Mehmas half-brother to 6f/7f winner Thatsthefinest (including 2yo); dam unplaced 6f 2yo (RPR 49), half-sister to Lowther/Falmouth winner Nahoodh; has a plausible pedigree for a race like this and his stable is already off the mark with its juveniles; possibilities.
6th (2) Orlando Magic
2Frederick LarsonMichael Appleby22,000gns foal; by Land Force; dam unplaced 5f/6f (RPR 58), closely related to 6f 2yo Group 3 winner Cappella Sansevero; yard's only 2yo runner this season made a winning debut at Southwell; has to be respected.
3rd (5) Lady Dorchester
2Raul Da SilvaDominic Ffrench DavisUnplaced in AW races in March/April; has an experience advantage over her rivals but will probably need to improve to get off the mark.
2nd (6) Teej A
2Brandon WilkieK R Burke52,000gns yearling; by Mehmas; dam 6f 2yo winner (including Listed; RPR 96) out of unraced half-sister to useful 6f/7f winner Courageous; has an attractive pedigree and her stable won this last season with a filly making her debut; fits the bill on paper.
4th (3) The Dragon King
2John FahyClive CoxInvincible Army colt who made a promising debut when second of eight at Southwell (5f, AW) last month, disputing the lead for much of the way; represents a top stable and probably the one to beat.

Karl Burke won this with a newcomer in 2023 and Teej A could be cut from the same cloth. She certainly has an appealing profile, but with the benefit of experience the pendulum swings in favour of THE DRAGON KING, who shaped nicely first time out at Southwell. Orlando Magic and Clipsham Noble represent yards with 2yo winners already this season and are others to consider.[Richard O'Brien]

2nd (1) Contrast
10Joanna MasonMichael & David EasterbyCourse winner at 1m2f in 2022; went close over that same trip on Redcar reappearance last year but he rarely strays far from 1m2f and well held the last time he attempted 1m, back from an absence in 2022.
4th (8) Bay Dream Believer
5Mark WinnMark WalfordSuited by the drop to 1m last May and terrier-like in seeing off rivals at Wetherby (1m, good); might have added another had she not been hampered at Pontefract (1m, good to soft) in July; excuses after and lacks a run but yard among the winners and has a squeak back on turf.
(12) Haaf A Diamond
4Callum HutchinsonKevin FrostCan do it either way, having made all in her second handicap, at Leicester (1m, good) last June, but was ridden more patiently when a strong-finishing third of 11 at Bath (1m, good to soft) in August; bowed out on a quiet note in the autumn but a contender if back on song.
(9) Macho Sun
4Adam FarragherJulia FeildenNot yet off the mark but his two best runs have come on this track, most significantly when dividing subsequent winners in a C&D classified (soft) back from time off last April; mark has dropped and in the picture.
3rd (4) The Spotlight Kid
5Robert HavlinDean IvoryHandles soft ground but both wins have come over 7f at Yarmouth and he looks a non-stayer at 1m more often than not; limited appeal on first run back from winter break.
(11) Tonal
4Paddy MathersIan WilliamsConfirmed earlier promise when winning cosily on Wolverhampton AW (about 1m1f) in February; the quick return under a penalty didn't work out and was aiming high in the Spring Mile at Doncaster (pulled hard and saw too much daylight); this is more his level and he still has potential.
1st (3) Ardbraccan
5Frederick LarsonMichael ApplebySole win was the best part of three years ago; not badly treated on C&D form on good to firm last May but she's done virtually all her racing on sound surfaces so soft ground could open a can of worms.
(5) Realised
4George WoodHarry EustaceDam bred several useful types, including two Listed winners; this one was unraced as 2yo and showed only a glimmer of ability in her qualifying runs at 7f and 1m in the autumn; however, no great surprise if she turned a corner back from a break in an ordinary handicap; market can guide.
(10) My Mate Mike
4Darragh KeenanDean IvoryHad few chances and his powerful finish to lead close home on Lingfield AW (7f) in February augured well for the future; however he ran no sort of race there next time and goes into the unknown in his first 1m handicap and on ground slower than good.
(2) Cariad
4Liam WrightGeorge ScottFour AW wins at 1m; maiden on turf but has run some good races over C&D and lost out only late on soft to well-treated one last July; has worn different forms of headgear, first-time visor today; has won after a break and up the pecking order.
(7) Seattle Time
4Dylan HoganJack JonesMaiden; can look an awkward ride but he did good late work over 7f on Polytrack last month and soft ground was no hindrance when runner-up at Yarmouth (7f) in September; looks worth another go at 1m and handicapper has let out an inch of rein.
(6) Glencalvie
4Josephine GordonPhil McEnteeOn the go since August and had flagged in recent AW starts but she was well handicapped back on turf at Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) last week and took advantage; back up 3lb and while she's no soft-ground specialist she seems to handle slower conditions; thereabouts.

Glencalvie has less to prove than some following her Yarmouth win last week but the different ground conditions are a query. CARIAD gave a feisty show against a progressive one over C&D last summer when seemingly suited by soft ground and he might be the answer to an open race. Realised is worth a market check on her handicap debut while Macho Sun is also of interest.[Emily Weber]

(3) Anisoptera
7Laura PearsonBrett JohnsonTwo creditable placed efforts at Chelmsford since fitted with cheekpieces (beaten only 2l when sixth a week ago); has done the vast majority of her racing on AW but was runner-up on turf earlier in her career.
(7) Shadowfax
5Joanna MasonMichael ApplebyScored in first-time cheekpieces at Chelmsford (1m6f) last November but he been beaten upwards of 23l in all four starts since; now 1lb below his winning mark but he needs a refitted cheekpieces and first-time tongue-tie combination to spark a major turnaround back on turf.
1st (5) Queensland Boy
4Paddy MathersIan WilliamsTwo creditable placed efforts on Polytrack (1m4f/1m6f) in December but below-form sixth twice since; needs a return to turf (won over 11.5f at Windsor last summer) to spark a revival.
3rd (6) Young Merlin
8Frederick LarsonAmy MurphyNotched three hurdle wins on joining this yard last summer, including on soft; not seen since November but on a low mark judged on those hurdle exploits and his peak Flat form; interesting.
4th (2) Greatness Awaits
5Callum HutchinsonBen PaulingDual soft-ground winner who, fit from hurdling, has recorded respectable fifths over 1m6f at Chelmsford in recent weeks; not dismissed back on turf with ground conditions to suit.
2nd (1) Clansman
6Sam FeildenLiam BaileyUnderlined how well he goes in the mud with a 7l win at Thirsk (1m4f) last week and won by even further at Ripon (1m6f, heavy) on Thursday; effectively another 6lb higher if turned out again but it's offset by his rider's claim and he'll make a bold bid if coping with the quick turnaround.

This is a quick turnaround for the thriving Clansman after Ripon on Thursday so it might be worth taking him on with YOUNG MERLIN. Amy Murphy's charge was rated in the mid-70s the last time he ran on the Flat in Britain and three hurdle wins for this yard last summer suggests most of that ability remains. [Andrew Sheret]

(9) Pending Appeal
4Callum HutchinsonKevin FrostAll 13 starts for Charlie Hills were over 6f/7f and she was below par when last seen last July; sold for 6,000gns later that month; however, she's on a reduced mark for this stable debut and her pedigree hints she could be suited by this step up in trip; not a forlorn hope.
(11) Break Point
4Joanna MasonDerek ShawEight-race maiden who has finished down the field on his last four starts and he's very hard to fancy on that recent evidence.
4th (10) Berry Edge
6Dylan HoganDavid ThompsonPoor 1-21 strike-rate and failed to threaten last year on final few runs for Michael Dods, but he's dropped to an attractive mark and has a pretty solid reappearance record; not written off on stable debut (same owners).
(1) Lunar Jet
10Dougie CostelloSteph HollinsheadBelow par on stable debut over C&D (heavy) last October, after a break, and this 10yo has been absent since; however, this C&D winner is 1lb lower than when winning at Redcar (1m2f, soft) last April and is not ruled out.
2nd (8) Giselles Defence
4Josephine GordonIan Williams15-race maiden who returns from a break for this stable debut (ex-Gavin Cromwell); however, he's on a handy mark on his best Irish form (including on testing ground) and he's not ruled out; watch the betting.
1st (3) Powerful Response
4Brandon WilkieGeoffrey HarkerWon twice for Ed Bethell last summer (7f/1m, AW/soft) and he was a fair fourth on last month's seasonal and stable debut when upped in trip at Doncaster (1m2f, soft); could build on that latest performance; chance.
(6) Shaheen Saqaar
4Robert HavlinEd DunlopWell beaten last September on sole turf start (1m, soft) but this lightly raced 4yo has staged a transformation since and won on AW (9.4f) in December; major player if good form continues on first run since January.
(7) Kittykarma
4Jack GarrittyRichard FaheyThe drop back in trip may not be ideal on her reappearance but she improved in these cheekpieces last year, winning at Thirsk (1m4f, good) in August, and she's also effective on soft ground; not discounted.
3rd (2) Big Bear Hug
5Adam FarragherAdam WestWon twice last season (soft/heavy) and has run well to be placed on both starts this year (1m2f, soft/heavy); another win looks imminent.

The mare BIG BEAR HUG (nap) has run really well in defeat on her two starts this spring and is taken to return to winning ways. Shaheen Saqaar was in good form in January when last seen and may provide the most danger ahead of Powerful Response.[Ben Hutton]

(2) Ninety Nine
3Brandon WilkieGrant TuerWon a 5f maiden for Richard Fahey and also ran well in a heavy-ground nursery over C&D last October (off 6lb higher); well beaten in two AW runs for current yard but she could prove a different proposition back on turf.
3rd (1) Quercine
3Mikkel MortensenCharlie FellowesImproved with each of her three runs on AW this winter, getting off the mark with a narrow front-running success at Southwell in February (cheekpieces first time); not being overfaced for her handicap/turf debut and she's one to consider.
4th (4) Wichahpi
3Andrew BreslinBryan SmartWon twice over 6f on slow ground as a 2yo; solid return to action when finding only an unexposed rival too strong at Catterick 17 days ago (5f, heavy); should remain competitive.
1st (3) Cypriot Diaspora
3Joanna MasonRod MillmanWon a 6f nursery at Leicester on good to soft last September; not so good in either start since but she's been drawn wide on both occasions; has the rail to help her today and she has shown promise on soft ground; one to consider.

Quercine, a half-sister to the quirky but capable Holy Fire, brings untapped potential to this handicap debut but she's untried on turf. Ninety Nine (second choice) should benefit from a return to grass and a drop in grade, while Wichahpi made an encouraging return to action 17 days ago, but CYPRIOT DIASPORA is preferred. She's not had much luck with the draw since her Leicester win and her one run over 5f was eyecatching. She still has time to do better.[Paul Smith]
